Having collaborated with various agencies and freelancers in the past, I've been exceptionally impressed with the unwavering commitment Texonica demonstrates in their projects. However, Texonica stood out by consistently investing genuine effort throughout our collaboration. 

Additionally, their proficiency and experience in their field were evident. We were looking to expand our presence online and specifically to create ad campaigns targeting job seekers who were searching for resume services. We hired Texonica to create Google Ad campaigns from their conception. We were very open minded, so Texonica created the campaigns from scratch instead of revising some of the poorly performing ads we have had in the past.

We selected Texonica after vetting several other Google Ad experts online. We did our own Google searching as well as reviewed top contractors on Upwork. We were a fan of Texonica because they seemed to strike the appropriate balance between professional experience and cost effectiveness. The initial exploration call was eventually what sold us to get started with Texonica.

Only after initial (good) questions were asked about our business did Texonica begin to work on our project. We gave them all of our brand assets, including customer demographics and branding materials in order to give them a foundation to work with. We then shared with them exactly what our goals were (ROAS of at least 4x) and a desired to reach those searching for "online resume services." They created our ads from scratch and then every month we met to improve performance.

We saw an immediate success in the performance of the campaigns with many conversions. We were also able to get conversion tracking set up properly with their help and feedback.We continue to see fantastic results for several of our campaigns. Our next goal is scaling our success so we are able to invest more in our ad campaigns.

The workflow consisted of monthly meetings at the beginning of the month with email communication in between meetings. This is optimal and I would suggest it for anyone looking to improve an ad campaign.

What is MOST impressive about Texonica is the sheer level of hard work that the team puts in. These folks go above and beyond, and nothing you request from them seems like a chore. Their email response time is fast, and they are able to take action with diligence immediately after you request it quickly.

Sometimes hard to understand during Zoom calls, but otherwise I really can't explain.

We’re an e-commerce website that sells car accessories and products. We have a branded product, a garbage can that people can use in cars and doubles as a cooler, storage bag, etc. I’m a project manager, implementing new changes on the site, hiring agencies and staffs, and other odd jobs that arise.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? r

They submitted weekly reports to us. Sometimes we’d have a few requests in terms of remarketing campaigns, and Texonica would launch them. We’d get an expense, revenue, ROAS, and CPC metrics every week. This allowed us to continuously evaluate our performance. They also broke metrics down between branded and non-branded campaigns.

These campaigns were very profitable.

How did Texonica perform from a project management standpoint?

They performed very well, sending reports and having meetings on certain days every week. It was very structured. They stuck to whatever we reported our budget was. While they provided their own budget recommendations and pace, they stuck to whatever we decided in the end.

They used Google Analytics, but there were no other management tools. Communication took place over email, phone, and Zoom.

What did you find most impressive about them?

This is the first Google Ads agency I’ve worked with, but we’ve worked with other agencies on different platforms, and Texonica was really good at communicating and working with our wants. They worked with us to find ways to implement what we wanted, while also being transparent about potential drawbacks and benefits. If we wanted to scale up a lot, they were open about how that would impact the campaigns.

They were pretty good. I can’t think of any big improvements. They were easy to work with.

My main problem as a marketing manager is that I don’t have time to be inside the Google account. Even though I have to sit at it, it just wasn’t my level of expertise, so I needed someone to manage our Google account and paid advertising.

We started by getting on a call with them and talked about expectations and the scope of work. They’ve been in communication with me since then, telling me what they’re doing and where they’re at in the project. They send me weekly reports and they’re always available to help and answer my questions.

The only metrics that we care about are the quality of the leads we’re getting, and how frequently we get those leads. I think they’ve really helped us decrease our CPA (Cost Per Acquisition) and increase our lead volume to get better quality leads. My experience with them has been A1, and I will continue to use them — I highly recommend Texonica because they’re awesome and they’re made up of great people.

Their approach to project management is really simple. I’m sure they have tools for other companies to work with, but I just requested that we communicate via Skype because it would be easy for me.

What did you find most impressive about them?

What distinguishes them is the fact that they really know how to run Google Ads. They really know their stuff when it comes to PPC, and they’re doing things for me that I didn’t even think were possible with Google Ads — and the results have been amazing.

When I engaged with Texonica, they really impressed me by sending me a detailed audit, which other companies we’ve engaged with didn’t really do. They really took the time to find out what was going on by looking at the account to see what they can do to give us a game plan for better optimization.

I would advise them to be serious and not waste Texonica’s time because they’re a very serious company. Before they engage with them, they should think about whether this is something that they want, because Texonica really puts everything into making sure you get the most out of them, as well as the best results.

I’m the CEO of Loft Design Company, an e-commerce retailer I started in 2017. We import, market, and resell furniture in the Canadian market. We currently have a single product line of cabinets, which started out as a proof of concept (POC). We built a working model and then expanded to a wider product offering and selection.

What challenge were you trying to address with Texonica?

I was hoping to increase traffic, conversion, and exposure. In 2017, Loft was just something I made up. I created the company, brand, and marketing materials, but no one had any way of finding out what Loft was.

Before I started working with Texonica, my organic rankings weren’t strong enough to drive traffic volume to support a growing business. I needed help driving traffic and exposure to my site to increase the potential of converting and selling.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Texonica focuses purely on PPC advertising, which includes Facebook advertising, Google Analytics, and Google Shopping. They set up my Google Analytics so that it reads correct data between Facebook pixels, Google pixels, and Google Ads. The team creates all of my PPC ads, and they run A/B testing on them. They manage and run that portion; I oversee it and provide the base content.

Initially, Texonica did a deep and thorough analysis of the business. It was similar to a  Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats (SWOT) analysis, but it included other questions about the profile of the company and our competitors. We wanted to understand the outward image we were portraying and how we’d create consistent online advertising in line with our brand. That was all with the goal of driving PPC traffic and generating e-commerce conversion.

When we saw that the original scope wasn’t working, Texonica and Kamil (Google Ads Strategist), in particular, really went out of their way to get things moving and rolling in the right direction — beyond the scope of what I would consider PPC. They began by analyzing my site speed and trust factors. They also created other content, such as assembly videos and customer reviews. Driving a lot of that has definitely helped. They helped me look at how the website was set up, why conversions dropped off at certain points, and where and why customers were lost. It was more like a website and store analysis. 

When I say they went beyond the PPC, I mean that I worked hand-in-hand with them to develop email campaigns during Black Friday and Boxing Day periods, which is the peak season for my type of furniture product. Kamil brainstormed and generated ideas and strategies with me on how to grow the business beyond the PPC. I could bounce ideas off of him, which was massive.

Texonica also assists me with content writing. They create a lot of creative content by using GIFs and HTML5 files as advertisements for Facebook and Google. Then, I simply approve the content. I have to give them the credit, since I have been very poor in providing them with content. Texonica made the most out of what I gave them. They gave me a lot of recommendations but I have not implemented them yet. I would like to implement some of them, but I just don’t have the time. They did a lot of things beyond the original scope, and I really value them for that.

What is the team composition?

Up until recently, Kamil was my main point of contact. On our last update, they brought in someone to run my ads, create campaigns, and manage Google Ads. I also work with Mikolaj (Ads Magician) on website analytics. He provides feedback on how we can improve the website conversion and lets us know if there are any risks or drop-offs.

How did you come to work with Texonica?

I initially worked with another firm that I found through Clutch, but it did not work well, so I used the site to look for a few PPC management firms. I spoke with a number of the top-rated firms based in Vancouver and Toronto. I hired one of them, but after 10 months, I was really unhappy with what they had done. They burned through my PPC ad spent and gave me no improvements or thoughtful analyses. Their work was really poor, but that isn’t a reflection on Clutch at all, as I still use the site for reference. When I switched to Kamil and Texonica, it was like night and day. I didn’t know that that would be the case when I switched.

After my poor experience, I didn’t want to hire another agency because I wanted to go for a more economic option. I just wanted to hire a single contractor whom I could manage directly. I had set up a call with 3–4 individuals and agencies before finding and interviewing Kamil through Upwork. He was above my budget, but he really impressed me with his technical know-how. He was able to immediately spot issues and talk at a strategic level. Since I was willing to spend more than what I’d budgeted at the time, I basically took a risk.

How much have you invested in them?

We spent just over $70,000 in 2020. The year prior, it was $20,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

I started working with them in September 2019, and the relationship is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Texonica has had a huge impact on my company. When we started, the business was really struggling. Most of their impact is reflected in my sales. Our gross sales were just over $100,000 in 2018 and $200,000 in 2019. We were just breaking even when we were with our previous agency. However, when I hired Kamil in October 2019, our sales spiked and jumped significantly. I immediately had my biggest sales month. Since working with Texonica, I have continued to have my biggest sales months and quarters, especially in 2020.

One of the four channels I sell through is Shopify, and Texonica’s work drives traffic and potential customers to my site. I manage separate campaigns on Amazon and Wayfair. In 2018, average sales on Shopify were just under $4,000 gross per month. In 2019, up until September when I was using the other agency, my average sales per month were $4,080.

When I started using Kamil, the average sales per month were $12,465. The average sales on Shopify from January–October 2020 were $25,600 per month. However, since November and December are the biggest months due to the Black Friday and Boxing Day campaigns, that number could be a bit skewed up.

How did Texonica perform from a project management standpoint?

It’s been great and very clear. If anything, I’ve been the bottleneck and unable to deliver everything that they ask for. I have given them very scarce resources to work with, and they are always requesting content, additional new creatives, and asking for different updates. 

I have been in less communication with Kamil over the last 10 months, but that is because I’m not solely dedicated to Loft; I split my time between two businesses. One of my business strategies is now moving to other products, which has been a bit of a challenge. However, Kamil keeps pushing me on that, because it would give him more opportunity to cross-sell products, improve some of the sales statistics, and get a better ROI on the ads. I’m confident that I could get the full ROI out of them if I could give them more to work with. However, the issue isn’t that they’re not delivering.
 
What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re all very capable. I recently met with the other team members for the first time, and something I like about them is that they’re honest and genuine. They give me that feeling and sense because when I pose difficult or challenging questions to them, I don’t get sugar-coated answers. I get matter-of-fact and direct answers, even if they may not necessarily be positive, and I like that.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Kamil is also quite direct, and some people may not like that. However, I like it a lot because he is trying to drive improvements and get the most out of the investment.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I would advise them to do exactly what I haven’t been able to do, which is to provide them with resources to develop more creative content. They can work with that and optimize it.

Also, be ready to invest. The scope was PPC, but we had a lot of conversations. Initially, we couldn’t figure out why the PPC ads weren’t working, so we began going beyond the scope. I don’t know if that would be the case with everyone, but it has certainly been my experience.
