BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I'm the VP of product and engineering for a waste management company.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with techahead?
We needed support with mobile app development and AI integration.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
techahead has designed and developed a mobile app for one of our user bases. After the discovery process, we began the design phase. The team has utilized Figma and FigJam for the discovery and design phases. TechAhead has developed the app using React Native for iOS and Android. The team is currently working on another project focused on AI text generation features related to one of our platform's core areas. techahead is also potentially providing marketing services.
The first iteration of the mobile app has been published. We're looking at follow-up features, things within the scope we pulled out that we know we want to get back in, any little UX polish that users or we come across, and bug fixes. We maintain an ongoing relationship of support for this project.
What is the team composition?
We work with 10 members of techahead's team, including a project manager, a technical architect, a frontend developer, two backend developers, a business analyst, a UX/UI designer, and a QA and DevOps resource. The team has also pulled in additional resources at certain stages.
How did you come to work with techahead?
I used ChatGPT to find the top five service providers who could work with a project like this. We went through an RFP process with techahead, and they stood out from the other companies we considered.
We chose techahead because they seemed to have it together. We weren't their first client, and their presentation was spot on. Every teammate included in the initial calls was very professional and knew their roles; they knew how to run a sales pitch. We were impressed with every member we spoke with and what they presented to us.
Out of three other companies, techahead looked the most polished and the most exciting. We were venturing into the AI space, and they also presented a clear future of where we could apply AI; they were leaders in that space.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in July 2024, and the engagement is ongoing.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
techahead's work has met and exceeded our expectations. The team has top-notch design and research skills and a thoughtful approach. We've been very impressed with techahead's Figma work; it's very nicely thought through.
How did techahead perform from a project management standpoint?
techahead's project manager and team members have been phenomenal. The team is communicative and delivers everything on time. They were always ready to go, and at moments, were waiting for us to provide feedback. We use Slack for communication and have two weekly meetings via Microsoft Teams. techahead is very accommodating.
What did you find most impressive about them?
We're impressed with the time and effort techahead has put into the discovery process. The team has included us in the early discovery phases, which have been very collaborative. techahead has taken our feedback and made their own proposals. It has been a great process from start to finish.
Are there any areas they could improve?
We would like to have some afternoon meetings occasionally, but it hasn't affected the quality of anything delivered. We've been able to make everything work with our regular cadence of meetings, and techahead has been very accommodating with our time zone difference since they're located in India and we're in the US.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Look at your capacity and understand your commitment on your side so the project can move along without any roadblocks. techahead has never been the roadblock or the bottleneck. It has been on us and our ability to get together and review what is necessary. Starting a second project while the first one's still ongoing has made us quickly realize how little capacity we have on our side. That is one of the reasons our first project took a bit longer. In hindsight, spacing out those two projects would've been better just because we don't have the resources to manage both projects.

BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CTO of JoyJam, a mobile app in the creator economy industry. We’re building a platform in the creator economy for the music industry.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with TechAhead?
We needed help with mobile app design and development.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
TechAhead has helped us design and develop our mobile app. The team has worked as our partner to build the requirements and design the workflow and UI. TechAhead has also helped us with a comprehensive analysis of what we’re building, including the associated costs.
We’ve created a cost spreadsheet with them that outlines all the vendors included in our technology stack, the different types of users, and the actions we expect them to perform. For example, music creators can upload videos similar to TikTok or Instagram. We’ve also discussed the size of those videos, the different servers, and the infrastructure.
Our platform is built on mobile technology for Apple and Google mobile development. We’re also using Flutter and Node.js. We leverage Amazon AWS technology stacks for everything from database management to serverless computing to API integrations and interfaces, cold storage or physical storage, as well as the virtualization of content and data.
We’ve made our production push, and TechAhead is now in a postproduction role. The team is working on ongoing engineering, production support, infrastructure support, and monitoring and maintenance of all our technology components.
What is the team composition?
We have a project manager, a business analyst, a frontend developer, a backend developer, a QA person, a UX/UI team, and a tech lead. We also scale up to more front- and backend developers and QA teammates when needed.
How did you come to work with TechAhead?
We found them on Google and selected them due to their experience and the types of customers they worked with. We spent a considerable amount of time reviewing companies. With many years of experience building and selling software companies, our team was very careful about who we selected and knew what to look for. TechAhead not only had the ability to understand what we were looking for, but they also worked as our partner to build the requirements.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent over $250,000 with them.
What is the status of this engagement?
The partnership started in June 2024, and it’s ongoing.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We just launched a week ago and already have five-star ratings. TechAhead has met our expectations.
How did TechAhead perform from a project management standpoint?
TechAhead has delivered the work on time and on budget. The team is excellent at communication. That’s the number one thing when you work with an offshore team: communication is usually the first point of failure. TechAhead’s communication is great. If they can’t meet a deadline, they notify us in advance and explain the reason.
We utilize Microsoft Teams for communication and to share files within the Teams environment for project management.
What did you find most impressive about them?
TechAhead truly puts knowledgeable people to work. Instead of putting anyone to work and just saying they can do it, the people involved in our project are all senior-level. We never lose time because they don’t know how to do something. When we have ideas or don’t like the way something looks, they explain why it has to look a certain way and what we can or can’t do. The team has the right expertise, so we’ve never been frustrated.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, there aren’t any. We’re continuing to work with them because we’re happy with everything they’ve provided.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Ask questions. Don’t make assumptions that everyone understands everything. No question is a dumb question.

BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m a software engineer at an electrical and technology solutions company.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with TechAhead?
We built a desk display unit and needed to build an app to run it, so we approached TechAhead.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
TechAhead has developed a custom app that runs in a Linux environment. Initially, we had a meeting with the team, and they explained the role and responsibilities of each member. We then exchanged our requirements, and they started building the UI. We went back and forth with the updates we needed, and they completed the UI in around six weeks. Since then, they've started implementing the app and coding it using Flutter.
What is the team composition?
We’ve worked with a general manager, technical leader, project manager, senior software engineer, business analyst, and QA analyst.
How did you come to work with TechAhead?
We approached them last year, but we couldn’t make it work. This time, we directly approached them and gave them the project to work on.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent around $12,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in April 2025, and the engagement is ongoing.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We’ve had a very good experience and would rate them five stars. They've built this app as per our requirements.
How did TechAhead perform from a project management standpoint?
They’ve completed work on time. We have regular catch-ups twice a week, and we also exchange emails and use Microsoft Teams. They’re very responsive and listen to what we say.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The way they manage the project, structure it, put the timelines, and deliver is impressive. Their communication and expertise in developing this kind of custom app and understanding the requirements are also impressive. They have highly skilled developers who know what to do and how to approach the client. They define the whole strategy and framework throughout the project. They keep informing us and giving us updates.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, I don’t think there’s anything they can improve on.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
I recommend TechAhead for any kind of web or IT-related development work.

The client is pleased with TechAhead's work and the partnership has grown much stronger over time. TechAhead has improved their communication, planning, and accountability. The client also appreciates their collaborative approach and the way they work as an extension of their team.
The client submitted this review online.
BACKGROUND
Please describe your company and position.
I am the CIO of Leroy Merlin South Africa
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What specific goals or objectives did you hire TechAhead to accomplish?
I hired them to develop an e-commerce mobile app for us.
SOLUTION
Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.
TechAhead has been responsible for developing our app from scratch according to our brief and integrating it into our backend systems via APIs. The app is a cross-platform mobile shopping app that integrates seamlessly with our existing in-store and online ecosystems. It caters to a diverse customer base, complies with local regulations, and embodies our standards for quality, security, and user experience.
We’ve defined the following key deliverables for the project:
Core features (MVP): product catalog and search, advanced filtering and sorting, product details, cart and checkout, user accounts, store locator, push notifications, basic product recommendations, self-checkout, and in-app feedback and review flows.
Post-launch support (initial three months): bug fixes and minor updates.
Future scalability: modular architecture enabling seamless addition of more advanced personalization, AI-driven features, user-generated content, in-house promo engine, and other new functionalities without extensive refactoring.
We’ve also defined the following success metrics and KPIs for the project:
App store rating: minimum 4.4 stars.
User acquisition and engagement: 150,000 downloads and 45,000 monthly active users (MAUs) in the first six months; 60,000–75,000 MAUs in 6–12 months; and 100,000–120,000 MAUs in the second year.
Conversion rate: minimum 1.75%.
Average order value (AOV): minimum R3,000.
We’ve also defined the following technical requirements for the project:
Cross-platform development using Flutter or React Native for simultaneous iOS, Android, and Huawei HarmonyOS delivery. The app must also be available on Huawei AppGallery.
Integration via middleware layer. All backend integrations (ERP, CRM) will be exposed through a middleware layer offering RESTful or GraphQL APIs.
Data sync frequency: full product catalog daily refresh; pricing and promotions multiple times per day; and stock levels near real-time updates.
Security and compliance: full compliance with South Africa’s POPIA regulations; payment data must meet secure payment standards; employ encryption at rest and in transit, plus secure authentication flows.
Performance and usability: optimize for low latency (e.g., ~2 seconds load time under average network conditions); ensure mobile-first, responsive design, and WCAG accessibility best practices.
Offline or low-connectivity scenarios: allow basic product browsing, adding items to cart, and viewing order history/loyalty info offline or with intermittent connectivity; automatically synchronize data once a stable connection is restored.
Multilingual support: the app should be designed for easy localization from the MVP stage; main languages are English, isiZulu, Sesotho, Setswana, and Afrikaans; ensure UI layouts and data models can accommodate translations (e.g., variable text lengths, locale-based formatting).
Brand guidelines and design systems: a comprehensive CI guidebook will be provided, including brand assets, typography, and color schemes; TechAhead should integrate existing UI kits or propose a new design system aligned with the brand identity.
Analytics and insights: event tracking (product views, add-to-cart, checkouts, conversions); conversion funnel analysis to identify drop-offs; behavioral segmentation and cohort analysis for retention tracking; A/B testing frameworks (e.g., Firebase Remote Config, Mixpanel) for experimentation; privacy and POPIA compliance with data anonymization and user consent.
We’ve also defined the following maintenance and scalability roadmap for the project:
Modular architecture: microservices or modular components for easy updates and feature integrations.
Code documentation and standards: in-code documentation (e.g., JSDoc); comprehensive API documentation (Swagger/OpenAPI); internal wikis/playbooks outlining coding conventions, deployment processes, and troubleshooting.
Version control and CI/CD: Git-based workflows with feature branches, pull requests, and code reviews; automated tests, linting, security scans in the CI pipeline; semantic versioning for releases.
Agile methodologies: Scrum Kanban frameworks with sprints, backlog grooming, and retrospectives; continuous improvement loops based on user feedback and analytics.
Testing and quality assurance: automated unit, integration, and end-to-end testing; performance, load, and regular security testing (penetration tests).
User acceptance testing (UAT) and beta testing: a dedicated UAT phase before the final release, including beta testing with a limited user group; feedback from UAT drives final bug fixes, UI refinements, and performance tuning.
Monitoring and logging: real-time monitoring (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana); structured logging and alert systems for quick incident response.
Future growth and roadmap visibility: infrastructure as code (Terraform) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) for scalable deployments.
We’ve also defined the following high-level phases for the project:
Phase 1 (MVP): core e-commerce functionalities — catalog, cart, checkout, user accounts, etc.
Phase 2: AI-driven recommendations and advanced personalization, in-house promo engine integration, and user-generated content (e.g., project sharing, community Q&A).
Finally, we’ve defined the following service level agreements (SLAs) for the project:
Incident response times: critical (P1) — respond within 2 hours, fix within 6 hours; high (P2) — respond within 4 hours, fix within 24 hours; normal (P3) — respond within 12 hours, fix within 3 days.
Support and maintenance: coverage during business hours, with an escalation path for P1 issues after hours; scheduled maintenance communicated at least 48 hours in advance.
Reporting: monthly or quarterly review of incidents, resolutions, and uptime metrics.
How many team members from TechAhead work with you?
We work with 5–7 teammates from TechAhead.
How do you communicate with TechAhead?
We use Microsoft Teams for communication.
How did you come to work with TechAhead?
I found them through Clutch. I chose them because they had a very high Clutch rating and reviews from multiple clients.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
How did your relationship with your partner evolve?
Our relationship with TechAhead has grown much stronger over time. In my first review I raised concerns about project management, but those issues were resolved as the team improved their communication, planning and accountability. The partnership now feels collaborative and business-focused, with TechAhead working as an extension of our team.
In what ways can they improve?
They can improve by anticipating client-side dependencies earlier and flagging them before they become bottlenecks. Sharper upfront alignment on timelines and responsibilities would make already strong delivery even smoother.
What advice do you have for clients with similar needs to yours?
Treat TechAhead as a strategic partner, not just a vendor. Share your long-term roadmap and success metrics early. The more context you give them, the more value they can deliver in both the short-term build and future scalability.

How did TechAhead perform from a project management standpoint?
TechAhead’s project management has been a disaster. It’s virtually nonexistent.
What did you find most impressive about them?
TechAhead has good UI designers. Also, they have a low initial cost.
Are there any areas they could improve?
TechAhead needs proper project management, clear communication, rigorous testing, and a focus on business outcomes rather than just delivering a pretty UI at a low cost.
Overall rating: 2.0 Good UI design and competitive initial pricing, but failed on execution, project management, and business outcomes.
Quality: 2.0 Strong UI capabilities undermined by poor backend quality, inadequate testing, and a product that drove revenue decline and negative customer reviews.
Cost: 1.0 Low initial cost became expensive when factoring in revenue loss, customer dissatisfaction, and the need for fixes/rework.
Schedule: 1.0 Virtually non-existent project management with consistent delays and no reliable delivery timelines.

BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m an executive at Instamall, LLC, a fashion delivery company.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with TechAhead?
We needed help with mobile app and web development.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
TechAhead is developing our app, including a mobile app and a web app, from scratch. The team is also helping with the design. The app is for iOS and Android. TechAhead is using Flutter and AWS, among other technologies. The process started with the app's development, and TechAhead is currently working on the design.
What is the team composition?
We have a team of about 10 people, including backend developers, web developers, QA specialists, and designers. We also have a project manager.
How did you come to work with TechAhead?
I found TechAhead through a Google search. The team had a great online presence and seemed to be at the top of the industry based on their reviews. We put in a request on their website, and they got back to us right away. We had a great initial conversation; they loved the concept and were very understanding.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent $30,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in March 2025, and the engagement is ongoing. We plan on using them after the launch for continuous support.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
TechAhead has more than met my expectations — they're fantastic. The app isn’t ready yet, but we’re about 85% of the way there. We plan on launching in Miami in September 2025. I’m glad I chose them.
How did TechAhead perform from a project management standpoint?
They deliver on time and within budget. Everything they promised is happening. We have three stand-up meetings a week on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. We use Jira and Microsoft Teams for project management and communication.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They’re very proactive and on top of things. Anytime we need to reach out to them, they’re always there.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, there aren’t any.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Have your idea black and white for them. Don’t just give them something and expect them to do what your vision is. You have to sit down with them and take time to explain the vision and show mock-ups. Give them the right direction, and they’ll be 100% perfect.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this

transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I'm a technical product manager at a company that delivers beauty and cosmetology education to our customers, which are schools and students.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with techahead?
We needed help developing an iOS and Android application to deliver exam prep questions to our customers. Individual students could buy those questions and prepare for their state board licensing exams.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
techahead has helped us design and develop a mobile app. Since taking over as product manager, I've met weekly with techahead's staff and our internal staff to discuss the app's maintenance. This includes fixing bugs and developing new features. Our recent charge has been improving our app store score.
Moreover, techahead has been developing new features to increase the score, focusing on improving the app's marketing and functionality.
Some of the app's features and functionalities include the ability for students to take the tests we've already loaded into the app. This prepares them for specific state board exams, whether it's barbering, cosmetology, nails, or aesthetics. The app also allows students to create their own tests.
Currently, we have a maintenance agreement. The team maintains the tech stack and the application deployment anytime we make changes.
What is the team composition?
We meet weekly with a project manager and a tech architect who works on both the iOS and Android versions of the app. This person coordinates all of the engineering tasks for us.
How did you come to work with techahead?
I joined this specific application as a product manager a year and a half ago. The decision to engage them had already been made.
How much have you invested with them?
We pay them $2,000 per month, which is renewed yearly. So, around $24,000 a year.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in January 2024, and the engagement is ongoing.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Tech Ahead has successfully completed the app. In fact, its App Store score is 4.5 with 487 ratings. When I took over, it was around 3.5–3.8. We've been working on features with techahead, including a pop-up asking users to rate the app if they're having success with it. This encourages people to leave ratings if they're enjoying the app.
The Android Store rating has also improved significantly. It was around 2.8 before we installed the same pop-up feature. It's been a big improvement.
Overall, the quality of techahead's work has been successful. All the features they've developed since I've come on have been successful. We haven't had to go back and change the features and functionalities because they involve us in the QA process before releasing anything new. We have control over ensuring that the requested features are executed correctly. We're in maintenance mode now.
How did techahead perform from a project management standpoint?
Communication and timeliness are important for this application. It's a smaller application for our business, so it's not the main focus. However, anytime we ask for updates or for them to work a little more quickly, they accommodate us. We don't have to make improvements by a specific date, so the pace is leisurely. They get the work done and keep us updated, which is good. They've been helpful.
We primarily communicate through email and Slack. We also have weekly meetings on Microsoft Teams. We don't have any formal ticketing platform, so the communication is pretty informal.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their biggest strength is their ability to take the information we give them the first time and go with it. We don't have many formal communications, so we can basically tell techahead what we want. They go to work on it and come back to us when it's ready for testing.
Are there any areas they could improve?
More proactive communication would be helpful. When we ask for updates, they're able to provide them. However, sometimes if a project takes two or three weeks, we won't hear from techahead until the very end. It would be nice to get more regular communication, such as when they finish a part of the project.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Set expectations and communication norms right when you start. Make sure you're comfortable with that before you start executing the work. This can be a big factor regardless of who you're working with.

BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the general manager of marketing at DLF Hospitality, an Indian real estate company.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with TechAhead?
We needed to build in-house software for our website.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
techahead has built a CMS for our corporate website. The CMS enables us to create more pages and add more images. It’s a cloud-based software that can accommodate a lot of traffic and has a high intensity of images and videos.
So, after the credentials deck and understanding their process and how they do projects, we did a detailed scope of our project and what we wanted to achieve.
We’ve given them a sitemap of what we want, and they’ve built the CMS based on that design. The team has also added a lot of value to the software to make it more user-friendly.
The CMS has 36 components that we can use to rebuild the website. For example, if we’ve done a certain fashion of components 4, 5, and 6, the next page can be 6, 3, and 2. It’s like a Lego. They've been periodically taking us through it, auditing it, having a lot of back and forth.
What is the team composition?
We’ve worked with a business development manager, Veenu, the creative lead, and Sachin, the technical lead.
How did you come to work with TechAhead?
Someone recommended techahead.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent over $40,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in January 2025, and the engagement is ongoing.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We've just completed our project, and it's going live. The quality of their work is great. The team is responsive, open to feedback, and accommodating. They’re also very good at managing and assimilating feedback. I'm pretty happy with them.
How did TechAhead perform from a project management standpoint?
We live in the same city, so we prefer to have face-to-face meetings.
Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?
The business development manager has extremely good knowledge. He knows the backend and can answer technical questions. He took us through the creds and the processes and everything. So he was the front face, possibly the marketing,
What did you find most impressive about them?
techahead's ability to build is impressive. The team has great soft skills in CRM and responsiveness. Overall, they’ve built a good product, and we’re happy. Something that sets them apart is that they are available to take care of anything that you think is not right.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I can’t think of anything for improvement.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Be engaged in the briefing time and give techahead a great brief. If your brief isn’t clear, it’ll lead to a product that needs a lot of back and forth. You can ask for more recommendations, but you need to be very clear about what you want to achieve.

BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the founder of Bundle, an app marketplace designed to connect firewood buyers and sellers.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with TechAhead?
We needed help with mobile app design and development.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
TechAhead has designed and developed our iOS and Android mobile app. The team has used Figma for the design process.
What was the team composition?
We’ve worked with around six teammates from TechAhead, including a designer, a product manager, and several developers. I’ve also worked with a customer success manager.
How did you come to work with TechAhead?
I found TechAhead through a Google search and came across their Clutch profile. The team was very good in their pitch to me and allowed me to speak with several of their clients to get real testimonials from happy customers. TechAhead also offered an affordable price. Overall, the team married competency with an affordable price, so I felt confident moving forward with them.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent roughly $35,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in February 2025, and the engagement is ongoing. We recently went live with the app.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
TechAhead has delivered quality work and functionality. The team is always patient with me and goes through multiple iterations to produce the desired results. If I were to learn how to code and try to do this myself, it would take at least a decade. I know I could do it on my own, but I don’t know how to quantify time or money saved with this project.
How did TechAhead perform from a project management standpoint?
Some back-and-forth communication has taken longer than I thought, but there’s never been a problem with getting the quality and functionality I want. TechAhead’s customer success manager understood my project immediately and started answering questions I didn’t even ask yet, anticipating problems I hadn’t thought of yet. As a result, I know I’m in good hands.
Moreover, TechAhead’s project manager is very good at liaising and speaking with developers. They also translate for me. I don’t know exactly how many people are working behind the scenes, but everything is going as expected in terms of deadlines and budget.
We use Microsoft Teams and Figma to share things, but Figma never loads on my desktop or phone. Once a week, I get lucky, and Figma loads on my computer.
What did you find most impressive about them?
TechAhead’s customer success manager understood my project immediately and started answering questions I didn’t even ask yet, anticipating problems I hadn’t thought of yet. As a result, I know I’m in good hands.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I sometimes have trouble understanding the team because they’re based in India, and the audio on my computer isn’t the best. However, we always get where we need to go.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Don’t hesitate to work with TechAhead. You can spend $100,000 somewhere else, and they might do a better job. However, you can spend a third of that and have something pretty awesome.

BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the owner of Smox Trimsetters LLC, a booking platform for barbers, hairstylists, tattoo artists, and other beauty professionals. Our platform enables these professionals to manage their bookings, and clients can set appointments or purchase products.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with techahead?
I needed help with mobile app development.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
techahead has been developing our mobile app. Initially, techahead sent me the scope of work and what they found after looking through what I submitted to them. They’ve also let me know what would be best for me moving forward. techahead sent me a price quote, the timeline, and a milestone breakdown.
I provided techahead access to various hosting platforms, the Google and iOS applications, AWS, and GoDaddy. Our app serves as a virtual secretary for barbers and beauty professionals. Clients can use the app to book appointments without calling and interrupting the service. They can prepay and schedule their appointments based on the services provided by the professionals. The professionals can also set their availability and business hours.
All clients within their database can get push notifications when the stylist won’t be in for a day, a holiday, or a lunch break. This allows them to stay ahead of one another and be on the same page without any pushback or misinformation.
Additionally, techahead has a marketing department that will help me with app store optimization.
What is the team composition?
My main point of contact is Abhinav.
How did you come to work with techahead?
I came across TechAhead through ChatGPT. I did different prompts, and techahead’s name kept coming up. I looked more into them and asked ChatGPT questions. It gave me the reassurance and confidence I needed to use them to finish this project.
techahead was the seventh development company I worked with. I started this project in 2019 through Upwork and kept running into a snag with each developer. I found a developer before techahead on a different website, and they couldn't accomplish what I needed. The team shared their credentials and previous work with me, and I was impressed with their work for reputable companies.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent around $48,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in December 2019, and our relationship is ongoing.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
My customers have gotten used to the application. They often tell me it’s a good idea and that it would be nice if more barbers used that method.
I measure success by the app’s functionality. I’m testing it, and techahead is working on another app. They’re making another app while I’m using this one, so it doesn’t interrupt the flow.
How did TechAhead perform from a project management standpoint?
techahead has stayed on budget and on time. We communicate through Microsoft Teams. techahead is transparent and clear in their communication.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I’m impressed with techahead’s professionalism. They explain exactly what’s going on, and there is no runaround. Each time they deliver something, I’m amazed. I’ve had no problems with any of that.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I don’t think there’s anything they can improve on. They’re top-tier.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Communicate to them what you expect. They don’t have a problem with telling you that back. You don’t have to sugarcoat anything. They're techahead; they're ahead of other tech companies.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
The redesigned app delivered by TechAhead brought several measurable improvements that clearly demonstrated the success of the project. One of the most significant outcomes was a noticeable increase in user engagement. After the launch, we observed that users were spending more time within the app, navigating through features more confidently, and completing tasks with fewer errors. This indicated a substantial improvement in usability and the intuitiveness of the overall design.
Additionally, we saw a marked reduction in support tickets and user complaints related to confusion or difficulty using the app—especially among drivers and single car owners, who previously faced challenges with the older interface. The new role-specific layouts and streamlined navigation helped users better understand and interact with key features such as vehicle health checks, Bluetooth-based door control, ignition immobilization, offers, e-skills, service scheduling, summary reports, live tracking, and trip replay.
The project also moved smoothly through testing phases, with minimal revisions required—highlighting how TechAhead translated our requirements into a fully functional solution. Feedback from the internal team and test users was overwhelmingly positive, particularly around the clean visuals, logical structure, and ease of control for both basic and advanced functionalities.
Overall, the measurable impact of the redesign reaffirmed that our decision to partner with TechAhead was well-placed. The project not only modernized our app visually but also significantly elevated the user experience across all key user groups.
Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?
TechAhead managed the project efficiently and delivered all promised features on time. They were responsive to our needs, made changes when we requested, and maintained clear communication throughout the process. Their project management was smooth and reliable.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
What impressed us most about TechAhead was their strong focus on user-centric design and their ability to understand our product vision quickly. They translated our functionalities into a clean, intuitive interface tailored for all users. Their attention to detail, design clarity, and responsiveness throughout the project truly set them apart.
Are there any areas for improvement or something techahead could have done differently?
The main area for improvement was around timing and communication. Since we provided the APIs, some meetings were scheduled late in our working hours, which made coordination a bit challenging.
