Tech Alchemy has run a discovery process and developed a blockchain-powered website for a superyacht marketplace. The site allows users to list, sell, and purchase yachts and weeks of charter using NFT tokens.
Tech Alchemy has delivered all sprints and key functionalities on time and within budget. The team has excellent project management skills, setting clear timelines, deliverables, and expectations. They are knowledgeable, helpful, and effective at guiding the client through the development process.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CMO of IDOSY. We’re the world’s only open digital marketplace for superyacht charter, sale, and investment.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What specific goals or objectives did you hire Tech Alchemy to accomplish for IDOSY in the superyacht marketplace space?
We needed support with the development of our blockchain-powered website, which allows the sale of charter and yachts through the use of NFT tokens.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Tech Alchemy has done the initial scoping and discovery phase of the project, including competitor research, technical feasibility, and technical scoping. Once that was completed, Tech Alchemy ran the build of the site on the backend and frontend. The team has built a blockchain-powered marketplace that includes the ability to list and sell weeks of charter directly from owners. They’ve also built a trading functionality so that users can buy and sell weeks of charter in an open marketplace that they’ve already bought. Moreover, Tech Alchemy has built the backend NFT integration and blockchain integration to ensure that all sales and weeks of charter are tracked on-chain.
What is the team composition?
We’ve worked with 5+ teammates from Tech Alchemy.
How did you come to work with Tech Alchemy?
We found them through an online search. We chose them over other options because they had high ratings, were close to our geographic location, had a great culture fit, and offered good value for the cost.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in April 2025, and the engagement is ongoing.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Tech Alchemy has delivered all sprints and deliverables as per the agreed project plan on time and on budget. Key deliverables have included the integration of base functionality on the backend for the use of NFTs, which has been delivered on time per the recommendations provided by Tech Alchemy. The team has also created all the functionality for the marketplace, including the ability to list, sell, and purchase yachts and weeks of charter.
How did Tech Alchemy perform from a project management standpoint?
Tech Alchemy’s project management has been excellent. They’ve given us clear timelines and set clear deliverables and expectations from the outset, which have been consistently met according to the plan. We’ve communicated via virtual meetings, emails, and messaging apps.
What did you find most impressive or unique about them?
Our team, at least initially, was new to the NFT space, and Tech Alchemy has been extremely effective at guiding us through the development process, educating us where needed, and explaining things clearly in a helpful manner.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, there aren’t any.

Working closely with the internal team, Tech Alchemy developed a new UX for an existing cross-platform mobile app prototype using Flutter. The team went through three sprints to deliver the product.
The team made a complicated app much more user-friendly, allowing it to be released to corporate clients. They have a strong comprehension of user needs and are able to work independently which has made them an extension of the in-house team. Tech Alchemy is a communicative team of experts.

BACKGROUND
Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the CTO/CPO of a mental well-being startup based out of London. We create accessible and evidence-based digital programs to help users improve well-being and build enduring resilience.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
For what projects/services did your company hire Tech Alchemy?
Before hiring TechAlchemy, we had a prototype of a mobile app built using Flutter, a cross-platform development framework. We hired Tech Alchemy to create a brand-new UX based on our user needs, and implement new app features by extending the prototype.
What were your goals for this project?
The main goal for this project was to create a new experience for our users by reducing the complexity of the existing prototype. The secondary goal was to extend our prototype based on the new experience and implement new features in an agile way.
SOLUTION
How did you select this vendor?
We found them through Clutch
Describe the project in detail.
Once we agreed to work together, we had a couple of discovery sessions to go through the existing work and understand the project requirements together. After the sessions, we started the Design sprints to create the new UX and mockups. It was a delightful experience working with Tech Alchemy since they understood our user needs quickly and were able to come up with a great UX in a relatively short period.
We made further changes to the design after validation from our users. Tech Alchemy also helped us by suggesting colour schemes, a brand new logo and a catchy name for our mobile app. At every step of the design, there was regular communication between us and their team.
Post design signoff, we started implementation by initially planning for 2 sprints. For building the mobile app, we used Flutter, a cross-platform development framework. The spring execution was done using agile methods and we used Trello cards to monitor daily progress in addition to daily standups and ad-hoc emails.
We were so pleased with the work after 2 sprints, that we decided to run a 3rd sprint to add new delight features in the app. In the 3rd Sprint, we needed some backend developer work and this was provided by Tech Alchemy and thankfully they managed it within the existing budget allocation.
Throughout the implementation phase, they released regular beta builds so that our team could test and suggest changes. Post-implementation, we entered the testing and bug-fixing phase. The project was handed-over along with some documentation.
What was the team composition?
Throughout the project, we had a dedicated single point of contact to monitor work progress. For the daily standups, a project manager and a front-end developer were always present. There was a backend developer and IOS expert for a short period as per our requirements. In the backgroud, there were testers and QA specialists.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
In a matter of 4 months, we were able to drastically simplify a complex app and release it to our corporate clients. We had a wish-list of features from the past 18-months and thanks to their great work, we were able to finish most of them within the agreed time-frame.
The UI, colour schemes and overall user experience resulted in a favourable feedback from our end users. A further implementation sprint is planned in the next months for a infrastructure overhaul to support scale.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
We had daily standups for the implementation sprints with the comms lead, project manager and developer. The workflow was optimised so that tasks could progress in parallel, even during blockers.
Blockers were sometimes technical and some pending signoffs from our side. Being a developer myself, the discussions went into code-level reviews sometimes but we always managed to move head. It was great communication overall,
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Their involvement and understanding of our user needs was excellent. Since they understood the minor details very well, we didn't need to explain everything to them and work was smooth.
Their entire team is super friendly and they always stayed true to their mission of empowering startups succeed. Tech Alchemy was like an extension of our team and so we also included them at our company Christmas dinner.
Are there any areas for improvement?
Before starting implementation, both clients and Tech Alchemy need to allow sufficient time to estimate and plan the tasks. In our case, we didn't have sufficient time for task planning of the last sprint and we rushed into implementation and faced some hiccups later. In the end, the risk was mitigated thanks to the developers but it is a risk nevertheless.

Tech Alchemy developed a sophisticated app for agricultural trading. They offered strategic consulting, delivered prototypes and wireframes, before launching into a long development process followed by testing.
Tech Alchemy’s team outshines other developers. On top of being tech experts, they’re fast learners who are flexible under dynamic circumstances. The entire team, including the founder, has exhibited an impressive investment in the client’s project, proving themselves to be a reliable partner.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited
transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the COO of House of Crops, an “agtech” (agricultural technology) company. We’re building an online trading platform that basically facilitates the trade of grains between farmers, trading companies, and producers.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Tech Alchemy?
Preferably adhering to an agile methodology, we wanted to create our MVP app to quickly penetrate the market. At the same time, we sought to minimize overhead and resource risk.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Tech Alchemy first evaluated our standing in the agtech space before creating prototypes and wireframes to discuss. We explored different tech stack options, then launched the official development phase. We utilized AWS, with whom we have a close relationship, as our server.
The application involves the creation of offers and demands of goods, and a user can set very specific parameters—77 in total—to specify the product that you’re looking to buy or sell. The app also features a dynamic negotiation engine, where one can send and request offers. The team has implemented logics for contract conclusion and user profile management.
A back-office admin panel allows us to manage all of the activity on our app. On this interface, we can match offers, view demands and concluded contracts, and oversee user activity.
Throughout the development process, we made sure that our market partners gave us feedback, to make sure our product was in line with their interests.
What is the team composition?
For three months, we had three developers, but now we have four.
How did you come to work with Tech Alchemy?
We had released an RFP that extensively outlined our service requirements. Out of nine different companies, we found Tech Alchemy’s offering to be the best. They adeptly responded with suggestions to our unique questions during the vetting process.
I know that the founders of our respective companies were acquaintances from university, but that didn’t seem to be a factor in the selection process. They presented themselves extremely professionally.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in December 2018 and the work is ongoing.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We’re received great feedback from our strategic partners in the market, who say that our app is superior to other ones. We’ve been the first agtech company to go live with an app like this, so things look very promising.
How did Tech Alchemy perform from a project management standpoint?
We handled the project management ourselves, spending time to coordinate the internal and external development teams. They do have a project manager, whom I communicate regularly with. I can openly communicate requests and requirements but I don’t have to micromanage, which is nice.
I have a daily standup call with them, where I talk to the whole team. We also have a bi-weekly management call. We use Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket. We appreciate that they re-evaluated the technologies they'd used in past projects to see if they’d be the right fit for this project. We ended up making really good decisions based on that.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Only a couple weeks into our project, our only backend developer had to leave the company due to health issues. They offered us supplementary developers who jumped in, and I didn’t experience any loss in velocity. After one or two days of onboarding time, the new backend developer was fully up to speed. We haven’t experienced that level of service or competence with another company.
The commitment of their team is also impressive. Their company is continuously growing, but we’re one of the largest projects they’ve had so far. They’re genuinely invested in ensuring our project’s success, and their dedication is evident.
While the founder is less involved in our day-to-day tasks and operations, he’s still engaged and up-to-date on project progress. We never have to take time to explain things, because he’s already on top of it.
Lastly, the price we’re paying for their service is also remarkable.
Are there any areas they could improve?
We’ve had one or two hiccups in terms of resource allocation. For instance, we had a situation last week, where we didn’t stipulate the exact requirements for the kind of developer we were looking for.
There was an error in transparency on both of our sides, which resulted in the only option being a developer who wasn’t immediately available. Otherwise, the collaboration has been very smooth, so we can’t really complain.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Invite their involvement in your project. We had fruitful discussions about technology choices, and they contributed lots of great ideas and suggestions. Don’t be afraid to give their developers feedback, because they’re great at incorporating it and bettering their work.
You’d also benefit from having a lengthy evaluation process for each developer you take on because they’re endowed with very different skillsets.

Tech Alchemy provides ongoing development support and consulting services. Among other tasks, they’ve helped design and build a mobile app and e-commerce web version for a travel tech company.
So far, the completed work has been up to expectations. Although the product has gained a significant amount of users, improved marketing efforts could increase the retention rate. Tech Alchemy continues to be fully invested in the work, making them a good partner for the multi-year engagement.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited
transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the founder of TripTalk, a travel tech company based in London. We work on mobile and web and provide travel-focused consumer services.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Tech Alchemy?
Generally speaking, Tech Alchemy supported our mobile app creation, including a redesign, development, and distribution. They also worked on our website and on our tech strategy, in general—what tech stacks we should work with, how to implement them, and so on.
We hired them to provide general consulting services, and they integrated as part of the company. They helped us with everything from strategy to implementation, from mobile to web. It was an exhaustive process.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
When I met the Tech Alchemy team, we had a basic app that only allowed users to build travel journals. We started the project by converting that tool into an actual social platform for creating and sharing content. We went through the entire scope of work with them, designing the new app and building it from scratch. We converted our journal platform into an actual social community marketplace and we’re looking to merge the mobile and web functions.
They’ve also helped strategize and focus on the marketing analytics. For these efforts, they’ve conducted A/B testing and make improvements based on the results. The key features of the app include location tracking, social media following, community building, as well as content management and sharing.
They built the website to be the e-commerce version of the existing app, starting from scratch. We designed and developed it together. Now, we’re building backend APIs to connect the app and database to the frontend of the site. They’ve also created the landing page to display relevant information for users.
What is the team composition?
Their working model includes having 2–3 London-based members, who are customer-facing and manage a whole team in India. The overseas team varied between 5–15 people depending on the complexity of the task. They assigned enough people to ensure that they’d deliver on time and that the project would be properly done.
How did you come to work with Tech Alchemy?
I used an app called Shapr to look for a CTO, but I came across one of Tech Alchemy’s former colleagues, who introduced me to the team. I was in the process of speaking with and vetting multiple other people and companies, and Tech Alchemy seemed to be a good match for us. They behaved like partners, but they offered the relationship of an agency, which was the best fit for me.
How much have you invested with them?
The total investment has been around £50,000 (approximately $60,800 USD).
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with Tech Alchemy at the end of 2017, and the relationship is ongoing.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The new version of the platform is live on iOS and Android, and we’ve seen a bit of growth from our marketing efforts. We’re happy with the platform, generally speaking. Every product we’ve done with Tech Alchemy so far has pleased us.
Currently, we have a few thousand users, but we found that the churn was pretty high, so we’re iterating before we do more marketing. We want to improve our retention and return rate.
How did Tech Alchemy perform from a project management standpoint?
The project management has been at a very high-level. They almost always deliver on all their promises and go above and beyond. Sometimes, when the scope changes during the course of the project, so do our deadlines. Aside from that, they always deliver on point and to a very high degree.
I always interact with the team in London, they are ones who manage the whole project. We use email, phone calls, WhatsApp, and Slack for communication, and project management is done through Trello. Anytime we build something in collaboration with Tech Alchemy there is a strong back and forth. They give us mockups and presentations, and we give them feedback to incorporate, so it has been a good process.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their shared interest in the project is what makes them stand out most. Tech Alchemy is not just an agency; they’re involved on a much deeper level. Their commitment is what makes our experience so good, and they feel like a part of our team.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Tech Alchemy could’ve managed expectations a bit better on their side, and taken a bit less work. I believe their ambition pushes them to say yes to any project or task, which may not be realistic at times. I think this is almost a compliment.
Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?
Clients should have a clear idea of their own expectations so that Tech Alchemy can determine how to meet them. If we’re clear about what we want and how we want it done, they’re certainly going to deliver.

BACKGROUND
Please describe your company and your position there.
I'm Founder and CEO at TOAD.ai - The Outdoor Advertising Directory - which is a geospatial analytics platform and planning tool for Outdoor Advertising in the UK.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
For what projects/services did your company hire Tech Alchemy?
Tech Alchemy performed a full range of services, from initial designs and User Interface iterations to audience data sourcing and optimization, and the entire product architecture and execution.
What were your goals for this project?
To build a minimum viable product, all the way through to a credible, market-leading platform.
SOLUTION
How did you select this vendor?
Initially a referral by a mutual contact. After asking a few other suppliers, we decided this was the best option, in terms of price, quality, and communication.
Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.
They did the following:
Initial screen designs.
User Interface iterations.
Sourcing and compiling data.
Design and build the web app
What was the team composition?
On our project, we had a lead developer and a supporting developer that we mainly had contact with. 3 additional supporting staff helped with the execution but were not main points of contact for us.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?
The platform has been very effective in creating a USP over other media planning agencies, as we are backed by powerful, supplier-agnostic technology, which plans optimized campaigns without human bias.
How was project management arranged and how effective was it?
Initially, we worked to a fixed scope, and then moved to 2-week sprints. After the initial groundwork, the latter was effective as it allowed enough time to build new features, and then test and feedback and prioritize for the next sprint.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Their adaptability and ability to respond to technical challenges were impressive. Complex technical principles have been communicated in an easily digestible way, which has hugely helped the wider team to understand and be part of the product development.
Are there any areas for improvement?
Everything was to satisfaction.
