Other companies could not put their numbers together and had no fixed cost and fixed way of pricing their customers, so it was hard to trust them.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Within 2 months, Studio Mosaic was able to get us from 100 downloads to over 5000 downloads, 3000+ signups, and 300+ products uploaded from across all states in the USA.
This is an incredible result in the eCommerce space where the competition and bar are very high. Also, considering that we were a brand new company with zero products on our shelves, this was very remarkable.
Above all, Studio Mosaic took HQ Demand as their own company. They were not focused on impressing us by scaling up the downloads and signup unnecessarily. They were focused on quality over quantity at all times and that was very appreciated as that results to great engagement on our platform.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Our engagement with Studio Mosaic's team was very smooth and probably the best so far with all agencies we have worked with from development firms to accounting firms, etc. Communication was on point, reports were detailed and turned in on time, meetings were excellent.

I almost forgot this part, before the project started, Studio Mosaic audited our app and gave recommendation on areas of improvement for better user experience and all.
Their audit was worth all the marketing expenses. It was very thorough and they even helped test it as we fixed each of it multiple times. They were not just a third party company to us, they were our team.

As our business model is subscription-based, we’ve seen year-over-year growth. Studio Mosaic definitely helped maintain that growth of general revenue.

Studio Mosaic never missed a beat. Every Monday morning, we got a summary email of the previous week’s work. Every Tuesday we'd have a follow-up call to go over metrics. They did everything we asked them to do, and went above and beyond to perform for us.

Their communication was most impressive. They were so well-organized and easy to deal with. We’ve dealt with a lot of other agencies and Studio Mosaic really stands out.

We are a mobile app for dog lovers. It’s basically a social networking app. Some of the main features are locating dog friendly services on a GPS enabled map and offering available dogs for adoption both domestically and internationally.

What challenge were you trying to address with Studio Mosaic?
The main goal was to build our brand and acquire users. We had two different phases of our business strategy. One was to build our brand in terms of how do we establish our social media presence, how do we advertise to potential users, and how do we get them excited about the launching of the app. We wanted to ultimately keep users engaged.

What was the scope of their involvement?
In phase one, which we started back in July 2017, we did a lot of social media marketing campaigns. They managed all of the ad campaigns across different platforms like Facebook and Instagram. They made sure we acquired followers and they did a fantastic job with that. We got over 40,000 followers on the Facebook page and some followed on Instagram. They really helped with the campaign part of getting people excited for the app launch that would follow a few months later.
They helped us come up with an app store optimization strategy. They focused on the keywords that were trending the app stores that were also relevant to the app and our users.
They also prepared the app store video as well as the screenshots. They prepared the description of the app and worked extensively within the app itself as a user to research what key features should be highlighted in the app store descriptions.
Along with putting together the app store images and video materials, they also put together a presentation for me that gave product feedback. From an external user perspective, they told us what things could be improved on the user interface, the UX, and the functionality of the app itself.
What is the team composition?
We mostly communicate with their CEO, COO, and their ad manager.
How did you come to work with Studio Mosaic?
I think they originally found me through Angel.co. The founder sent me an email with their services and at that time, I was looking for someone that was experienced in working with apps and launching them worldwide.

We’ve gained 40,000 Facebook followers because of their campaign. It’s been great for our brand and has established an overall social presence. We’ve had engagement on our Facebook page too.
We currently have 1,800 active users on the app right now, and a lot of that came from their strategic acquisition through the Apple search ads. In the beginning, we started acquiring users at $2–$3 each. But Mosaic was able to optimize and get it down to under $1.

They're project management is great. We do a weekly marketing call and they also give me weekly updates through their ad manager. They give product feedback as well.
Overall, any issue that’s come up, they've been pretty responsive. The time difference of them being in India hasn’t been an issue at all.

We had an initial project in India that we ran with another marketing agency, and we wanted to expand our India footprint. We were looking to increase online growth picked up through social media.

Our method of growth in India is through social media, so that is what we needed assistance with. Studio Mosaic is driving user acquisition through social media channels, mainly on Facebook and AdWords. Since we took them on in India, we have also expanded to working with them in Nigeria.

I found references to them online and did a little bit of research. They seemed highly recommended by a couple of places online, but it was quite sketchy in terms of detail. They picked up our growth rate in India significantly from the very start. They've also improved their performance throughout and been able to tie in with new markets. We’ve kept them to a very limited geographic space, so that has impacted the returns that we’re getting on investment. Obviously, we have a strategic reason for this, but we’ve been very impressed with the result we’re getting and the continual improvement in cost per install and numbers.
How did Studio Mosaic perform from a project management standpoint?
They are one of the service providers we’ve used that we’ve been most impressed with. They did what we asked them to do, and they did it efficiently. The scope of work is not very big, but they’re doing the job well. We’ve had no problems with them hitting deadlines at all. They have an open Slack channel and they also interact with our local social media team. I chat with them and they give good feedback. When they have issues, they ask; when I ask them questions, they’re very responsive.
What did you find most impressive about Studio Mosaic?
I’ve worked with a few agencies who are of a bigger size and claim to be able to do more things excellently. However, with the work we’ve done with Studio Mosaic, they seem to be very good. They haven’t overpromised and underdelivered. They’ve been able to do what they said they would do — that’s really impressive.

Not really. We kept the relationship focused. At the moment, because of where we are now in the development cycle, we’re not really interested in expanding. Because they’ve been good at working with our narrow focus, we haven’t really had any issues.

It worked very well. We worked remotely and communicated across, skype, IM, and email. We had weekly scheduled meetings and reports along with ad hoc as necessary.

I’m the managing partner of SideMoney, a get-paid-to site hosting tasks, videos, surveys, and games. People can complete different items in order to earn points and redeem them for gift cards or cash. We’re located in New York City and have 3 partners, as well as a 15-person team for the Facebook marketing, design, development, and accounting.

We were launching a mobile application and needed a team to help with our marketing efforts.

What was the scope of their involvement?
Studio Mosaic created marketing images and helped propose the keywords for our app descriptions and marketing materials on iOS and Android. They also assisted with the submission process for app stores. After we launched, they qualified our app every month so that it would remain in the store and updated our marketing material.
How did you come to work with Studio Mosaic?
I found them on Upwork and liked the pricing they offered. As an Indian team, they also could speak English well. I couldn’t deal with other providers from that region because of the language barrier. Studio Mosaic was prompt and responded to us when we needed a conference call. They were very knowledgeable about the space.

Studio Mosaic helped me get the application into app stores. They delivered on results, ensuring that we were following the procedures required for each store, which was all we asked from them. Studio Mosaic didn’t directly affect our sales and downloads. The rest was left up to us, which was why we stopped working with Studio Mosaic. We didn’t need their services anymore, but they delivered everything on time.
How did Studio Mosaic perform from a project management standpoint?
We chose Studio Mosaic largely because of their good performance in terms of communication. They delivered on time, and when I asked questions, they responded appropriately. We communicated via email, Skype, and phone.
What did you find most impressive about Studio Mosaic?
They’re definitely knowledgeable about the space. I didn’t take full advantage of Studio Mosaic because I have people within my team who have similar expertise. For a provider with such low prices, it’s refreshing to find that they can also follow through and provide what we need.
Are there any areas Studio Mosaic could improve?
I can’t think of anything I’d change. I was happy with Studio Mosaic, but I didn’t use them to their full capacity.

Even though Studio Mosaic was a company, the team there didn’t behave like one. The owner behaved like an individual contractor. That’s what I was looking for. He provided everything I was looking for. His communication skills were very good and he reached out to me with questions, which I loved. I didn’t have to ask what was going on, which is a huge positive.

What is the status of this engagement?
We’re still talking about things. He’s not working on anything right now. We started 11 months ago.

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?
Before using Studio Mosaic, we struggled to find a distribution channel that would work. We had five to 10 downloads per day. The minute he put his keywords in, we jumped up to 25 a day. While he was working on the SEO [search engine optimization], we went from 25 to 150 a day. Now we’re in the 300 - 400 range.
How did Studio Mosaic perform from a project management standpoint?
Great. For the stuff that he advertised, I would give him 5/5. There were some things he didn’t advertise that we had him do anyway, which was the other languages they could produce work in.

The thing that distinguishes them is the personal touch. The communication is amazing and informal.
Are there any areas Studio Mosaic could improve?
No. I think they’re a slam dunk for working with big or small companies, especially small companies because they need the attention that Studio Mosaic gives.
