Second, we provided their team with a set of images and videos for objects labeling. We were particularly interested in the amount of greenery on the images with crops. Our tech specialist worked closely with the data scientists until we formulated the accurate criteria for the model building.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I was the business development director of Aziot, an IoT software platform. We provide customized solutions based on our platform for home and office automation.

For what projects/services did your company hire Softengi?
We needed help with cloud software, mobile application, and hardware development, including firmware.
What were your goals for this project?
We wanted to build an IoT solution that supported main industry protocols and standards, could be scaled to up to 10,000,000 devices in one configuration, and would ensure security.

How did you select this vendor?
We performed an MVP project with several companies and decided to go with Softengi.

They developed all the components we needed including cloud-based, server-side software, private cloud deployment, and web, iOS, and Android applications. Hardware design was also part of the scope and consisted of an IoT hub based on an ARM computer, wired and wireless IoT communications, and different sensors and actuators.
What was the team composition?
We worked with 6–12 people, depending on what stage of the project we were in.

Their management was well organized and featured good reporting. We used Jira, GitHub, Skype, and in-person meetings to keep the process running smoothly.

What challenge were you trying to address with Softengi?
We had constrained resources internally, so we were looking for a good option to augment our internal development team.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
They work closely with our in-house team on the same sprint schedule, doing a lot of the development work in React. We provide them with the wireframes and, in many cases, a fully functional UI prototype. They're working off of the prototypes and our shared Jira account where they can see all the backlog items.
What is the team composition?
We have one main point of contact and they've assigned a team of 3–4 developers and a QA person to us.

Someone from our company had worked with them previously and recommended them.

We've spent over $100,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with them in February 2018 and the relationship is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
They do quality work, so we plan to continue working with them. They're also great at identifying potential issues with the UI prototypes that we haven't even seen in the backlog.
How did Softengi perform from a project management standpoint?
We use scrum methodology. We started with an overall project-based approach with them, so we had a specific set of deliverables. After the first project, we decided to make them part of the sprint, so now they’re basically part of our team and take on more tasks. In addition to Jira, we use Shared Instance, weekly video conferences, and email to communicate.
What did you find most impressive about them?
We've been very pleased with the quality of their work and their responsiveness.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I can't think of anything.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Give them as much information about the project as you can. We shared our backlog, wireframes, and UI prototypes with them, so they could see what we were trying to do before we even started our development efforts.
