OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What specific goals or objectives did you hire Slam Media Lab to accomplish?
Hand off a site that our lean, non-technical team could actually manage ourselves, without having to call someone every time we needed to update a portfolio company or add a team member

Rebuild our website into a structured, multi-page experience that clearly separates our two fund strategies (the Collective Fund and the Construction Fund), without losing the brand identity we'd already established
Fix a mobile experience that just wasn't working for us. We were showing the site at conferences and it was embarrassing

Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.
When we first came to Slam, our site was basically a very static site and it wasn't doing us any favors. Kyle and Silvia helped us think through the full structure before a single design was touched (wireframes, sitemap, content architecture) so by the time we got to design, everyone was already aligned on where we were headed. The rebuilt site runs on Webflow and includes a homepage with an announcement banner (which we used to debut Fund 2), an About section with dedicated pages for each of our fund strategies, a team page with fund-based filtering, a portfolio page organized by sector, and a blog. Everything is CMS-driven, which means our team can go in and update portfolio companies, team bios, and posts without any outside help. Kyle walked us through it all in a full training session at the end of the project, which made the handoff feel seamless. We also brought Slam in for a separate deliverable midway through, a branded brochure for our GS Day event in Seoul. They produced both a print-ready tri-fold and a digital presentation deck, working fast enough to hit our international print deadline. The final product was polished enough that it doubled as our managing partner's presentation material at the event. On the technical side, Slam handled full SEO setup, Google Analytics and Search Console configuration, and all the CMS collections for team, portfolio, blog, and media mentions.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
The site launched right in time for GS Day in Korea, and I can honestly say watching people pull it up on their phones at the event and actually be impressed was one of the best moments of the project. Mobile had been our biggest complaint about the old site, and that problem is completely gone. We now have a site that does justice to both of our fund strategies and gives founders and partners the context they need when they land on it. The CMS setup has also made a real difference day-to-day, we can manage our own content, which for a lean team like ours is a big deal.
Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?
The delays in this project were largely on our end. We had team members traveling internationally, internal alignment that took time, and we were trying to pull assets from our parent company in Korea, which turned out to be way harder than expected. Through all of that, Kyle stayed patient, kept things organized, and never made us feel like we were falling behind. He sent Loom walkthroughs when he wanted to share design decisions asynchronously, came to every call with clear next steps, and always gave us options when he knew decisions needed to go up to leadership. That flexibility made a real difference for a team like ours.
What was your primary form of communication with Slam Media Lab?
Virtual Meeting
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
The team has the ability to take something complex, two parallel fund structures, brand guidelines tied to a major Korean conglomerate, a team that's spread across time zones and constantly traveling, and just make it manageable. They never lost the thread of the project. And the proactive ideas they brought to the table, like suggesting the media kit concept early on and building out CMS instructions so we'd be self-sufficient post-launch, showed that he was thinking about the long game, not just getting to the finish line.
Are there any areas for improvement or something Slam Media Lab could have done differently?
Honestly, nothing meaningful comes to mind. This was a longer project than any of us originally planned, but that was on us more than them. Slam stayed committed and flexible the whole way through, and the work speaks for itself! They were rockstars.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What specific goals or objectives did you hire Slam Media Lab to accomplish?
Create a digital platform that helps spiritual innovators feel less isolated and find the resources, community, and support they need—addressing spiritual, relational, and practical needs through an intuitive "choose your own adventure" experience with pathways based on how people are actually feeling (lonely, burned out, needing funding, etc.)

Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.
Slam Media Lab delivered a comprehensive project to transform how we serve spiritual innovators globally. The work began with a discovery process to understand our field—leaders working at intersections of tradition and innovation who often feel isolated because they don't have obvious peer groups. Kyle and Silvia helped us shift from abstract organizing principles to user-centered language based on how people actually feel: lonely, burned out, needing funding, wanting to grow. This strategic foundation shaped the work that followed.
The platform itself includes a "choose your own adventure" experience with nine pathways based on felt needs, each featuring pastoral accompaniment copy that makes people feel seen, curated resource recommendations, and connections to directory profiles. We built a searchable resource library with hundreds of tools and frameworks, filterable by format and topic, plus a directory of spiritual innovators with profiles and onboarding flows. Kyle was thoughtful about keeping the design content-focused—given how text-heavy the platform is, visual elements serve the user experience rather than decorating for decoration's sake. Through collaborative iterations, we developed a portal metaphor as our unifying visual language: organic, structural illustrations with bold warm colors (deep golds, cayenne, rich aubergines) that feel alive without being overwhelming.
Slam also produced 9 partner interview videos, created brand collateral and templates, and built everything in Webflow and Airtable with full CMS capabilities. They were extremely responsive throughout the process, made space for all our voices, and stayed flexible when unexpected changes arose while keeping momentum. They delivered a nimble and functional platform that helps spiritual innovators to be less alone and find the resources they need, while honoring the depth of this work.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
The platform fundamentally changed how we serve spiritual innovators. Before, people would find us and email, hoping we'd respond quickly or happen to know the right person or resource for them. We unintentionally became the only path to connection and support, which wasn't scalable or aligned with our vision. Now innovators can discover resources, connect with peers, and find mentors or funding opportunities directly through the platform. The community can support itself without depending on our individual capacity to make introductions and connections.
The pathways based on felt needs—loneliness, burnout, funding challenges, growth—immediately resonate with users. People see themselves in these categories rather than trying to translate their experience. The portal metaphor and visual identity successfully convey depth and belonging through organic illustrations and bold, warm colors that feel structural yet soulful. The design honors the spiritual nature of this work while being accessible and modern, and it works across diverse audiences
Our small team can manage everything independently through the Webflow CMS—adding resources, updating profiles, and maintaining the platform without technical expertise. The launch was successful with over 700 people signing up for our webinar. Our advisory groups gave very positive feedback during testing, and the response from the field has been that this is genuinely useful. The platform creates a space where spiritual innovators feel less alone and can find what they need, which was our goal from the beginning.
Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?
Kyle and Silvia's project management was exceptional, especially given the complexity of the project. They used Notion and Slack for project tracking with clear phases and deliverables, sent detailed follow-up emails after every meeting summarizing decisions and next steps, and were responsive via Slack and email. When we had questions or needed to talk something through, they'd jump on calls quickly.
What impressed us most was how they handled the iterative nature of design work. This wasn't a linear process—we went through multiple rounds on the visual identity, page design, and platform structure. Kyle was patient through all of it, creating new mood boards and design explorations without ever making us feel like we were being difficult. They were also remarkably flexible with our team's availability. Our team had different schedules and were sometimes traveling or dealing with other deadlines. Slam worked around our constraints, scheduled meetings that worked across time zones, and when we needed to pause for our grant writing deadlines, they adjusted the timeline without complaint. They built in time for us to test the platform with our three advisory groups (global advisers, technical advisers, US field leaders) and incorporated that feedback smoothly.
What was your primary form of communication with Slam Media Lab?

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
We had never built a website this big or that needed to be this nimble, functional, and interactive. We were drawn to Slam because of their web development experience and the fact that they were undaunted about the development aspects of this project, and they were clear from the beginning that they would build us a platform we could run ourselves. They focused on functionality and kept things from getting too complicated in the back end. We really appreciated how engaged Kyle and Silvia were and how much they cared about getting things right. They were also extremely adaptable as the project evolved during the engagement, adding elements like video interviews that were not part of the original scope. Kyle had a personal loss in the middle of the project, and Silvia stepped up despite her other commitments and kept everything moving seamlessly.
They were highly responsive, collaborative partners. Our team has strong opinions and different perspectives, and Slam made space for all our voices. They were patient through our internal decision-making, helped us consolidate feedback efficiently, and shared expert input at key intervals to help us make the best choices. The detailed follow-up emails after every meeting kept everyone aligned.
Are there any areas for improvement or something Slam Media Lab could have done differently?
We had an excellent experience working with Slam Media Lab. Their leadership was strongest in web development and web design. In terms of visual design, they were more responsive. Kyle was very skilled at building out everything we needed, but he would be first to say that he is not an illustrator. We ended up hiring an illustrator to develop images that he incorporated into the site. If you are looking for a site that is art-forward, you will want to plan on commissioning a visual artist to support the work with Slam.

Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.
Slam Media Lab took our PowerBroker 360 curriculum and completely transformed how it looks and feels. When we first reached out, we honestly just thought we needed someone to make sure things were the same size and fix page numbers. What Kyle delivered was so much more than that—it's beautiful, it's consistent, and it actually reflects the strength of what we're teaching. The project started with a brand sprint where Kyle helped us clarify our tone, visual direction, and what we wanted to keep versus what needed to evolve. He developed a custom color palette designed specifically for PowerBroker 360, presented font pairing options that felt strong and professional, and created initial design treatments that showed us the direction and style. Everything felt aligned with the mindset we teach—power, ownership, work ethic, and resilience. Kyle didn't just make things look nice; he made sure the visual identity reflected the substance of our program. Kyle designed 35 custom Canva templates for our slides including covers, reflection pages, section dividers, prompts, and more. These weren't just pretty—they were thoughtfully structured so our team could easily plug in content and maintain consistency. The templates are functional, beautiful, and built for us to scale as the program grows. He then took approximately 200 existing slides and adapted them into the new design system. This was tedious work—especially doing page numbers manually one by one in Canva, which we won't talk about—but he handled it with patience and care. The content flow we had built stayed intact, but now it looks inviting, clear, and guides itself visually. Everything was packaged with brand colors, fonts, and usage notes so our team could manage updates independently. Kyle also showed us the process for swapping elements like QR codes and making design adjustments on our own, which was incredibly helpful. The result is a curriculum that looks as professional and impactful as the content inside. We didn't know what to expect when we started, but where we ended up exceeded our imagination.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
The curriculum now looks as strong as the mindset we're teaching. Before, the content was solid but the presentation didn't match the quality of what we were offering young athletes. Now, everything feels cohesive, professional, and intentional. The visual consistency helps guide students through the material, and the design actually supports the learning experience rather than distracting from it.
Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?
Slam's project management was seamless from start to finish. From our first conversation with Silvia and Kyle, through the entire process working primarily with Kyle, everything felt easygoing and organized. He was responsive, creative in his thinking, and offered insights we hadn't considered from a visual perspective. The collaborative part of the process really stood out. Kyle would show us options and explain his reasoning rather than just telling us what wouldn't work. For example, when we wanted to try something that might not translate well visually, he'd say "let me show you what it looks like" rather than just shutting it down. We appreciated that approach—it helped us learn and make better decisions together. Kyle also stayed flexible when our timeline shifted. We went a little beyond the original timeline, but he was patient and committed to getting everything right. He never made us feel rushed, and he genuinely cared about the final product. When we needed to pause or adjust, he accommodated without complaint.
What was your primary form of communication with Slam Media Lab?

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
What stood out most was how much Slam cared about getting this right. They didn't just treat this like another design project, they took time to understand what we were building, who we were serving, and why it mattered. Even though he admitted upfront that he wasn't that versed in sports, he learned alongside us and brought all our expertise together into something better than we could have created separately. We felt like part of the team, not just a hired designer. Kyle from Slam had ownership over the project and was genuinely invested in the outcome. We were afraid that the content flow wouldn't land in the new design, Kyle knocked it out of the park and even taught her something about how flexible content can be when design supports it properly. His creativity was remarkable. We came in thinking we needed basic formatting help, and Kyle transformed our vision into something we didn't even know was possible. The way he combined design and education, creating something that's both beautiful and functional for learning, showed real expertise and thoughtfulness. He was also just incredibly pleasant to work with. Patient, collaborative, responsive, and always willing to jump on calls or answer questions. It felt like working with someone who genuinely enjoyed the work and wanted us to succeed.
Are there any areas for improvement or something Slam Media Lab could have done differently?
Honestly, we had an excellent experience. Slam delivered everything we asked for and then some. The iterative process worked really well—we shared feedback throughout, and Kyle from Slam incorporated it thoughtfully while explaining his design decisions along the way. If anything, we wish we had reached out to Slam sooner. We spent too long trying to figure out the design ourselves when we should have just brought in experts from the start. This whole process reminded us that sometimes you need to trust the professionals and let them do what they do best.

Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.
Slam Media Lab completely redesigned our website from the ground up. We started with a brand discovery process where Silvia and Kyle really took the time to understand our business, our values, and who we're trying to reach. They presented three different mood board directions with distinct visual styles and helped us figure out which approach felt right for us. From there, they created detailed wireframes for every page—homepage, about, our service pages for cut & stack labels and folding cartons, sustainability, case studies, contact forms, and more. The design they came up with is bold and colorful, with really nice scroll animations that make the site feel modern and engaging. They used clean typography and lots of white space, so our products and certifications really stand out. They built everything in Webflow, which has been easy to manage so far compared to WordPress. The new site is fully responsive, includes a flexible CMS for our case studies and blog, has integrated contact forms that connect to HubSpot for lead management, and even includes a scheduling system for our receiving appointments. They handled all the technical SEO setup—meta tags, redirects, Google Analytics, Search Console—and trained us on how to update and manage the site ourselves. The result is a website that actually represents who we are as a company and positions us as leaders in sustainable packaging innovation.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
The new website has made a huge difference in how we present ourselves online. The bold, modern design immediately grabs attention and the interactive elements keep people engaged as they explore our services. We've gotten really positive feedback from both our team and our clients—everyone loves how contemporary and professional it looks while still feeling approachable and true to our brand.
The site now accurately showcases our competitive advantages through clear data visualization and messaging about our certifications and capabilities. The improved navigation and faster load times make for a much better user experience. We can easily publish new case studies and thought leadership content thanks to the flexible CMS, which helps us stay active and relevant. The streamlined quote request process has made it easier for prospects to reach out, and the whole platform gives enterprise clients the confidence and trust they're looking for when choosing a packaging partner.
Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?
Silvia and Kyle were incredibly communicative and organized throughout the project. They kept us on track with a clear timeline, so we always knew what phase we were in and what was coming next, or if there were any delays. All our meetings had agendas sent ahead of time, and they'd send Loom video walkthroughs when they wanted to walk us through wireframes or designs asynchronously.
What really impressed me was how flexible and patient they were. We had to pause the project for a bit due to some internal issues. When our owner Bryan wanted to iterate on certain design elements, they stayed enthusiastic and committed to getting every detail exactly right. They were always quick to respond to emails and happy to jump on calls whenever we had questions. They also anticipated our needs really well—like suggesting we clarify our service structure early on, or recommending the best placement for our certifications to make the biggest impact.

Slam Media Lab started by crafting a brand identity that reflects the essence of CJAM’s values, including a refreshed font, refined color palette, and a cohesive brand system that authentic represents our mission. From there, they designed a dynamic, visually engaging website featuring interactive elements including scroll-based animations and hover effects to draw attention to our work and our website. To maximize online visibility, Slam incorporated SEO best practices and set up Google Analytics and Search Console. They also made sure the site met accessibility standards across the board!
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Our aim was to design a new website that is uniquely identifiable and that marks a clear and refined departure from the minimalist way we branded CJAM previously. We wanted to foreground an elevated CJAM brand identity, while showcasing the dynamism of our clients equally - and SLAM did exactly that! It’s dynamic, beautiful, and uses colors in a way that feels both modern and true to our identity. The interactive elements make it engaging and keep visitors exploring longer, which has already led to more meaningful interactions and inquiries.
Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?
The SLAM team insisted on continual and open communication. Their process was action oriented and client-centered. They were clear-eyed about approach, yet they followed our lead. They listened, responded, asked-questions, explored new options, innovated, pivoted, exercised patience, pushed us out of our comfort zone, and always ensured that the process and product met with CJAM's standards and expectations. They delivered excellence. Their well-organized approach and dedication made the entire process among the most rewarding design partnerships we've had.

Peter and Silvia really listened to what I wanted—they took our feedback, applied it thoughtfully, and weren’t afraid to play around with ideas until we got it just right. They have a really strong ability to synthesize multiple streams of thought, interpret inputs from different platforms and inspiration, and render them in the product design. It took us some time to get there, but I truly appreciated how much the team pushed to make sure every detail aligned with our vision. Their commitment to getting it right was unwavering, and it showed in the final product.
Are there any areas for improvement or something Slam Media Lab could have done differently?

Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.
We kicked off the project by working closely with Slam on brand discovery, where we figured out the direction of the website. We added our values, examples, and non-examples. The team then went to work on a mood board to show the visual direction of our website. This exercise was followed by working on wireframes to lay out the website's structure and how each page would connect with each other.
Slam started crafting initial designs and iterating based on our sometimes very specific feedback. Once we were happy with the look, they got to work on the development phase, transforming mockups into a satisfying web experience.
They paid close attention to detail, ensuring everything met accessibility standards and were responsive for all devices. Integrations with our email service provider, CRM, and analytics tools were set up seamlessly. Slam also took care of the technical aspects, including SEO and site speed optimization, to ensure we had a smooth and successful launch. Due to their agility and dedication, our site launch had no setbacks. Post-launch tweaks were very few and addressed quickly.
The biggest challenge was the content migration process, consisting of over a thousand pieces of content that ranged from articles and press mentions, to statistics, and research reports. Slam helped us decide how to archive and organize the content, and made sure every last piece of our valuable resources got smoothly migrated into the new platform.

They made sure to hop on video calls with us every week, which really helped keep things on track. They got things done fast and with precision.

We partnered with Slam to help us upgrade and design our existing brand, designing a new website layout on both desktop and mobile that align with our CTAs and goals. We started the process with a brand discovery process where we included examples of websites we liked and didn’t like.
Slam took that and created a mood board with the direction we were looking for! After a couple rounds of feedback, they started designing our homepage and included illustrations along the way, while showing us how our brand could evolve! The final deliverable was a Figma file with both desktop and mobile for our developers to implement!

Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.
We wanted our new website to be very visual and impactful. Our engagement started with a Brand Discovery Document, where we were guided through the process of breaking down our vision into concepts that the design team could later translate into colors, shapes, and design ideations. From the very beginning, we were able to describe our expectations thoroughly to make sure the Slam team would be able to bring them to reality. We kept the navigation simple at this stage, with a single page divided into single sections. The whole design process was carried out in constant collaboration between both teams, making it possible for us to provide feedback every step of the way. We were first presented with low-fidelity wireframes, and once those were approved, the Slam team was able to move forward with mock-ups. They also provided us with a document where we could insert all website copy to make the building process smoother. We requested additional visual assets for social and operational purposes, such as social media campaign templates and pitch decks, and these were delivered quickly for us to use post-launch. Lastly, we scheduled a meeting to discuss final feedback and were ready to launch.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
As soon as we launched, we received several comments from partners and other contacts congratulating us on our new image. Having a brand new website as beautiful as ours gave our organization an elevated image overall that boosted our reputation and credibility.
