The objective of the project was to collect and ingest social media marketing data and statistics, as well as sales data, into a data warehouse for analysis. The purpose of this analysis was to examine the impact of social media marketing on the sales of the company's products.

ShopDev was responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of the data collected and ingested, as well as performing the necessary data engineering tasks to support the analysis. The ultimate goal was to provide insights that would help improve the company's social media marketing strategy and increase sales.

Unfortunately, our experience with ShopDev did not meet our expectations in terms of project management. The project was not delivered on time, within budget, or to the expected level of quality. Communication with their team was often difficult and their responses were not always timely or satisfactory. We also found that their team was not properly equipped to meet our needs and lacked the necessary expertise to deliver the project as promised.

In addition, we were disappointed with their management of the project and their lack of concern for employee satisfaction. We noticed that their employees were often unsatisfied and that they had broken promises with their team members, which made it difficult for us to work with them effectively. As a result, we would not recommend their project management services to other businesses.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Given the issues we experienced with ShopDev, we did not find any particularly impressive or unique aspects of the company. While they offered a cheaper rate, this came at a cost to the quality of their services and their treatment of employees. We were disappointed to find that their team was not properly compensated for their work, and that the company kept a major portion of the payment for themselves.

This raised concerns for us about their ethics and integrity as a business. Overall, we found that ShopDev did not meet our expectations and would not recommend their services to other businesses. While a cheaper rate may seem attractive, it is important to consider the quality of services being offered and the treatment of employees before making a decision. In this case, we were disappointed to find that ShopDev fell short on both of these fronts.

In our experience, there were several areas where Shopdev could have improved their services. One of the main areas of concern was their treatment of employees, particularly their compensation and support during the difficult economic conditions in Pakistan.

Additionally, we found that communication with Shopdev was often challenging, and their team was not always responsive to our needs or concerns.

This made it difficult for us to track progress on the project and provide feedback in a timely manner. We would have appreciated more frequent and proactive communication from their team to ensure that the project was on track and that any issues were addressed promptly. Overall, we believe that there is room for improvement in several areas of Shopdev's services.

While we appreciate their lower rates, we would encourage them to prioritize the needs of their employees and to improve communication with clients to ensure a smoother and more effective project delivery process.

The Shopdev team that handled our project was well structured including a project manager who was our main source of contact, in addition they had multiple PowerBI experts and developers working with us.

They offered a high caliber of highly skilled data engineers. In the beginning, we had to make adjustments on a weekly basis and the team was exceptionally responsive to these changes.

Over the last two decades, we have generated massive amounts of data which was available in different clusters and required more efficient and effective availability to help us make informed decisions for the business and our clients.

After having that ETL pipeline developed, we are now able to draw powerful insights.

Project management was the key to our project as we needed to have a secure and efficient way of communication and required in-time delivery, which was surely made possible by the team at Shopdev.

We had been to most of the well known names in the industry, and had one bad experience after the other. So trust levels were low. The CEO of an e-commerce giant had very high praise for Mr. Ali Aziz, which is why I went to him initially.

Later, turned out he was very close to some of my family members, who too only had words of praise for him. I did some research on their past projects, and spent some time with the team to finally make up my mind. Wasn't hard to decide that I was going to go for Shopistan.

Time will tell. Our website just launched. We continue to work with them daily post client feedback. So far so good. Long way to go to achieve the larger than life ambitions that we have.

The 1 reason that I respect this organisation so much is that they don't lead you to a path which might be convenient for them to execute. I have seen their senior management actually tell off the juniors if they ever tried to take a short cut.

They acknowledge real problems, and do not misguide you even when they easily could.

I think our project was unique. It was unlike anything Pakistan has seen before, and so there were lots of things both parties could have done better. However, it is easy to look at them in hindsight.

We have doubled our revenue in 2020, setting a new benchmark for our company despite having lockdown and delayed deliveries due to COVID-19. Also, managing inventory through Omnichannel engine across different stores and warehouses has been really smooth.
