We hired Seer to run a PPC campaign on Google for 6 of our degree programs, utilizing a specific monthly budget. Our goal was to generate as many leads as possible given our limited budget and lowering cost per conversion year-over-year. We also asked Seer to provide SEO guidance on two existing degree program pages on our website and provide SEO content outlines for two new degree programs that we will launch in the future.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Seer provides monthly reports via Looker Studio that show how our campaigns and pages are performing on Google search. We have seen year-over-year improvements in lead generation through our PPC campaign, and improvements in page 1 rankings on Google. Seer has also helped us stand out in AI overview, with significant improvements in traffic to our site through AI services.

Seer is very prompt in sending deliverables to me. Reports arrive on the first and sixth of each month that clearly outline campaign performance. We also review those reports through our monthly meetings.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Seer Interactive has a vast amount of knowledge of web search, which is the primary driver of business for our institution. They are able to pinpoint issues on our site and help us make corrections that help us see measurable improvement.

Seer started out with an SEO and technical audit. We also went through Segment data to go through our cohorts to identify creative opportunities for marketing. They advised on technical and on-page SEO fixes, opportunities to rank for (unexpected) keywords, and conducted a full data analysis. They also did copywriting and helped write and edit blog posts.

Improved SEO (site speed, search ranking, etc), deliverables produced (including data strategy deck with discrete tactics; blog posts; written content)

They always delivered on time, sometimes ahead of schedule. I prefer to work asynchronously and to have client work in writing, so after a few kickoff calls and occasional touch-base meetings, we communicated mainly over email.

Their approach to data. They truly understand it, know how to look for it, and know how to ask and answer questions about it.

No. They adjusted to my desired style of communication. Perhaps it's ideal for them too, I'm not sure.

We were shuffled across teams, as our primary account managers kept getting fired.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The experience our company had with Seer was extremely disappointing, and I've never in my 10+ year career experienced the kind of petulant, belligerent behavior that was exhibited by the owner of Seer. During the first 6 months of our engagement, two of our account managers were fired, and we had to work with new AMs who were not familiar with our accounts and made constant mistakes.

When we called them out on the disappointing handling of the teams we worked with, and the poor quality of work and the owner of the agency terminated our contract, citing that we were not nice to them. I very strongly recommend against engaging with Seer.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Initially, we had a very positive experience with our original account manager. From there, it went downhill fast.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They are very responsive.

I imagine the problem at Seer starts at the top. Lack of effective leadership trickles down.

Seer Interactive has been helping us with Google Ads, Google Performance Max campaigns, SEO engagement, reporting, project management, and industry updates. The team has been focusing on our degree programs to increase brand visibility and enrollment.

We started working together in January 2020, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Seer Interactive's work has resulted in improved search result positions. One of their paid ad campaigns has been responsible for over 50% of our leads, and organic traffic is responsible for over 25% of our leads. Overall, I appreciate their professionalism, attention to detail, and industry knowledge of the current landscape and the future of search.

How did Seer Interactive perform from a project management standpoint?

Seer Interactive delivers on time and is responsive when it comes to project management. We use Basecamp and scheduled meetings to communicate.
