We contacte Seeed to quickly spin up a custom website for one of our customers. This website was to leverage a private (alpha) API that would eventually be built into a product that our comapny offered, but was not available yet. We wanted it to be spun up quickly, in line with customer expectations, with an extremely high level of security.

I’m the CMO of Anthology Brands, Inc., an e-commerce company.

What challenge were you trying to address with Seeed?
We deal with a lot of different technologies online to facilitate the sales of our products. We needed help in utilizing the latest technologies to maximize our conversions.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Seeed helped us migrate from WooCommerce to BigCommerce. They also helped us migrate hundreds of thousands of orders in that process. The entire process involved a lot of heavy lifting and database mapping, which they did an impeccable job of.
I still have Seeed on a maintenance contract, so we still work together on an as-needed basis.
What is the team composition?
I’ve worked with six people from Seeed, including developers, the owner, and a project manager. The developers were responsible for different things: one is responsible for the subscription service that they've developed, another has intimate knowledge of the WordPress WooCommerce platform, and another has big commerce platform experience.
How did you come to work with Seeed?
I was introduced to Roland (Owner) many years ago — we met at the Internet Retail conference in Chicago. We had a great conversation, and we both saw an opportunity for collaboration.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent somewhere between $50,000–$200,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in June 2018, and the engagement is ongoing.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
I've seen a significant improvement in our platform's speed and ease of use, which effectively streamlined all our internal processes and solved the main issue that I had with the previous platforms that I was on. Seeed has also done a great job of making everything as simple as possible for our customers and us.
How did Seeed perform from a project management standpoint?
Seeed has performed well in terms of project management. They’re excellent at meeting deadlines and managing our expectations. Any time I need anything at all from Seeed, I've got instant communication with their whole team via Slack. I just need to drop things into Slack, and the appropriate person will hop on to help me, whether it's related to the e-commerce platform or it's related to a server issue, a subscription issue, or a checkout issue.
Overall, what I've experienced from Seeed is that they are at my service, and that's how they treat all their clients, from what I’ve experienced.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Seeed’s timing and ability to address issues as they come up are impeccable. I also appreciate the many different ideas from the Seeed team that I didn’t even know were possible — they opened my eyes to so much more possibilities and helped me find the best possible scenarios for my sites.
For example, we could have gone with other platforms, but the BigCommerce platform seemed to suit our needs better than any other one out there. Seeed's assessment brought that to light, and I can already see the pitfalls of the other platforms that they had suggested I avoid.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, I have no complaints.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
The more detailed the spec you can hand them, the better your end product is going to be. Make sure that you think thoroughly through the spec that you're presenting. I found that Roland is a solid listener, and he will find things that you haven't addressed.
