Dogdayz were targeting a substantial acceleration of their growth trajectory. One of the 3 sites had extremely poor local brand awareness and the others were operating well below capacity. 

The brief was to dramatically increase brand awareness across the Greater Melbourne region, particularly in the West, and then convert consumers who were ready to buy into leads. 

The deliverables were:

A completely new website, with a refresh of the brand

SEO optimisation

Google Ads campaigns for direct lead generation

Social Media marketing, primarily for brand awareness, that paid for itself from direct leads.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Increase in monthly qualified leads and booking conversions, more specifically:

1. Volume of leads directly contacting us via phone, email and booking form
2. Cost per lead in the $20-30 range
3. Ease of conversion from contact to booking - were they warmed up correctly

Reduction in cost-per-acquisition (CPA) across Google and Meta ads

Growth in local keyword rankings and website traffic from organic search

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The SEO results have been outstanding. SEM and Social have been better than anyone else I have dealt with.

In one of the early months post the new site going live in 2017, there were around 1800 new User Sessions converting at 4.6% to 128 contacts. 

We are now averaging 7,100 new user sessions a month, converting to 708 contacts a month. We convert around 65% of those contacts to bookings. 
Far and away the best digital agency I have ever come across, in an industry famous for overblown promises and poor results. I recommend very few business full stop, but SF are simply reliably very good.
No agency is perfect, but there has been less than a handful of serious issues in 9 years, and the response from SF has been first class.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Salt & Fuessel could have done differently?

We would like to explore other channels like YouTube and TikTok.

Salt & Fuessel has supported us in creating and designing our website. They've managed our digital marketing campaigns and executed our SEM strategies. The team has also managed our Google Ads and social media campaigns and supported key marketing initiatives, such as the MotoGP campaign. Their services have extended to video ad development and the overall management of our digital presence, helping ensure our brand remains competitive and a leader in the niche motorcycle insurance market.

Over the years, they consistently demonstrated a strong grasp of UX, including tools like TestMate and worked closely with us to improve performance outcomes through their insightful reporting. This made them a trusted and valued partner throughout our digital journey.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our partnership with Salt & Fuessel began around July 2015. The engagement will formally conclude in June 2025 as part of broader changes to the Swann Insurance business.

The overall outcome of the project has been highly successful. Salt & Fuessel has helped modernize and strengthen Swann Insurance's digital presence, delivering a refreshed website and effective marketing campaigns that significantly improve customer engagement.

Their SEM strategies and Google Ads campaigns have contributed to increased traffic and lead generation, while their support on major initiatives like the MotoGP campaign has enhanced brand visibility in a competitive market.

As a result, we've seen stronger online performance, better campaign ROI, and a more consistent and professional brand presence across digital channels. Their work has played a key role in maintaining Swann's position as a leader in the niche motorcycle insurance segment.
