What challenge were you trying to address with rtCamp?

We had a website designed by a company in the UK, and it was a disaster. We sell financial research on our website, which we designed using WordPress and WooCommerce. The website had a million problems, including functionality issues, coding issues, and subscription handling problems. It took us months to try fixing everything, but the other agency gave up and said they couldn’t.

Then, we went to another company in the US, and they also made a mess of the project. We needed to fix the website, or our business would be in trouble. The subscription renewals, upgrades, and cancellations weren’t happening properly, and nothing worked. Customers were complaining, and the navigation wasn’t right. The logic and code were wrong, and the website crashed a few times because the server configuration wasn’t right.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

rtCamp has revamped the website, fixed the code, built new functionality, and fixed many errors. The website was already built on WordPress, so they've fixed the code and sorted out all the functionality. They've also helped us send SMS notifications to our customers and fixed all the subscription, coding, and payment issues.

Additionally, they've helped us migrate the website from our previous partner's hosting server to WordPress VIP. Over the next week, they'll redesign the research page for customers behind the paywall and fix the mobile site.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

There are no customer complaints, everything works, and the migration was smooth. The subscriptions, upgrades, and functionality work. The database cleaning they’ve done and the SMS notifications functionality they’ve built are working. If it weren’t for them, my business would have collapsed.

How did rtCamp perform from a project management standpoint?

They know what they're talking about. I’ve interviewed quite a few agencies, and they are nothing compared to rtCamp. They really know the technology and the nuts and bolts of how WordPress and WooCommerce work. They’re miles ahead of anybody else I’ve interviewed.

They migrated the site the day they said they would, and most of the stuff was done promptly. If there’s been a delay, it hasn’t been more than a day or two. We communicate via phone calls, emails, and texts.

I want to give a shout-out to Nazmul; he's excellent. Whenever I reach out to him, he's very responsive and always completes the job on time. I wish more IT people were like him; all professionals would be more like him.

Their knowledge is very good. They’re professional, reliable, and finish everything on time. I can’t speak more highly of them; they’re by far the best web agency I’ve come across.

Tell them what you expect, share the problems, and tell them what needs to be fixed. Give them time to do their stuff, and they’ll do it. You don’t have to change them.

I worked with rtCamp on another project. That project involved transitioning from WordPress to headless Wordpress + Next. The levels of expertise, knowledge and empathy that they brought to that project was an eye-opener. After that experience, it was no contest. Given that our backend is built on Laravel, we knew that no one else that we could work with other than rtCamp.

They demonstrated a high level of engineering skill. For them, it was not just simply about the solution, it was about the quality of the solution and whether it's fit for purpose. They truly demonstrated the difference between programmers and engineers.

I’m a customer technology product manager for a retail company, and I’m in charge of anything that our customers interact with — anything related to technology experience. We didn’t have developers on our team who had experience with WordPress so we were looking for a vendor who specialized in that.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Our blogs sites and our corporate website were hosted on WordPress, and we chose to use that platform because it was very easy to develop and it lived externally from our e-commerce website. We also didn’t want to deal with a lot of complex coding. However, what we had was built on Legacy WordPress platforms. As a result, rtCamp helped us migrate to WordPress VIP so that we could merge all of our blog sites and other platforms.

Most recently, on one of our sites, the team created a lot of custom work for us, migrated all of our existing content, and updated our content to match the new look and feel of our site. They’re currently managing four WordPress sites for us. On top of that, they’re rotating through our backlog of updates and implementing UI enhancements.

Our main goal was really to partner with a dedicated vendor who could support us with WordPress.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We love the look and feel of the site they’ve rebuilt for us. They take care of everything — from app development, site development, maintenance, and monitoring. Overall, the quality of their work is incredible, and I’ve not had any issues with anything they’ve delivered. We’re very happy with what they’ve done, and we plan on renewing our contract next month.

How did rtCamp perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re very easy to work with, and they’re responsive. We have biweekly meetings with them where they give us updates on our project’s status such as the work they’ve completed. More importantly, rtCamp is always available for us; even though they’re based offshore, they always respond whenever we have problems or questions.

In addition, as a product manager, I wear multiple hats so I appreciate that rtCamp has taken on all of the project management tasks related to our partnership. I like being able to just give them work, add items to the backlog, and work with them to prioritize milestones.

rtCamp has a fast turnaround, and they’re quick to give us estimates. They have pretty affordable services, too.
