What challenge were you trying to address with PUSH Collaborative?

We wanted to shift our content and collateral to focus on end-to-end storytelling. We needed to deliver short but also impactful pieces of collateral.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

PUSH helps to create 2–3-minute videos that explain the benefits of our solutions at a high level. Their team creates animated videos that we ultimately feature on our website. So far, they’ve created about 5–6 videos.

In most cases, our product marketers directly work with Rohan (Creative Director) to provide background information on specific products and outline scripts. They then move into storyboarding and reviewing a sample of the video’s ultimate look. We work with their team from inception until the video content's published.

Their team also designed an interactive web page. They helped from the beginning until the end of the project too.

We primarily work with Rohan who’s our main point of contact.

How did you come to work with PUSH Collaborative?

When I joined the organization, our team already worked with Rohan on an animated explainer video. The project was small in scope. We quickly saw the value of that video, so we had a desire to quickly replicate that experience across the rest of our portfolio. Based on that experience, we made the decision to expand our relationship.

How much have you invested with them?

Across the portfolio, we’ve invested about $80,000 this year. We intend to grow even further next year.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started the first project around February 2020 and initially expanded the agreement in April. We recently expanded the engagement again to encompass other interactive forms.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We received positive feedback from our team, organization, and end-users. The videos are top performers on our website. The pages where we feature PUSH’s work perform well from a page views perspective.

It’s incredibly easy to work with their team. There’s a lot of value in distilling some of the complexities and benefits of our solutions. Their team’s able to distill that information and make it impactful in an introductory fashion.

How did PUSH Collaborative perform from a project management standpoint?

We work with PUSH following a weekly cadence. They share their progress. Their team has competing priorities because we’re creating so many videos across our portfolio. There’s a lot of transparency around their priorities. We haven’t had any issues with their timeline management.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their knowledge of our industry isn’t a core competency. Their team isn’t a specialized supply chain vendor but seeks to understand our industry. They spend time to understand topics and simplify our messages to create a product that stands the test of time.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, we haven’t had any issues with them. We have primarily worked with the same individuals. As they continue to grow, we’ll hopefully be able to continue to partner together.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

You may not want to approach the challenge with a specific deliverable. Be open to the creative process that PUSH brings to the table. They can add a lot of value in that sense. Be flexible when defining the ultimate deliverable.

I’m the senior marketing manager for Improveit! Home Remodeling. We’re a home improvement company that specializes in energy-efficient window replacements and bathroom remodeling services.

What challenge were you trying to address with PUSH Collaborative?

We engaged a new digital tool for in-home presentations and couldn’t continue using static images in those presentations. We wanted a solution to help explain all the benefits of our windows.

We needed an explainer video to take rough concepts like radiation conduction and explain how our windows can manage those situations.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

This project was based on sales enablement, so helping our sales team have access to the best resources, including photos, videos, and pitch presentations. We wrote a script for the video that PUSH helped us edit because it was too long. Their team sent us an initial illustrated version of the video and then created a graphical sketch board. The boards showed what part of the script each scene would feature and what the animation would be without actually seeing the animation.

Rohan (Creative Director) was my direct contact and another person directly worked with him.

How did you come to work with PUSH Collaborative?

We sought an illustrative company that could explain our services and benefits in a quick way. We made a LinkedIn post requesting any and all illustrative talent to send us their work. We found PUSH, which specialized in explainer videos. We watched a few of their demo videos about hard to grasp concepts such as Bitcoin. Their videos were fun to watch. PUSH also fit with our vibe, so it was nice to see that they had a similar creative direction.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent about $5,000 on the project.

What is the status of this engagement?

We first contacted them in July and wrapped up the first explainer video in October 2020. However, we plan to create another explainer video with them shortly.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

A gap of 1/16th of an inch around your window is equivalent to having a hole the size of a brick in your house. People butcher the line every time, and PUSH doesn’t have windows expertise. They’re animation and video experts. However, their team was able to showcase that particular issue, and everyone on our stakeholder team was impressed. They made the punch line and delivered great work.

How did PUSH Collaborative perform from a project management standpoint?

The process was easy, and we were involved every step of the way. It was easy to know what was next and expected of me. I had many tasks to juggle with this presentation and this was just a small slice of it. Rohan only reached out when he needed insight or reached a milestone. His communication skills were great; he was concise. Our team took forever, and their team was patient. The whole project was easy and collaborative.

What did you find most impressive about them?

PUSH did research on their own to understand our products and knew enough to do well. I worked with other creatives on the project that asked me instead of doing their own research. I didn’t have to worry about PUSH. They’re a team of talented animators and illustrators.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I don’t have any constructive criticism to give.

They’re great at what they do. Listening to them got us to the end result that was so well received.

I’m the senior content marketing manager at an InsurTech company.

What challenge were you trying to address with PUSH Collaborative?

We needed to create content for our clients and audience. Insurance is complicated by nature, and we were struggling to convey to our clients how our claims process works. We didn’t have a lot of great branded content that they had at their disposal to walk them through the process. Our clients would get training on a call with our account managers, but there wasn’t any supplemental content that was available to them at all times. For that reason, we decided to create a video that they could watch at any time.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

PUSH Collaborative produced our video. We had a branding guide, but it was pretty minimal and still in-progress. We shared that with Rohan (Creative Director) and the video production team. Additionally, when our CEO decided we should create this video, we quickly put together a storyboard. As far as animation, we had some ideas in mind. We shot over the storyboard and explained what we had in mind, but Rohan mostly led the process and decided the animation style.

What is the team composition?

Rohan was our main point of contact, and we communicated with him via email. If there was anyone else, they were behind the scenes.

How did you come to work with PUSH Collaborative?

I believe our CEO either knew Rohan or PUSH Collaborative, and that was handed over to us on the marketing side. 

How much have you invested with them?

It was $5,000 flat.

What is the status of this engagement?

I think that the first communication we had was at the beginning of May 2020, and the final product was delivered at the end of August 2020.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The video concisely explains the claims process, but at the same time, it gives enough detail so that clients can understand how the process works and why they need to do it.

Internally, we’ve gotten great feedback, and it’s definitely taken off. Our account management team is the one that requested this video; it’s going to be most useful to them because they interface with clients. They now have the video at their disposal when they onboard clients, and we’ve only gotten great feedback that the video looks good aesthetically, it’s short enough that it’s not overwhelming, and the quality overall is a huge step up from the basic training deck we had before.

We’ve been able to create some other pieces of content from the video. We’ve done screengrabs and created training manuals from the video to supplement it. 

How did PUSH Collaborative perform from a project management standpoint?

I thought it was really smooth. We primarily communicated through email. Rohan always followed up with next steps and outlined what the timeline looked like. Then, he’d notify us when the video was ready for review, and we could easily go into Vimeo and add our feedback. He was pretty timely at incorporating that feedback.

Based on the nature of the project, we knew there would be a lot of back and forth, but Rohan managed expectations really well. He had a solid understanding of what direction we wanted to take the video in. I didn’t feel like there was an unnecessary amount of back and forth; it was the perfect amount. They had a clear communication style. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their expectation management was noteworthy. Rohan outlined the details of the project from the start, so it was pretty clear how it was going to work. He was very receptive to our ideas and feedback, and he turned things around quickly. We really felt like he covered all of the bases, from when we were trying to select a voiceover actor to the type of animation we wanted. Everything was clearly drawn out; there wasn’t a misunderstanding of what we wanted to convey. Overall, it was smooth. They worked really well with us.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Honestly, not that I can think of. I thought it ran pretty well. 

Any advice for potential customers?

One of the primary things that you need to layout on the table is your business objectives. If you layout the issue you’re trying to solve, it’s a lot clearer for whoever is trying to help you. They need to understand what they’re working on, what it’s actually going to do, and what purpose it serves. As long as you communicate that well from the start, you can definitely manage expectations better.

I’m the VP of marketing at Corvus Insurance. We help brokers and policyholders make better decisions about their commercial insurance, specifically their cyber insurance risks and policies.

What challenge were you trying to address with PUSH Collaborative?

We wanted to explain the piece of technology that underlies our services as well as convey how brokers engage with the technology. It was a complex task that needed to finish within a short timeframe.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Their team produced a video that showcased our services and how we provide them using data. The video also showed how a broker would experience our technology. I came in with a rudimentary storyboard that PUSH augmented by asking questions. They also suggested directions and visuals as well as helped with the script. Their team then produced the video, which blended animation and stock live-action.

What is the team composition?

I worked with Rohan (Creative Director).

How did you come to work with PUSH Collaborative?

Our company worked with them before my time here began. After I received the reference, I reached out to PUSH and reviewed their previous work. I liked the quality of their animations and then ran this idea by them.

How much have you invested with them?

For a 90-second video, it was $3,200.

What is the status of this engagement?

We collaborated on this project over a three-week period in July 2020.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Everyone internally loved the video, and the brokers appreciate it. The executive team also loved the video, which was a big deal. The video enables us to put our best foot forward and explains what we do for the broker, which is our target audience. We plan to dig into each of our tech capabilities with PUSH.

How did PUSH Collaborative perform from a project management standpoint?

They provided specific dates for deliverables. I asked their team to meet tight timeframes, and they pressed forward to meet them. Their team was clear, open, and quick to respond. I was never left wondering about what was next. It was an easy, painless, stress-free process.

What did you find most impressive about them?

PUSH excellently tightened the script. Their team created a concise explanation of what we do and how we help our target audience. It’s hard to verbalize our processes but they did a really good job.

Their animation style was crisp, and the underlying music worked well. Their team nailed all the main pieces of a good explainer video.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We can look at how to make a more impactful intro and outro. I appreciated that they took the step to blend animation and live-action. However, we may not use live-action next time.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Know what you want going into the engagement. Have a strawman-type script setup and lean on them to augment it.

I’m the chief engagement and external affairs officer of YAI. We’re one of the New York metropolitan area’s largest providers of services and support for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We provide a range of services including housing, medical care, job training, support for families, and respite programs.

We’re a very large and complicated organization and it’s extremely hard to explain We thought a video could provide some clarity about what we do for the general public and fundraising audiences.

They produced an explainer video that is about two minutes long. I sent them a draft and a script and went about illustrating it.

I worked primarily with Rohan.

I worked with PUSH Collaborative maybe two years ago at a prior company. I couldn’t remember their name, but I found them again based on what I did remember and we picked up right where we left off before.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project lasted from May–June 2020.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The video is exactly what I had in mind. We used it for a live-stream broadcast for an event we usually hold in New York Central Park, but it was held virtually this year because of COVID-19. We had a great audience and everybody loved it online. We also plan to share the video on our website.

How did PUSH Collaborative perform from a project management standpoint?

It was a fairly tall order. They were also quick to implement changes, I could ask questions, and they pushed back when needed. Overall, it was great. We had 2–3 phone calls over the course of the engagement, other than that, it was primarily email.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I liked the style of their projects. When I first started working with them, I needed a partner that could work with a nonprofit.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, not really.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I would say this for anybody—you need to know what you want. How could any vendor possibly provide what you need unless you clearly tell them?

What was the scope of their involvement?

We partnered with PUSH Collaborative on developing a corporate explainer video. I’ll be using them for other projects as well; this was the first effort around a general corporate video.

We just worked with one person.

I’ve worked with them on several projects at previous companies, so I was familiar with the company and their services.

We spent less than $5,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

This project began in February 2020, and it just wrapped up at the end of May. We will certainly be working with them in the future on other video-related projects.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The results are positive in terms of anecdotal feedback; customers, partners, and company employees love the asset. We’re using the video in awareness efforts and are running various paid campaigns to get people to view it. It’s still early in terms of launch and seeing any tangible results, but the fact of the matter is, it’s an asset to help build the brand. It’s going to drive traffic; we’ll see whether it drives top-line results.

How did PUSH Collaborative perform from a project management standpoint?

They were excellent. Their team was easy to work with. They understood messaging really quickly and hit deadlines. The team was great at managing up and setting expectations. The final creative is always very good from PUSH Collaborative.

We communicated in different ways. We went back and forth over email when developing out scripts. They were very approachable and responsive via phone when we needed to clarify anything.

What did you find most impressive about them?

It’s nice to work directly with the principal of the company. I have a good relationship with him. He’s very approachable and is willing to work with clients on realistic budgeting.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I wish I had something constructive, but I don’t; that’s why I’ve worked with them on half a dozen projects, if not more, over the last couple of years, and will continue to work with them.  

Any advice for potential customers?

Have a general vision as to what you want your video to look like, as well as what you want to say. Realize that when you’re creating scripts for a 90-second video, it has to have short, tight, and punchy sentences; you can’t be long with prose. 

Just have that general framework and work directly with PUSH Collaborative – they’re good at honing the framework and finalizing it, and then obviously design, development, and final product. They’re the creative ones, so let them have creative license around your vision, and I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

I’m the CEO of Cascadia Scientific, a company that provides fuel measurements and decision intelligence to the mining sector.

What challenge were you trying to address with PUSH Collaborative?

We have some pretty complicated use cases and one of the challenges was distilling a complex but significant value proposition into a readily consumable, highly-relatable media asset.

We explain a lot of our use cases with white papers, prose, figures, and pictures. But there’s something about video that’s compelling.

It allows you to convey a fairly complicated context and value in a short period of time to an audience that doesn’t have to be active in their consumption of the information.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

First, PUSH Collaborative developed a very high-level explainer video. Since then, we’ve also engaged with them for use case and value proposition explainer videos. Rohan (Creative Director) is working on a 4-pack of similarly-themed, animated videos. 

All of our videos have been in three languages — English, Spanish, and Portuguese — because we have to sell to mining geographies. So Rohan works with the narrators, does scripting, and provides sketch boards.

I mainly worked with Rohan.

How did you come to work with PUSH Collaborative?

I had worked for a company before that had a very well-developed marketing consultant who was helping us. She was the one who first engaged PUSH Collaborative and I was very impressed with their work when she showed it to me. So, I decided that I would engaged with Rohan at this new company.

So far, we’ve spent upwards of $20,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our engagement began at the end of 2018, and it’s ongoing. The first explainer video was completed. Of the 4-pack, two of the videos have been completed.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

I’m very satisfied, and we’ve had good successes. Rohan is quite responsive and prompt with his work. My team and I have very positive things to say about PUSH Collaborative’s work. We’ve recognized that video is a very powerful tool to get our message out.

How did PUSH Collaborative perform from a project management standpoint?

PUSH Collaborative hits their targets and delivers on time. Rohan communicates with us via email, and he’s doing a great job of managing our account and our animations. 

Right now we’re giving him a challenge in terms of taking a topic that’s a bit drier and animating it. I’ve been very satisfied with the workflow, communication, and level of interaction.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’ve appreciated PUSH Collaborative’s ability to think in terms of our business even though they’re far removed from it. We’re working in the mining, data analytics, and industrial spaces, which are far removed from their industry.

We explain the use case or value proposition we want to animate, and he always takes it upon himself to write the first part of the script which we’ve appreciated. That first script is usually a long way from being useable. 

However, when he gives us that first script, it gives us a starting point as opposed to starting from a blank sheet of paper. Rohan’s ability to give us a guardrail to start with has been useful, and it’s helped us to get from nothing to having a completed storyboard and then a video. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

Sometimes we have to go through a round or two of edits because there are errors that the team didn't catch when they could've. However, whenever we ask for changes, Rohan is always accommodating.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

If you’re interested in an animated explainer video, I would absolutely recommend PUSH Collaborative because they’ve been very helpful and their prices are reasonable for what they provide. Our working experience has been very positive.

I’m the co-Founder & CEO of Simmons Sharpe, a small digital marketing boutique that deals mostly with B2B and technology clients.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with PUSH Collaborative?

We’ve worked with them several times. First, we hired them to work with us on a project for a small B2B IoT client who was in a very specific vertical. They had a complex product and service offering that we had to simplify. 

We decided that an explainer video that could live on the site and be sent to the audience would be the best way to do this. The client was in the global mining vertical so the video had to be targeted to operations people and CFOs in mining centers around the globe.

Additionally, we had another pre-revenue client who is working on cybersecurity for IoT devices by addressing quantum computing. This client had a conference and we needed a video that could introduce quantum computing to the audience.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They made a video for the mining client that explained the products and services to a diverse audience. For the quantum computing project, we had to go through several iterations with PUSH Collaborative.

They didn’t write the script, but they gave us feedback about how to cut out certain information. We also had an on-staff graphic designer who came up with the initial look and feel, and we gave that to the team.

Rohan (Creative Director) provided creative direction on how to shoot the videos. For example, instead of animating it straight on, the team animated the video as an isometric. They made it so that it was elevated but off to the side. 

What is the team composition?

There was a larger team, but we only worked on a personal level with Rohan.

How did you come to work with PUSH Collaborative?

We went online and our technical lead found PUSH Collaborative. They looked interesting, had a good portfolio with high-profile clients, and were strong in technology. I had to sell the idea to our clients because they believe that going with a US supplier versus a Canadian one was inefficient.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent between $5,000–$9,000 per engagement. So we’ve probably spent just below $50,000 in total. 

What is the status of this engagement?

Our engagement began about three years ago, and it’s ongoing. Because of the pandemic, we’re slow right now.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The explainer video project for the IoT client in the mining vertical went very well and it has the best results of any marketing push that we’ve done before. It continually measured on a video tracking tool. It moved sales and did exactly what we wanted it to do. 

I’m very happy with Rohan’s work. He’s fast, understands the brief quickly, and adds to the process. When I wasn’t sure what to do, he had the right answers. PUSH Collaborative demystified the process and made it easier for us. 

How did PUSH Collaborative perform from a project management standpoint?

The project management has been pretty smooth. We’re not unreasonable people so when we give him a deadline, we let Rohan tell us if that will be an issue or not. He’s even worked on weekends and nights to do the work. 

PUSH Collaborative shows up and gets the job done. The majority of our communication is done via email. Once we get to a point where the details are getting very specific, we then jump on a call and go through things on a frame by frame basis. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Rohan is good at understanding what the challenge is and being collaborative in coming up with a solution that works. The team provides great value for the product. I’ve done a lot of commercial production in my life.

What you can get from a company like PUSH Collaborative versus a more conventional source is dramatically different. One of our clients insisted on cross-quoting, and we found that the nearest competitor cost twice as much. Rohan’s system is very efficient. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, nothing comes to mind. We’re not looking for a permanent partner; we’re looking for good value, an innate understanding of what we’re trying to do, and a final product that is going to hold up on a global basis. They bring all of that to the table.

If you’re working with Rohan, everything will go well.

I’m the chief strategy and marketing officer for Accurics. We’re a cybersecurity startup.

What challenge were you trying to address with PUSH Collaborative?

We just launched our company out of stealth. We needed a way to articulate our story to our audience, especially because we needed a big PR campaign for our launch and we had a lot of people visiting our website.

We partnered with PUSH Collaborative to create a story through video that really resonated with our audience .

What was the scope of their involvement?

They created a two-minute explainer video. It tells our company story in an animated form. The story arc center around the fact that we’re in the business of securing the cloud. So it starts by focusing on the newest trends in cloud and what companies are experiencing. Then it discusses the implication on security. From there, it talks about how to best solve those challenges.

What is the team composition?

I worked with the primary owner directly.

How did you come to work with PUSH Collaborative?

I’ve worked with them at four other startups. For each company I’ve worked with, I’ve hired PUSH Collaborative to create an initial explainer video. I’ve had tremendous success with them.

How much have you invested with them?

This video cost $6,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in the beginning of April 2020 and we launched about four weeks later.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Our investors and our internal team love the video. Our team really identifies with the story. We did an internal poll, and everyone rated the video very highly. On a scale of 1–5, the team average was 4.75.

How did PUSH Collaborative perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re absolute professionals. They require very minimal oversight. We’ve worked together so many times, our workflow is seamless. They laid out the process at the start of our engagement and outlined what each stage would be.

They’re very collaborative and can iterate on any changes that we ask for. They’re also very proactive and have suggested recommendations. By the time we saw the final video, we. Didn’t have any feedback because we worked together throughout the project.

What did you find most impressive about them?

My advice would be to share the story you want to tell before you engage with them. It’s difficult to make changes along the way and the process is so much smoother if you know what you want the outcome to be.
