BACKGROUND
Please describe your company and your position there.
I'm the owner of Warren Academy, an online exploration platform for the mental health sector. We offer online courses (Warren Agility Courses) and premium coaching programs which are created to be mindful emersion experiences. Our transformative courses and programs are for the personal and professional skills development of health, mental health and 'Dis'-Ability service-users, clinicians, community, lived experience peer workers, and support workers.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
For what projects/services did your company hire Promoshin, and what were your goals?
I hired Promoshin to create an an animated video to use as an advertisement for the launch of Warren Academy's World Wide Warren (online courses platform). My goals were to create an original, bespoke video for the mental health sector, it's workforces, and communities that brings the Rabbit featured in the Warren Academy logo to life. Warren Academy needed to explain through narrative and visual metaphors the complexity, the experience of challenging journey's we have in the mental health system and depict historical Lived Experience/Survivor/Service-User movements through activism and change agency. An explainer video with a difference. The video needed to position something bold and new coming.
SOLUTION
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
From the outset, Promoshin provided more options, services, payment plans and in the introductory meeting, they presented themselves not only professionally but presented with passion and enthusiasm for my business dreams. I'm someone who will select a product or service by taking into consideration how personalized the service might be i.e., I want myself and my business to be understood and tailored to. I chose Promoshin because of a sense of their collaboration with and commitment to my objectives. I also chose Promoshin because of the studio's ability to work fast should the need arise without compromising quality and detail.
Describe the video(s) and the process in detail, including the project steps and all stages of production.
The animation production team took genuine interest in my creative vision and my business in general. The communication was particularly good. I was constantly given updates and the team ensured that any aspect that they had uncertainty with was promptly addresses through seeking clarification -including video meetings during which the team member diligently worked through each aspect with great interest.
I also appreciated Promoshin's team acknowledging my passion and efforts and appearing inspired by my goals and plans. I was glad I chose Promoshin because it did eventuate that I needed to make some changes towards the end of production which would cause my timeline to extend beyond a business target date, despite Promoshin estimating a reasonable delay/time-frame, to which I agreed, they were still able to deliver the video earlier than the re-scheduled date.
The end product was fantastic, high quality, exactly what I required. The entire process of working with Promoshin was excellent and is the reason I won’t go anywhere else for animation work.
Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?
I mainly had contact with Lyka but also had contact with Katie, Ben, Roxy, Tarmin, Chloe, and Jonathan. The feedback process was detailed and diligently executed. Every member of the team that I worked with attentive, dedicated and professional. I couldn't speak more highly of all the staff I interacted with during my project with Promoshin.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
I haven't completed or even neared half-way through my advertising campaign yet but feedback about my video from colleagues working in various different parts of the sector, has been phenomenally positive. My business is in it's soft launch phase so, this question is difficult to answer with any concrete results in stats and figures. I thoroughly believe though, that the video we've created will be a key part of the Warren Academy launch success. I know this because the roles that I work in within the sector are based on my level of knowledge of the sector's history, it's current educative/educational background, it's politics, it's potentials and it's current directions.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
All communication tools and methods used were clear, simple, and user-friendly. I found the communication process to be superb and consistently so. The project management style and execution was systematic, accurate but also delivered with enthusiasm and interest. A powerful combination. Project management hinges on effective communication, Promoshin's management of my project was exactly the way I like but what I rarely receive through my work with so many organizations/bodies in Australia. Time-lines were as expected and also improved upon, i.e., early delivery in some cases, as mentioned in a previous comment.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
All of the above. Most importantly their desire to make me happy and their clear enjoyment in working with me. I had communications from a manager that evidenced that I had been spoken well of in the team and I was offered things that made the experience even more enjoyable for me.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
There was only one piece of communication that let it down a little at the end of the project. That was when I needed to ask for another invoice to be issued with some extra time to pay it. In general that was dealt with effectively and in a timely manner but one member who emailed me stated that the project could simply be placed on hold for a month if I wanted to add and pay for the source files. A reasonable suggestion but the issue was that my advertising launch date had already passed and I was under considerable pressure to attain the final video and start the advertising campaign.
When you're already late for a scheduled launch date that the business needs to achieve (through no errors and it was been an acceptable time delay and worth it to make changes and achieve the desired final result) you don't really want to wait a month for the product in order to purchase an additional one that you don't need in any hurry. Although the offer to use a pause period to enable me to purchase the source files later when I was able to is good customer focus in one aspect, I feel there was a loss of focus on a key detail of my project. The intended advertising launch date.
So, when I'm told that the project will go on hold for a month, it was clear that somewhere in the team when this solution was discussed, there was an oversight of my time pressures. It was easily fixed and as discussed I'm still happy with the experience as a whole. Considering I needed to make changes which could've considerably extended the team's work, I still got my video sooner than the amount of time estimated and we only went 2 weeks past my intended date. I simply supply this only criticism as feedback because I feel that Promoshin genuinely does want to know these things because they do, can, and will improve them.
