Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Within just a few weeks, they created an admin panel for the products, and we received screenshots and a flowchart of the customer app. After about a month, we were able to download the first version of our customer app and see the progress in real time.
In two more months, the app was nearly completed, but then we decided to change our business model and develop an app for drivers and a progressive e-commerce website. That work is currently in progress.

The project manager that we were assigned is easy to communicate with. We have Skype calls every two weeks on average (sometimes more often when needed), and we communicate every 2–3 days via messages. The responses have always been quick and productive.

The app has a feature that allows users to walk through their thought processes and their mood in a given day. We wanted to make sure the interface was easy to use, so Prismetric helped with the design, ensuring that every step would appear on one page or in a series of pop-ups. There is also a mood analytics feature that shows a mood chart for each day that has an entry. Users can track their mood and see which days of the week they consistently feel a certain way.

The apps are great and we are going live next month. Prismetric has fixed all major bugs, but promises to resolve any issues post-launch. Overall, the partnership has been hassle-free. Ashish plays a crucial role in our seamless relationship. He stays on top of the technical side, which makes the offshore project stress-free.
How did Prismetric perform from a project management standpoint?
Compared to the bad experience I had, Prismetric is top-notch. The team provides weekly development updates. They test new releases over the weekend, report their performance the following Monday, and then adjust based on our feedback. This approach has been consistent and precise. We switched from Basecamp to Excel in the runup to going live because the latter was more conducive to our needs. Although we still use Basecamp for updates, we now utilize Google Drive to prioritize action items.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Prismetric fosters understanding between teams, which we haven’t experienced with other offshore vendors. The team’s prioritization of relationship management enhances their impressive designs. The team’s insight and guidance reflect their expertise.
Are there any areas they could improve?
The project manager role experienced turnover about midway through development. The handover could have been tighter. Some information slipped through the cracks, but given the personal circumstances for the departure, there wasn’t much more Prismetric could have done. Having a backup structure in place would make future coordination smoother.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Make sure both sides are clear about workflows because it’s important to be on the same page. They have a great way of working, and I found myself aligning with their approach, even though it wasn’t my necessarily my style. Be flexible and adaptable, as they are open to change as well.

What challenge were you trying to address with Prismetric?
I had an idea for a job management platform but lacked the development expertise to build it myself. I needed to work with a professional team. Since I’m new to this field and felt wary of using an overseas vendor, I initially hired an Australian developer. They worked on the project for six months. It ended up being overpriced and underdelivered. I went back to my original research and reached out to Prismetric instead.

What was the scope of their involvement?
Prismetric developed our job management platform using PHP. It took them about a month to read over the code that the previous team from Australia had developed. Rather than an off-the-shelf product, our concept was quite unique and required a complex build. What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We just launched our platform last week. Slowly but surely, our product is increasing in popularity and brand recognition as we gain more followers on social media. We garnered a couple of hundred likes on our Facebook page in the first two days, despite challenges that slowed down that process. There have been no crashes or bugs to date, and I’m happy with their work.
How did Prismetric perform from a project management standpoint?
Early on in the development phase, we sent several messages back and forth to get the team up to speed. Over the year we’ve worked together, it’s become much more comfortable to communicate the complex ideas we have for our product.
Prismetric sorts out any issues we encounter at no additional cost. I’ve had to put pressure on them at times, but it’s been a much better experience from the prior developer. We generally use email, Basecamp, and on the rare occasion, Google Hangouts. I’m pleased with how rapidly they respond. We’ve spoken on the phone twice in the past year.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Prismetric offers a much higher level of service than the Australian company we used beforehand. Despite the team’s offshore location, communication has been excellent. It’s been a good experience working together. If I had to do it again, I’d go back and build my entire product from scratch with Prismetric.
They’re much nicer to work with; they’re very accommodating and have never been arrogant. Prismetric has built everything they said they would at a much more competitive price. They've created twice as many features as the Australian developer completed for the same cost.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I’m not sure if our organization issues relate to the lead developer or Basecamp. On the rare occasion, they’ve missed a couple of minor features. It seemed as if they never saw the request. That’s been the only issue. Overall, they get everything done in the right order.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Be clear about your long-term goals and the specific feel you’d like your product to have. Breaking down the scope to particular features will help them complete your project the way you’d like it done.

We needed to create a mobile app on which customers can request specific services. We have technicians that visit our customers’ homes or offices and get the service completed.

Describe the project in detail.
Before beginning the project, they provided a complete project plan as well as login information for their project management system. We received updates every week with designs and builds, which we could install on our devices to check their progress. We went through many revisions of the wireframe mockups so that the end product would turn out like we initially envisioned.
What was the team composition?
They assigned one project manager who was our point of contact. The development and design team consisted of an iOS developer, an Android developer, a web developer, a designer, and a QA specialist.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We just launched our app a week ago and we’re very happy with the final outcome. They delivered what they promised on time. We’ve started with marketing now and have gradually gotten a good number of downloads. In just one week, we’ve already gotten two orders and both customers were very happy with our service and the app’s interface.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
We were worried about having a language barrier but the project manager was a fluent English speaker and a good communicator. We had calls with him every Friday morning. Overall, the workflow between us was very good.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
During our calls, the project manager would make suggestions for improving the app’s look and functionality. We implemented some of their comments and are glad that we did. We’re in the post-launch free support phase and Prismetric has been prompt in fixing the minor bugs we found two days after launching, which is really remarkable.
Are there any areas for improvement?
We’re really happy with the product and don’t have any complaints. The only thing they could improve is to make someone in the team available during our daytime, though it was never an issue because I always sleep late or wake up early, so we were able to manage the hours.
