Pixlogix is developing our web application using Ruby on Rails for the backend and JavaScript for the frontend. We’ve worked closely with the team on everything from the design to the UI/UX and the back- and frontend development. We provide a conceptual understanding of the app, and the pixlogix team provides technical expertise.
They work with Figma for the UI/UX design. We have designers on our end who also create designs and go back and forth with their team. Currently, we’re close to the end of the MVP’s development and still have feedback loops.

Thanks to pixlogix’s work, we’ve seen success from a technical standpoint, and we’ve been able to get interested users. Our project has met several key milestones with pixlogix’s support. Additionally, we’ve showcased the app to over 25 individual families, and they’ve really liked it. Although it’s still early and there are many issues to fix, our test users are excited about the product. We’re currently working on building our following in a small town, and once we do that, we plan to expand.

I am the Founder and CEO of SGDstyle. We house two brands, UrbanUndercover and TowelTopper. UrbanUndercover designs and develops better travel apparel and accessories for the modern traveling woman.

TowelTopper is our other brand and these are patented towel bands that will wrap around the towel on your body or your beach chair to secure it in place. It’ll turn any towel into a spa wrap to keep you covered at home or away.
When you wrap it around the towel on your lounge chair a the beach or pool, it’ll mark your spot and secure the towel from falling down your back or flapping in the wind.

What challenge were you trying to address with the vendor?
We needed a new website for both of our brands. The UrbanUndercover website required a lot more in-depth information and organization. It was a large project with everything from visual design to functionality.
We needed to make sure our website was integrated with all our various other platforms for performance, i.e. POS, email, marketing, etc. We had to develop a few new ways to market and sell creatively with virtual appointments, bundles and “coming soon”, as well.
The TowelTopper site, since it is just one product in multiple variations, was a little less complicated, but handled by Pixlogix with the same care and attention.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
To keep our costs down (ugh Coronavirus), we designed the website and relied on Pixlogix to help us make it function. They took what we envisioned and made it live on the internet.
They handled all the coding and technical work. They were absolutely easy to work with, responsive and offered valuable feedback.
What is the team composition?
I was the point of contact from our side and we worked with an account manager, Uttam. Uttam then relayed all our information to his team of designers and developers.
Working with Uttam was seamless. We communicated mostly through WhatsApp and Email. He was always very responsive and clearly communicated anything they needed to share.
How did you come to work with the vendor?
We were searching for someone to work with and I posted on LinkedIn that we were searching. Uttam reached out to me and the conversation started that way. Many, many, many others responded, but I found that I liked the work of Pixlogix and the customer service, as I mentioned they were nothing but a joy to communicate with.
How much have you invested with them?
To date just under $10K.
What is the status of this engagement?
We have completed the initial part, which was getting the websites up and running. We are continuing to work with them on an ongoing basis, because websites are never “finished” but rather living documents, the face of your business.
Therefore we rely on them to help us with any kinks, new product launches, changes and basically anything that has to do with the websites.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
You can visit our websites at UrbanUndercover.com and TowelTopper.com to see how well the sites perform and function. This is the work of Pixlogix. After the launch of the UrbanUndercover website (the first and the larger of the two), we received many compliments and praise for the upgrade.
Our traffic is starting to increase as is the average length of time customers spend on our website. How did the vendor perform from a project management standpoint?
Beyond Fabulous.
As I mentioned, we had one point of contact, Uttam, which made it easy for us. We weren’t lost as to who we should approach about an issue. Everything went through Uttam and was communicated quickly and efficiently to us.
His response times were amazing, he was readily available, and addressed all of
our questions and concerns accordingly. He communicated the messages from his team clearly and we never seemed to have an issue.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I am very pleased to work with Pixlogix. I think most impressive is their communication, because I am in the US and they are in India. This could get complicated with long waiting times that delay projects.
But they were responsive. Also, it seemed everything I asked of them they were able to do. We may have had to make slight modifications, for valid reasons they explained, but for the most part, they handled all my requests with the utmost ease.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Not that I can think of. They focus on the design and functionality of websites and did a fantastic job. I do work with someone else for the SEO, metadata and all the marketing.

I’m the founder and managing director of a safari tour company.

I contracted Pixlogix to redesign my website and improve its functionality.
What were your goals for this project?
Our ultimate goal was to increase conversion rates.

How did you select this vendor?
Pixlogix contacted us with a proposal and shared some of their previous work. We decided to work with them on a few projects.

Once I decided on the tasks, I gave them my requirements. They’ve improved the outline and security of the website and increased loading speeds.

The owner of the company is my main contact. He delegates the work to his team.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We’ve received excellent feedback, especially since the current changes make our products more visible. For one thing, our new contact form is amazing. While we have yet to receive increased inquiries, I am positive things will turn for the better. We continue to revise the site, but what I’ve seen has surpassed my expectations.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
The workflow has been flawless. They send updates on all ongoing tasks and ask for my approval once each task is accomplished.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
They are the best IT company I have ever come across. Everything about this company is top-notch: communication, actual implementation, web design, and attention to details. We should have asked them to handle all of our projects, due to their reliability and consistency. Not only did I get a good firm to work with, but I also got a friend I could count on.
Are there any areas for improvement?
I don’t have any complaints so far. I can only learn from them and hope to make my clients as satisfied as I feel while working with Pixlogix.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
Precept Partners is an end-to-end Internet development and marketing firm. We’ve been heavily engaged in the web since it began. We consult e-commerce companies, develop websites, and provide Internet marketing. Our specialty is e-commerce sales conversion optimization and SEO.

What challenge were you trying to address with Pixlogix?
We hire out pieces of projects to them. We have two other firms we also outsource to and the rest we do in-house.

What was the scope of their involvement?
We found that Pixlogix’s specialty is responsive design elements. They also know mobile really well. They can work across multiple platforms. They are good with WordPress, Magento, Drupal, Bootstrap, etc.
What is the team dynamic?
I work with Samir [CEO, Pixlogix] in terms of detailing the overview of the project. Then he divides the project up to his sub-developers and we work with the developers as needed.
How did you come to work with Pixlogix?
We went through an RFP/RFQ process. We searched design directories. I did a test project to find out how they communicate, how fast they can turn around a project, and what the cost benefit is.
How much have you invested with them?
We have spent $50,000–$200,000 with them.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with them in July 2013.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Responsive design is very important to us, so I measure load times. We did a recent project with Google and interfaced four Google developers with the Pixlogix team and optimized the site. We were able to dramatically improve load time for them. We have different metrics that we use internally to measure. We have a number of SEO tools and Google Webmaster tools that we use.
How did Pixlogix perform from a project management standpoint?
They’re great communicators and are very accessible. They’re also very cost competitive. We use Skype, phone, and email to communicate. Having worked with other Indian shops, Pixlogix gets an A.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I’m impressed by their quality of work and attention to detail. I give them a project and they not only meet the project parameter but go beyond. That is something I look for in a developer.
We have come to a trusting relationship with them. Samir has been a great resource. We find the work is comprehensive. We’re detailed oriented in terms of all the parameters that we need. They have good core competencies and a good programming team. I have great confidence in them.
Are there any areas they could improve?
All I can say is continue to build their staff and do what they’re doing. I’m impressed with them and have no problem with them.
