After getting burned by too many agencies over the years, I took a different approach this time - I interviewed over 7 different teams. One 10 stood out immediately. While most came in with cookie-cutter playbooks and buzzwords, the team at One 10 rolled up their sleeves and dove into the business like it was their own. They don't just look at surface-level metrics - they want to understand our margins, our inventory turns, and our vision. That depth of care and strategic clarity is rare. Most agencies sell services. One 10 brings strategy, ownership, and results like a real partner. If you’re lucky enough to work with them, don’t waste it.

The only area for potential improvement would be tighter alignment between their internal email/SMS and paid media teams to ensure messaging and content stayed consistent across all channels. That said, this is as much on our side as theirs - it requires clear direction from the brand to fully sync cross-channel strategy. Overall, they were highly collaborative and open to that kind of integration.

We've seen a 91% boost in our Flow revenue within the first 75 days since going live, compared to our existing flows. In February 2024, we saw a 946% increase in successful deliveries through our flows, compared to February 2023. Our bounce rate for Campaigns dropped drastically by 80% from December to January, significantly increasing our overall deliverability health. 

Our Q1 conversion rates on Flows have reached 2.74%, nearly doubling the industry benchmark. This not only places us almost two times ahead of our competitors but also marks a 1.83x increase from our Q4 conversion rate on flows. Since One 10 took over our pop-up in November, we've seen a 108.61% increase in the number of new profiles added to date, compared to the previous 10 months.

We engaged One 10 Media to assist in our entry into email marketing. Being a new ecommerce B2B company, we had a rough idea of how we wanted to start but Mike and Steph with One 10 Media were great in working to understand our business/market to advise and prioritize the initial project scope. One 10 Media built out our 4 core email flows for post-purchase, welcome, browse abandonment and abandoned checkout. 

Each flow included a set amount of emails but One 10 Media was great at staying fluid and working with us to make sure the timing/filtering worked with our sales and conversion cycles. Very accommodating of revisions and requests.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

In the four email flows we enlisted One 10 Media to build out, we started seeing good performance within 30 days. Being a newer B2B company, we knew that it would likely take longer to get enough customers through our email flows to assess the performance, but within the first 30 days started seeing solid metrics. 

After 60 days we had enough data to use the benchmarking feature in Klaviyo to compare to other companies performance and were very pleased. On all important metrics (open rate, placed order rate and revenue per recipient) One 10 Media beat our benchmark rates. 

Through the entire process, Steph and team were always extremely responsive, easy to work with, and felt like they really listened and actioned our feedback. Even after the end of the project, Steph would check in and help make changes when Shopify would issue an update that impacted functionality.

11/10 on project management, Steph and her team are completely dialed in. Very quick to respond and never felt like we were behind pace. We enlisted One 10 Media just before Thanksgiving, at one of the busiest times, and they got our first flows up in time for our holiday rush. 

We've worked with other agencies before that are extremely rigid on the amount of revisions and One 10 Media could not be more of the opposite. They work upfront to ask the right questions and understand your brand tone so that the revisions are minor and not full re-writes. Very flexible and accommodating on changes and feedback.

Our business blurs the line between B2B and B2C - it's something other agencies and vendors can have a hard time with. Other agencies just want to implement a canned approach and aren't always receptive to feedback or input on strategy/direction. 

With One 10 Media we always felt listened to and that they adapted strategy, tone and content around what fits our business best . The customer service and effort into truly working with a brand rather than an assembly line approach is what sets them apart and will make One 10 Media our go-to for email marketing.

One 10 Media checked all the most important boxes for us. There were some typos and formatting issues we ran into along the way, but they were always extremely quick to correct. Very happy with the service and performance

We had been with another agency for about five years, and the partnership was fine, but we weren’t seeing the success we were looking for. There was a lot of turnover among account managers, so we wanted to engage a smaller agency that felt like more of a partner.

They increased our overall impressions and improved our ROI by 15% regarding conversions. We also saw a 10% uptick in sales resulting from email marketing. 

How did One 10 Media perform from a project management standpoint?

Both of our account managers were great to work with. They sent us weekly Loom videos with account updates, and we had biweekly and ad-hoc calls via Zoom. They always met deadlines and adapted to our timelines as our business changed and grew. We used Asana to manage the project and Slack to communicate. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Mike’s involvement was the best part of working with them. One 10 Media developed a unique approach to marketing that aligned with our goals. He has a lot of experience and was involved in our marketing strategy throughout the project. 

One 10 Media was very detail-oriented and gave our partnership the focus we were looking for. With the other agency, we felt like our account got lost among hundreds of others, and One 10 Media took the time to learn about our business and understand what we were looking for, which was great.

We understand that there will always be mistakes when working with agencies. There was a small hiccup at the beginning of the project due to a language barrier. Our products are quite niche, and the industry language is very specific, so it was just a minor misunderstanding, and One 10 Media rectified the situation immediately.

The One10 team helped us revamp our advertising strategy from the ground up, and to link Klaviyo email flows to our Shopify site. We met with them frequently to set up and test ads on an ongoing basis for each of our products, and create emails flows for each product.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We were able to see our ad campaigns scale and become more efficient, scaling to the highest monthly profit we've seen to date (respective to this time of year). We've also saved hours of time having our ad accounts managed by the One10 team.

We've enjoyed meeting weekly with the team over video calls, and the team is extremely responsive over Slack. We also like the frank and honest demeanor of the team — ads and emails aren't always working well, and they won't sugarcoat when results of a test are disappointing. Nonetheless, they always bring new ideas and solutions to the table.

Other than deep expertise with digital advertising and email marketing, we've gained a lot of extra value through the team's general knowledge of ecommerce, whether it's through recommendations of of how to optimize our Shopify website, analyze through Google Analytics, or simply recommendations on third-party plugins that they've seen work well for their other clients.

Before working with One 10 Media, we had a lot of email subscribers, but couldn't convert them. We've capitalized on sales and customer conversions by having One 10 Media set up our email marketing. The results of our partnership so far have met my expectations.

One 10 Media managed the project well. We primarily communicate via Slack, and had a few phone and Zoom meetings.

Our site had completed a makeover and relaunched on another ecommerce platform. We were seeking an agency that had experience with email campaigns through Klaviyo. We also needed it to use the latest tools and construct a framework that included a welcome flyout and flows for abandoned cart and win back.

One10Media came in at the last moment after we had already narrowed our search to three other agencies. Mike Gleba is very personable and stood out with a great presentation. First step was an audit to cull our email list from iffy to proven prospects. Then, the welcome flyout followed by abandoned cart and win back flows. Finally, strategizing and scheduling the email campaign.

Open rate started decent with 18.4% and five months later has steadily climbed to 27.2% The other metrics remain lower than the median but we view that as a work in progress. Key for us is the ROI currently averaging 1.5X

Biweekly Zoom meetings were held that included data analysis and strategy. Slack was available for any quick messages

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They have a great leader who recognized the need to bring on different team members before we voiced any concerns. It was a great call because we see that the new email marketing manager gets it. The latest batch of newsletters has the content and copy we were seeking for our customers.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

One can always find areas for improvement but that's what we appreciate about Mike. He may not be present at the meetings but he's certainly in the loop and watching out for our best interests.

I’m the CEO of a D2C wedding apparel brand. We sell bridesmaid dresses, wedding dresses, and accessories.

What challenge were you trying to address with One 10 Media?

We were generating quite a few leads, and we needed to nurture them — follow-up with them via email, in this particular case.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We use a tool called to collect email addresses via giveaways or other opt-ins, and I needed someone to build out email sequences. These sequences have to look like they’re coming from an actual person — while they’re truly automated — and they have to include a sales pitch.

We directed them as to the type of content that generally works with our consumers. We laid out what content should be in each step of the sequence, and then they wrote the email, set up the automated technology, and tested the result.

What is the team composition?

I worked with Mike (Founder) for a lot of the communication originally, and now I work with Jasper (Lead Email Marketer). There was also a third resource for a time.

How did you come to work with One 10 Media?

I found them through an e-commerce digital group that I’m a part of. They were recommended to me by someone in the group.

Mike’s team was one of the only groups I found that understood what I was looking for with minimal explanation.

How much have you invested with them?

I’ve spent around $15,000 with them.

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve been working together since April 2020. I don’t have a lot of stuff that needs to get done all the time, but I’ll definitely continue working with them when I have the need.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Their sequencing work was part of our larger lead generation system, so it’s hard to attribute specific results to their work. We’ve been growing between 50%–100%, and I assign a good amount of credit to One 10 Media. This has been our biggest year ever, and a number of teams have contributed to that.

Their quality is really great, and their sequencing shows off their slick understanding of how to build email marketing campaigns. I haven’t found anybody else that can do that to the degree that they can.

How did One 10 Media perform from a project management standpoint?

We didn’t use any tools — email sufficed for us, and that’s the same for most similarly sized operations.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They really know what they’re talking about. I don’t work with companies that don’t understand e-commerce well. In most companies, you’re dealing with someone who can use the tool but lacks an understanding of the marketing and sales steps that come afterward. The email sequences can’t only function well; it has to deliver results based on what the customers are looking for.

Are there any areas they could improve?

One advantage to working with a bigger company would be that they sometimes have project management software that shows progress in various aspects of the project. This would help me with accountability, as I’m very busy. It’s difficult to keep up with everything internally, so we’re trying to move away from email and Google Docs.

What would be a good upcharge for One 10 Media, and a good service for their customers, is to offer an ongoing review and maintenance plan. I noticed certain emails and aspects of their campaign working more effectively than others after the initial work, but there wasn’t a pathway to modify the sequences. It would make more sense for them to review the work and then make modifications.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I have the same philosophy with all contractors: they aren’t going to solve all your problems. They’re going to solve the problem they’re designed to solve. When I work with a contractor, I consider them an extension of my team, and I would say that you have to provide them with the necessary resources to get the job done. You have to explain the business, the product, the process, and how the whole customer journey works. That way, the contractor is able to accomplish the tactical and technical parts of the job that you’re hiring them for. Don’t just tell them to fix your email campaigns; they can’t fill in all the gaps themselves.
