What was the scope of their involvement?

Netalico provided us with various services related to our Shopify-based e-commerce site for a year. We had them on a monthly retainer, so we planned different initiatives each month and collaborated with them on different projects. These projects included redesigning our website and performing monthly optimization tasks.

For the redesign project, Netalico created and implemented a new Shopify theme, and they then helped us modify and optimize our product pages and their layout. Moreover, they helped us optimize our site’s speed and make it ADA-compliant.

We worked directly with an account manager from Netalico. We also met with their head of design occasionally and had some interactions with their founder.

How did you come to work with Netalico Commerce?

They were recommended to us by the company that we used for online marketing; they had worked with them before with other clients. We trusted this recommendation, and we also thought that their pricing was reasonable, so we hired them.

How much have you invested in them?

We spent around $2,500 per month.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked with them on this project from September 2021–September 2022.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Thanks to Netalico, our conversion rate increased significantly. When we started working with them, our conversion rate was around 1.75%, and we now have a 2.4% conversion rate, which is great. Moreover, Netalico did a really good job at implementing helpful features on our site. Among the most helpful improvements were a new recommendation engine, a wholesale ordering platform, and more compelling product description pages.

How did Netalico Commerce perform from a project management standpoint?

Netalico was great at meeting deadlines, and their estimations were accurate. We typically defined the priorities for the month, and we then executed against those. Most of the time, Netalico delivered what they promised to deliver within each month.

We used Trello for project management, where we had a list of initiatives. Through that platform, Netalico provided us with updates. Additionally, we used email to communicate.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Netalico was very well-suited for a small business like ours. They understood how we worked on Shopify very well, and they were a good resource for us. Additionally, they were willing to help us understand best practices, which was very positive for us.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Netalico conducted most of the communication through Trello, which wasn’t the most user-friendly way to do it. It would have been great if we had a more efficient communication method, such as exchanging emails.

Additionally, we would still be working with them if they had a smaller payment structure with fewer work hours for the month because we reached a point where we didn’t have a lot of work for them to do every month. Other than that, we were very happy with their service overall.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Having a clear idea of what you want them to do is important. Additionally, being really responsive in communicating with them will help you get the most out of their services.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Netalico revamped our existing Shopify website’s theme to improve the aesthetic and give it more polish. They made sure that there was a consistent look and feel across our e-commerce platform and social media profiles. The team also redid one functionality on our website, switching out a dropdown of jewelry color options for actual color swatches that our customers could click on. 

The redesign took a few months, after which we geared towards doing more marketing-related activities. Netalico did quite a bit of content for us, including email flows in Klaviyo and ads for Facebook and Google. The team also created a landing page for a recent giveaway that we did. We worked quite a bit on SEO as well.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in January 2021 and the partnership is ongoing. We continue to make changes and improvements to the website.

We’re still working on our goal of increasing awareness, sort of on the front end funnel, but we’ve definitely seen an uptick in our website traffic. The new design has increased our credibility and improved our customers’ experience.

Netalico is really responsive, proactive, and professional. They’re great to work with. We communicate via email, video calls, and Trello.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Netalico is really good at what they do. They're really skilled and professional and deliver on their promises. Sometimes, it can be really hard for developers to follow through on what they said they were going to deliver, so Netalico met and exceeded expectations on that front. The team finished everything within the original timeframe, which is miraculous to me. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

Not really. Any glitches we encountered were really minor, and Netalico was super responsive to any feedback that I had. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

It will be very helpful if you know what you want in your project scope. Providing Netalico with specific guidelines of what you're looking for enables them to come up with good ideas, set a good timeline, and know where to go next.

We had an existing e-commerce site for our main brand, which we found outdated as it was developed using Magento 1. Netalico Commerce came into the picture to help us rebuild and convert our site into a Magento 2-based platform, focusing on the user-end.

Netalico Commerce created a platform that was reliant on a large database to accommodate the material and partner information we had from three different websites. In addition to their site conversion work, their team also integrated product-filtering functionalities to give our users more tailored search results. 

They’ve already rebuilt our e-commerce platform, but we continue to rely on Netalico Commerce’s team to manage our site and implement new integrations.

Netalico Commerce’s efforts have ramped up our B2C sales — our new e-commerce site drove a 400% boost in site traffic, and we continue to witness progressive growth every month. Overall, we’re completely satisfied with what Netalico Commerce has been delivering.

Netalico Commerce is a very dedicated team —  we don’t work with a lot of their resources, but the people assigned to collaborate with us always make it a point to deliver what we need when we need it.

What challenge were you trying to address with Netalico Commerce?

I needed help with improving my site to take my business to the next level. I needed my site to be user-friendly, mobile-friendly, and fast. Additionally, I needed help with my email campaigns.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

The applications that we were using on our website were outdated, and there were better options in the market. Netalico helped us compare the pros and cons of different apps, and they explained how they were going to change them.

They also sent me videos and tutorials, and they walked me through all the steps required to make changes and improve my site. They helped me understand this process better so that I could make the right decisions for my business.

We also had issues with our site’s speed, so Netalico ran a lot of tests. They worked on various phases to clean up the backend, removing a lot of code to make it work faster. They took the time to look into it further to help us optimize it.

Currently, we’re in the process of changing a lot of our segments and campaigns to get our customers to be more engaged with our email campaigns.

Mark was involved in the onboarding process, trying to understand my needs so that he could direct me to the right department. Currently, he oversees everything and answers my questions. Lisa helps me with my email campaigns, and Alex is involved in web development.

How did you come to work with Netalico Commerce?

They were referred to me by our SEO provider. This person has worked with me from the beginning, and whatever he has recommended, I’ve been really happy with it. Thus, I never compared Netalico to other providers, and I’ve had a very positive experience so far.

We have a monthly retainer contract of close to $2,500. We’ve spent around $17,000–$20,000 so far.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Netalico was able to take my business from a mom-and-pop shop to a more professional and streamlined store. Before our engagement, my site had a lot of glitches and issues, and I would get a lot of emails from customers about things not working well. Now, I don’t have to worry about those issues because Netalico helped me solve all of them.

For example, whenever I had a promotion, I would get a lot of emails from customers complaining about the checkout not working properly or the discount code not being applied. Ever since I started working with Netalico, I’ve had various promotions and got 1–2 emails at most. They severely cut down the customer interaction around issues.

I also measure the success of this project by looking at our customers and noticing that they want to come back. Netalico has really helped me with making our site user-friendly and easy. Additionally, I feel that our repeat customers have significantly grown because they’re really pleased with the shopping experience.

Having been in business for five years, Netalico is the fourth web developer that I’ve worked with, and working with them has been pleasurable and refreshing compared to the others. They’ve been really nice throughout the whole process, explaining everything and guiding me.

It has been really nice to see companies like them out there because I’ve had really bad experiences with other providers. I’m happy that I’ve found them.

How did Netalico Commerce perform from a project management standpoint?

Netalico’s project management is amazing. They’re very organized and honest, and they’re in constant communication with me. Overall, they manage the project very well, and they’re very realistic about what they can or can’t do.

They use Trello, where we have a very structured message board organized by categories and timelines.

What did you find most impressive about them?

It is impressive how nice Netalico is. They’re very helpful, which I really appreciate. Being a business owner, I don’t have to worry about managing my site because I know that they’ll handle it. They’re honest, and they always get back to me.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of something that Netalico could improve on. I’ve never had a complaint since we started working together.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Have a clear idea of what you want. I, personally, had a list of all the issues and concerns that I wanted to get fixed about my site, which helped me be clear and concise. I showed them screenshots and screen recordings to help them understand what the problems were.

I also showed them examples of other sites so that they could help me make my site better. Coming prepared with examples and suggestions will allow them to better understand the vision you have for your site.

They created one on Shopify and redesigned the other on WordPress. For the Shopify site, they built everything from scratch including the logo and content. All I had to do was tell them which colors I wanted for the logo, and they just ran with it. For the content, they wrote paragraph descriptions for each product and included pictures. For the WordPress site, they redesigned it and organized the content from our old site.

We’ve had 4–5 people from Netalico work for us, and they’ve all been amazing. We work with Shopify and WordPress experts, as well as account managers.

Their quality of work is amazing. They’re the best that I’ve seen. I wouldn’t go anywhere else. Their content is right on. If they can’t do the content, they have a contact that can do it instead. There are really no gray spots that they can’t fix. They always figure out a way to give you the best solution possible to give you what you want.

How did Netalico Commerce perform from a project management standpoint?

The team is awesome. They’ve made our business go to new heights that I never thought we could reach as quickly. The team has been more beneficial to us than I could ever imagine. We use email and Zoom for communication. They always answer our emails within a day or two.

The quality of their staff is incredible.

No, not really. If I do need something ASAP, they might take a little longer to do it. Otherwise, they’ve done everything that we’ve asked. Everything has been great.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Netalico Commerce helped us build a Shopify site. The site is for a cellphone charger brand that we own. The team helped make sure we had the right showcase of products and product classifications. Additionally, they manage help desk integrations, email marketing integrations, and various customer journey integrations to help with our lead funnel into the site.

We’ve worked with their founder, a project manager, an admin support person, and a site strategist.

We went through some due diligence with partners in the Shopify ecosystem. I had also been following their founder for a couple of years and saw some of the guidance he was posting on Twitter. Overall, Netalico came out on top in that process.

We set milestones based on the project development and build-out; Netalico has been ahead of our milestones at every step of the way. In fact, they’re usually waiting for us for information. All across the board, they’ve exceeded our expectations.

How did Netalico Commerce perform from a project management standpoint?

They’ve been great. Their founder did a great job of setting up the standard of how everything would be managed. The team makes great decisions about the site and what we need. They offer great how-to videos of steps that our team needs to accomplish. We use Trello to manage the project.

What did you find most impressive about them?

This is the first B2C project that our team has worked on. Netalico has been great at helping us navigate and explain the difference between B2B and B2C marketing. Their instructional videos have been useful for every level of our team.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I don’t have any issues with the services they’ve offered. If anything, I hope they offered a wider suite of consulting tools.

My advice is to work with them. They’ve been a huge asset to our project. I would use them again in a heartbeat.

I’m the founder of an online retail company. We use Magento for our website, and I see much of the backend operations and look after the website myself.

What challenge were you trying to address with Netalico Commerce?

We do a lot of our maintenance on the website, but sometimes we don’t have time to track down a bug or write code for a particular feature. It’s easier to have a third-party company do that for us.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Netalico provides maintenance services and upgrades; we don’t do major projects with them. They’ve made some performance enhancements to the website and provided Magento support.

Usually, I communicate with Emily (E-Commerce Solutions Specialist), and she gets a description of the problem that needs to be tackled. They work it out and expand it to a developer, who may need access to some resource in our systems or have 1–2 questions. I provide that information, and once they have a solution, they put it up on a development server. We test it to make sure we’re happy with it, and Emily provides the final patch. In the end, they post it to our GitHub or deployment tools.

What is the team composition?

I work directly with one person. Occasionally, it’s easier to work with the developer, but that’s rare. I usually talk to Emily, and she communicates to whichever developer they’ve assigned to the problem.

How did you come to work with Netalico Commerce?

They were somewhat local, and one of our former employees ended up working for Netalico, so I became aware of them that way.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve done a couple of dozen small projects, so it’s been thousands of dollars.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them about two years ago, and our partnership is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

There aren’t any statistics to point to. They fix bugs, do small feature enhancements, and address compatibility issues. It’s hard to put a number to the benefit.

How did Netalico Commerce perform from a project management standpoint?

I deal with a single person, so it’s kind of painless. The projects are generally well managed, and they’re very responsive. When we have an issue, we need to fix it pretty fast, and they typically can do the patch or update within a few days or a week.

What did you find most impressive about them?

It’s very easy to communicate with them, and they’re responsive to fix problems. Also, they understand well how our particular environment is configured.

We have development servers loaded from GitHub in a virtual environment and staging servers in production, and we use deployment engines to do all that. It runs on the backend at a managed host. Even if it’s a fairly complex process to develop and push code changes out to production, Netalico’s team seems comfortable working in that environment.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I’m pretty happy with them. Sometimes it’s frustrating when we need an immediate fix, and they don’t have the resources to address that, so we might have to wait 1–2 days. However, that’s never been crippling. If it was genuinely a hotfix, I think they’d reorder their priorities.

What challenge were you trying to address with Netalico Commerce? 

We were working with a Magento website and wanted to remain on Magento 1 rather than move to Magento 2. Netalico Commerce was recommended as a vendor that could help with supporting and installing security patches in Magento LTS, an open-source version. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Magento quit supporting Magento 1 last year, so this project involved taking our site into the LTS environment, installing a cloud flare, and ensuring we had a Nexus Cloud server. Because it’s open source, Netalico had to install a number of security patches. 

Currently, they’re helping us with SEO. Their work in this regard is on the backend, ensuring that our pathway is in tune with Google’s SEO requirements. We handle the content on the frontend ourselves. 

We plan on having them create an API to change over some of our business software in the future as well. 

What is the team composition?

I’ve worked with around three different people over the past couple of years: Mark (Founder), John (E-Commerce Management Guru), and an SEO resource. 

How did you come to work with Netalico Commerce? 

They said the right things in my conversation with them, and I thought they would be a good fit for what we were looking for. They were doing great things with Magento 1 sites for other customers, and we didn’t want to pay the fees to upgrade to Magento 2. 

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent around $12,000–$15,000. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve been working together since late November 2019.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

It’s hard to put any kind of metrics on their work. I see some analytics from Cloud Flare about people coming to our site, and there are also organic metrics that come with the site being live, but they don’t really quantify or represent Netalico’s value. 

We’re able to keep the website up and running. As long as that’s working for us, then Netalico is doing their job. I don’t have to talk to them that often. 

How did Netalico Commerce perform from a project management standpoint?

They organized and outlined the entire project, including coming up with a budget. We were able to work with them under the terms, and it’s still ongoing. We usually communicate through email but I’ve also done some Zoom calls with them. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

I don’t work with a ton of other providers so it’s hard to say, but Netalico has been able to provide the services that I need. We update and upgrade what’s required within the constraints of the software; they communicate those limits to me clearly. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t have an answer to this question, as I’m very satisfied with what they’ve done. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Put what you’re looking for out there and see if Netalico is a good fit, especially if you’re in a situation where you want to avoid moving to Magento 2.

We transitioned from Magento and moved to Shopify Plus, which our team had no experience with. We were looking for a web development team that could come in and elevate our e-commerce business. We wanted to grow our online revenue, and we also had a bunch of special projects we had in mind.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Netalico Commerce came on board and helped us get subscription implementation and wish list projects done quickly. The team also recommends apps, SEO agencies, and Facebook Ad agencies. Because they’ve been so efficient, we’ve been able to go outside of our original scope with them.

We spent $25,000–$50,000. We’ve doubled our contract with them in the last few months, and they’ve been able to handle all of that really well.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

E-commerce is really complex, and there’s a lot of moving pieces. We’ve increased from doing 7% of business through e-commerce to 24%. Netalico played a huge part in that. We have a better UX and a better checkout system. It makes the purchase experience for customers way better.

How did Netalico Commerce perform from a project management standpoint?

Hands down, their project management has been the key to their success. We use Trello for project management, and we’re on weekly calls. It’s gotten so good that I don’t have to manage a lot of the day-to-day. I have someone from my team work directly with Tamara, and it’s cleared my schedule up as a marketing manager.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their project management, communication, and overall technical competence are impressive.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, they’re so efficient that we become the bottleneck in the system sometimes.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

My advice is to trust them. They’re the experts, and they really deliver on what they say they’ll deliver on. The team is super authentic and easy to trust. Let them do their jobs, and you’ll see great results.

I’m a principal at a health care, private equity, and public equity firm. We’re a $5.8 billion firm with offices across the globe, but we’re headquartered in Palo Alto.

We didn’t have a professional site, and we needed help with strategic marketing. Since we’re fundraising, we needed our company to be in the most tip-top shape. We wanted to accurately embody Vivo as a health care investment firm.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Netalico provides a lot of services for us. They’ve helped us with marketing materials, strategic marketing, fundraising, documents, and copywriting. Also, they’ve advised us on social media and PR. Specifically, we’ve consulted them on LinkedIn and Twitter.

For our website, they’ve done everything from A to Z. The site is a mixture of custom WordPress, and it’s pretty much finished. The partners just need to put some dots in the I’s and cross some T’s. 

What is the team composition?

I initially talked to the founder, and he connected me to his team. We’ve had a project manager from the beginning, and she’s been amazing. There’s been a developer who also jumps on calls when needed or if she has questions. I know there’s a designer in the background, but I’ve never talked to them.

How did you come to work with Netalico Commerce?

We were halfway through with a developer, but we were finding it difficult to work with them. Netalico came highly recommended by a colleague in the investment world industry. They mentioned that Netalico would be a good company to go with, so we went ahead and did an intro call. However, I also did a lot of research online.

Overall, they were a great fit because they were great at listening to our needs and executing them. Also, they were good at getting to the finish line when we didn’t even know our needs.

We look at the timeline, our requirements, quality, and timely edits and responses. They’ve been fantastic in all of that. I’d never worked with a company that felt like they were internal.

How did Netalico Commerce perform from a project management standpoint?

They’ve been absolutely fantastic. Alex (Project Coordinator) gets my style of communication and has gotten to know me. I don’t respond as quickly as other people, so she’ll make spreadsheets or suggest a call when we don’t communicate via email. All the team is phenomenal; working with them has been seamless.

For project management, they use Trello and Google Docs. Anytime I’ve had an issue, they’ve suggested a different platform, and they’d be kind enough to just go through with it.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They stand out for their level of professionalism, collaboration, and how fast they do precisely what we need. The work is actually done days before they’d said they’d do it.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t like using things I’ve never used before, and I didn’t know how to use Trello.  They sent me a recording of how I should use it and taught me, so I can’t complain about it.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

If they give you advice, take it. It’ll make your life easier. I’m a little bit stubborn, so I like to do things in old-fashioned ways. Netalico suggests solutions that I’ve never thought about, and then they implement them and cut the time in half.
