Please describe your company and your position there.
Terrya Media Group is one of the leading media companies that focuses on native advertising solutions for clients in the natural health & wellness space. As the VP of Marketing, I am responsible for ensuring the success of clients' campaigns as well as coordinating our extensive pool of professional talents, partners and vendors.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
For what projects/services did your company hire N2 Marketing?
We own a network of well over 100 digital media properties spanning across various digital platforms including social media and organic search. Ever since last years' Google Core update, our organic search platforms have been loosing traction, and we were desperately looking to revitalize them.
However, we were incredibly selective of the team of consultants we'd contract as this sort of project requires extensive know-how and a very particular set of skills to undertake and succeed in.
What were your goals for this project?
Our goals revolved around increasing the SERP positions for our key pillar content as well as ensuring the SEO-health of the websites themselves. We lost nearly 30% of our traffic over the three months leading up to 2020, and we effectively needed someone to do the research, figure out what we were doing wrong, consult on any changes and strategies and assist in the implementation to reverse that trend.

How did you select this vendor?
We heard about N2 Marketing through a law firm that we work with closely, as they've worked with them and were absolutely enamored by the work they'd done. I reviewed their track record and asked for a proposal to choose between them and several other firms.
N2 Marketing stood out in how clearly they demonstrated their expertise, the fact that they had all the qualifications to take on this sort of project, and that they understood exactly what needs to be done and how to do it. This was a stark contrast to many of the other proposals we've dealt with over the years - these guys are true professionals, and it definitely shows!
Describe the project in detail.
The initial stage of the project was a "discovery phase" where we worked closely with several consultants from N2 Marketing in order to assess the technical health of our site, the SEO practices that we had in place as well as any ongoing initiatives to see where we fell short or had harmful practices going on.
This was followed by N2 Marketing helping us revamp our SEO strategy while composing an eloquent step-wise plan to address existing gaps in optimization. This plan was implemented by our internal team, under the close watch of the consultants we've worked with. Special thanks to Annie and Nickita who were incredibly patient and went out of their way to ensure that everything was implemented to the tee.
After this phase, we brought N2 Marketing on under a long-term support agreement and we plan to be bringing them onboard for several of the organic search properties that we have in the pipeline for this year to ensure that we have everything set straight from day one.
What was the team composition?
We worked with three different consultants for the initial phase of the project, however two of the senior consultants Annie and Nickita led the project into it's completion.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
One of the pressing issues was the fact that our websites were not correctly optimized for smooth resource delivery, and as a result we were gradually losing traffic and rankings due to poor performance. Working with N2 Marketing has brought our site speed test scores into the 90s from the prior 40s, and as a result we saw a near-immediate boost of 25% in traffic that landed on our properties and interacted with it.
In addition to this, their strategies helped up drastically increase our rankings with a new content-stacking approach which earned us a cumulative boost of almost 42% in new first-time visitors. All in all, we were looking to recover prior performance, where as we ended up nearly doubling our search presence 5 months into the project. In short, N2 Marketing has been an absolute godsent!
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
The workflow was incredibly smooth. All of the consulting was done digitally in light of the ongoing health crisis. They worked alongside our team within our digital workspace and conducted check-in meetings on every initiative at hand each Wednesday and Friday to make sure they're "on the same ground" with our teams.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Their professionalism and clear-cut know-how impressed us. Most of the other proposals we got from competitor agencies essentially boiled down to wish-wash and inconclusive marketing pitches, whereas N2 Marketing was incredibly clear and direct in the fact that they understand what we do, the scope of the project, what issues we're facing and they easily demonstrated their expertise and track-record in similar projects.
Are there any areas for improvement?
While the team definitely delivers on their promises and then some, I wish that the reporting would be a little more detailed in certain areas as per the comments I've left during the project wrap-up. With that said, even though we were particular about certain data-points we wanted to see, the results that N2 Marketing has made possible for us are undeniable and I believe that we've found a long-term partner.
