I work for a pre-K–12 private school in the Washington area. My current position is the marketing and communications director.

What challenge were you trying to address with Monster Agency®?
We wanted to get into social media advertising since that was a hot space for people looking for schools. Social media marketing was something that I didn't have the time or the technical expertise to devote to. I wanted someone with real expertise who could handle Facebook's ever-changing rules and all the technicalities that go along with that.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
The services that Monster Agency® provided were Facebook Ads crossing over into Instagram Ads. With the correct marketing, you can really dial in with the exact people that you're looking for, so our end goal was enrollment growth and feeding our pipeline for our sales team. We're a very small school with a narrow sales funnel, so we were looking for very acute and specific types of families who would want a specific type of education.
We worked together to develop a campaign to represent us, touching on who we were and what we were about. I provided a lot of the materials as far as videos and pictures, but they provided some photos as well. We linked all these ads through our landing pages, through our website, and all the different avenues feeding into our system. We would track everything on our end, from people who are clicking in to learn more about the school. That's why Facebook and Instagram advertising was key to our success.
What is the team composition?
I primarily worked with Andrew (Founder). There were a couple of other people in the periphery, but I didn’t deal with them directly.
How did you come to work with Monster Agency®?
My husband had connected with Andrew and thought that he would be a great fit for me. We had a conference to get to know each other and see what Andrew and Monster Agency® could do for us. It was all very positive, and they were willing to work within our budget — which was huge. We hadn't been able to find the type of quality we needed for the budget that we had.

What is the status of this engagement?
We worked on the project from November 2019–March 2021. We had to pause the campaign because our budget has been exhausted, but we plan on continuing to work with them.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
If you think of the campaign as a graph, it would be all positive and onward and upward. The longer it kept going, the better it got and the more impact our ads were having, while also giving us a better return. The campaign became a real positive tsunami of great affirmation and social proof as the leads got better.
We were getting a lot of interest coming in and overwhelming our sales department — which was great. Separating our marketing from our sales allowed us to really start focusing on doing an excellent job on our side. Monster Agency® just helped to fill that bucket and pour leads into our sales department.
One of our leads remarked that she saw us every time she opened up Facebook or Instagram. It was excellent ad placement, and it continued to show up on her feed. Then, she called directly to the school and told us that our ad was exactly what she needed to hear and that it kept showing up. Because of that persistence, she decided to make that big leap to reach out and move forward in our sales process.
How did Monster Agency® perform from a project management standpoint?
Andrew and I mostly connected over Slack, and we would do some Zoom meetings when we needed to speak. The communication was always good. There were times when we needed to make changes, so we worked together on that; they were flexible and timely. When I just didn't have the time to be responsive, Andrew was really patient and proactive at reaching back to me, which was helpful.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I worked with another provider doing Google Ads. We could only go so far with them and their expertise. However, with Andrew and Monster Agency®, I felt like we were just getting started with our long-term vision for the relationship. The goals are ever-evolving. Our end goal is always the same, but the means to get there are different.
That to me is really distinctive of them. Even though I know we're not their easiest client, I know they can handle this and much more than what we need. That's fabulous because I know that as our budget increases and our ability to engage increases, they won't feel overwhelmed by us. They're the experts—and that's what we want.
Are there any areas they could improve?
The only area of improvement that I recommend is that sometimes there were misspellings in the ad copy that I had to go back and ask for correction. Some of those details were fine since I was highly involved at that point. That’s my only area for improvement, and we were able to work through that without much hassle at all.
Any advice for potential customers?
I would say that clients should ask for whatever they might need and keep that line of communication open. I think that their capability far outweighs what we need from them, which is good for us. Not only that, but I feel confident in saying that Monster Agency® and Andrew would be able to meet that need very quickly and well.

Internally, we had a good understanding of digital performance marketing and we knew how to do Facebook ads ourselves. We were just swamped and we had reached the limit of our skillset — we wanted to advance our efforts.

That makes their job more difficult, because even though they know what materials can be potentially successful, if the brand doesn’t do what they say, it wouldn’t be effective. Just listen to their team and do what they say.

How Andrew was able to explain and show proof/case studies of what he would be able to do for us, and then show how we progressed through our campaigns. He helped us see what was working and not. Helped us better understand what would work for OUR company and not.

We could have both been better communicating via Slack and Email. Andrew and his team really pushed us to schedule out our campaigns and helped set up systems for it. We should have leveraged it more. We did have some issues occasionally with some of our email campaigns, but in their defense, we could have gotten them completed sooner to avoid last-minute issues/errors.

Monster’s job is to run ads on social media through Facebook and Instagram including pictures, videos, and clips of our apparel, our lifestyle, our brand, our message, and our culture. My website traffic and social media engagement on the aforementioned platforms has soared. Our sales have grown from $10,000–$15,000 a month to $38,000 in my first month of sales. We’ve also had a steady stream of sales from customers because of our ads.
In the first month, my website sales have grown by 600%. They’ve been able to successfully find our audience for us, and because of that, we’ve achieved six-figure sales per month which were previously five figures. They’ve told us that they'll get us eyeballs, and they’ve been consistently doing it.

We have Monday strategy calls for changing ads and tweaking ads. They’ve been attentive and always have somebody available at our disposal who can give fast responses and immediate action. I want someone who can give me results, and Monster has fulfilled that. They’re great compared to a lot of tech guys I know who are not punctual and not the easiest people to deal with. Above all, they’re dedicated to our brand, and that’s what sets them apart.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They’ve given more than I’ve paid for, and that’s what I liked about Monster. As a result, I’ve sent a lot of business their way, and I ran some promotional ads for them and gave testimonials about their company. That little promotional ad contains how we’ve grown as a company: from a house, we transferred to a warehouse and hired a lot of people. People can easily go to my page and see our growth.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, I don’t think so. I’m a very fair and difficult person to do business with because I’m very tough. I have extremely high standards and I expect my partner to do the same, but I’m very happy to spend a lot of money with people as long as they give me the right amount of service. If a partner continues to do business with me, that only means they’re achieving things at a high level and Monster Agency does this. Overall, I have no complaints about the team.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Get as far as you can on building your company, services, engagement, and more. If you haven’t built something, don’t expect a miracle because they’re not going to get you results. You also have to do work in order for them to get you where you need to be.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the founder and owner of Instafreshener. We make custom cleaning products, and we dropship for several online vendors as well.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Monster Agency®?
I was looking for someone who could help us drive traffic to our website. I built a new website for the fifth time hoping it would be successful. I launched the site, but I didn’t get any traffic. I spent money on Facebook Ads but still didn’t get any results. I put in a lot of time and effort to develop a nice and functional website, but nobody was seeing it.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Monster Agency® analyzed why we were having issues with our website and why we weren’t marketing it correctly. They gave us a summary of what they could do, and that sparked my interest out of the gate.
One service they offer that I really like is creative development, such as creating ads. I have some Photoshop experience, but there’s no creative side to that. I just give them the art files and some general ideas, and they make the ads for me. They’ve been able to create all kinds of ads, whether it’s an animated GIF, a still photo, or a slideshow. They send the ad to us for approval and then have it live very quickly.
Once the ad is live, they start seeing results, and they fine-tune accordingly. If an ad doesn’t work, they will toss it out — it’s nice that they know what delivers and what doesn’t. We are live on Facebook and Instagram, and in late 2020, we started using Google Ads.
On top of that, they are handling our email marketing campaigns. They write our email ads and send those out monthly with our promos to repeat buyers and loyal customers. They actually changed the app structure we were using on MailChimp, which I had no problem with. That was one more thing off my plate.
They help us with our marketing, too. They’ve done competitor analysis to see what the field looks like in our line of business. They also ask us if we want to offer any special promotions during holidays.

I have seen about five different people get involved in our efforts.
How did you come to work with Monster Agency®?
I saw Monster Agency®’s hysterical ads on Facebook and I thought they were brilliant. In one of the ads, Andrew Molz (Founder) was fighting Mike Tyson on an old Nintendo game. Andrew was just competing against bad ads and showing his journey to victory through Nintendo.
Watching his other videos really caught my eye and led me to connect with him over the phone. We had a lot of relatable experiences in e-commerce. He could see my problem and had a solution to deliver.
How much have you invested with them?
I have spent about $55,000 so far.
What is the status of this engagement?
We began our partnership in July 2019, and it is ongoing.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
When I launched, our conversion rate was .5% for several months. After hiring Monster Agency®, we hovered around 4%–5%. During the holiday season, our conversion rate jumped to 8%–12% a month. Working with them has definitely been beneficial. Once we started seeing those results, I felt confident handing over our email campaigns as well.
We pay them to increase our revenue and ROI, and they provide that tenfold — they are definitely doing their job. If an ad is not working, they pivot and put something in place that’s going to work; ads only last so long before they die out. Monster Agency® is able to continuously update the ads and keep our ROI high, and that’s what I like about them.
How did Monster Agency® perform from a project management standpoint?
Communication is good. There were some delays when they were working on videos — I don’t know if they had some staffing issues. However, they still delivered, and it was successful.
We’ve been using Slack a lot, which is a great communication tool and ties so many other apps together. They also give us weekly analytic updates.
We also email back and forth. Andrew recently sent out email updates regarding Apple and Facebook. He told us what they were doing and how they were tackling the issues. He kept all of his clients up to date.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I’d say the creativity makes them stand out. Monster Agency® is great. I see a lot of ads for other marketing agencies on Facebook, and I just haven’t had the desire to look anywhere else. They’re not just helping us create ads but also marketing. Our customers are their customers, too, which is really cool.
Are there any areas they could improve?
They could maybe offer more creative more frequently. I think that’s about it.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Do what they ask of you. Right out of the gate, there is a lot of setup and instructions. If you are serious about having somebody help you with advertising and marketing, you need to follow the directions that they give you. You’re going to be satisfied.

Our main metric is ROAS, which they’ve kept consistently. We’ve had a few small drops, as with any campaign. Overall, however, they’ve exceeded our goals. We’ve been very happy with everything. I can tell that their team cares about the results.
How did Monster Agency™ perform from a project management standpoint?
They’re great so far and they continue to improve. We always get the enhanced level of service that we’re looking for. We typically communicate via Slack, email, and video overviews. Sometimes, the video overviews are more helpful than the reports, since it feels like we’re in the room together.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Overall, their consistency and transparency stand out. If we do have any concerns, one of their team members goes over it with us using a hands-on approach until we understand the issue or we get the result we’re looking for.
Are there any areas they could improve?
It would be nice to have a bi-weekly meeting so we know what our next moves looking forward are.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
My advice is to be part an active part of the process. Don’t expect them to make magic happen; you need to be a key player and provide the best creatives. Give your input on what you know works best and explain what your target ROAS is. Monster Agency is very good at what they do but they don’t know your company better than you.
