Our organization would like to build a completely new website for its business, moving away from our current websites which are very templated and event-focused and towards a more news-style, multimedia website built on a CMS-focused platform.Must-have requirements:  

Easy to alter the site elements / drag & drop functionality for our team, no coding required Google Tag Manager code able to be easily implemented across the whole site 

The project must deliver a news-focused website with a dynamic feel and engaging design  

Event website elements and branding must be migrated from our current event websites and set up as microsites with subdomains under the main website URL. Event websites still need to have key elements such as sponsor catalogues and speaker lineups  Event information and content must also be easily accessible and visible, alongside and/or integrated with the main website content  

The website must be able to host multimedia content seamlessly – podcasts, videos, photos, PDFs, articles, etc. on the main content pages as well as the event microsite pages  

The website must be able to host embedded Pardot forms (iframe) & YouTube videos  The “hub” part of the website must display new, dynamic content on each visit so that users are not shown the same thing(s) each time they visit  

Upon visiting the site, users must be shown recommended content based on their behavioural history on the site and any profile metadata SEO optimisation for people to find event microsites directly if they have searched specifically for that event or certain keywords. This is particularly important since our clients would currently find our individual event websites directly by searching their event name, so this user journey should not be broken  

Tracking engagement for reporting and analytics is essential, both for optimisation and measuring success of the project: 

Video plays, video completion and play-through percentages, total watch time, article reads, scroll depth, lead generation, drop offs, most effective content recommendations, ad impressions and click throughs, pop-up views and click-throughs, most engaged user segments, bounce rate, average on-page/read times, comments and likes. 

Metrics such as page views and unique users among others may be covered by GA4 integration, but anything above which cannot be covered by GA4 should be tracked by the site and available for us to report on All applicable CIS Benchmarks must be used and followed  

All OWASP guidance should be followed for web application security including the Top Ten Training and ongoing support for our team for the new CMS platform and website

From start to finish, Lightflows provided regular updates on the project progress and met all the agreed timescales without any delays. They planned out all the timescales and kept us in the loop about which features would be delivered when. There was never any lateness and any feedback from user testing on our side was quickly incorporated within the agreed timeline.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The pricing was very competitive and the proposed tech stack was suitable for our budget without sacrificing on quality. They were very thorough with their work from proposal stage to delivery and post-launch support. As a marketing team with limited web development knowledge, we really like that they are down-to-earth people with a passion for what they do, and do not confuse us with technical jargon, but are able to explain things clearly and in a way we can understand! This, combined with their reliability and high-quality deliverables, have made them a dream to work with!

I’m the VP of marketing at Elements.cloud. We’re a software technology vendor that operates within the Salesforce community and ecosystem.

We hired Lightflows to redesign our website. Our team wanted to develop our brand and positioning within the ecosystem, and we needed a website that would reflect that. The Lightflows team was tasked with creating a website for communicating who we were and what we did.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Lightflows initially came up with the website’s design and strategy, helping us articulate our core values and messaging. They challenged us to think from a business point of view. Through their expertise, we honed in on content that could drive engagement within our community. This was part of modernizing our marketing efforts. Lightflows built the site’s frontend on WordPress and worked on our SEO needs.  

For the website’s design, Lightflows came up with the design elements, and we picked the ones that we liked. We then came up with different website layouts and worked on colors. They came up with ideas around our color schemes. When I was ready to move forward with a specific scheme, they implemented it across the entire website. 

At present, we’re still working with Lightflows. We’re planning to use their support for our PPC and go-to-market strategies, which we’ve started doing in-house. Since we’re quite limited in terms of people, we’re going to use the team’s help. Moreover, they’ve set up our website on Google Analytics to review data and see how the site is performing in terms of engagement.

Furthermore, we’ve also started to tweak our technologies to eliminate any holes that we might not be seeing. For instance, Lightflows has helped us use HubSpot within our website. This way, we get richer access to data and understand who is connecting with us. We know where they’re from and how often they see our page. We can then start connecting with them and have a meeting. 

Lightflows has also supported me on some tactical projects. For instance, when we’re hosting an event, they help me design the stand to keep it aligned with our website’s design. This way, everything comes together and has a cohesive look and feel. We continue engaging them on a retainer basis for our website and blogs. We’re constantly trying to tweak our message to connect with the right users and buyers.

Our team has access to three teammates from Lightflows, namely Matt (Founder & Managing Director), Nick (Lead Designer), and an account manager. The account manager hosts our meetings and works with their development team to make what we want happen.

We found the team via a recommendation. One of our founders worked with another company as an adviser, and Lightflows worked for that company. We chose them over their competitors because of their previous experience. They’d worked in the financial services industry before, so we had the confidence that they’d done something as complex as our project.

We’ve invested around $100,000. 

What is the status of this engagement?

The project started in August 2021, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We’ve seen an uptick in bookings and calls from customers because we now have a better website and SEO. Specifically, we’ve tripled the number of meetings we have with clients in a week. 

Overall, Lightflows has a firm strategy idea in place. The team has concrete knowledge and can support what they’re saying, so it’s helpful to have them. We feel we’re in good hands. 

How did Lightflows perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management skills have been great. They’re always trying to help us in a manner that matches our working style. 

For communication, we have weekly meetings in which we go through updates on what we’ve done, what we’re waiting for, and what’s happening. We use Zoom for that, and their team uses Asana to manage the engagement. 

For deadlines, they’ve been able to turn tasks around within 24 hours. They’ve met tight deadlines, and I truly appreciate that. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Lightflows truly knows their work. They’re knowledgeable and data-driven. Their members know what excellence looks like, and they strive to achieve that. Moreover, they’re not afraid to challenge us — customers aren’t always right. I have great confidence in what they’ve delivered and what they’ve been sharing with us. 

On top of that, they don’t mind teaching us, which is good because our team likes to learn how everything works. The Lightflows team has been good at helping us with this. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there aren’t any. Everything has been great and positive. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be open to Lightflows’ suggestions; don’t be close-minded. Even if you have specific ideas on how things should be done, you still have to be open to the constructive feedback that might come your way. Any feedback they give comes from their knowledge and experience, and that’s why they try to challenge their clients on certain things. Simply put, trust them because they know what they’re doing. Try to listen to them instead of just telling them what to do.

Since launch, they have maintained, upgraded and are constantly suggesting improvements. They have also created another front-end for the website that runs a touchscreen app, and provide well-researched Content Marketing in the form of copywriting and brief suggestions.

Increases year-on-year in traffic to the website through organic channels, and scaling of the site as we expand the number of houses that we built.

Having a dedicated project manager has been brilliant, the consistency, and relationship that we've built is a huge comfort. They are always open to new ideas, through to developing and delivering them as a well-thought-out outcome. Timing wise, they are very flexible to either short deadlines, or having to extend projects.

LRG represent in excess of 800 Michelin star and AA Rosette awarded restaurants throughout the UK. We offer a subscription based membership model whereby people become members and receive privileges and benefits at participating restaurants during their membership period. Our existing system had been created over a period of 10 years where the website was the original membership offering and the app had been introduced later. 

The administration database's supporting both of these platforms were separate and all entries require massive duplication in work. The website and app were very different in design and gave users totally different experiences. LRG wanted to bring it's brand including website and app up to date with a redevelopment of both incorporating a new administration database that worked with both platforms and reduced the amount of work required. 

The website and app needed to have a luxury feel to be able to represent the brands with which we work, whilst also providing the key information that customers needed to be able to make use of the membership we offer or interested in purchasing.

The project was broken down into bitesize chunks at development stage and at each point in the project delivery targets were met.

We have had the same point of contact from starting our relationship with Lightflows through to today. This really helps us as we have the confidence to know that they are fully aware of our business needs and the issues we are working to overcome. Lightflows now have such an understanding of what we do, that they are able to recommend new ideas and developments that we haven't thought of and enable us to envisage how they will enhance what we do.

We needed help with app creation for one of our clients.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They developed an iOS and Android e-commerce app. It was a completely fresh innovation from the client. They’re a pawnbroker and wanted to be able to send valuations through the app. Customers can also make offers for items. 

They also did online e-commerce integration with WooCommerce. 

What is the team composition?

There were 3-4 people.

How did you come to work with Lightflows?

I wanted somebody local with experience in WordPress. We spoke to a number of vendors. We chose Lightflows for their knowledge, innovation, and affordable pricing.

How much have you invested with them?

Our client paid them directly, but the project cost about $25,000-$35,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from mid-2018 until February 2019.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They were very innovative. They didn’t require much feedback from us in terms of how to make the app look good. They were very spontaneous and creative. The initial release looked great. We didn’t really need to do too much cosmetically to it. That was a very good plus.

There are hundreds of online valuations that have gone through. It’s another stream of revenue that comes in through the app store. There are lots of loans and interest generated for our client. There are lots of newly registered users on the e-commerce site. It’s been a very positive experience for the client overall.

How did Lightflows perform from a project management standpoint?

We communicated a couple of times per week. In the beginning, we had much more communication. The innovation side of the project was very good.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The UI/UX of the app was most impressive. It was thoughtfully designed and very slick. We showed them somebody else’s app as a reference, and it ended up looking far better than that. They came up with the look, feel, and functionality.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, we’re happy. The initial problems weren’t their fault as the client kept changing the specifications.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

 Have a really clear idea of what you want the app to do and what your goals are. How you want the app to be tracked is important as well to make it measurable and to make sure you’re getting sales and leads through it.
