BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m responsible for marketing, sales, and guest experience at a large Canadian ski resort.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Lift Interactive Inc.?
Our primary goal was to develop an up-to-date, user-friendly website for our company.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
They developed an entirely new website based on Wagtail. The website was designed to engage our customers, promote our brand, and allow people to purchase products through an online store. We wanted to have a seamless interaction with our customers so they could have all the information they needed. They completely replaced the CMS.
What is the team composition?
There were two primary members of the team and two secondary staffers. In total, four people worked on the site.
How did you come to work with Lift Interactive Inc.?
We found about them through word-of-mouth. They’ve done some work with a local tourism organization in the area, and we were referred to them. We looked at the work they had done and determined it was a good fit. We did put out a request for proposals on the website, but Lift Interactive came back with the best proposal based on how we would interact with them and how we could communicate with their company. Their rates were also very competitive. We’d initially worked with them on a website project in 2018, and they helped us out again with a second website.
How much have you invested with them?
Our team has invested $25,000–$50,000 in the project.
What is the status of this engagement?
We’ve developed two websites with them. This project ran from April 2019 to October 2019.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Anecdotally, the feedback we’ve had has all been very positive. Customers find it to be very user-friendly. They find the images and overall look and feel have been very appealing. This positive feedback has come from internal stakeholders, but also from external customers. They have created a correct portrayal of our brand and what they have to offers.
Their team is also very quick to react to any changes we want to make, from a technical perspective.
How did Lift Interactive Inc. perform from a project management standpoint?
They performed very well. We are a medium-sized company with some limitations in regard to human resources, but they were very responsive in terms of helping us develop the pages and writing content for us. Working with them was an excellent experience. They were right on-time and wanted to hit the target launch date.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They were very patient and could translate the technical language into layman’s terms. I enjoyed working with them because their team quickly understood our needs as a ski area. They provided suggestions, directions, and thoughts that were very helpful. I was a bit nervous about having to feed them information, but they did a really good job of researching and asking us questions to put together a good site.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I think they were a bit anxious to get the site launched; they were quite excited, understandably, to launch it on the exact date. We just had to pull back a bit to make sure the project was 100% ready. Of course, they complied and held the site back for a couple of weeks. That’s not much of a complaint, but they were a bit disappointed.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Develop a relationship with the key person working on the site. The company that commissions them to need to be highly responsive to their questions. If you don’t do that, you just fall further and further behind.

The team helped brand and market a complex product. Deliverables included a new visual identity, site and software UX consultations and designs, a marketing and consultation strategy, and posters.
The user-friendly software has garnered praise from users, who also enjoy the new look of the website. Lift Interactive Inc. understood the importance of branding identity for startups and delivered an effective marketing strategy. The team was responsive to questions and communicated seamlessly.

transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CEO and founder of a statistics software company. We create single-source software for researchers.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Lift Interactive Inc.?
Our product is quite disruptive to the usual research environment and cycle. It’s very complicated, and I was having trouble finding a way to present it to people in an understandable way. I needed to get the product’s message and value proposition across.
The other part of the problem was making the software simple enough that people would actually feel comfortable using it. The software involves a lot of backend math, so I needed the UI to be more approachable.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
We had five major deliverables for this project: first, a brand and visual identity update; second, message and value proposition communication; third, a UX consultation and redesign for the website; fourth, a UX consultation, design, and update for the software interface; and fifth, a marketing and consultation strategy.
My field is a bit unique, so it took a while for us to understand one another and go over the software. We did a value proposition workshop to establish what this product was and its value. From there, Lift Interactive Inc. split up the project. We looked at how the project’s five pieces fit together and adjusted accordingly so that by the end, we had one package that encompassed all five deliverables.
When we were looking at the visual identity, Lift Interactive Inc. asked us to provide them with our visual icons and canonical images in statistics. I sent all of that via their project management software, and they looked through it and came back with suggestions. The team also helped me create a double-sided poster that I can give to people when I speak about the product.
What is the team composition?
Our main point of contact was Micah (Co-Founder and Principal, Lift Interactive Inc.) I worked with Hammad Syed and Matt Remley on the coordination of the project. Jason Gilliland did a great job on the graphics side. There were a couple of other team members that I interacted with, but for the most part, a lot of the work got done behind the scenes; for instance, Lift Interactive Inc. had someone working on the marketing and consultation strategy. There were between 5–10 people working on the project at any given time.
How did you come to work with Lift Interactive Inc.?
I went to one of their presentations at a startup event and was very impressed by their understanding of the importance of branding and visual identity. They echoed that startups need a strong brand from the beginning to create passion among users. They did an excellent presentation of their previous work, and that led to the next step.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent $26,250 on this project.
What is the status of this engagement?
The project ran from March–July 2019.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We don’t have any metrics yet to measure how effective it has been for customer acquisition since we just finished the project, but I’m satisfied with the work. Our customers report that the software is easier to use, and they like the site’s new look.
The posters they created were hugely helpful; when I previously explained my product to people, they’d forget about it, but the posters help prevent that by echoing the value proposition. They initiate passion for the product.
How did Lift Interactive Inc. perform from a project management standpoint?
This was my first time working on this kind of project. I generally prefer leading or doing it myself, so it was a bit different working with Lift Interactive Inc. and being the customer. Lift Interactive Inc. was a down-to-earth group, and it was easy to explain to them what was going on. They used project management software, and there weren’t any problems with communication. When I had questions, they had answers. Micah always answered emails within 24 hours.
What did you find most impressive about them?
What worked really well was Lift Interactive Inc.’s strong local presence. I had looked at vendors outside of the city who said they could do the work, but having the local presence so we could meet with them was invaluable. That’s something that’s underrated in tech; most teams are remote and work from a distance. That works fine to some extent, but Lift Interactive’s Inc. has done a good job of establishing themselves as one of the premier companies to do this kind of work in the area.
Are there any areas they could improve?
As a more technically minded customer, I would’ve appreciated more information about what was going on behind the scenes before we reached the big reveal.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
What worked for my company was starting with a global idea but also very specific deliverables; it made it easier for us to make sure that we got to where we were going. As a technical founder, I can easily get lost in the more artistic and humanistic of branding. Have a good set of deliverables and let their team know what your objectives are so that they can do their work.

Lift Interactive, Inc. built a web-based app that uses Plaid’s API to connect to a user’s bank and simplify bookkeeping. Using Python, Django, and Java, they designed a platform with a pleasing aesthetic.
Lift Interactive, Inc. developed a glitch-free application that enables users to manage their finances in a fraction of the time it used to. While maintaining communication throughout the project, their team presented helpful ideas for new features that enhanced the quality of the product.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited
transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I am the founder of Intello, a web-based application software that builds bookkeeping and helps individuals with business income file their taxes.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Lift Interactive, Inc.?
We wanted to update our software so we could offer bookkeeping services. We wanted to include features that would enable users to import transactions directly from multiple accounts, making it incredibly easy to separate business and personal transactions. The application would assign specific tax codes based on the type of transaction, complete tax calculations, and provide forms that could be filed like a report.
I had a basic design in mind and developed a few working prototypes, but needed to find an agency that could actually build it and make it a reality. We then secured government funding to build an MVP.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Our project was broken into two parts. First, we developed a simple version of the platform using the wireframes that I had designed. Going into the project, we used Marvel to show how the application would function. Then, after releasing a beta, we used feedback to determine what additional features we should add while staying within budget.
Although I had a few ideas going into the project, they designed the platform’s aesthetic and created the UI. The program is written in Python and they used Django to create the administrative aspect of the platform. We then used Java to create the frontend and Plaid’s API to connect the platform to users’ bank credentials.
What is the team composition?
We had a project manager who was critical to the success of the project. Their team was comprised of a technology lead, who oversaw complex processes and took a holistic approach of the project and both a front- and backend developer. We also consulted a designer at the beginning of the project and again when we decided to expand the scope.
How did you come to work with Lift Interactive, Inc.?
I found Lift Interactive, Inc. on Clutch and was really impressed by their reviews. I talked with a few different companies about the project, but ended up selecting Lift Interactive, Inc. because they had the most confidence.
We had a few other companies turn down the project because they weren’t familiar with API or the finance space, but Lift Interactive, Inc. had completed similar projects before. When we hired them, they were just finishing up one of these projects, so our timing was perfect.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve invested between $50,000–$100,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We worked together from August 2018–July 2019.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We have just launched the product, so our data is limited. However, the application is error- and glitch-free. We had a few small issues during the beta test, but Lift Interactive, Inc. was able to clean them up quickly. Now, the program allows users to prepare their books in a small percentage of the time it would take them to do the same thing in excel.
It was also very important that we gained our users’ trust because we needed to connect to their bank account for the application to work. While I was worried that people would be hesitant to share their information, it wasn’t an issue at all because our platform is professional and we received great feedback.
How did Lift Interactive, Inc. perform from a project management standpoint?
They were great and didn’t let anything slip through the cracks. I knew exactly what our status was for each step of the project. Despite having a few restrictions because of our budget, they were able to suggest features that would make the biggest impact on UX. They were also very transparent in billing, which was really helpful.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They really made our product better. I had a lot of ideas, but they narrowed down the scope of the project and solved a bunch of our problems. After working with them, I have a greater appreciation for design and how much it can make a difference.
Are there any areas they could improve?
They are a bit costly, but we got the quality that we paid for. I’d worry about going to another vendor with a lower quote because they might add additional fees when we needed to add something and be even more expensive than Lift Interactive, Inc.

BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I am the economic development coordinator for Flagstaff County in Alberta, Canada.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Lift Interactive Inc.?
We wanted to create a website for a program called Flagstaff Crafted that is part of our local artisan movement. We also wanted a resource bank for artisans and makers. The site would be a directory that would help artisans market themselves to increase their sales. Instead of the multiple websites that existed, we wanted to centralize everything in one location with their branding.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Lift Interactive Inc. designed the website from start to finish. We began with a discovery phase before they took us through the whole project, from the branding and feel to customer research.
Then, their team templated our website, focusing on making sure it was both functional and user-friendly. They incorporated the design and branding we wanted. The backend was built using Wagtail CMS, which allowed us to make updates without outside help.
What is the team composition?
Our project manager was our main point of contact. While other people from Lift Interactive Inc. worked on the project, I primarily communicated with them and the developer.
How did you come to work with Lift Interactive Inc.?
We originally got a quote from Lift Interactive Inc. after they built another website that we really liked for a food bank we are in contact with. As a municipality, we had to gather quotes from multiple vendors. We chose Lift Interactive Inc. because their proposal was a good value, despite being in the mid-range of prices.
Compared to other vendors, Lift Interactive Inc. seemed really engaged in our project when we talked to them. They cared about the whole project, providing great advice and suggestions early on.
How much have you invested with them?
We have invested about $40,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
Our engagement with Lift Interactive Inc. ran from November 2018-June 2019.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The feedback we’ve received from the artisans who have signed up has been incredible. They’re all really happy to have access to their own backend that they can edit to market themselves. Everyone has said the site is easy to use, which is great because not everyone is good with technology.
We haven’t done any marketing to get consumers to the website yet. Right now we’re focusing on getting artisans to sign up. They love the look of the site, and we’re really happy with it. The Lift Interactive Inc. team nailed our branding.
How did Lift Interactive Inc. perform from a project management standpoint?
Lift Interactive Inc. communicated with us through ActiveCollab, which was nice because everything was in one place. Whenever we had a question we would post it there, and other team members would jump in to answer it. They were very responsive, and we had full access to them. Their team almost always responded within the day. It was a really smooth project.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The Lift Interactive Inc. team genuinely cared about the product. They gave us really good advice on how to design blogs to perform better, make headers, come up with creative wording and other tasks. They went above and beyond in making sure the website does exactly what it was designed for.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No. They did really well and were clear in their expectations. Lift Interactive Inc. delivered the project on time and on budget, with a higher quality product than I expected.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Be really clear with them so they can manage their timeline and expectations. Other than that, trust them and their instincts. They’ll do a good job for you.

Lift Interactive Inc. redesigned a website for a nonprofit, having built the original 14 years prior. Using market research and focus group feedback, they improved the site’s layout, content, and navigation.
The new site receives rave reviews from users, who note it’s design and navigability. The team at Lift Interactive Inc. remained accommodating throughout the process, responding quickly to any arising issues. Their expertise and ability to deliver quality results made for a successful partnership.

BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I am the manager of strategic relationships and partnerships at Edmonton’s Food Bank. I’m responsible for a team of people that helps raise funds, food donations, and volunteers for the organization.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Lift Interactive Inc.?
Lift Interactive Inc. designed our original website in 2004, making frequent adjustments throughout the years. However, what was state of the art at the time is now outdated. We wanted to redesign the website, make it mobile responsive, and give us the ability to update it ourselves. Our volunteer login page, navigation, and content also needed upgrading.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Lift Interactive Inc. completely redesigned our website, moving it from Harmony to a new platform. Our teams looked at Google Analytics together to see how most people were entering our site. They were able to walk us through the steps that it would take to move us from the old site to the new one.
We conducted focus groups and interviews, which helped us understand the feedback we received. Their team conducted market research, walked us through the steps required, and provided guidance on how to upgrade our content. They added video hosting capabilities and improved our navigation, ensuring there were no more hidden pages.
What is the team composition?
We worked primarily with Hammad (Project Coordinator, Lift Interactive Inc.), Thorren (Strategy Director, Lift Interactive Inc.), and Jordan (Designer, Lift Interactive Inc.) at different times throughout the engagement.
How did you come to work with Lift Interactive Inc.?
My boss at a former position knew Micah (Principle, Lift Interactive Inc.), so I had experience working with their team before. We hired Lift Interactive Inc. to do the original website and they were very supportive of the food bank, going as far as to build our old website for free as a gift. We enjoyed that interaction with them, so it made sense to work with them again for the redesign.
How much have you invested with them?
We invested $25,000 into revamping the website, and two funders stepped forward to help us with it.
What is the status of this engagement?
We worked with Lift Interactive Inc. from May 2018-May 2019
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We’ve received wonderful feedback on the website. People really like how clean and clear the new design is. The new site is much easier to navigate and flows very nicely.
How did Lift Interactive Inc. perform from a project management standpoint?
Lift Interactive Inc. used GatherContent to centralize the process on one platform. They were understanding about how some technologies that were simple for them, might be more difficult for us. We ended up communicating mostly through email because it was easiest for us. When we had trouble understanding something, they were always willing to sit down for a meeting with us.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I was impressed by the atmosphere at Lift Interactive Inc.’s offices and the personalities of their team members. They were able to take a layman through these complicated processes, which was helpful for us. Despite the knowledge gap we had, we were able to find the perfect middle ground.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Although we had a great relationship with Lift Interactive Inc., there were a few communication issues at the beginning. It was difficult for us to always log in to their system to view the project, but they were very accommodating.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Don’t be afraid to speak up if something’s not clear.

BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I'm the marketing manager at Tourism Jasper. We’re the destination marketing organization for the city of Jasper and Jasper National Park in Canada.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Lift Interactive Inc.?
We wanted to do a complete overhaul of our website to make it more content focused and user-friendly. We also wanted it to be more contemporary, more visually appealing, and easier to navigate.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
We started from scratch to completely redo the website. The team had a lot of excellent ideas, especially after they did a thorough audit of external sites. Lift took the time to figure out what would work best for our needs. They ended up deciding to build the backend in wagtail.
The full search functionality and the navigation were two of the more significant features that they added. They also built a trip planner that allows users to seamlessly build their own itinerary and share content via email. Lift added several other tools that provide content-sharing capabilities on different parts of the site.
What is the team composition?
Micah (Principal, Lift Interactive Inc.) led the project, and we worked with a variety of different team members. We communicated with a designer, coordinators, backend developers—probably seven people in total, each one at a specific phase of the project.
How did you come to work with Lift Interactive Inc.?
We've been working with them for almost five years now, so we've gotten to know them well. We did an RFP for this project because it's so massive, but, in the end, they were still the best company.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent $75,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started with a brief in November 2018, and the site launched in April 2019.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We have one of the best destination travel websites in Canada right now. Our site displays content beautifully across all of its pages and is very easy to navigate. Lift has overachieved and over-delivered on their promise of building a brand website that’s content-focused, appealing, and user-friendly.
How did Lift Interactive Inc. perform from a project management standpoint?
The process was smooth. They were great to work with and willing to help us achieve our goal. It was an excellent collaboration, mainly because they were so responsive. They were also great in terms of building the scope and solidifying deadlines. The team was organized and detailed with their scheduling and could adjust when necessary. We didn’t have to do much on our end to make sure that the project continued.
We worked together through an app called ActiveCollab. We reached out to them on a daily basis through the app, and every time, they would get back to us within a few hours. We also participated in Google Hangouts calls. Although they’re based in a different city, they never seemed far away. We felt like they were right there with us throughout the whole process.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They have a deep knowledge and understanding of websites. Their expertise was amazing, and this contributed to the smooth development process. We had a great experience working with them because of their willingness to help and high level of professionalism.
Are there any areas they could improve?
To be honest, no, there isn’t. They were right on budget—they stuck to the quote that they gave us—and we got more than we expected. All of our shareholders are extremely happy, so I have nothing negative to report.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
I don’t have much in terms of advice. Lift will handle the process for you.

BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CEO & co-founder of an online legal service company called UNDO.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Lift Interactive?
We wanted to build a web application for our MVP. We also wanted help to develop our branding.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
We gave them an idea of what we were looking for in a large document and they gave us a detailed quote about what would be done, how long it would take, and how much it would cost.
We had a large meeting with everyone involved in the project. In addition to creating our web app, they came up with the name for our website, did a brand guide, and selected a font. They also managed a Google Ads campaign for us, and did research on which keywords we should focus on.
What is the team composition?
I worked with 12 members of their team, and Jennifer (Account Manager, Lift Interactive) was my main point of contact for a large part of the project.
How did you come to work with Lift Interactive?
I previously worked with one of their senior personnel on a website for a condo board. I also have colleagues who had positive interactions with them.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve invested more than $100,000 CAD (approximately $75,000 USD).
What is the status of this engagement?
We began working together in April 2017, and the project ended in June 2019.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The branding work was outstanding and everyone loves it. The site itself is very functional.
How did Lift Interactive perform from a project management standpoint?
Anytime there was an issue, they were quick to remedy it. Overall, they had excellent workmanship and good customer service.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They were very good in terms of accommodating changes as they arose.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, nothing comes to mind.

Lift Interactive Inc. developed a brand and visual identity for a new e-commerce venture. Services included wireframing, copywriting and messaging, SEO, marketing, analytics, and web development.
Although the new brand hasn’t launched, internal stakeholders are pleased with Lift Interactive Inc.’s top-quality deliverables. The widely-talented team was receptive and engaging, deploying various software apps to share progress and foster seamless communication.

BACKGROUND
Please describe your company and your position there.
I’m a founding partner and architect at My Modern Home, a new e-commerce business that sells architecturally designed modern home plans. The online platform will offer homeowners a new way to engage architects.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
For what projects/services did your company hire Lift Interactive Inc.?
My company hired Lift Interactive Inc. to help us develop a strategy focused on branding, visual identity, e-commerce, copywriting, SEO, marketing, analytics, and web development, particularly UI and UX.
What were your goals for this project?
We didn’t just want a web developer; we wanted a partner that could provide the services, expertise, and creativity necessary to bring clarity and focus to our new business.
SOLUTION
How did you select this vendor?
We did our research and learned more about the industry, and then we did an extensive review of digital providers on Clutch. My team held telephone interviews with several companies, contacted their client references, and shortlisted three companies to submit RFPs to.
After reviewing the submitted proposals, we chose Lift Interactive Inc.; their range of expertise met our needs, and their description of a holistic approach aligned with our vision.
Describe the scope of their work in detail.
The process began with a workshop aimed at better understanding our business, vision, clientele, opportunities, and likely challenges. This helped us determine how we would deliver our message.
Lift Interactive Inc. then developed a visual brand identity for My Modern Home, which included a company logo, branded font type, color palette, icons, and business cards. Following this branding phase, we moved into wireframing, which allowed us to see how our customers would come to understand our business and ideally make a purchase. Once we established the UX, we finetuned the message and copy-writing.
What was the team composition?
My team worked with a project manager and designers.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Our new business hasn’t launched, so our insights are currently limited to a smaller internal audience. That being said, we feel that Lift Interactive Inc.’s deliverables were outstanding and on point. We can't wait to share their work with the world.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Since we were a new startup still searching for an identity, it took us a bit of time to hit our stride. Lift Interactive Inc. helped us refine our collective vision and streamline our workflow.
Working out of different cities didn’t impact our partnership because it was easy to communicate and stay in touch. The project manager oversaw the project and managed communications. We had daily contact with the designers working on different aspects of the project. We held meetings over Google Meet and shared work through apps like InVision Board, ActiveCollab, Miro, and Gather Content. All of our communications were collected and archived in ActiveCollab. We also used email.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Lift Interactive Inc. put together an incredible team for my project. Their individual talents resulted in work that met my high expectations.
Are there any areas for improvement?
A high-level overview of the project delivery process would’ve helped my team to visualize how we would complete the project. Although this would’ve been clear to Lift Interactive Inc., my team had never gone through a process like this before.

BACKGROUND
Please describe your company and your position there.
I'm one of the owners and managing partners of Pip Food & Drink. We are a small, comfort food restaurant that serves brunch seven days per week and dinner in the evenings with cocktails.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
For what projects/services did your company hire Lift Interactive Inc.?
We hired Lift Interactive to define our brand through interior design and web materials.
What were your goals for this project?
We wanted to tell our story through the visual design of our space and marketing materials. We wanted to take a fun approach to the brand through visual designs and graphics. By the end of the project, we wanted our small space to feel welcoming and bright during the day, yet cozy and intimate in the evenings.
SOLUTION
How did you select this vendor?
We selected Lift based on their award-winning reputation, but also because we love to support small local businesses.
Describe the scope of their work in detail.
We sat down with Lift to discuss our plans and determine whether they would be a good fit for us. Then, we transitioned into brainstorming sessions to outline preliminary ideas about the future brand. We landed on some great colors, graphics, and design details. From there, the project evolved into developing marketing materials and the website.
What was the team composition?
I had the pleasure of working closely with one of the brand directors. Maintaining one point of contact streamlined the communication, and it allowed for open honest feedback.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We were all so happy with the outcome of our design. With two other restaurants right next door, we were pleased that the team's work allowed us to stand out. Although their branding work is one piece of the pie, it has helped to build a new clientele through our social media channels, menus, and website.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
The workflow was smooth and efficient. They always sent updates and adhered to the timeline.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
We were most impressed with the evolution of our brand and how well the team understood what we wanted to achieve. It was a great experience to speak with the brand manager on a regular basis and hear updates about their progress.
They have such a wonderful family feel to their team. We found them to be very thorough and professional, yet also casual and flexible.
Are there any areas for improvement?
There are none that I can think of at this time.

Lift Interactive developed a Django-based interactive website that features embedded, 360-degree virtual field tours of Canada’s boreal forest to serve researchers better.
Lift Interactive delivers on the high quality of work that they promise. The team has a thorough testing process, resulting in polished final products, and they respond quickly to all errors and changes. They are communicative and organized, making for an agreeable engagement.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited
transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I am a co-owner of Fuse Consulting. We do science communication and knowledge exchange work.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Lift Interactive?
We engaged Lift Interactive for web development support.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
We relied on Lift Interactive to develop an interactive website that offers virtual field tours for people working in the boreal forest of Canada. We needed a robust website that could host 360-degree interactive tours that we built. Lift Interactive developed the website using Django and embedded the tours within the site.
What is the team composition?
Thorren (Strategy Director, Lift Interactive) was the high-level project manager, while Daniella (User Experience Designer and Strategist, Lift Interactive) was our day-to-day contact. We also worked with an administrative assistant and the firm's development team, which included several other individuals.
How did you come to work with Lift Interactive?
We learned of Lift Interactive while searching for web development firms for a client a few years ago. Our client ultimately decided to not move forward with that project, but we became familiar with Lift Interactive’s work during that process, and we hoped that we could eventually work with them.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent about $25,000 CAD (approximately $18,600 USD).
What is the status of this engagement?
Our engagement spanned December 2018–February 2019.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We have received an exceptional product. Everything positive that we heard about Lift Interactive’s abilities from past clients proved to be true during our engagement. When the website came to me for final approval, it had only one or two minor things that needed to be addressed, and Lift Interactive cleared them up quickly. It’s evident that they did a lot of double-checking and testing on their own. We were pleased to receive a clean product that didn’t require substantial edits.
How did Lift Interactive perform from a project management standpoint?
Daniella and I interacted throughout, and she was always responsive. Lift Interactive provided access to an online program that allowed our teams to post comments and questions for the other to address. Through that tool, Lift Interactive did well keeping the project on track.
What did you find most impressive about them?
It’s clear that they have a unique culture and approach to the work they’re doing. They have a high standard for the quality of their work, and they feature a creative work environment. They have set a high bar, and, much like our company, they’ve carved a niche where that’s the expectation of them.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Lift Interactive is not the cheapest firm, but if we’re paying a premium price and we receive a premium product, then we’re happy. They charge that premium price, but they’re able to deliver, so it’s justified.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
I think it’s helpful to meet their team in person and have some interactions that way. It’s not necessary, but seeing their work environment was a valuable thing for us as we began the project.
