I’m a graphic designer at Axor Industry, and I manage our online projects. We’re a Ukrainian window and door hardware manufacturer that primarily offers PVC and timber products.

What challenge were you trying to address with Lampa Studio?

We make parts for window manufacturers who sell to distributors, so we wanted to create an app to automate our distributor loyalty program. Basically, we incentivize distributors to buy from manufacturers that use our hardware using a bonus-points system.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We built the app for both iOS and Android devices, and Lampa Studio was responsible for programming the frontend. We’ve launched a usable MVP version if the platform, and now we’re working on more features.

I worked with a company representative, two project managers, a designer, three developers, and there may have been more in the background.

We searched online and contacted all potential candidates. We went through a tender process, and Lampa Studio offered the best price and time estimates.

We spent just over $20,000 on Lampa Studio’s services.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in the summer of 2018, and we just released the MVP version of the app.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Given that we’re not yet running the app at full speed, I can’t really speak to any impacts. With that said, Lampa Studio is an amazing team and has delivered quality work. I’m optimistic about the results we’ll see once we roll out the final product.

How did Lampa Studio perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re receptive to feedback and open to all of our suggestions. Whenever we need to speak them, they make themselves available. So far, we haven’t had any issues with their management skills.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I haven’t worked with any other development studios, so I can’t compare them to any past experiences. From my perspective, they're a team of skilled and reliable individuals. It’s been a very positive partnership.

We got a working app and a UI/UX design process that I had direct access to along the way on Figma. As a designer myself, the app was built beautifully.

We communicated via email and Slack. Lampa Software delivered on time. Whenever we hit a roadblock (usually on my end), the team followed up consistently. The project manager was good at following up as well.

What challenge were you trying to address with Lampa Software?

We were looking to build a new feature to bring AI concierge chat functionality into our owner app. Owners can use this feature to get immediate answers to their questions and concerns while providing escalation to a real person if necessary.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of work with Lampa Software?

Lampa Software developed the AI concierge chat feature for our Android and iOS app. They integrated the app with a gRPC chat server to stream messages and responses with an AI bot. Additionally, they integrated Salesforce in-app chat SDK for escalations.

We worked with two teammates from Lampa Software.

How did you come to work with Lampa Software?

Our CTO found Lampa Software through an online search. We chose them over other options because their expertise, professionalism, fast response times, and cost were all attractive. Additionally, they were willing to give us an opportunity to utilize a coding exercise with their developer to verify their skills before confirming.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from March–June 2025.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The outcome was a relatively solid concierge chat implementation in our apps. The code quality was reasonably high given the timeframe, but it required some refactoring and fixes from our internal team to make it truly production-ready. I'm still confident that, were it not for engaging with Lampa Software on this project, we wouldn't have been able to build this feature in parallel with the other high-priority features our own team was working on.

We viewed success as having 50% of our inbound owner questions coming from this in-app chat feature. Of those, we were looking to have 50% of them resolved autonomously by the chatbot. Currently, 56% of owner questions/chats are initiated from the app, and 43% of those questions are resolved autonomously by the chatbot.

How did Lampa Software perform from a project management standpoint?

Project management was the only area that could've been improved. Lampa Software was very responsive and receptive to feedback, and they worked diligently on the project to get it over the finish line. However, the process along the way came with periods of uncertainty. At times, it was difficult to get visibility into their progress or firm milestone commitments leading up to the final launch. We use JIRA for tracking work, but they had difficulty keeping it updated to reflect their progress.

To address this challenge, we had more frequent standups with them. They were very flexible with hours and showed commitment to the very end to deliver on the functionality.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Lampa Software's ability to work quickly within our codebase following established patterns to produce high-quality code was impressive. They did all of this with very little hand-holding or guidance from our internal team.

Their developers were very talented and able to ramp up and follow existing patterns quickly with little to no oversight.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Lampa Software could've utilized JIRA better to provide us with more visibility into their progress.

Internally, the logistics tools developed helped automate several manual processes, resulting in increased efficiency and reduced errors. Additionally, the code refactoring improved maintainability and scalability, which has already saved time on subsequent development tasks.

Updating and rebuilding our weather app for Android and IOS. Our Android app was using legacy Java and SDKs and needed to be upgraded to Kotlin. This was a complete overhaul of the app functionality to a new Kotlin codebase and code branches. In addition, a new app was built for IOS (Swift) to mirror the same functionality as the Android app. A large number of stories had to be designed and managed in epics to migrate and rebuild existing functionality.

New design and wireframes for IOS app; review and finalization of initial design; first implementation available for testing and uploading code to our Github repo.

Kate is great to work with, takes detailed notes and follows up frequently to make sure that teams have access to all resources that are needed, including functionality (e.g. API) that our team needed to provide to theirs to continue developing our apps.

Are there any areas for improvement or something  Lampa Software could have done differently?

Initial meetings were very informal in terms of physical presentation, though given the situation in Ukraine, to be expected. There was no slide deck or other presentation given which could have better assured our team of the expected work flows and costs. There can be a language barrier when dealing with specific issues (for example, graphical bugs), but this was very minor overall. 
Monthly budgets and invoices do not provide the level of detail they should, including hours worked and rates per team or task/project. This required us to ask multiple times for estimated monthly costs compared to the deliverables list, to make sure we could stay within budget or adjust expected deliverables.
