What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Everything that Justwords has delivered to us has met our expectations.  

How did Justwords deliver from a project management standpoint?

Justwords is excellent at delivering quality content on time; I don’t recall any instance where they’ve failed to meet our deadline. Their team has also delivered urgent assignments and large quantities of content without affecting their work quality. They’ve exceeded our expectations when it comes to scheduling. 

Initially, we’ve had some challenges on the quality of their work, big assignments, and delivery priorities, but Justwords has improved over time. I no longer encounter any issues about those things. They’ve understood the scale we need and planned accordingly, resulting in a smooth workflow. 

Our coordinator is excellent. She ensures her team has understood our requirements clearly before they start working on a project. We’re satisfied with what their team does. We usually communicate through emails and phone calls, and someone from their team is always available to answer our inquiries at any hour of the day.

I’m impressed with Justwords’ consistency, scheduling reliability, and quality of work. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

Justwords can improve their creativity and their work’s tone and language. That said, their team implements improvements based on our feedback.

Outline your project’s scope to Justwords, and they will do their best to deliver what you need — they’re good in content marketing. Don’t think twice if you’re considering working with them. Go ahead and give them a try — you won’t regret it.

After a kick-off meeting we started the training process so that JustWords could understand the kind of content we need to create. Over the course of several months their writers submitted articles and we sent them feedback so that they could improve, until we reached the desired scale.

Justwords was already an approved freelancer for homify.in when I took over my role in July 2019. They were chosen from a pool of agencies/freelancers based on review of a couple of text articles written by them for homify and because they offered a competitive rate per article.

They create around 50-70 articles every month. Each article highlight a specific project completed or designed by a premium professional registered on homify. Besides writing the article, Justwords is also responsible for selecting images to include in the article.

Payel is the main point of contact. Pallavi is the person who is responsible for the daily scheduling and uploading of completed articles that are written by the team of writers at Justwords.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

JustWords is very responsive and excellent at delivering articles within the submission deadline.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We work through an online Publishing Plan that includes details of the articles to be written and on which links to the articles can be uploaded once completed. Very rarely do I need to communicate with the team directly on email or Skype as they are prompt with delivery.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Responsiveness. Speed of delivery.

Are there any areas for improvement?

The work involved can get a bit monotonous for any writer. The Justwords team could find ways to write similar content in a more innovative manner.

I’m the founder and CEO of Rapid Repair. We specialize in smart device repair, especially iPhones, iPads, and other high-end Apple devices. We started the business in January 2019 with the aim of establishing ourselves as a local brand in Delhi, which is the largest market in India.

We started with the aim of establishing ourselves as an independent, third-party, brand-agnostic, direct-to-consumer company. Hence, it wasn’t our focus to get authorizations and certifications from companies like Apple, Samsung, and so on. We wanted to establish ourselves as an independent brand because that kind of customer experience was lacking in India. Places like the US already have established and mature independent third-party providers for repairs.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Justwords?

It was difficult to start the company because we weren’t in a fashionable industry. It was tough for us to market ourselves, and we saw online marketing and Google Ads as the best option to grow our brand. Over a period of six months, it became clear to us that paid media wasn’t just Google, but it could also be Facebook and other channels.

It could get us conversions, but we really had to build our own brand and get customers that would value and promote our services. We realized that we had to start using content marketing and organic channels. That was the key to starting a new service product. Paid media could definitely give us results, but, at the same time, it wasn’t going to be economical.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Justwords has done keyword research for us, and they’ve helped us develop backlinks and content. They didn’t work with us on paid ads, though. Our contract with Justwords was purely for SEO and content.

How did you come to work with Justwords?

In the US, there are lots of companies and gurus that can help businesses create their brand and get the right content delivered to customers, but it’s a struggle to find the right agency in India. What I liked about Justwords’ approach is that they didn’t talk to us in terms of budget, like many other agencies. We had a matter-of-fact discussion about goals.

We’re a startup, and their commercial model suited us. We couldn’t afford to have a high retainer with an agency that would be delivering things in the next six months. They had a pay-as-you-grow model. They put up a graph with what our brand needed at the current time, such as 10 blogs in a month. Following that, when we decided to grow across India or across the world, we’d need possibly 20 blogs per month. That was a great approach, and it was a big factor in choosing them.

Additionally, we liked the transparency in their processes. They would first come to us for approval on every blog or content piece they were writing, and they never operated on hidden fees.

When choosing a new agency, what matters isn’t how much we like the people coming to meet us for the first time. We did a background check on their work, and I called a couple of their customers to get their feedback. Justwords shared that information openly. I found that all the customers in their case studies were in tough businesses, like insurance. That’s not an easy product to sell. I thought it was pretty impressive that Justwords could generate traffic and results for those customers.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve signed a one-year contract with them, with a minimum six-month lock-in. We’re entering the fourth month, and the total value of the one-year contract is almost 15 lakh Indian rupees (21,100 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Justwords in September 2019, and it’s ongoing. We need to continue with them for at least another year. The content marketing game takes time.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

When we started this project, we were expecting to see a 40% improvement in our traffic, and Justwords delivered that in less than three months. For the next three months, we set a target for 80%, and it proved to be a challenge. I wouldn’t just blame Justwords; it also had to do with us as a customer. When starting from zero, getting to a 40% level is an easy jump, but, when we’ve achieved something, to exceed that figure is challenging. Both of us are still struggling to find the right strategy to improve traffic. My feedback to them is that we should have more weekly and monthly reviews, to plan the strategies and align ourselves right.

How did Justwords perform from a project management standpoint?

I wouldn’t say that they’re 100% compliant, because no marketing agency is. If there’s a project that needs to go live on the 15th of the month, there will be some challenges around it, and we’ll have to push them hard to make it happen on the 15th. Their responses are pretty quick, and the founding member of the company is personally attached to every project, which is a good thing. Generally, founders don’t devote that much time to every project. I’d rate them a 7.5/10 in terms of project management.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They definitely stand out from other providers, many of which are just after our budget. They’re specific in choosing the right clients. They won’t hire a big sales team to onboard new clients every day. That’s a good thing because building a business organically is the best way to grow. I like their approach, and it’s what sets them apart from other service providers.

Paid media is a great channel, and everyone wants to spend money on Facebook and Google and get results. Justwords is not a paid media company, and they’re very open about it. They actually state to clients that they’re not a performance-driven company. They’re a content company, and that’s what they deliver. Other service providers will just say that they do everything and connect all the corners. I’m speaking specifically as an Indian client. I know that Justwords works with US clients, but I can’t comment on that.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I wouldn’t recommend having more meetings, because those are always a waste of time, but they should have a more proactive approach to the client’s objectives. Rather than the client having a monthly meeting with the agency to tell them what to do, the agency should come up to the client and tell them that.
