The project is so far on schedule with the Mobile app almost delivered and the web version under development. We need to highlight that the team has been superbly proactive at all levels.

We are constantly and almost daily in touch with the Project Manager who sets up scheduled as well as ad hoc review meetings and coordinates all aspects of the project deliverables.

I can't think about any short coming immediately.

We wanted to create an app for our company. It was a big project and we had a tight budget, so we needed the right partner to help us accomplish it.

What was the scope of their involvement?

iView Labs Pvt Ltd built a native app on both iOS and Android.  We didn’t create wireframes ourselves, though we did have experience launching similar delivery service apps, which was a good base to start from. 

This project ended up being a little more complicated, however, as we had to implement functionalities for clothes tracking and invoicing. At one point, the team had to change the entire architecture of the app.

I had one point of contact, our project manager, though there was a larger team deployed for support that I didn’t interact with.

I posted an RFP on Upwork, and iView Labs Pvt Ltd placed a bid along with a few other companies. Their ability to provide native developers along with their competencies in past projects influenced our decision to partner with them.

Our project cost $5,000.

The project took place from October 2018–October 2019.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

My expectations for the project were high, as we were launching a new public service and I wanted the app to be perfect and quality-tested. Along the way, I tracked a detailed feature list and conducted all of the validation testing. 

The iView Labs Pvt Ltd team handled the basic code testing, checking bugs and errors. They always delivered high-quality work that performed just as expected.

Overall, the project took one year instead of four months, but the team tried to meet my expectations. Anyone else would’ve left the project then and there, so I really appreciated their dedication to my project.

How did iView Labs perform from a project management standpoint?

Our project manager was talented, reasonable, and a good negotiator. 

Though the project was delayed significantly, I understand why and don’t place all the blame on them. There were a few areas where I lacked experience and needed some consultancy, which is where the disconnect occurred. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Out of all the developers I’ve worked with, iView Labs Pvt Ltd stands apart because of their high-quality work. 

When they turn something over to the customer for testing, there aren’t any bugs in the code. That was really wonderful. I’d never seen flawless development until I partnered with iView Labs Pvt Ltd. The functionalities changed during our project, and they responded to that, but all of their developers are very talented.

Also, though we ended up over budget for the project, we still paid less than we would’ve if we’d gone with another provider.

Are there any areas they could improve?

iView Labs Pvt Ltd could improve by expanding their services to include some basic consulting on the business side. If they could’ve guided me along the way, the app might not have changed, and the price and timeline might not have increased.

The final product is nice, but it’s an MVP, not the project I expected. 

I can’t place the blame on them, however, as this was my first time engaging in a project like this and I didn’t know the business etiquette.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

If you have wireframes and a detailed plan mapped in your mind, iView Labs Pvt Ltd’s developers will do a great job.

iView Labs Pvt Ltd. developed our mobile application for iOS and Android. There’s also a web admin side. I gave them the idea and they started working from scratch. They used PHP and MySQL for the backend. They’re working on the Laravel framework. For the mobile side, they’re using Android Studio and XCode.

There were about five people. I interacted with 2–3 of them.

The quality and coding are very good: there are no mistakes and very little bugs. We only had some problems at the beginning with design. I told them the problems, and they solved them for free. They did a very good job after that.

Project management was very good, and so was communication. They solved all our problems and were punctual.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They are very good, and we’d like to work with them in the future.

There’s nothing they could do better.

They did their tasks perfectly. I recommend working with them. I don’t know how they do with complex projects because I didn’t have that experience with them.

They’re also making improvements to our existing mobile app, which is similar to the web app with slightly different functionalities. Their team is preparing a proposal for the iOS version, but we’re working on the Android version first.

The functionalities within the platform are good. The HTML files are superb, and the backend is plugged in well. Everything they’ve done has been great. We’re starting to upload content to the site now, and working on the Android app, so we’re happy with our progress.

How did iView Labs Pvt Ltd. perform from a project management standpoint?

They proactively set up a communication channel between our teams and the previous developer to gather relevant information for development. My phone line is open to them at all times of day or night in case there’s an issue.

I give them full marks for the job they’ve done for me, and that’s not an exaggeration. They come to me when they have a better idea for certain things, whereas other people may not speak up. They also use trackers, but my internal team mostly takes responsibility for that. I receive reports and feedback from the team to make sure everything is being done on time, too. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

This is a new business for me, so I needed someone to hold my hand and make me comfortable with the environment. I was confident enough in iView Labs Pvt Ltd. to pay them even before the product was delivered. 

With other companies, my technical team had to scrutinize every detail to make sure it was right. With iView Labs Pvt Ltd., that isn’t necessary, and I know they’ll do it well. If the job costs $1,000, I can pay them the money immediately and let them work. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

Once we got over communication differences, since we’re from different parts of the world, our conversations became better. iView Labs Pvt Ltd. really came through to support me and worked to improve anything we needed. If my technical partner is satisfied with the work they’re delivering, then so am I.

iView Labs Pvt Ltd. is the best partner for a technology beginner. If you have an idea but it isn’t fleshed out, they will hold your hand and walk you through the journey. They have a standard practice that ensures that they will provide the best service to anyone.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Over the last six months, iView Labs Pvt Ltd. has enabled us to launch several revisions of our application. They continually make improvements and changes based on ongoing customer requirements.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

All of our communication is handled via Skype and Redmine. The project manager is easy to contact. We haven't had any issues with the workflow.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I was impressed with how quickly the developers came into their own with the complex existing codebase. Since several different developers had worked on it over the years, it was quite convoluted.

Are there any areas for improvement?

My only suggestion for improvement would be slightly more timely communication.

We are a technology company providing smart transports and logistics services. We created a platform that links up "riders" to  "drivers" and the provisions of jobs. We are currently running our smart cap services in Ghana, and with just a few clicks on your phones via the Urbride app, you are linked to a driver to take you anywhere you want to go.

We needed a partner who would listen and understand us and our technology needs for bringing this kind of service to Africa. We felt that iView would be the best partner to choose for mobile app and cloud-based development.

What was the scope of their involvement?

iView was involved in the technical aspects of our software development. We have worked together since the beginning in order to build our solution, and they were fully in charge of coding and the configuration of the whole app. We have built Android and iOS versions for our smart car app, as well as a backend for controlling the software and gathering analytics.

They also provided social media marketing services and development for our website. We wanted to make the site more interactive and agreed on a couple of technologies for this purpose.

It all comes down to communication, and they have the right professionals in place who’ve followed through on all our projects. We can reach each other at any time. We use phone, email, and WhatsApp for communication.

They understand clients and the whole tech process. We worked together as a team, trying to achieve a particular vision and plan. We have a social mindset around the app, and iView has understood this desire to do something for the community. We share the same thinking and have a strong partnership.

They understand the role of technology, are up-to-date with it, and they’re ready to pick up challenges. We’ve gone through the development process with their team, and found that they were ready to listen. We all make mistakes, but it’s important to work together as a team.

There are always things which can be done differently, but nothing comes to mind about iView. Even though we have a time difference, I can pretty much reach them at any time.
