What is your role and responsibilities?
I’m not a development firm. I’m a business owner and I’m a consultant. I do Web consulting and in the mobile wireless industry as well as anything related to being online.

I’ve outsourced some of my client work to Intuz. I need extra help with projects when I’m busy or can’t handle certain elements of the project.

What was your process for selecting Intuz with which to work?
Originally, I found them through a colleague who had a Web development company [and] who outsourced some of his work. At the time, he suggested them to me for a client I was working with in Los Angeles.
I did a pre-interview with the man running the company. I decided to test them. I gave them one project and they did an excellent job. It was a project for a church that I was working on. Beside the actual job itself, they were very personable, very timely in delivering the items that I needed delivered, and my clients were really happy with the work that were done. After that, I started sending most of my work to them. Currently, I send about 90 percent of the work that I have to Intuz.
Can you provide a ballpark dollar figure for the size of the work that they’ve done for you?
It runs the gamut from your basic informational site to something complex that requires upward of $10,000 or more.
When was the project completed?
I have been with them since 2008 with no plans to stop. It is ongoing. You never know with changes and all of that, but they have not given me a single reason to stop.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What were the results of the project?
I’m very picky about deliveries and having things done on time, and they’ve always been very good with that. The coding is excellent as well.
Do you have any statistics or metrics to track improvement from the project?
The only metric is keeping my end client satisfied. They have always been successful in this regard.
Is there anything unique about them that really makes them stand out, compared to other companies?
I have dealt with numerous other Web development folks and I’m comfortable with the team at Intuz. They make you feel welcome when you call. The customer support is on target. When you contact them, they get back to you in a timely fashion even for trivial questions. Because you’re their client, they consider your question important and they get back to you pretty much right away. They always have a backup person to take care of your support questions if someone is away. I have good interactions through the years.

I don’t have anything bad to say about the company. They make me look good and that’s appreciated.

I have two companies. One is a hidden dog fence company. It is a normal contractor company with trucks that go to different houses and properties around the surrounding counties, perform work on the properties, and return to the office. We have software needs, sales needs, and all normal contractor business needs. About 12 people work for that company.
I also own Geonet Pages, which is a website design and internet marketing company. That company has four employees. It’s a smaller entity. That’s the company I’ve used Intuz for more, but anything software or website-wise that my hidden fence company needs, they do as well.
What is your role and responsibilities?
I am the owner of both firms.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What was your goal for working with Intuz?
It is widely varied, I have used them for five years. Any digital need whatsoever, they’re able to manage. Even though I have full-time people here, a webmaster in my own office, they provide higher end and more difficult jobs since they don’t have a top end limit to their work. Anything that I bring them, they can replicate. I can show them another website, anywhere, any type, and they can show me something pretty parallel.
Everything I’ve ever gone to them with and said, I have a customer who wants X, they’ve either been able to show me a working mockup or model, or something they’ve already done like it in service. They make it very easy.
Also, they’re good with timing, with costs, and [they're] fair. When there are problems and, frankly, there are always problems. They act like my partner rather than my contractor, and never try to upcharge me. They go out of their way not to upcharge me when there are problems, even if they are my own fault.

What was your process for selecting Intuz with which to work?
Oddly enough, about five years ago, I had a need for massive volume. My manufacturer is Pet Stop, they have about 200 dealers just like me around the country. I had the need to expand quickly and manage a lot of websites. At one point, I was managing almost 100 websites for Pet Stop. In order to do that, I inquired with 15 different companies in India. I placed orders, including spending up to $1,000 with maybe eight to 10 different firms to test.
I paid attention to who was responsive, I paid attention to who did better work. In the end, the only company that I ended up sticking with is Intuz. They have earned my business in the first place, and repeat business since then. They absolutely understand how you earn repeat business. It is not about making money on one job.
Can you provide a ballpark dollar figure for the size of the work that they’ve done for you?
After about four months of working with them, I’ve gone on monthly billing. I just assign work with open-ended billing. They are very fair with that. I have one software project that is costing about $75,000.

Is there anything unique about them that really makes them stand out, compared to other companies?
The software program called Fast, which is in use by about 15 different companies now in the country is unique. It’s a wonderful program. It is extremely detailed, extremely specific, and just very extensive, but it works flawlessly for all of us. It’s wonderful.
Also, they’re good with timing, with costs, and fair. When there are problems, and frankly there are always problems, they act like my partner rather than my contractor, and never try to upcharge me. They go out of their way not to upcharge me when there are problems, even if they are my own fault.
Looking back on the work so far, is there any area that you think they could improve upon or something that you might do differently?
The language barrier is simply always part of the game. They do understand English and we work fine, but different members of the staff that you go through, you’ll have some issues. I understand that to be 50 percent my fault, but these are good people. When there is the occasional lack of clarity, it gets resolved quickly.

Mattermost is now operational and working well. The installation required the fixing of an important mattermost bug that caused serious problems. Intuz found and fixed the problem.
