The team displayed strong technical ability and a willingness to explore and learn along the way to ensure the latest learnings were implemented. The most critical part of any project's success is clarity of communication, and they did an absolutely great job of that both when things were on track and in a one-off scenario where we were slipping. Their proactiveness really made this successful.

I could think of nothing off the top of my head, but just that a bit more help in coming up with test scenarios would have helped, though that was never mentioned as part of the project scope.

We’ve seen success through the visual designs and demos. Indexnine Technologies has delivered new designs, incorporated our feedback, and provided a working demo of the app.
How did Indexnine Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?
We had regular communication with check-ins and progress updates. We collaborated almost every day. We communicated in person and through virtual meetings. The team was very accommodating and worked as a partner invested in our success rather than a vendor delivering an agreed project.
Timelines exceeded the original three-month agreement, but it’s natural for the scope to evolve. We did the right thing by giving breathing space. The team handled the usual feature scope creep and timelines very well.

For coverage, we measure the ratio of written test cases to acceptance criteria across features, along with gaps identified post-deployment. We also monitor ticket turnaround time and bug reopen rates as indicators of QA effectiveness. While the data isn’t always perfect, it provides a directional view of progress.
What did you find most impressive about them?
One thing that stands out is the passion and dedication of several of their QA engineers. When you get the right people on a task, they’re deeply invested — thorough in their testing, quick to engage in discussions, and eager to improve processes. That level of ownership, especially in an offshore context, isn’t always easy to find. While not every engagement has been perfect, there’s a strong core of talent that genuinely cares about quality and contributes meaningfully to our delivery goals.
Are there any areas they could improve?
One of the main challenges has been consistency across the team. While some individual contributors have been excellent — proactive, detail-oriented, and highly dependable — others have needed more coaching and oversight to meet expectations. We’ve also had to invest time in aligning on communication norms, documentation standards, and QA ownership. Because the team is offshore, time zone overlap and asynchronous feedback loops sometimes slow down iteration. That said, when expectations are clearly set and followed up on, we’ve seen strong engagement and a willingness to improve.
What advice do you have for clients with similar needs to yours?
Set clear expectations and invest time in aligning on communication and documentation standards. Consider implementing structured processes to promote consistency and accountability within the team.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We’ve launched a fully functional software product that customers are using. Customers have found the app to be self-explanatory and user-friendly. They appreciate the data reporting and the ability to make operational changes. Customers now have data insights on indoor environmental quality and can report to management about the quality of the indoor environment.
Our main challenges have been product design and scoping, which involves taking concepts to full production; specific platform requirements for the mobile app, where the team was able to add capabilities to meet requirements; and our budget, where they've been client-oriented to help support our needs, given budget constraints.

We’ve appreciated working with Indexnine Technologies. They have internal project managers, project management training, and executive oversight. Their focus on project management and delivery ensures that our products are delivered on time and that new features are rolled out accordingly.
