Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.
We worked with the team at iBeta to "load test" the new racing.nyrabets.com marketing site and its related APIs in advance of the site's launch in March 2023. One month later, in advance of heavy traffic periods anticipated with horse racing's annual Triple Crown events (Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes, Belmont Stakes), we scheduled a second load test with iBeta's help, increasing the amount of concurrent user traffic almost three-fold. Both tests went smoothly and proved the new site was robust and capable of heavy traffic spikes over short time frames.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We were able to show our client that the new integrated marketing and wagering site that we designed and implemented could handle the load of tens of thousands of customers visiting the site -- and making associated API calls -- to access handicapping information and place wagers while major horse racing events are taking places.
It provided our client with the comfort level and confidence they needed as they introduced a new-and-improved NYRA Bets digital experience to their customers.
Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?
Our project was straightforward with IP addresses to be used in the load testing shared at the time we scheduled the test and a follow-up reporting showing site/API performance during the load tests, which took approximately 30 minutes each time. iBeta was timely in its communications and documentation pre- and post-test.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Their team is knowledgeable, responsive, and we found the work they performed to be an excellent value for the price quoted to us.
Are there any areas for improvement or something iBeta Quality Assurance could have done differently?

iBeta Quality Assurance provides QA for a printer manufacturer as it prepares a new product for launch. They work with a .NET server, and .NET, iOS, and Android applications.
The new product will launch at a future date, but iBeta Quality Assurance is quick to catch issues and is very clear in daily reporting. They have a large library of devices, are easy to reach, and always respond promptly.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited
transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
Our organization makes industrial printers that print supply labels and directly on products before they ship. I'm a software engineer and am in charge of the software that configures and runs our printers.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with iBeta Quality Assurance?
We hired iBeta for quality assurance for a new product that is about to launch.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Their testing is primarily on the software. Our suite includes a client server application, which they're testing. Some of our printers aren't very easy to set up and configure, but they have remote access to check connectivity.
We have a .NET application and server infrastructure, and Android and iOS applications that they're testing. They have a huge, impressive library of devices.
How did you come to work with iBeta Quality Assurance?
We weren't happy with another vendor we were working with at the time, so I suggested iBeta. I worked for them about 15 years ago, so I was aware of them. My team did our due diligence, and we started working with them.
How much have you invested with them?
To date, we've spent about $20,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in April 2019, and the work is ongoing as we prepare for launch.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We track the issues, and we rarely encounter something they didn't notice before us. Most of the things we catch are hardware related.
How did iBeta Quality Assurance perform from a project management standpoint?
I get daily reports for them that go over new issues and what they've completed. Tickets come in daily, and they're very open about their plans, concerns, and highlighted issues. We always know how much time is left for the tasks at hand, and the reports are very clear and easy to read. We use Jira to track everything related to their work.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They're really easy to work with. If I have a problem or need to talk to someone, I can reach out. It's easy to reach them by phone or through Slack. They're very responsive, and they're always willing to meet with us to clarify the process or ask questions.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I'm really happy with them. The only thing I could hope for is a lower price, but I understand that costs for a domestic company will be higher than an offshore resource.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Have clear definitions of the scope and your goals. Give them your ideas, and spend time with them early on to teach them how your application works.
