What challenge were you trying to address with HyperTrends Global Inc.?

We wanted to dive into how the software is going to function in order to accomplish our task. We wanted to work with HyperTrends on developing a strategic plan and develop the overarching way of successfully implementing our software from the ground up.

What was the scope of their involvement?

When we came to HyperTrends, we had an idea and a potential solution, and what Anup (CEO) and HyperTrends were able to do for us was basically bring that idea to life.  

We started in the discovery process. We had lots of meetings, going into the business model, logistics, and the legal aspect of doing this. They formulated a plan in which we can successfully develop and then execute this software. 

Essentially, the software functions as an intermediary between an individual and their online accounts, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Netflix, Spotify, and others. It is a place for them to store their information, passwords, identities, and then after we have gotten confirmation that they have passed away, we execute on their instructions. All of the information that they have input into our platform and our software, we then use in order to execute what they wanted for their online legacy.

It is a web app that we are developing, and it is completely cloud-based. There is no locally stored information. It is all secure and encrypted.

What is the team composition?

Anup was our primary point of contact. All of his team reported to him, and then he reported to us. Based on what Anup and I always spoke about, there had to have been at least four or five different architects and developers working on the project.

How did you come to work with HyperTrends Global Inc.?

We were scouting for a developer that had experience in not only web applications, but also cybersecurity and encryption. We chose Anup and HyperTrends for that very reason. I spoke with five different development companies in the San Diego area. They all were adequate, but none of them had the background and the kind of industry knowledge that Anup brought to the table. 

How much have you invested in them?

We spent between $5,000–$10,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We first contacted them in April 2020, but our professional relationship didn’t come to fruition until mid-May. As of right now, the bulk of our initial discovery process is completed. Right now, we are kind of in limbo waiting for some funding to come in. I believe there is still much more to do. However, the initial reason for partnering with HyperTrends was completed in mid-September 2020.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We recently were able to get a patent for our product. Anup was helpful in providing all of the right documentation for us. That validated the success of the project for me.

How did HyperTrends Global Inc. perform from a project management standpoint?

They gave us access to Confluence where they showed their progress and what they were working on. We were able to log in whenever we wanted and see what sprints they were working on. 

They always did what they said they would do. Having access 24/7 to what they were working on was absolutely fantastic.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The passion that they have is impressive. Anup really believed in what we were doing and was willing to go out of his way at any time of the day to help us. He was available at all times. I think that his passion flowed into the deliverables that we received from them.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I couldn’t imagine a better relationship. Everything has been absolutely wonderful.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

When you meet with a development company, look for a sense of passion. With a lot of the other development firms that we interviewed, none of them displayed the same passion and willingness to succeed, and the determination that HyperTrends did right off the bat.

I’m the CEO of two companies, one of which is an e-learning platform startup. The first business is a division of the second. Our company is a patented behavior change technology that delivers content and nudge messaging in real-time. The messaging is delivered around scheduled events in an enterprise leader’s schedule.

What challenge were you trying to address with HyperTrends Global?

I brought them on to build our behavior change learning management platform. Initially we had retained another firm to do the development, but things started falling apart. So, we brought on HyperTrends Global to do some consulting on the project. Eventually, we pulled the project from the first firm and gave it to HyperTrends Global.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They repaired and redeveloped the initial platform. Then, they completely rebuilt a different platform. Both are web-based solutions that are available on iOS and Android. They’ve been responsible for the design and development of the solutions. 

Technologies used include a React Native JavaScript framework for Android and iOS. For the backend APIs, they used the microservices technology Laravel PHP. They also used Microsoft Azure web services for scalable deployments on Lenox environments.

My main point of content was Anup (CEO).

How did you come to work with HyperTrends Global?

They were recommended by an entrepreneur organization.

What is the status of this engagement?

They began working with us in December of 2019, and the project is ongoing. They worked on version one over the last six months and they’re now working on version two.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

I’m pleased with the overall functionality and reliability of the solution so far. It has launched in stealth and in pilot, and everybody is very happy with it.

I’m exceedingly happy with them. I find them to be phenomenal strategists, and incredibly timely. They have a great deal of foresight to see into the future, ensuring the technology is globally scalable. 

How did HyperTrends Global perform from a project management standpoint?

They performed exceedingly well. They do everything they say they’re going to do when they say they’re going to do it. The technology team has their own ticketing process, and I have meetings twice a week with them. We use Jira as well.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their strong strategy and ability to manage all stakeholders stands out. Also, their emphasis on the scalability and stability of architecture is impressive. Also, their timeliness and dedication to accuracy.

No, I am 100% satisfied.

Potential customers should allow them the latitude to do what’s best for the client and engage in a trusting relationship where they can do their job unimpeded.

HyperTrends Global Inc. worked on our Shopify store and WordPress site.

What was the scope of their involvement?

The first phase of the project involved redesigning our database platform. The database platform takes a user’s entry and creates a profile page for them. They maintain that using AWS.  From there, we had them redesign our WordPress site, which included design, development, and launch. After finishing that, their team did a complete redesign of our Shopify store.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The return on our ad spend has gone from 3-to-1 to 5-to-1. Unfortunately, gross sales are off right now because of everything going on in the economy. We’re getting way more positive reviews.

For the WordPress site, their team fixed all of the bugs and made sure everything was running efficiently. Our customer service has dropped off by 25%, with people having fewer problems due to the functionality of the older site.

How did HyperTrends Global Inc. perform from a project management standpoint?

As a web development company, HyperTrends Global Inc. delivers some of the best customer service. From a project management standpoint, they were excellent.

Their response time was usually within hours of me sending them an email or a phone call. They even responded to me on the weekends. They’ve delivered on time and within budget. Their communication was very efficient. We mainly use video conferencing and email.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Anup is based in the US, and he is efficient. I’ve worked with other firms based overseas, and their response time was sometimes longer than what I would’ve liked. Anup replies immediately.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Not that I have seen. My experience has been great.

We wanted to better understand our key metrics and be proactive rather than reactive. We needed to advance our escrow process with technological automation.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

HyperTrends Global Inc. helped build a platform in Power BI. They built the product with a tracking feature to provide key performance indicators, giving us an overall understanding of what’ve done, what we’re doing, and where we’re headed. The team also integrated reporting capabilities, which can display data in graphs and simple metrics.

They also helped us to consider potential technological developments. The team performed initial research and development into an app that would further streamline our escrow process internally and clients through automation.

We’ve grown about 20% this year. Part of this is attributable to the industry, but also our ability to be proactive based on the platform HyperTrends Global Inc. built. The team created a product that has enabled us to focus on the right numbers. Any time I have a technology need, Anup and his team will handle it for us.

The team provided great service— just fantastic. They had great communication skills, following up to stay on top of the project.

What did you find most impressive about them?

HyperTrends Global Inc was honest, trustworthy, and simple. The team kept their word; what they said was what they did. Where conversations can become very complicated and convoluted, their team kept things understandable, which I appreciated the most.

I'm CEO and founder of TicketSocket, a white label ticketing framework. We work with a number of enterprise clients to put control back into the hands of event organizers, as opposed to them using a third-party system.

What challenge were you trying to address with HyperTrends Global Inc.?

We had previously developed the first version of our software. We needed to build an enterprise version with a Representational State Transfer (REST) API.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

HyperTrends Global Inc. worked with us for several years. They helped us build a new version of our previous platform. Clients leverage our platform to take registrations and ticket sales. It allows them to collect the money directly and control the data and services themselves.

We had our own internal UI developers but HyperTrends Global Inc. handled the whole backend. They led development and set up of the server, infrastructure, and database. They did all of the REST API development, including documentation and scoping. They worked in the .NET Framework on the backend, as well as MongoDB and SQL for our database structures. They also managed many of the API team members for both fixing bugs as well as feature development.

What is the team composition?

We worked with 5–6 developers. Anup (CEO, HyperTrends Global Inc.) served as our main project manager.

How did you come to work with HyperTrends Global Inc.?

We were introduced by a mutual investor. We interviewed several other companies before choosing them.

We worked together from November 2014–August 2018, at which point they handed the project off to our internal team.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They rebuilt the entire platform so it is much more scalable. They added new features such as the ability to reserve seating and do season ticket sales. Those features allow us to bring on board new businesses that we were never able to serve before. It also allows us to offer a developer-centric platform. Now companies can build off our API, which is very helpful. Their code was quite good. There were some parts that needed a little bit of refactoring, but overall it was very clean and well documented.

How did HyperTrends Global Inc. perform from a project management standpoint?

They managed the project directly, and interfaced with our UI team to connect the API. Anup and his senior developer were our key contacts. We worked in an agile three-week sprint process. We met with them frequently in person, as well as using Jira and Slack. They also had a special bug response team to fix any problems.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They were always very creative in adding new features. Given the scope of the project, it was helpful that someone else besides us had a strong vision.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We made the mistake of letting them talk directly to our clients. The clients would complain about some software feature that they wanted but we didn't think had any business value. As a result of the complaints, HyperTrends Global Inc. would sometimes work on those features above other projects.

Make sure you have a very detailed scope of your project.

What challenge were you trying to address with HyperTrends Global Inc?

We partnered with them on several projects. We initially hired them to help develop complex web apps and sites that were beyond our internal capabilities.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Each project we worked on had a different scope. A few of them were phone applications and one was web-based. They helped us with functionality, including enabling video downloads, membership options, and subscriptions. We handled all the UI/UX designs on our side and they helped us with development and technical and functional specifications. Most of our mobile projects were native apps for both iOS and Android.

The projects we worked on included a scrapbooking web and mobile app with a custom interface. It allowed users to upload content and monitored users’ geolocations. We also designed an interface for pro surfers to upload videos and offer services. It operated as a hub for all things surf related. They handled all the backend development to allow for video ranking and other functionality.

All our clients were happy with what we delivered. We had a great experience with HyperTrends. They met our guidelines and fixed glitches or bugs almost instantly.

We had a bug tracking system and used Basecamp to collaborate. We had good ongoing communication and weekly status meetings. They were always available and we occasionally met in person.

What was the scope of their involvement?

HyperTrends initially spent a lot of time with us, attending various meetings to learn about our industry and some of the challenges we were trying to address. As a result, they met with many different vendors we were working with. After acquiring a certain amount of knowledge, they then started developing the platform for both web and mobile (iOS and Android).

The app digitized many of the forms truck drivers need to fill out before and after a shift. One of its key features involved a process that made periodic drug testing of truck drivers more efficient, allowing drivers to submit all relevant paperwork and information through the app and take a drug test at their company's office instead of in a lab. They also built in translations into Spanish and components that were compliant with the Mexican government's driving regulations.
