What was the scope of their involvement?

Harbinger Communications develops a holistic PR plan to drive our business in Canada. We give them an annual budget, and they come back to us with a thorough, detailed plan on how to drive awareness and trial of our key brands. This includes sampling among professionals, a broadcast media tour, targeted partnerships, etc.When we align on an annual plan, we agree to specific success measures (impressions, etc.).
Each week, Harbinger Communications sends a program update in terms of where we are vs. the plan. At the end of the year, they provide an annual summary of how the program performed vs. the original plan. During the year, they take the lead on creative development for any assets we need as well as event management if our plan includes an event.

We work with 2–5 teammates from Harbinger Communications.

How did you come to work with Harbinger Communications?

Harbinger Communications was our agency when I joined the company. When we started eleeo brands, Harbinger Communications was the agency we used at my old company (that we spun eleeo brands out of). They knew our business well and had historically done a good job, so we wanted to keep working with them.

We started working together in January 2020, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our business in Canada has grown steadily year over year. At the same time, Harbinger Communications has become more efficient in how they spend our dollars. They have learned our business well and even cut our annual strategic planning fees because they are so integrated into our business and know our needs. Those extra dollars have been reinvested into actual working dollars.

How did Harbinger Communications perform from a project management standpoint?

Harbinger Communications excels at communication. They are extremely thorough in their weekly updates, including highlighting outstanding items from us, timelines, etc. They consistently deliver on time and give me ample time for reviews.

At the beginning, it took a while to get the right team in place. However, over the past three years, we’ve had a super strong, consistent team that really knows us and our business.

Harbinger took care of everything from PR strategy to execution. For our media outreach campaigns, they targeted all channels, including social media, radio, TV, and magazines. Their team also did some speeches and helped us with case studies.

What is the team composition?

I mainly dealt with Erin (SVP), but my junior teammates were in contact with 4–5 account managers.

How did you come to work with Harbinger Communications?

Harbinger was already working with Conagra before I joined the company.
