We create specialty consumer electronics. In my role, I run all direct-to-consumer and e-commerce initiatives, leading the strategy behind 80% of our sales.

What challenge were you trying to address with GimmeGamma?

We wanted to improve our SEO on a few levels, the first being a bigger, better presence in search engine results. The second was to clean up some of our backend technical issues from an SEO standpoint. Because we’re such a small staff, we decided to outsource the work to a third party.

What was the scope of their involvement? 

In a nutshell, GimmeGamma is driving our content strategy to boost our SEO results. They focus on generating content that targets theme topics and keywords related to our business. Then, they look for reputable publishers to host the content so that we can get backlinks to our site. This creates a strong triumvirate formula to boost our overall search engine presence.

It’s a hand-off approach where they come up with topics and write the initial articles before handing them to me to proofread. They’re not experts on my product, nor do I expect them to be, so I make sure that the content fits our niche. Afterward, their team will implement the edits and post the piece.

Outside of that, their team works to clean up our backend for technical errors that might impede our SEO. It’s a lot of busywork, but they’re great at identifying and fixing those issues.

What is the team composition? 

There have been at least 5–6 people that I’ve touched base with, but I mostly work with one main point of contact. I meet with her on a regular basis, and she divvies the tasks to her content writers, researchers, and technical SEO specialists.

How did you come to work with GimmeGamma?

I get around 25–30 unsolicited messages a week from third parties that are trying to sell me something. Somehow, GimmeGamma’s LinkedIn message stood out to me. It was simple and sweet, and it hit at the perfect time.

Once we set up a call, I was impressed with their incredibly detailed approach to SEO. Their presentation was so well prepared — just a high level of research and strategic ideas for our company. They did so much legwork just to pitch their services to us. 

How much have you invested with them?

It’s a couple of thousands of dollars a month.

What is the status of this engagement?

We just started working with them in July 2020, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

It’s too premature to report on any metrics. We’ve just started publishing articles, so the backlinks haven’t come in yet. They’re currently in the process of ensuring that the publishers follow through with their commitments to host our content. It’ll be another 3–4 months before we start to see any measurable differences in our SEO ranking.

How did GimmeGamma perform from a project management standpoint?

The amount of detail I get is excellent. They provide an extensive weekly report that documents all of their efforts, including what they’re doing and the progress we’re seeing. I can confirm how much work they put into our project because I proofread alongside them. If they were in charge of everything, I’m confident that they would deliver an accurate report of everything.

Outside of the email, I meet with my contact once a week, which also helps keep me in the loop. We use Zoom to communicate during those check-ins.

What did you find most impressive about them?

One of the reasons I hired them was because they focus solely on SEO. This allows them to really dive deeper into the research and analysis involved in SEO. They have a “roll-up your sleeves and get dirty” approach that a standard digital agency would lack.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Because their writers are based in India, I do have to proofread the content to make sure that it matches our local communication style and messaging. That’s not a huge negative considering the cost benefits we get, but, in a perfect world, it would be helpful if they did some proofreading on their side, too.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

They’re great at guiding you through the strategy planning phase that there isn’t much that you need to do yourself. The expectations are clear, so you know what you’re getting into. Having said that, it is important that you understand what you’re trying to achieve and how you’re going to measure that. That way, you can come to an agreement with GimmeGamma when you formulate the strategy.

Pexip provides seamless collaboration between previously incompatible video and audio technologies such as professional video conferencing systems, Skype for Business, Microsoft Teams, Google Hangouts Meet, and WebRTC.

We needed a self-driven and experienced content production agency, with extensive knowledge on SEO optimization, to help us turn around engaging high-quality content, fast.

How did you select GimmeGamma and what were the deciding factors?

GimmeGamma was specific and concrete in their first meeting following our initial request/scope. Where other vendors showed us generic and theoretical company presentations and possible plans (we are all marketers, and are familiar with our options and opportunities).

GimmeGamme had already completed a full company "SEO health check", recommendations for improvements, identified content gaps, and compiled a content production plan featuring 21 topics.

They also had transparent and flexible pricing based on output and not on hours spent. This gave us the confidence and reassurance that the process would be smooth and swift, also promising predictable pricing.

Thrilled with the planning, execution, and final output. GimmeGamma representatives are fast and easy to work with. Because they are honest and say it like it is, they always provide great suggestions for improvements and ensure the best possible outcomes.

Incredibly easy to work with. Turn around times like no other agency I´ve worked with previously, and there were fewer edits required as they ensure top quality before they send it over for you to review - a dream for a busy director with hundreds of "hats" to wear through the workweek.

Dedication, preparation, and ability to push projects over the finish line. Other vendors put the ball back in your court and wait for things to move forward.

But GimmeGamme take full leadership and reach out to me, reminding me of outstanding approvals or actions for us to move the projects forward.
