Fyresite redesigned our storefront from scratch. They built custom product pages for digital items, added a subscription feature for compliance updates, integrated Stripe for payments, and built a dashboard where our team could manage licenses and send auto-updates to buyers. It was full-service.

Since launching the new shop, customers have said it’s easier to find what they need. Our support tickets went down, and we’ve had more people complete their purchases without needing help. Internally, our marketing team was also able to launch bundles faster with Fyresite’s custom CMS.

They used a shared dashboard to track progress, and every Friday we had short sync meetings. Deadlines were met, and changes were handled fast. Once, we asked to redo a checkout step at the last minute, and they turned it around in two days. We never had to chase them for updates.

If we had to pick one thing, it would be clearer hand-off training. We got documentation, but a live walkthrough would’ve helped our non-tech team a bit more. That said, when we reached out, they were happy to hop on a call and walk us through things step by step. Very supportive.

Fyresite’s team came into the engagement with a clear willingness to understand what made this project different from typical e-commerce builds. They never tried to fit us into a pre-designed solution. Instead, they began by sitting with us virtually and often to dissect what we were trying to accomplish. They worked across multiple departments, from our marketing and content leads to engineering and legal, since the platform had to comply with strict security protocols and data sensitivity rules.

The development work itself was layered. First, they built a custom backend that could support multiple levels of user access and authentication, which was crucial given that different user types founders, advisors, enterprise partners would need varying degrees of visibility into content and tools. They then designed a frontend that matched our visual identity with precision, integrating subtle animations, intuitive navigation, and personalized dashboards.

One of the most appreciated elements was their ability to integrate seamlessly with existing systems tools like Notion, internal data libraries, and even gated video content. They also helped us map out a system for future integration with third-party software used by our portfolio companies. Their final deliverables weren’t just functional they were polished, forward-thinking, and structurally sound.

From a results standpoint, what stood out wasn’t some spike in metrics, but rather the quality of engagement we saw after launch. Founders who accessed the portal described it as elegant and surprisingly useful. Our team began using it more actively in onboarding sessions with new portfolio companies. Internally, the project unlocked a new conversation about how we could digitize more of the firm’s intellectual infrastructure, and Fyresite had a direct role in making that vision concrete.

Their project management style deserves particular credit. They were methodical but flexible keeping us on schedule even when some internal deliverables from our side lagged behind. Whenever we had new ideas or requests mid-sprint, they didn’t push back reflexively. Instead, they evaluated whether the changes made sense from both a user and technical perspective, and offered honest, respectful feedback. Their communication was clear, measured, and always proactive. We never had to chase them for updates.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

What stood out most was their ability to walk the line between engineering discipline and creative collaboration. They knew when to take the lead and when to let us explore. During one of the UX walkthroughs, for instance, they caught an inconsistency in how some tools were categorized something we had overlooked. Rather than just flag it, they proposed a new taxonomy that made everything simpler for the user. That kind of thinking isn’t in the brief it’s just the sign of a team that genuinely cares.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Fyresite could have done differently?

If we were to suggest anything for improvement, it would be to have more structured workshops in the early phase. While our discovery conversations were productive, we realized late in the process that a few deeper design sprints might have helped align some stakeholders earlier on. That said, when we did hit points of confusion or misalignment, Fyresite never hesitated to course-correct with humility and clarity.

They also prioritized accessibility and responsiveness, knowing our client base includes various government and nonprofit agencies with specific compliance needs. Fyresite took the time to prototype everything from the navigation flow to the logic behind service requests and ensured compatibility with our infrastructure hosted across several secure environments.

That balance of creative design and technical rigor is hard to find in one place, but they brought it every step of the way.

As for areas of improvement, I’d say there were minor moments early on when we had to clarify how some of our legacy systems would interact with the new platform. Once that alignment was made, though, everything moved forward very smoothly. It might have helped if we’d had a technical onboarding session earlier, but that’s as much on us as it is on them.
