Set up a development environment by duplicating the current child sponsorship website and staging a production version at the sub-domain level of the main website. Deindex from search engines, remove tracking tags and control access via a username and password system. Utilize the BBMS account “TEST- DOES NOT CHARGE” to handle test payments.
Integrate Blackbaud Checkout into the Sponsor a Child website. The BB Checkout form will replace the “Credit Card Payment” and “Personal Details” steps of the current checkout process. Change the design of the BB Checkout User Interface (UI), where possible, to match the current UI. Implement payment options for Credit Card and Direct Debit. Generate a GUID (token) to store the payment details.
Implement the Blackbaud Checkout payment authorization process so that it captures the authorization code for successfully authenticated payment details and handles error messaging for authorizations that return an error. Send authorization code and amount to the backend application for payment processing. Also send details about the child/children sponsored.
Request the transaction information using the GET Checkout transaction endpoint. Send the returned data to Google Tag Manger’s DataLayer for use by our various tracking tags.
Send authorization details (authorization code and amount) to BBMS for payment processing. An Account Token and Transaction ID will be returned. These should be stored for future use.
Use the Constituent (Search) endpoint to check if the new child sponsor matches with an existing constituent record. If so, save the returned Constituent ID for the creation of the recurring gift. An alternative option is to use the Constituent (Duplicate Search) endpoint to get a match “rank” when there are multiple matches.
If not, create a new constituent record using the Constituent (Create) endpoint. Use the returned Constituent ID to create a recurring gift.
Create a recurring gift using the transaction information including additional data such as sponsor child/children data and tracking data. See Example Gift (Create) Request Body in the appendix for more details. Send the new gift to RE NXT via the Gifts (Create) endpoint.
Build the pages and UI elements to allow staff to manage data clean up, constituent match and recurring gift creation for each new sponsor record.

We needed a branding and web design partner for our TV show.

What was the scope of their involvement?
FJ Solutions designed our logo and built our website. We shared a brief with Diego, telling him what we needed, and he came back to us with a few ideas. We picked one of his ideas and customized it to our needs at that time. They also designed the evolution of our logo throughout the show. For the website, they understood the architecture we wanted to implement.
What is the team composition?
We mainly worked with Diego, who took care of the project.
How did you come to work with FJ Solutions?
There weren’t many companies at that time, and I had very good references for FJ Solutions. My worry was that I would hire a company and would have to wait 30 days for a meeting and then another 30 days for a follow-up, but none of that happened with FJ Solutions. I hired them because I saw their work and immediately thought I had to do something with them.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent around $10,000 at the beginning and then had a monthly payment.
What is the status of this engagement?
We worked together from November 2016–October 2019.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
FJ Solutions helped us reach people immediately. For example, the first show aired on a Tuesday night, and that same night, we had a very good response from the public through our website. There are many hours of the TV show where it's visible the work they did with the design and how it improved over time. The evolution of the logo was very nice.
Overall, everything they did for us was very successful. They understood what we were looking for in one meeting, and we were pleasantly surprised when they brought all the ideas back.
How did FJ Solutions perform from a project management standpoint?
Once we set the way we were going to work, they were very efficient. Once we found the right track, they didn’t move out of there. They always proposed useful things and knew what we were looking for at that time. Since the project was being sponsored by the government, we kept every email on file, and FJ Solutions was responsible for that. It was easy to communicate with them through the ideas they brought me.
Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?
I was very satisfied with Diego and didn't really need anybody else. He worked with his crew, and they came back to us with ideas. Although they worked as a team, he was the person who showed me the results and the solution they found for my website.
What did you find most impressive about them?
We felt very comfortable working with FJ Solutions. They didn’t waste our time on things we didn’t need to know, which was very valuable. I didn't know what technologies they used; we didn’t go into their kitchen, but the food they served was very tasty.

Everything was running so smoothly and successfully that I didn’t want to touch many things. They proposed many changes, but I didn't take many of their proposals because things were already happening in a way that I was happy with.
