We asked Enozom to develop both BE and FE of our application. As we are planning to transform at some point the platform into a marketplace for any parenthood to propose their workshops on the platform and get paid for them, Enozom proposed a dedicated BO.

Project steps: project started in May 2021. Batch 1 ended end of july, batch 2 ended early-september as our first workshops were at the end of september. Then from september to November it was mainly maintenance and improvement. Technologies used were Angular for FE and Dot.net for BE.

I am the CEO and co-founder of the company, my company is a cloud-based financial services company, based in Cairo, Egypt. Targeting the gulf and MENA region.

My goal was to build a website that allows small and medium companies to create their accounts to manage their financial work starting from normal invoices, transactions, and inventory management to statistics and reports.

We searched online and contacted many vendors, and we ended up working with Enozom as we found them very professional in their process, communication and proposal.

We had a requirement gathering phase, during this phase a product owner from Enozom worked with our team to understand the requirements, then we worked with Agile methodology to build up the system through weekly meetings to see the new wireframes, and to demo the developed work. We used JIRA as an Agile tool to for follow-up with the PO and the team.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

After the go-live, we had many subscriptions to our products which exceeded our initial target for this phase.

We were using Jira as a project management tool, and we are having a daily standup, biweekly sprint planning, and sprint demo. The project was delivered in a reasonable time, with no delays. We used Gitlab for code sharing.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They are very clever in converting my ideas into very user-friendly features, and they have a lot of experience in working in financial and accounting websites.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Some minor bugs in the first release, but they were fixed very quickly

I'm the Research and Development manager at add energy. We are a consultancy company offering asset integrity and business performance improvement services to the energy industry. My role involves managing our software product portfolio as well as developing and executing a strategy to grow our software part of the business.

We initially hired enozom to develop our ePAV app and after their great work on this project, we hired them again to develop our Asset Voice app in partnership with our internal software development team. Our goal was to respond to client challenges around data collection and asset change management and to build two web and mobile apps that addressed these issues namely Asset Voice and ePAV. We were looking for easy to use, scalable and configurable products to target customers within the energy industry as well as expanding into new industries as well.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We selected this vendor via feedback from one of our software development team members who had experience working with enozom in the past, as well as online reviews from a variety of companies.

The scope of work included creating two web and mobile apps. We followed an agile process utilising two week sprints to define, estimate and prioritise scope and have regular demo sessions, allowing the product to be developed at speed with iterative improvements. Enozom always ensured that sketches of what the app looked like were approved before writing a line of code, ensuring that our expectations were managed in terms of what was to be delivered. The app was then tested by a dedicated testing team on enozoms side and then our internal team and customers before going into a production environment. The web apps consisted of a PostgreSQL database and .net backend and Angular frontend. The mobile apps were Android written in Kotlin.

We received excellent feedback from our internal team and multiple customers in terms of the ease of use of the software due to the intuitive user interface. This resulted in multiple sales of the app shortly after the product was launched.

Hazem from Enozom had a weekly meeting with us, and always raised issues as soon as they occurred. Any delays and reasons were clearly communicated beforehand. Hazem provided great solutions where we faced challenges on the project, and was a great advisor to help us get the best out of the product while getting great value from his team.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They really care about their customers and about excellence in software development. They've always gone the extra mile when deadlines have been tight. They were also friendly and very easy to work with. Their experience across multiple companies and industries means they have solved most challenges before and this was clear when they advised us.

The most representative characteristics we found in Enozom which come in sync with what we are looking for in the near sourcing vendor were the following : Transparency, Practicability, Team Stability.

• Transparency. Enozom has a very transparent contractual model , they only accept the projects they can deliver and they are very honest in demonstrating their capacity and capabilities without overselling.
• Practicability- Enozom rely on on-site full-time staff which we find a perfect way to ensure the minimum dedication and focus we need in our projects. Our experience proves that relying on remote and flexible teams need very mature members which is something we couldn’t guarantee all the time.
• Team stability: Enozom has a very low turnover rate and high employee tenure which helps us to keep a steady pace in our projects using Enozom dedicated resources.

one product is a SaaS platform that enable islamic educators to run their virtual learning environment and the other product is a kindergarten management solution. the Enozom UX team has also involved in the UX audit and building the UX guidelines for our kindergarten management solution. they have also designed the UX of the subscription management components of the SaaS platform enabling the building of Islamic learning portals.

We had been able to shorten the time to launch without increasing the team capacity. time to start a new project has been improved dramatically from several weeks to few days.

we have been more inclined toward the Kanban model where features , enhancements and issues are reported , analyzed in Jira and then handled in first in first out basis. we were using Jira and Figma for collaboration and zoom for meetings.

Responsiveness, The project manager was available 24/7 to respond to any issues arises, they were taking our inquiries or even the rough ideas came on the top of my mind very seriously and immediately report these issue in Jira and assign them to the team members.

I have no major concern on Enozom business model and deliverable quality. if there is an area of improvement to mention, I think they can did better if they can share the timesheet of the team members with the customer to enhance the visibility and the productivity management.

I am a technology consultant and I help founders build their technology products by conducting requirements gathering workshops and leading UI/UX design sessions and supervising the development process all the way to launching.

We wanted to build smart and easy-to-use mobile apps to allow customers to book tourist facilities like vacation houses, this required building a backend system to do property listing, and providing easy ways to search and book them.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I came into ENozom from a previous potential engagement and I invited them to propose for this project. The proposal was very solid and reflected attention to detail and care for providing a complete solution for the client. We wanted a cost-effective, yet a very professional team and we found that with ENozom.

We did a session to explain the scope in details to allow ENozom to propose. We already had our product backlog and UI/UX design already prepared, so we kind of knew what we wanted.. However, ENozom team was always able to add insightful comments and improvements and identify some gaps in requirements and design, which reflects their long experience in building software.

We then received a project schedule and started the project, we had a weekly meeting to go over the plan and progress, since we followed an Agile approach with short sprints. The technologies used to build the apps was native android and iOS code in addition to .NET Core for the backend system.

We had a project manager, a technical lead, a quality engineer, and a group of developers for full stack web, mobile iOS and android.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The application development was completed almost on time, a minor delay was encountered but this is natural with any involved project. ENozom was able to build a customer app (android and ios), farm owner app (android and ios), website, and super admin system. So a collection of applications were successfully build within a period of around 6 months. The quality of deliverables is very high and we only had a few issues related to quality. The team was able to fix most issues really quickly.

The team used a traditional schedule and broke the project deliverables into smaller components and got them scheduled as tasks using MS Project type of schedule. The project manager presented the updated schedule every week and we were very clear on what is getting done. The project manager was very professional and shared the status as is, even when there was some delays or challenges.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Commitment and honesty. The team was really and fully committed to the project and was able to create the required apps within the timeframe. The technical expertise of the team was very impressive. They used software development best practices, including design patterns, separation of concerns, database modeling, and flexible code. I conducted several code reviews as a consultant for the project, and found the code quality at an excellent level.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Almost nothing, this is a professional team and have solid experience in software development.

I worked with a religious charitable organization based in the UK. Sponsors fund the organization in order to help develop mobile apps to serve the community. My job was to connect sponsors with companies. The company has more than 150,000 iOS users and 1,000,000 Android users.

What challenge were you trying to address with Enozom Software?

We had some apps done by another company that needed further development in iOS and Android because of bugs and functionality issues. We also needed a Windows app to be created. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They developed the Windows app from scratch, continued the iOS and Android app development, and created links between the apps and the websites. 

The application we developed featured e-books. They created “smart” bookmarks, allowing for multiple users, bookmarks for reading, memorization, highlighting, underlining, circling passages, and setting a plan for finishing a book in a certain amount of time. There was also the ability to attach notes inside of passages.

My main point of contact was Hazem Torab (Founder & CEO, Enozom Software). At different points in the project, an additional teammate or two were assigned to work on it.

The CEO of the company was a colleague of mine from school.

We started in March 2014, and the project concluded in August 2019.

They were able to help with bugs, fixing them in a timely manner. They updated features as we asked. 

How did Enozom Software perform from a project management standpoint?

They informed me when they came across problems or questions. We had conference calls to help them better understand the requirements. I was informed of the progress weekly. We used a few project management platforms including Redmine and GitLab.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They were willing to negotiate when I felt the pricing was too high. They were adaptable and flexible when I had suggestions or wanted to make changes.

They could’ve allocated more resources to the project to complete things in a timelier fashion.

We did a lengthy process to hire enozom. First we shortlisted multiple companies from different countries. Then we further shortlisted companies based on their experience, availability of resources, cost, etc. We then identified enozom as the best fit for our requirements and then we visited them in their office on Alexandria and we then finally awarded them multiple projects.

A friend of mine recommended Enozom highly. They’d created a website for his company nine years ago, and their cooperation had continued smoothly since.

We met them and described what our goal for the website was. They set up a proposal, and we collaborated over the next two months. Fine-tuning the website and adding or removing information, we worked until we were satisfied. After a beta stage, we launched a secure site. I’m the CEO and founder of Agile Consent. We provide an end-to-end electronic process that uses mobile devices and electronic medical record integration to provide an efficient, high-quality, and customizable consenting experience for patients, thus eliminating the need for a paper-based procedure.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Enozom Software?

We needed to reduce our development costs and meet our deadlines with an agile and iterative approach. We wanted to add more features to the product, but, at the same time, meet the individual demands of our customers.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Enozom works on adding new features to our product, handling custom end-to-end development. We provide the requirements, documentation, screenshots, and so on, which they take and separate into stories that are entered into the developer portal. They assign developers to the sprints, create the code, and release it to our user-acceptance testing team in the U.S.

We work together to close any gaps we identify. Enozom also helps us with the deployment into production and with some smoke testing. This includes troubleshooting issues in production or non-production environments, performance tuning, architectural design, and end-to-end performance and functional testing.

The technologies used have mostly been from the Microsoft stack, including .NET and C#. We also use AngularJS and SQL Server.

What is the team composition?

They’ve allocated project managers, account managers, and lead developers. The team size fluctuates; it can go as high as six to seven people but the average is between three and four.

Even though there's someone in place who handles the account, I have direct access to the resources, which is great for alleviating bottlenecks and for getting fresh ideas from the team members.

How did you come to work with Enozom Software?

I had worked with their CEO at another company. I considered two other vendors but chose Enozom based on their maturity. They had a good 10 years under their belt, doing exactly what we were looking for. They were willing to allocate dedicated team members, and the quality of those members was high. Their experience, methodology, and pricing model seemed to be a better fit for us.

How much have you invested with them?

I believe the cost was around $50,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Enozom in April 2016. We’re still working together on new features, but the bulk of the work was delivered by July 2017.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our number of consents has been increasing every month, which not only shows that our existing users love the product, but also that we’re able to increase the user base.

The amount of features that we provide is also growing. This means that we've been able to stabilize the number of new releases we make and add new features to each. While there are some bugs with each release, the number has been under control thanks to Enozom's good regression testing.

How did Enozom Software perform from a project management standpoint?

Overall, project management has been consistent and productive. They conduct peer reviews and there’s always more than one person responsible for any one piece of code. The load balancing between different team members helps when it comes to meeting deadlines and making sure that we have the capacity to handle surprises, be they additional requests or changes in the existing demand.

We have regular checkpoints between the project manager, the technical lead, and the account manager. We also have a Google Hangouts group where we address quick questions, and use Team Foundation Server to manage the stories and workloads.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They invest time, money, and effort into understanding the business. They’ve been willing to go out of their comfort zone and into areas like UI/UX, functional testing, deployments, and regression testing. They’ve slowly acquired more responsibilities and we’re confident that they know what it takes to maintain and grow the business.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could expand their involvement with cloud technologies, growing and learning how to use more services in the space. Enozom could also invest in learning technologies specifically related to healthcare, like electronic medical records. Unfortunately, solutions in this space are not as open as ones in the e-commerce domain, for example. Enozom is working on this, but it would be great if they could speed it up.

Get to know the team members well and take time to explain everything, including the problem and challenges. This will help the developers better understand the parameters they’re working with and communicate better.
