Eltex implemented click tracking, so that I can monitor traffic volume and user journeys. It's too early to tell what the results are, but they created the website exactly as it was designed and even enhanced it with their own flare in some parts.

EltexSoft is responsible for the app's maintenance and will perform any software updates or upgrades I want for the project's life. What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

EltexSoft hasn't completed the app yet, and we'll measure success based on user subscription metrics and referrals managed within the app. The work the team has delivered so far has exceeded my expectations. Most of the bugs are already worked out when EltexSoft delivers work. The team is constantly coming up with new features and functionalities, whether they involve interaction with the app or different steps within it that they think would work best.

EltexSoft is constantly one step ahead of me, and it's refreshing to know the team thinks ahead of me and my ideas come as extra.

EltexSoft is constantly ahead of the project's schedule. We primarily communicate via Slack and also have meetings through Google Meet.

I want to highlight Denys (Founder), Daria (Project Manager), and Kseniia (COO), who are the teammates I've worked with the most. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

EltexSoft stands out for their professionalism and communication. The team is incredibly easy to work with and listens to me. I have ADHD and am constantly sporadic, and EltexSoft works with me to remind me about tasks and is flexible overall. I'm also impressed by the team's ability to hear my ideas and manifest them within days. EltexSoft understands my ideas and executes them quickly. 

I can't say enough good things about EltexSoft. This is the second development company I've worked with for this project, and I wish I had found EltexSoft from the beginning. Working with EltexSoft has been an incredible experience.

We had an initial proof of concept that needed a complete overhaul to allow scalability and extensibility. Everything from backend rewriting to a major refactoring of the interfaces, along with intelligent suggestions about what tools and technologies would best allow the software to grow easily into the future. Most importantly, we needed to ensure the changes wouldn't disrupt the existing deployments so that we could have regular upgrades, not long delays.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We went from a largely unstable demo to a bulletproof system in a very short period of time. More importantly, the changes they made have allowed us to innovate in really exciting directions without worrying about whether it's feasible, deployment-wise. We are now past the "stabilization" phase and onto creating fantastic new features, which are all handled with expert precision and guidance.

We have daily standups and sprints where the team reports on progress, helps plan the next tasks to be tackled, and asks whatever questions they might have. The level of engagement is incredible, and it's clear they come to those meetings prepared. We've never missed a deliverable, and in fact, we're currently running a bit ahead of schedule thanks to their incredible project management skills.

I’m the founder and CEO of a company with a product that connects email inboxes from different email providers to help improve email reputation. Currently, EltexSoft is working on a brand new version of our platform, building the main architecture of its frontend. Their team also provides us with the best practices for development. I give them backend points and designs, and they figure out the frontend — I don’t necessarily have to give them specific tasks.

We work with a frontend developer and a project manager. The manager makes sure the tasks are running smoothly and following the best practices while meeting timelines and guidelines.

How did you come to work with EltexSoft?

I found EltexSoft on Upwork. They had a ton of good reviews, making over a million dollars on that platform. At that time, I needed a partner who could work full-time for me at an affordable rate. Meanwhile, I knew nothing about frontend engineering and didn’t have the funds to hire an expensive engineer. Luckily, EltexSoft was affordable; they weren’t the cheapest, but they also weren’t the most expensive. As a result, I hired them.

We’ve spent between $90,000–$100,000.

We started working together in January 2019, and the project is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We have a stable and working platform. A lot of other people talk about scalability, and we’ve hit that; our platform can hold tens of thousands of users. Through this developer-side platform, we see all processes and progress we’ve made, which is nice. 

How did EltexSoft perform from a project management standpoint?

EltexSoft’s project management is great. I don’t necessarily have to pay extra for it, and they do a great job — I don’t have to manage the project by myself. Moreover, I like that a small team of people works behind their engineers to ensure things run smoothly. That isn't always the case with other providers. For project management tools, we use Shortcut and GitHub. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

EltexSoft’s communication skills set them apart from the competition. They almost always hit the deadlines they set, so there’s consistency as well. On top of that, they work with the same developer for years. This shows that EltexSoft takes care of the individuals that do their work — their developers are happy, so they stay with the team for years. This helps with productivity, too.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there aren’t any. EltexSoft does everything that I ask them to do. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Prepare a full scope of work before starting a project to make sure that everything will run successfully. Get everything ready for the EltexSoft team. 

For context, I wanted EltexSoft to start working on our project 2–3 weeks before I was ready. However, they asked me to prepare the entire project first and contact them when I was truly ready. I ended up making changes to the project using those 2–3 weeks. In the end, their request made sense. We would have wasted more time if we started working on the project without a full scope of work.

We’ve received positive feedback thus far. In general, their work has been appreciated with low bug rates and high customer satisfaction.

We mainly use Jira as our project management tool. We also deliver feedback on Sigma. They do a good job with project management, keeping up to date on deadlines, and proactively letting us know where the project is at without having to always reach out.

Their desire to complete tasks regardless of the time it’ll take, their insistence on proper technical standards, and their overall communication all stand out.

While their project managers speak perfect English, I run into communication issues with some of their developers who don’t speak English.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Our development process is now ongoing with Eltex. We have eliminated our technical debt, completed a half a dozen large sprints, and are in the process of re-architecting the entire platform to allow for smoother development cycles in the future.

Over the course of this year sprints have taken longer than expected because the original developer combined the back end and front end into one code base while using Yii 2.0. Eltex suggested (they admit they should have suggested this sooner) that we re-architect the entire site which we're doing now.
