We are one of the leading retail providers of organic/natural products in the US. We focus on quality, health, and living life to its fullest. I am the business development manager, although I wear many other hats as well. My job is to secure new business and to ensure current sales are ongoing. What challenge were you trying to address with Dotlogics?
We own several websites, each focusing on different sectors of our business. Managing all of our sites was getting cumbersome and time-consuming. Our backend platform was outdated and difficult to use. We werenโt able to gather information in the way that we wanted to and we werenโt able to create orders quickly and seamlessly using the backend, along with a number of other issues. My team needed a backend solution that was customized to our unique needs and vision and more importantly, was easy to use.
We needed a fresh new start with our website and with our admin panel. We have a very large product range and we needed someone to strategically organize this information so that it was easy to understand not only for our customers but also for the people who work behind the scenesโmy team. We also needed a whole range of new functionality. Each year, websites are getting more and more dynamic and interactive, so it was important to us that we give our customers the features they find most important.
Some of the features we added to the website are: a rewards system so that users could get a percentage off once they reach a certain amount of rewards; user ratings and reviews so that users can post comments and rate products; coupon management allowing us to create coupons whenever we need to; shipping management so that we can edit shipping prices without having to call a developer each time; etc.

What was the scope of their involvement?
The project Dotlogics recently finished for us included a new brand strategy, a website design revamp, and several marketing campaigns focused on lead generation and conversion. However, the real work was done on the backend. This is where Dotlogics built us a multi-functional admin panel that allows us to manage this website along with the other websites we own. Dotlogics has currently revamped six of our websites and we will continue with them for the remaining ones.
How did you come to work with Dotlogics?
We sent out an extensive request for proposal to 15 companies. My marketing associate interviewed each company, met with a few, and selected the top three. My management team and I made the final decision to select Dotlogics because we believed in their process, we saw that they were a reputable company, and we saw that they had massive experience in the e-commerce space.

This is an ongoing project. When Dotlogics is done with one website we start working with them on the next one.

What challenge were you trying to address with Dotlogics?
We needed a website that allowed us to reach out to our clients as well as display general information about our company.

What was the scope of their involvement?
They designed, developed, and wrote content for a complete website. This is a basic HTML site with information about our company, our services, and the projects we work on. Everything on the site is responsive, so when you hover over a project, it gives you a reaction to it. One of the biggest and most important things Dotlogics developed for us was the PlanRoom, an online portal for our vendors to access and use our plan for upcoming projects.
They were able to conceptualize what the site would look like after I spoke with the project manager. I told them what I was looking for, and they provided me with a complete framework of what it would look like. They came back to me with some basic designs and layouts to choose from. They then developed the site using HTML5. The PlanRoom, however, was programmed from scratch.
They also redesigned our logo. While we already had one, we didnโt have the original source files, so they had to redevelop it. We didnโt have them work on any advertising.
How did you come to work with Dotlogics?
I was researching online and found a couple of companies. I got prices from them and what they were going to do, and I felt that Dotlogics was the best option for me.

We spent about $5,000 on their services.
What is the status of this engagement?
The project ran from early February to the second week of March 2016.

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?
Our main goal was to establish an online presence. Weโre in a service business, and we donโt have online sales. Iโve received good feedback from clients who have visited the site and reviewed our projects. Iโve also had calls come in because people searched and found our website.
How did Dotlogics perform from a project management standpoint?
I had a representative there who was, more or less, responsible for the entire project. It was one-to-one in that sense. I was able to reach out to her directly and she told me the status of the work. They met the deadlines they had given me. I feel they were on point for project management.
In addition, they were on time. Iโve had other websites built for a couple other companies, and Iโve dealt with other developers. The most important aspects for me are time and money. Dotlogics met both targets.

Our previous website was outdated and was not allowing us to track sales, automate the e-commerce process or see how well our online business was doing. We needed a new website that would work better for us on the backend so that we could quickly see orders, see what products are working for us and what are not, see how well our sales are for a particular month, etc. On the user side, we wanted a website that was more modern. Although users were able to checkout and find what they were looking for, the design was outdated and just did not reflect our brand.
We needed a much more automated process so that we could focus on our business and did not have to spend hours every day figuring out our online sales. We are not developers and wanted a company to build us a website that we would be able to grow with for years to come. With the new website, our process is much quicker and easier with regards to sales, tracking, order management, product and inventory management, etc.

Can you tell me about the scope of the project?ย
They created the whole website from us from scratch. The frontend and the backend was revamped and developed by Dotlogics. Every three months, they also provide us with a website audit so that we can discuss improvements and latest trends. And we work with them on a monthly basis for site aftercare and ongoing upkeep.
What was your process for selecting Dotlogics?
I reached out to Dotlogics and a few others after searching for web design companies online. We visited Dotlogics and meet with a few team members. We went through our project with them and had brainstorming sessions to make sure both sides understood the project fully. We felt Dotlogics was responsive, the team was intelligent and understood our vision which allowed us to make the selection. We were looking for a team that would give our project special care and attention and we got that from the Dotlogics team.

What were the results of the project, and are there any metrics you can share?ย
Dotlogics performed well. Before the start of the project, their team and I created a checklist of everything we wanted the project to include. Dotlogics got everything done as they promised and professional weekly updates were given so we knew we were on track. Today, our sales and ordering system is fully automated and we are able to spend more and more time generating business rather than having to manage the website.
When working with them, was there anything unique about Dotlogics?
I liked their hand-holding. I liked knowing that my questions or concerns would never go unanswered. If I ever reached out to my project manager, I always got a response. There was no delay or lack of responsiveness from their end. I was treated like a member of their team and I was very comfortable working with them.

Can you share any results of the project?
We have metrics setup that tells us how the site is doing, what the user experience is, how many new users we have, what the bounce rate is, etc. We get a report from them every month that tells us how the site is doing. Overall we are growing and see the site doing better and better each month.
Through A/B testing, we were able to determine the best design/layout approach for the website. The project was done on time and on budget. Every 6 months or so we perform a site audit and are able to uncover new ideas and recommendations that we can utilize.
How did Dotlogics perform from a project management perspective?
My PM and I had a great relationship. Things got done on time. Our biggest concern was working with someone who could hold our hand and guide us through the process because I personally did not know anything about building a website. I was happy with the fact that my PM was available to us each week, we received weekly progress reports and video demos. That helped me know where we were and what direction we were going in.
What distinguishes Dotlogics from other companies?
I personally have not worked with other Dev companies. My IT person had a lot of experience and wanted to find a company that did what they said. It was important that they knew what they were doing, they had experience with directory websites, they were cooperative and were able to finish the project without it being a painful process. They have a strong step-by-step process, and they know how to deliver what they promise on time.

I don't see anything I would do differently. The whole process was a learning process for me but they were able to work with me each week so that we could build a website that represented my vision and the needs of our business. Dotlogics made a web portal for us that not only serves as an introductionย forย the company for its marketingย purposes,ย but also has all kinds ofย ecommerceย capabilities. We have many different types of customers โ some are wholesalers and some are distributors. We have different specialized pricing for different types of customers. It's a rather complex setup, but Dotlogics was very helpful in meeting all the requirements that we had and providing us a solution for that. Similarly, they did our inventory management system. It helped to organize our stock that we have for all our products and, on a real-time basis, we are able to manage our inventories at this point.
They integrated payment portals. Then, they had certain shipping arrangements with other companies like UPS, FedEx, and so on, and they incorporated all those into our website so that when a customer has a buying experience, he or she can very easily get all of the different options for shipping and making payments and things like this.
How did you come to work with Dotlogics?
We searched for development companies that were in the United States. There were several companies that had good portfolios like Dotlogics. We ended up choosing Dotlogics because of their good references and their experience with e-commerce sites.
Could you provide a sense of the size of this initiative in financial terms?
It cost around $50,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
They have completed our original project. It took about three months. They finished it ahead of schedule, which was very good because we had a dire need to have this project completed in time. They were ahead of time, so that was very helpful. We are now also engaging them to do some additional work for us right now.

Could you share any statistics or metrics from this engagement?
We not only get good feedback in terms of Dotlogics' design of the site, but we also have been making good sales and, day by day, the site is doing better and better. We're now engaging them for SEO [search engine optimization] services and other services to bring in traffic, and that's also starting to be very helpful to bring in more traffic to the site.

We were using a very old and outdated coding platform. It was difficult for us to switch to a different platform because our entire staff was using the old one. We had to find a company that would build us a new system that was easy to use so that the switch was easy and seamless. We also had many other things we needed, so we wanted to find one company that could do it all rather than divide the work up in a million pieces. Then, we needed a company that could create great web design to reflect the taste and culture we were looking to project.
Each website had its own goals so it's difficult just give one goal. The restaurant website they did for us was designed to be fun, lively, and bright so that it attracted the younger audience. It was connected to the POS [point-of-sale] system so that the back-end can manage the orders and plan.

We are working with Dotlogics on a number of things. They set up our entire POS system. They redesigned a few websites for us. They provided tech training to my staff. I had them brand one project with all print and web included.

What business challenge were you trying to address with Dotlogics?
With Dotlogics, we wanted to create a new, more modern website for our company. The goal was to reach new people and rate high in Google search results.
SOLUTION
Please describe the scope of their involvement in detail.
They created the new website from scratch. We provided the information on our products, pictures, write-ups โ things of that sort โ and colors; that kind of a thing. They created the website from scratch using WordPress.
They created an admin panel that was tailored to our requirements. and a recapture when you fill out the forms. They did a good job optimizing everything for SEO [search engine optimization].
How did you come to work with Dotlogics?
I researched people in my area. That was the goal that I had โ to have a company that I could easily, if I need to, take the car and just drive over. That was one of the primary concerns that I had when I searched for a company. I compared the prices, and they were a little bit less costly than others. I felt that they could provide the same quality product or website for a little bit less money.
Could you provide a sense of the size of this initiative in financial terms?
It was less than $10,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
Actually, I'm working with them now. I'm hoping I'll get in the budget to redo the website. I trust them that much that if I had the budget for my company, I will get them to do a more modern website. We are going back now with what they did for us a couple years now.

Could you share any statistics or metrics from this engagement?
The feedback from people is that it is easier to navigate through the website. All the information that we provide on our website has to be easily accessible, and that's what Dotlogics has done for us.ย
How did Dotlogics perform from a project management standpoint?
We went back and forth a couple times because we are not a typical company that will sell to a consumer. It's a hard concept for somebody who is not familiar with what we do. Our website has to be a little different than a general consumer, and they did very well. We went back and forth a few times, and they were very friendly and accommodating.ย
What distinguishes Dotlogics from other providers?
One of the things I have to say about them that distinguishes them is that their customer service is very good. Even today, if I have an issue, or want to make some changes, they're very helpful on doing that in a timely manner. Just last week, I had to add another product to the site, and I had to do it in a hurry because a press release was coming out, and I had to add something to it. They were very helpful on getting that result.
Is there anything Dotlogics could have improved or done differently?
I always deal with the middle person. I felt like when we were going back and forth when they were creating the website, and they were going back and forth, if I had access to the actual designer, things would have been expedited a little bit faster. Again, if that's the way they do business, that's the way they do business.
Things got resolved anyhow, but I felt that at the time if I had communicated with the actual designer, things would have gone faster. That's what I'm saying that I think they could improve on is to have more access the customer to the designer, if the product that we're talking about is different from what the standard thing is.

We are a distributor of industrial products. We distribute across five boroughs of New York, Long Island, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Philadelphia. We distribute products to hardware stores, lumberyards, locksmiths, and other companies and businesses that are in these industries.
What is your position?
I am the art director of the company.

What business challenge were you trying to address with Dotlogics?
We've been around for about 25 to 30 years working in this industry, and we've been growing. Now, we've decided to work with Dotlogics because our business has been growing so much that we need to update our online presence and our web presence.
SOLUTION
Please describe the scope of their involvement in detail.
Dotlogics is building a website for usย โ an interactive and detailed website. Many of our customers want to order online from us. Now, we only sell to previous customers. To become a customer of our business, you have to have a resale certificate, and you have to be within the industry that we serve. We won't sell to anyone off the street. It only is storefront businesses. They have to open an account, and we have a salesman that we sent to them.
Our website needed to have login, so Dotlogics helped us create specific log-ins for our customers. Our customers can log in and see their personal business account information, such as order history, billing information, statement information, recently ordered items, ship-to locations, and billing locations. Many of our customers have specific contracts, and Dotlogics helped create codes to make every account user-specific and pull up their own unique contract pricing. It's definitely a very specific website that we needed, and they've been great in making all of these requests work and work well.
How did you come to work with Dotlogics?
I spoke to other companies about their web designers. I did my own research online looking for different things that companies had done. We interviewed with a couple of companies. We had a certain budget in mind. We didn't have a specific budget, but we had a range of what we were looking to spend. We had narrowed it down to two companies, interviewed with both companies, and we liked both of them very much. Dotlogics was very quick on responding to us, and they were very professional. They came up with solutions, writeups, and discovery processes that were very quick and very detailed. They were very on top of it.

That's confidential.
What is the status of this engagement?
It's ongoing.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Could you share any statistics or metrics from this engagement?
The website is still in testing phase. We have it live, but we're still adding functions. We haven't actually initiated the order process, so the orders haven't come through yet. We've gotten people using our contact page to give us critiques about the website, and we've gotten a lot of positive feedback. We have a catalog that has more than 500 pages, and we don't print it out. We just put it on a CD and send it out. Occasionally, we might print out a catalog for a customer but, on the website, our customers can see our catalog, and they've been reviewing it and placing more orders because they can see it online.
Also, we've put our promotions online. Our customers can log on and see our price book and our current promotions, and that's also provoked more business. Customers can go online and see quantity on hand. They know that we have it in stock, and then they go ahead and call in to order it. It's definitely helped business in that aspect. Until we get the ordering process set up, I can't give feedback on the orders yet. I do have customers calling me every day asking when it's going to be ready, so they're very excited and anticipating it, which is great, too.
How did Dotlogics perform from a project management standpoint?
On a project like this, you need a company that is very organized and very detail-oriented so that nothing is left behind, and Hamda [Soni, project manager at Dotlogics] is beyond detailed. We talk about how detailed she is โ it's amazing. I get Google documents and Google spreadsheets that are tabs upon tabs upon sheets of information that she writes up, and it's phenomenal the things that she lays out for us. It's good. The review process is very detailed. There's a whole order. I'm the director of my department, and I'm busy doing other things at work. I'm the only one working on this project, and she leads me through the project and prompts me when I need to do something. Nothing is left behind. She's great. I couldn't have asked for a better project manager for this website. Dotlogics was a great partner for this project.
What distinguishes Dotlogics from other providers?
I feel like there's definitely a very personal relationship.ย I don't feel like I'm treated as just another client.ย There have been times where they've been accommodating to certain situations where out of courtesy they've added a function for us.ย

I don't believe so.

We offer an online learning platform where students and teachers get together for learning opportunities. We have an assortment of tools to help the further success for the student in their academic career.

What business challenge were you trying to address with Dotlogics?
At the onset, we needed an online system that facilitated the discussions and meetings between students and teachers. Previous to that we had a system that was very manual.ย It took a lot of time to get things rolling, and we found thatย it impacted our customer service as well.ย
SOLUTION
Please describe the scope of their involvement in greater detail.
There were several components to it. First, we needed the teachers to be able to post assignments and quizzes for the students, so we can assess their progress.ย From the student end, they helped create a portal where all of our lessons and graded quizzes were housed.ย They could track the progress visually.ย The principle piece of everything also gave access to parents so they could see the progress of the student.ย They could correspond with us or the teachers.
We do a good portion of the maintenance now, but Dotlogics was instrumental in helping us conceptualize the project and better understand our customerโs needs.ย They designed a platform that was reasonable and that made sense to our end users.ย They handled all the specific components from start to finish. We recently wanted to make some improvements and updates, so we have an ongoing project with them.
How did you come to work with Dotlogics?
We sent out requests for proposal [RFPs] throughout the market.ย We had done some research and we received proposals from 10 - 12 companies. Dotlogicโs was the most compelling proposal.ย They were a little more expensive but the results that they were going to deliver absolutely made it worth it.

The development cost around $300,000.

Could you share any statistics or metrics from this engagement?
We want to know what our customers think. Itโs unequivocal when we look at our customer satisfaction survey results beforehand that they were okay results, but when we look at them now, the customers have claimed that itโs easier to use our system.ย You can visually see everything you need to see, and they donโt have to call customer support to get explanations on how to use the system. Customer feedback on the platform has been phenomenal.ย Thatโs the main thing that weโre interested in, and Dotlogics got us there.
How did Dotlogics perform from a project management standpoint?
Dotlogics were really great. We are not experts in getting this platform set up, and they made sure to communicate with us on the progress of the project. If there was a challenge, we always knew what was going on.
What distinguishes Dotlogics from other providers?
They are an IT company, and communicating with other IT companies can be difficult, especially since they tend speak using very technical language. With Dotlogics, we found that when we started the project, they used very simple language, which made it very easy for us to understand. If some part of our vision didnโt make sense to them or they felt it was going to be injurious to customer service, they explained it from a technical perspective but in very common, everyday language. I absolutely appreciated that about them.
