Overall, we're extremely happy with Devika Creations’ work. Devika undertook the end to end development of my platform Flex. Creatinng a marketplace for personal trainers to connect with clients. 

The scope included, UI/UX design, backend development, integration of third-party API's for payment processing, geolocation etc, front end development with user friendly interfaces for iOS and android and on going servicing and maintenance.

My platform was launched successfully with the user flow and functionality working as it should. And we onboarded over 500 users within the first year.

Their time management was good. They outlines targets into 2 week sprints and met their sprints on time. I made some changes to the development along the way and the team were able to pivot to meet my needs.

I dont have much for feedback here. I was very happy with the final product and found the team to be transparent with their communication.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m one of the co-founders of Glean App, an all-in-one weight loss fitness app.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Devika Creations?

We needed to simplify and make our app's UX more friendly to make weight loss accessible and easier for our clientele. We also wanted to make it easier for older generations to log workouts, track food, and log their progress.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Devika Creations has helped us revamp the UX of our mobile app for iOS and Android and helped us with our web-based portal, which all our coaches and nutritionists can access on their desktops.

At first, we called them and had a few back-and-forth discussions on different ideas and layouts that would suit our clientele. Then, we explained what we wanted the app to do. Afterward, the team started the design phase and later moved on to the actual development.

Now that we have explained how simple and user-friendly we want the app to be, Devika Creations has created the designs using Figma. It has taken them six months to create the app's MVP.

To sum up, Devika Creations has been involved in the app's design, development, and ongoing support. Their team has offered web and logo design and branding services, but we have our own marketing team, so that has all been figured out.

What is the team composition?

Initially, we were introduced to Ken, the owner of Devika Creations. At the moment, we have worked with Byron, the head of project management, who has helped us refine our ideas, and with Chris, a developer, and another developer.

How did you come to work with Devika Creations?

We got them through word of mouth. We knew Devika Creations had built a successful fitness app in Australia. So, when we met someone who had previously built an app with them, he gave us their contact information. So, we reached out to Devika Creations in the summer of 2023. Then, we had an engaging conversation with them. Because of that and the trustworthy word of mouth, it was a no-brainer that we went with them.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in July 2023 and are still working with them. We’re adding quite a few app features and reinvesting back into them to keep adding more for our members.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Devika Creations has successfully delivered a mobile app with refined UX. The app works extremely quickly and has proven user-friendly from the get-go. The team has been swift in rolling out features.

By the middle of January 2024, we had about 500 members on the app, so we decided to perform a big launch. It's worth noting that we had 4,000–5,000 members on the day of launching. Now, we have around 6,000. There have been no issues so far; everything has been going well.

Thanks to their work, during the launch week in April, our app was number two in health and fitness on the App Store in Ireland and number 17 for the overall application market in the UK.

How did Devika Creations perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re on the ball with time management. We communicate with them on Slack daily, handling different parts of the project through different channels, and also have calls throughout the month. Moreover, the team has swiftly solved any little problems that pop up.

Their ongoing support is exceptional; we work with them daily. If I send them a message, they respond ASAP.

Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?

I'd like to give a shout-out to Byron, Daniel, and Chris.

They have been extremely good from the start. They have truly helped us, young founders who don't have a tech background, and have explained everything very simply to us from the very start. They've detailed the implications of every choice we’ve made and ultimately have helped us make very good decisions. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their integrity and care are the foundation of their company. It’s clear Devika Creations is extremely passionate about every single part of the project. Furthermore, they have a very user-first approach and a remarkable ability to explain quite complex things in very simplified terms. They have helped us weigh the pros and cons of our decisions within the app. I can’t praise their efficiency enough. We may have made mistakes if there had not been a great team like them with us.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There's nothing I'd have them improve. Our project has been very successful and straightforward so far. I would tell them to just keep doing what they're doing.

Be crystal clear on the foundational things you want the app to do from the start. From there, it will all fall into place. Once you’re clear on what you want to achieve from the application, Devika Creations will take care of the rest.
