Very positive response on the overall look + feel/experience from our executives, customers, partner sponsors. Repeatable assets that can continue to be used for smaller versions of our flagship event.

I can't say enough positive things about their project management. We are a demanding company, we hired them last minute because we were not happy with our current vendor, and the delivered everything we needed on time. They communicated well and kept us on track for the print vendors deadlines. They track everything on their end and give us visibility to the status of all the moving pieces.

We contact Design in Mind in mid-2018 with nothing more than a name and an idea -- we wanted to launch Silicon Valley's first nonprofit news organization, named San José Spotlight. As a team of journalists, we knew nothing about logos, branding, design, marketing or creating a website. After considering multiple proposals, we hired Design in Mind because the team immediately understood our vision and brand messaging -- and they executed flawlessly. They took an idea and brought it to life with an award-winning logo and website that truly captured the essence of trust, professionalism and credibility.

Their communication was clear and prompt, and they met every deadline. We received a suite of deliverables that we continue to use today -- brand assets, style guides, organizational voice and marketing, a customizable WordPress website and successful social media strategy.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Since launching our website in Jan. 2019, we've built an impressive audience that follows our journalism each day and believes in our work. On average, we receive 400,000 pageviews (clicks) a month from 250,000 readers or users. Our journalism has won 21 state and national awards. And our logo -- designed by the Design in Mind team -- actually won several awards as well. Our website is consistently ranked among the best in our industry and we receive regular compliments from readers, donors and journalism colleagues.

Yes absolutely. The Design in Mind team -- led by several amazing women -- met every deadline and communicated promptly if they ever needed more time for anything. They responded to all of our feedback and edits quickly, and made suggestions to help us create the best product possible.

I love that it is a local San Jose-based company and it's led by women. I also loved that they offered a generous discount for us because they believed in our idea and vision -- and because we're a nonprofit organization. Without the generous discount, I'm not sure we could fully bring our vision to life. They offer the discount program, called Design in Kind, to a deserving nonprofit each year. They give back to their community!
Are there any areas for improvement or something Design in Mind could have done differently?
I honestly cannot think of anything. We had such a great experience with Design in Mind that we continue to work with them again and again -- five years later -- for new projects and ideas, and as we expand our business. They helped create branding for our podcast, a billboard in downtown San Jose and our first-ever political festival. We've hired them multiple times since our first experience in 2019 and we'll continue to do so. No one understood our vision and mission better than Design in Mind.
