client over the phone. Below is an edited

BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
We're a startup based in Alabama launching a multiplatform web app that allows college students to sell textbooks directly to other students, without the interference of the stores. Books usually come with high prices, and their resale value is low. I am the founder of the company.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Daffodil Software?
We have in-house developers but needed extra hands to hit our deadline.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Daffodil Software has worked remotely with our developers. Our CTO [Chief Technology Officer] acted as the project manager, setting up tasks on Trello. He has also designed the product architecture.
Our login box allows users to use their Twitter, Facebook or Instagram accounts. Daffodil Software also worked on our negotiation functionality, through which students can go back-and-forth with each other.
We have used 3 developers from Daffodil Software, who worked 9 hours per day. We logged around 137 hours per week.
How did you come to work with Daffodil Software?
We were looking for developers who were proficient in MediaElement.js and ReactJS and had a rigorous selection process using Upwork. Out of the 46 developers who applied for our job, 23 made the interview, and the final selection included only 3, Daffodil Software being among those.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with Daffodil Software 2 weeks ago, and the work is around 60% complete. We expect to finish within another 2 weeks and begin the testing phase.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?
Daffodil Software's developers are top-notch and haven't needed any handholding from us.
How did Daffodil Software perform from a project management standpoint?
Daffodil Software has delivered on time. We use Slack for communicating with developers, and Trello for task management.
What did you find most impressive about Daffodil Software?
Our CTO rarely mentions how good a developer is, so, when he said this about Daffodil Software, I knew there was something special about their team. Daffodil Software needs to make sure that clients understand how good the team is.
Are there any areas Daffodil Software could improve?
I can't think of any improvements for them. We have our management team handling Daffodil Software's developers, so things could have been different if they'd provided the management.
What tips or recommendations could you share that might increase the likelihood of success with Daffodil Software?
The value offered by Daffodil Software to clients is top-notch. I didn't find out how good Daffodil Software was until after a couple of days working with them.

Daffodil replicates existing websites using WordPress/Drupal and also implements separately designed wireframes. Their involvement remains ongoing.
Key strengths include meticulous project management, superior English communication, and uncompromising responsiveness.

client over the phone. Below is an edited

BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
We provide websites for the not-for-profit sector and for membership organizations. We are a 12-member company based in central London and have recently branched out to strategic and consulting work. I am one of the owners of the company.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Daffodil Software?
We needed assistance with the web development side of our business.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
We are approaching half a dozen completed projects with Daffodil Software, all fitting the same mold. We provide existing sites that are being migrated from one platform to another, replicating graphical designs and information architecture into WordPress, most typically. We have also used the Drupal platform in one case. Daffodil Software's role is to reproduce the website exactly. There is a number of plug-ins used by Daffodil Software, with bespoke styling themes.
We have mainly used Daffodil Software for building websites for authors, so the main purpose has been to showcase books, present previews, and offer details about the writer.
We have used different working models with Daffodil Software, which is one of their major benefits. Because they're flexible in this regard, Daffodil Software is able to make sensible decisions about each project. In some cases, we used a dedicated developer and ran multiple projects concurrently. When that hasn't been the case, we adopted a fixed fee and developed the sites one after the other. We have also used separate assets for the imagery and design elements, and our allocated hours were shared between resources.
How did you come to work with Daffodil Software?
I can't remember what our first contact with Daffodil Software was, but I got in touch with their sales team and had introductory conversations through Skype. It was a very quick process, going from first introductions to getting quotes for the first pieces of work.
How much have you invested with Daffodil Software?
The total cost of Daffodil Software's services has been around $20,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We have been working with Daffodil Software for around one year.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?
Our clients have been happy with Daffodil Software's work, which is the major metric we've used, as unscientific as it is.
How did Daffodil Software perform from a project management standpoint?
Daffodil Software's strength is that they are extremely easy to work with. I can't recall any point of being dissatisfied with their side. Daffodil Software has a get-it-done mentality, the communication is great, and getting updates for our work is easy. Our dedicated person is only in contact when he needs to be, which is perfect, and Daffodil Software is very pragmatic in terms of approach. There was a period during which we didn't pass much work to Daffodil Software, and we didn't hear from their sales person reminding us of this.
What did you find most impressive about Daffodil Software?
I mainly appreciated Daffodil Software's flexibility and pragmatism towards the work. I have delivered some horrendous briefs to Daffodil Software during our collaboration. They were able to take those and make the right decisions regardless of my poor communication.
Are there any areas Daffodil Software could improve?
Anything I could suggest would be unrealistic. Daffodil Software has done what was expected.

Daffodil developed desktop/mobile versions of an existing Magento-based marketplace allowing users to purchase perishable consumer products from around Latin America.
Strengths include a clear understanding of Magento, superior communication skills, and consistent access to project leadership whenever issues arise. It was also recommended they adopt project management software to aid progress tracking.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited
transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
Our company builds e-business platforms, especially for the import of perishable goods and certain other items from overseas. We distribute products to the US and Canada. I am the chief executive officer of the company.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Daffodil Software?
We are launching additional e-commerce platforms and one of them is aimed at Latin America. We have been working with Daffodil Software for this project.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Daffodil Software produced a Magento 2.0 platform and customized it according to our needs. The work involved some design. We've worked collaboratively with the team in order to craft the mobile and desktop versions of the site. In addition, Daffodil Software built certain modules that we required. We have used Daffodil Software for developing several additional customer requests, and we're looking to hire a permanent in-house resource, which will work with them. I was in touch with 5 coders and designers from Daffodil Software, as well as their team lead and project manager.
How did you come to work with Daffodil Software?
I was looking for companies on several platforms, including Upwork.com and Freelancer, where I posted a brief idea of the project we needed to start. Daffodil Software responded and I reviewed their profile. We liked that Daffodil Software had a presence in the US, providing additional accountability. Before hiring Daffodil Software, we went through an in-detail conversation about how they planned to build our platform and why they chose that process. After that, we compared them to 2 to 3 other companies. We found that Daffodil Software offered the most value, not only in terms of prices but also in terms of quality and internal resources.
How much have you invested with Daffodil Software?
We paid around $14,000 for the original project. In total, the cost of Daffodil Software's services has been between $20,000 and $25,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with Daffodil Software at the beginning of 2016. Our engagement is ongoing.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?
We haven't launched the platform yet, but the work has been a success. We were able to complete more than the required tasks while sticking to our budget. It has taken a bit more time, but that is fine, considering that we've added improvements. Both of our teams have learned a lot through the experience. It's important to note that we chose a recently-launched platform, Magento 2.0, which still had many bugs at the time. It was a huge challenge for Daffodil Software to build a solution on a potentially unstable platform. Daffodil Software was actually able to accomplish this, which I consider the greatest success we've had. Daffodil Software even fixed issues which were inherent to the Magento platform itself, implementing Magento 1.9 customizations which weren't yet available for the new version.
How did Daffodil Software perform from a project management standpoint?
We were on-budget, but timelines can become tricky. Whenever blueprints were already set, the deliverables came on time. When we were unsure and needed to build upon what Daffodil Software created, the timeline was expanded. This is part of a normal process. We were going to use Trello in the beginning but ended up sticking to simple Google Docs sheets. There, we listed the debugging and QA tasks. This process turned out to be much more effective.
What did you find most impressive about Daffodil Software?
It's important to mention that Daffodil Software's communication channels are clean and transparent. They assigned a project manager with excellent English skills for us, which is not often found when dealing with Indian developers. The same was true about the coders, so we were able to talk to them directly. Plus, they were open to having meetings on less than a day's notice.
Are there any areas Daffodil Software could improve?
There is always something to improve. For example, the implementation of certain project management software would be nice.
What tips or recommendations could you share that might increase the likelihood of success with Daffodil Software?
I recommend that clients try to be as specific as possible and at least have a requirements document. This suggestion applies to any tech company as it can save time and money. We've had many cases in which there was only a general idea, which could lead to trouble in the end.

Daffodil developed iOS/Android versions of an existing platform, granting its users remote access to an online business directory. The engagement is ongoing.
Highlights include attentiveness to all client considerations, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and English skills far superior to average offshore providers.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited
transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
We are the developer of an online directory with local instances for various cities in the United States and Canada, focusing primarily on entertainment venues like restaurants and bars as well as lodging, transportation services, and so on. We create the directory and license users who manage it at a local level. I am the president of the company.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Daffodil Software?
We created our original directory in 2009 and needed to update it as well as our phone app, making it more dynamic and user-friendly.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Daffodil Software was hired to develop our mobile app for both iOS and Android, making it more representative of the main site. Its main goal was to allow users to perform searches for specific venues and events. Our previous version only posted events, but the current version works similarly to the main website, allowing users to find out details about events, upload pictures of their meals, and so on.
We realized quickly that, because the site was so old, many of the coding languages behind it had changed. In order to make the current site share data with the app, we would have had to spend a lot of money. Our long-term goal was to build a new site, so we moved ahead on this as well.
Daffodil Software assigned separate teams for our app and website. We only interacted with the initial contact as well as with a member of Daffodil Software's team, who wrote our scope of work, and with a team leader.
How did you come to work with Daffodil Software?
We used to do development internally, but parted ways with our resource at the end of 2015. I started looking for outsourcing companies in the U.S. and offshore and came across Daffodil Software – most likely on LinkedIn.
How much have you invested with Daffodil Software?
The total cost of our project with Daffodil Software was between $60,000 and $65,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with Daffodil Software in February 2016.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Could you share any evidence or success stories that would demonstrate the impact of their involvement?
Our work with Daffodil Software has been very good. They were not the cheapest company possible, but one of the reasons for selecting Daffodil Software, besides their past work, was their ability to communicate in English. Everyone I've dealt with has been very good and relatively easy to understand.
Daffodil Software was attentive to our concerns, whenever this happened. We were in disagreement a couple of times, when looking at what had been built, versus what was proposed, and Daffodil Software addressed those issues. We've had a good experience overall, and I have a good relationship with everyone there.
How did Daffodil Software perform from a project management standpoint?
We made some changes, either through internal discussions or at Daffodil Software's suggestion, which increased the budget and timeline. We primarily communicate via Skype and email, and any changes or issues were tracked through a Google document.
What did you find most impressive about Daffodil Software?
When we were proposing different ideas, our contact from Daffodil Software offered ideas based on what they'd done in the past. There were things which we didn't consider, but were very good ideas. It was good to have an experienced 3rd party looking at our work and suggesting improvements.
Are there any areas Daffodil Software could improve?
There was a period of time without much communication, and we ended up wondering what was happening. This is a normal part of the process, and not all lines of code are relevant. This is more personal uneasiness rather than an actual issue.

Daffodil Software was hired to supply dedicated engineers in support of challenging project work. Their performance has led to further involvement.
Notable achievements include minimal turnover in assigned resources and the ability to maintain a clear line of communication.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited
transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
Speaker A: We are an IT company serving the US Department of Defense and emergency responders. We provide web and mobile applications that focus on mass notifications, alerting, and accountability. The company was founded in 2013. I am a co-founder and chief operating officer of the company. My co-founder is the lead technical developer.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Daffodil Software?
Speaker B: Our project is a communications API used to support notifications and accountability services. We worked with Daffodil Software in order to design a solution for our client.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Speaker A: We have worked on 3 projects with Daffodil Software and are about to start a 4th.
Speaker B: Our project has currently been implemented on the Amazon Cloud Services platform. The deliverables consist of Java code and documentation for it. Daffodil Software also provided configuration artifacts and components for that cloud infrastructure. It has minimal graphical user interface components. It is mostly an API for developers. Our next project with Daffodil Software consisted of a more complete, mobile device user interface for both Android and iOS. It will be an end-user terminal for our MCA2 communication application. Users will be able to view notification information and alerts. They can also provide accountability information through API integration.
Speaker A: Our product is a mass notification and alert system for the DoD. It will set up alerts to be sent via specific messages. The department will then use our system in order to broadcast their information to millions of users. The mobile app will give users a chance to respond, and return data back to the DoD command element.
Speaker B: Now, we're collaborating with Daffodil Software for load testing and quality assurance. As we shift, we plan to have a more automated QA process. Our intention is to run each iteration through a test script which will handle most of that. Our product is currently in development.
Speaker A: We've typically worked with a team of 2 developers from Daffodil Software, 1 senior and 1 junior. We've been lucky to have been assigned the same team from the beginning, which leads to more consistency. Daffodil Software's knowledge has been aligned with our needs. When we were developing Android and iOS apps, they assigned extra team members who specialized in mobile operating systems. We had a project manager and 2 developers for that work as well, so we've had a team of up to 5 people.
How did you come to work with Daffodil Software?
Speaker A: We went through a fair amount of due diligence, and realized that, for cost reasons, we needed to go offshore. We initially targeted Google and Microsoft partners. We looked at what we thought were pre-vetted companies. We narrowed our choice down to 3 and went through a fairly detailed process with those companies. Daffodil Software wasn't the cheapest option, but we believed that they had the most technical competence. They asked the most intelligent and probing questions. They also provided the clearest solutions and outlined services that satisfied our needs.
How much have you invested with Daffodil Software?
Speaker A: The cost of Daffodil Software's services is below $5,000 per month.
What is the status of this engagement?
Speaker A: We started working with Daffodil Software in October of 2014.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?
Speaker A: From a business point of view, Daffodil Software has enabled us to develop products which we couldn't have afforded otherwise.
Speaker B: From a technical standpoint, we value the collaborative work process which we have with Daffodil Software. We can express our ideas and objectives to their engineers. They then design solutions which are then discussed by our teams. Their technical expertise and experience with different platforms help us create quality components. Their development teams are also very competent, particularly the developers that worked with us.
How did Daffodil Software perform from a project management standpoint?
Speaker A: We've always worked with a project manager from Daffodil Software. That project manager oversees everything in terms of billing and ongoing questions. We found that person to be very helpful, professional and communicative. One of the things that made our interaction with Daffodil Software effective was to have regular communication. At the moment, we have 1-hour weekly meetings in order to set goals, review the work done, and plan ahead. We use Google Hangouts for that. Daffodil Software's technical competence and project management have been very good. The onboarding process went smoothly.
Speaker B: We've improved our work process the longer that we've collaborated with Daffodil Software. From my perspective, this is a valuable asset for our organization.
We track our project progress using Jira. We've found it to be a very helpful tool. The more defined and clearer a task is, the better. There was a bit of a learning curve in this regard. But the whole process starting working well once we set up regular communications. We shared documents, tracked bugs, and broke down projects into tasks in Jira.
What did you find most impressive about Daffodil Software?
Speaker B: I have worked with teams similar to Daffodil Software in the past. One of the advantages is that the same lead developer from Daffodil Software has worked with us for all our projects. In the past, there was some changeover with other developers, which always slowed things down. We had to bring in new team members and let them get up-to-speed with the project, thus losing some velocity.
Are there any areas Daffodil Software could improve?
Speaker A: Communication was the only problem which we had in the beginning, due to the awkward 11-hour time zone difference. Our meetings with Daffodil Software have to either be early in the morning our time or late in the evening in their location. Sometimes, we met switched schedules. Daffodil Software could have thought about a communication plan from the start. It would have sped things up a bit. But, overall, it's worked out well.
Speaker B: I would like to see a bit more consistency in terms of comments and deliverables. It would also be good to have a predefined format for documentation. We are technically competent enough to do that. But, if we simply wanted a team that could build software for us, we would need that.
What tips or recommendations could you share that might increase the likelihood of success with Daffodil Software?
Speaker B: Any client should be as clear and specific as possible with their goals and objectives. Many of the things that we've stumbled on resulted from not having fully fleshed-out tasks or aspects of the project. That left elements up for interpretation by the contracting developers. This doesn't always work out.
Speaker A: There needs to be regular communication. Ideally, that should be 3 days a week, especially when getting to GUI aspects. There needs to be a place where screenshots can be shared and goals can be visually conveyed. It is also important to have a tool like Jira for managing tasks. Language hasn't been too much of a problem for us. Daffodil Software's team has good English skills, but it was a concern.

Daffodil Software was hired to salvage a solution initiated by a separate provider. They were retained as a extension of the in-house development team for various projects, dedicating up to 7 developers.
Daffodil Software resolved the initial app, which is used by 750 people, on time and within budget. The team regularly completes tasks ahead of schedule, provides daily status reports, and tracks issues with Redmine. They are flexible and consistently go above and beyond in customer service.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited
transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I am the vice president of a brand communications company. We focus on hi-tech healthcare medical devices.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Daffodil Software?
We needed resources for finishing a project that was started by another developer. Our previous partner got in over their head and realized that they couldn't deliver what was promised. Instead of working something out, they simply disappeared.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Daffodil Software picked up the work done by our previous developer, essentially fixing it. The work started out as a simple web-based sales training application, but we then switched to native app development. We've also contracted Daffodil Software for a client's WordPress site. Daffodil Software acts as an extension of our development team. We've brought in their people for different tasks on other engagements. We then expanded their roles once they became familiar with our projects. At peak capacity, Daffodil Software assigned 7 developers to our projects.
How did you come to work with Daffodil Software?
When our initial project went south, I posted a request for assistance on a message board. Daffodil Software was one of the companies which replied. We considered a total of 12 other candidates and narrowed our choice to 3. Ultimately, we chose Daffodil Software.
How much have you invested with Daffodil Software?
The total cost of Daffodil Software's services has been between $20,000 and $30,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We're currently using Daffodil Software for 2 projects. The initial app was launched in April 2016.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?
Daffodil Software came in and saved our budget and the project. They delivered something which the client was excited about. The app built by Daffodil Software has been used by around 750 people.
How did Daffodil Software perform from a project management standpoint?
The experience was excellent in terms of project management. Daffodil Software did a good job of under-promising and over-delivering. They not only hit our deadlines but exceeded them. We were always in contact with Daffodil Software and received daily status reports from the team. Daffodil Software used Redmine for issue tracking, which was helpful. Most communication was done through email and Skype calls.
What did you find most impressive about Daffodil Software?
I appreciated Daffodil Software's flexibility and willingness to go above-and-beyond the call of duty. They worked on projects which weren't completely related to our main one, just to make sure that they were making the best use of their time. Daffodil Software assigned someone from their team to work on a schedule that was closer to our time zone. Even though there's a 12-hour time difference, communication was never really an issue.
Are there any areas Daffodil Software could improve?
I'm sure that there could be something to improve. Most of our projects were very fast and furious, so it would be hard to say if any shortcomings were due to our rushed schedule or not. As far as I'm concerned, Daffodil Software exceeded all of my expectations.

Daffodil Software built a user-friendly dictionary app for Android. The team modeled the app after the exiting iOS version, advised on the project, and launched the app.
The app has recently launched, but already has a nearly perfect rating in the Android store with new users and downloads every day. Daffodil Software incorporates testing as part of their regular practice and delivers high-quality, well-written, and thoroughly tested code.

BACKGROUND
We're a collaborative online dictionary service that allows regular users to submit improvements to our dictionaries. I'm the CEO [chief executive officer] and co-founder.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
We have a great dictionary, but we didn't have any expertise in building Android applications. We wanted to build a simple, fast, and easy to use "no-fluff" dictionary application for Android. We had the vision and the scope pretty well defined, but we needed the technical talent to build our application.
SOLUTION
I've previously worked with Daffodil Software on some other projects, and I didn't even talk to any other firms for this project. I knew they'd be a great choice based on their past performance. I worked with Anil, and he put together a team that used our iPhone application as a rough prototype. They took the architecture and adapted it to the Android environment. They advised us on all aspects of the project and the actual launch of the app itself.
Honestly, sometimes "outsourcing software to India" is a euphemism for getting back a low-quality product that conforms exactly to your functional requirements and yet has very little usability. However, the last time I worked with them, I did a casual code review and was happy to find that the code was extremely well written, and tested. I'm not exactly sure how common it is to have an Indian offshore developer incorporate testing into their regular practice, but I found it extremely valuable – even essential.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
The application has just recently been launched, but so far the traction is good. We have an almost perfect rating on the Android store and new users are installing the dictionary every day. I'm super happy with the quality of the product that was delivered. I would definitely work with them again and recommend them to others.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited
transcript.
BACKGROUND
Please describe your organization.
We're a design consultancy specializing in designing printed circuit boards and embedded firmware. We have more than 30 years' experience in this field. We work mostly with RF [radio frequency]-related technology and power control LCDs with custom embedded firmware. We're a design partner of Microchip Technology and most of our customers tend to be smaller companies who want electronic content in their products, but lack the design capabilities or if they have a design department, are in need of more resources. Being a designer myself, I take part in the entire design process from designing schematics, specifying parts, designing the printed circuit boards, and building prototypes. When there's only one person working on the project, the customer will know whom they should complain to.
What is your position?
I'm an engineer.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What business challenge were you trying to address with Daffodil Software?
Some of the applications that we work on need PC- or Android-based software to work as a user interface. I don't have expertise in those areas and needed help to ensure that the applications would have an appropriate and usable interface.
SOLUTION
Please describe the scope of their involvement.
We've worked on a couple of projects with them. One was the development of an Android application. The other was a Windows-based PC app for making custom graphics.
We worked with Daffodil Software on defining specifications. They produced the software, emailed it to us, and then reworked it until we got rid of all the bugs.
Our first points of contact are their designated project managers for Windows and Android, respectively. They offer nice documentation for their work distribution. At the beginning of the project, we receive a list of the people that will be working for us, and how many engineers and technicians will be involved.
On the Android app we worked on, the team assigned consisted of a project manager, a team leader, one mobile developer, one QA [quality assurance] resource, and one multimedia designer – a total of five people.
How did you come to work with Daffodil Software?
I'd wanted to form a working relationship with an Indian software house for some time. We attend training classes from Microchip and noticed that the Indian engineers have a good grasp on software. I looked online for a firm with the expertise that we needed and came across Daffodil Software.
Could you provide a sense of the size of this initiative in financial terms?
The typical cost per project is $12,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We've been working with Daffodil Software for two years. The work is ongoing.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Could you share any statistics or metrics from this engagement?
The Windows app was meant to embed foreign text into the final application. It presents the foreign texts that are needed in the product interface for the user to enter the equivalent text in their own language. The customer wanted the device to be used anywhere in the world, presenting the appropriate language in the LCD. At first glance, this would be impossible as it's an embedded app and doesn't have the necessary space for storing every conceivable font. We came up with the idea of using small bitmaps so that the user can select any font, type in their text, and the app will save the information on the PC, outputting a binary file containing bitmaps of all necessary text. That file is downloaded through a USB connection to the target application, and the result is identical to whatever the customer had inputted.
The Android app is still in development, mostly because the customer keeps changing their mind. They want to add things to it constantly. We are working for a small company in Greece producing metal detectors. The feedback we get for our work comes from a nontech person as the engineer in the company doesn't speak English. I don't have exact metrics, but I'm happy with the progress.
We also set up Google Docs spreadsheets for user acceptance testing feedback. As we test the app, we can add any bugs found into it, which Daffodil Software will see in real time. That works better than going backward and forward with Microsoft Word documents, which was our original approach.
How did Daffodil Software perform from a project management standpoint?
Daffodil wrote the software, we got the bugs out of it, and we presented it to the end user. They're quite happy with it, so I would say it was a satisfactory outcome. It was completed within the timescale and price that we agreed on. We don't use any formal project control software.
What distinguishes Daffodil Software from other providers?
What impressed me about Daffodil Software was the amount of detail in their project proposal documentation. They set out what their objectives were, who was going to be working with us, and what procedures were to be followed in case of a disagreement. I chose them as a developer and haven't regretted the decision.
