My brother and I founded a startup in 2014, a business all about sports and healthy lifestyle. We own a sports club and sell fitness nutrition and supplements.

What challenge were you trying to address with Cleveroad?

We wanted to create an engaging and wholesome experience for our clients. The fitness business world is very competitive, so we decided to get our business online and let our clients exercise outside the gym. We wanted to have an app that could track health condition and daily activities, count calories, plan meals, and buy fitness nutrition and supplements. This would basically replace a personal trainer. The first features that we decided to work on were tracking daily health condition and activities, along with nutrition planning.

The project is going to consist of four separate stages: iOS app MVP [minimum viable product], developing the iOS app, developing the Android app, and finally a smartwatch extension.

When we realized our business was on the rise we decided it was best to expand. Searching Google, I found the article about fitness apps created by Cleveroad. A day after I got in touch with them, I received a rough estimate from them.

Currently, we are testing the first version of the MVP. The design and development took exactly 8 weeks and $12,000.

The project is ongoing.

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

Personally, I really love the design of the app. I find it really engaging and transparent. As for the functional side, those in our team who have tried using the app note its simplicity and accuracy. The functions do exactly what you expect them to do. The next step will be to test the app with our real customers, but we are optimistic.

How did Cleveroad perform from a project management standpoint?

As for project management, it was organized pretty well. Cleveroad was very transparent in the early stages in how the work would be organized. We had regular meetings to stay on top of the project and frequently received emails with updates. I felt I had control over the project, which was great.

What did you find most impressive about Cleveroad?

Everything was completed exactly as we wanted. We are especially satisfied with the design. After testing, we are going to deploy the app to the App Store. If everything goes fine, we’ll continue cooperation with Cleveroad covering the next three planned stages.

They could have followed my plan a bit more.

What challenge were you trying to address with Cleveroad?

We had an idea and wanted to develop a website for the startup. We needed this website to be the public face of our firm and portray a high-tech image and sleek design. Since many people will judge our idea and future success of our website, it was extremely important to choose the right vendor.

We also had budget limitations, so we turned to the local development talent, which can provide great quality at reasonable prices.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Cleveroad developed our website. After a discussion with our technical manager, we decided that the stack would include Node.JS, MySQL for the database, and jQuery for the client side.

Cleveroad put together a technical team for us, including 2 developers, one project manager and one quality assurance [QA] tester. We included developers in our meetings, but most of the communication was done through the project manager. We also had some conversations with the QA tester.

One thing that I appreciated about Cleveroad was that no matter how our ideas changed, we could contact them anytime. Our project manager reacted quickly and handled communication with the rest of the team, who implemented our changes.

Being based in Ukraine, we had a number of options for development partners. One of them happened to be Cleveroad. We made some research and found very positive reviews for their company.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Cleveroad in January 2016. The site was completed in March. We're planning to expand our content and functionality, so we will continue to work with Cleveroad.

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

I am more than satisfied with our website. The best feedback comes from the number of users who have used it. We are seeing daily increases with the help of Cleveroad's team.

During the development stage, our QA tester identified some bugs, but there haven't been any issues with the site since it was launched.

How did Cleveroad perform from a project management standpoint?

We used scrum methodology for the work with Cleveroad. They submitted reports every 2 weeks and it was easy to assess the work. We had a time-and-materials contract, so we could determine what we were paying for. Cleveroad did make a total cost estimate at the beginning of the project, which they stuck to.

What did you find most impressive about Cleveroad?

I enjoyed collaborating with Cleveroad. I was able to tell them what I needed at any time, and receive an answer immediately. Being reliable is very important for startups, given that we wanted to have a product on the market as soon as possible.

Are there any areas Cleveroad could improve?

Cleveroad stuck to every deadline, completed the project successfully, and gave us many new development ideas. I can't think of anything that Cleveroad could improve.

We are a shop for alpinists. I am a co-founder of the shop and also a member of an alpinism organization.

We wanted to expand our business and create a new direction. Also, we are alpinism lovers, so we want to help members of our community. So we’ve decided to create a service where users can save their time for purchases.

We’ve included the design, development of frontend and backend, testing, and bug fixing. They have developed all the parts of our app. We’ve given them the set of features and drafts of screens.

How did you come to work with Cleveroad?

We found the information about Cleveroad on their Facebook page, then got in touch with a manager using a chat on their site. The manager replied almost instantly. Then, there was a Skype call where we described our idea and discussed all the details. After that, we got an estimate for a MVP for the Android platform. Then the development began.

We have invested $10,000 for the MVP.

What is the status of this engagement?

The development of the MVP took 1.5 months. Today we are continuing the work. Our company has an idea to add new features and change some points before uploading to the Google Play market.

The app hasn’t been deployed yet, but the app is so attractive that we are sure it’ll be successful. Some members of our alpinism community got an opportunity to use the app, so we can say that the feedback from the first users is more than promising.

We like collaborating with the Cleveroad team. This is because we don’t have to wait for a response and know exactly when some work will be finished. They also created a beautiful application.

We are a small startup located in Poland which has developed an app that allows users to make bus reservations. It assists companies and educational institutions who are planning trips.

I am the founder and Chief Executive Officer of the company.

What business challenge were you trying to address with Cleveroad?

I needed help transforming my idea into an application. My idea was to transform public transportation in cities and towns in Poland, and then maybe other Eastern European locations. People have problems finding bus schedules and travelling from one town to the next reliably. I wanted to create an app similar to other public transportations on the market that would help commuters travel easier.

Cleveroad developed my app from scratch. Cleveroad suggested that iOS would be a faster platform to develop for, but I also plan to develop an Android version in the future.

How did you come to work with Cleveroad?

For me, the most important part of the work was design. I liked Cleveroad's work and contacted their sales manager as a result.

Could you provide a sense of the size of this initiative in financial terms?

The total development cost has been $17,000. It has been more than I initially expected, but the cost has been worth it.

What is the status of this engagement?

The development process took 4 months, which was a short timeline. The app is in the testing stage at the moment. I hope to launch it in the coming months.

Could you share any statistics or metrics from this engagement?

I have been satisfied with the product created by Cleveroad. I plan to make an Android version as well in the future.

We've had a small testing party with friends. The people who have seen the app gave me some great advice during testing. Cleveroad implemented everything that I asked for. I am a very picky person and will often decide on changes. Cleveroad listened to me and did everything that I wanted. The app works well and I'm sure that it will work in a real-world situation as well.

How did Cleveroad perform from a project management standpoint?

I have been especially satisfied with Cleveroad's communication. I am not a technical person, so I appreciated having every detail explained to me.

What distinguishes Cleveroad from other providers?

I'm glad that I met Cleveroad. I've heard many stories about companies that simply took money and didn't provide anything for it. For me, the most important part was the clarity and transparency of the collaboration. Every stage of the development was explained to me, taking me through the process. Cleveroad took my ideas and implemented them just like I wanted. The app is identical to my original vision for it.

It would be nice to have a lower price, but I understand that quality costs money.

I found Cleveroad through the internet. I reached out to them through their website and was contacted by a manager from Cleveroad. We had a Skype meeting discussing the project, and I received an estimate for it later on.

The total cost so far has been around $18,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We have been working with Cleveroad for about 3 months. Our iOS app is almost complete and we are planning to create an Android version. We're currently doing testing for it and fixing bugs. It is expected to finish at the end of 2016.

I am very satisfied with Cleveroad's work. I haven't received any feed-back for the app yet, because it's still in the final stage of development.

What business challenge were you trying to address with Cleveroad?

We needed help in developing a mobile application for our dating website in a short period. It needed to replicate most of the functionality of the site.

SOLUTION

Please describe the scope of their involvement in detail.

We've had a good partnership. Cleveroad delivered our app in due time, despite a tight deadline. They provided us with competent developers for the project. Their designers created mockups based on our requirements, which were used to develop a basic version of the app.

The app features video chat abilities as well as the ability to share pictures. It also has custom animated smilies created by their design team, based on our instructions. GIFs can be shared directly and a user can group friends based on their preference.

How did you come to work with Cleveroad?

We found their company through a Google search for Ukrainian developers. We contacted them through their website and received an estimate within two hours for a minimum viable product. We compared their quote to the ones received from other developers and found Cleveroad to be the best choice.

The total development cost for the first version of our app was around $12,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

The development took three months to complete. The first full version of our app will be completed within one or two week. We will continue to work on additional features based on customer feedback.

The results of Cleveroad's work are on par with what we expected. They developed good, high-level project documentation and, during the development process, they followed it closely. The results of their work were quite predictable and sound. The app looks just like the design.

We had a project manager assigned to our work. He was responsible for the entire process, creating tasks and controlling their implementation. It should be mentioned that their approach is very good. Cleveroad follows an agile approach and divides their work into sprints.

The planning for each sprint was implemented in time, and the general scope of work was handled according to plan.

Their pricing could be improved, but the quality of work is worth it.

Our mobile app enables the customer to leave a request, make their payment and upload our usability report.

Our app is a top priority for us because we want to increase customer loyalty to our service. In other words, our aim was to stand out in our business niche by providing a particular advantage. Our research indicated the development of an app would be the right solution.

How did you come to work with Cleveroad?

The selection of a mobile development company surprisingly didn’t take all that long. I came across Cleveroad on Facebook, checked their website and left a contact request. They called back almost immediately and truly left a positive first impression. I hesitated a bit making a quick decision because that’s not the way I want to run our business. But because Cleveroad offered an immediate estimate, I suggested we start with a minimum viable product. My doubts quickly vanished, and we set to work.

Could you share any statistics, metrics or other feedback concerning the results of this engagement?

The result of their two months of work satisfied us. We received the app on time, and it is currently being tested within our company. We are now making a list of new app features that we are going to implement next, of course with the help of Cleveroad.

Cleveroad took ownership of our idea with enthusiasm and proposed an app design, which we loved. Then they developed an Android MVP. I was especially impressed with the professionalism of their account manager.

BACKGROUND

I'm a cofounder of a medical startup. We are a veterinary health startup with five employees. We are just beginning our business and started our company in Tel Aviv, Israel.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

Our initial goal was to find a company to create an application of online veterinary consultations. We wanted to start with giving care tips to concerned pet owners, and then the idea was to perform as a link between vet clinics and pet owners.

SOLUTION

As we weren't sure how to develop an app and the entire process was just a mystery, we were looking for a company that could provide us with their vision and constructive advice. I did an online Google search and came across Cleveroad. I liked their sales presentation and was convinced to hire them by the first phone call.

The only thing we had before development was a company logo, so we expected the app design to reflect the logo style. Looking for a company to carry everything out, I was literally lucky to run into the Cleveroad ad. It seemed to be a match made in heaven.

The best thing was that they made a concrete and affordable proposal. During our first meeting, having studied my requirements, they suggested a few possible solutions. We agreed to start with an MVP [minimum viable product]. As for the terms, it was to be delivered in two months.

I found it comfortable to work with Cleveroad.  We gave them freedom to act at their discretion, but they kept us involved in the process.

We got our working product ready without any delays. However, we haven't launched the app to the market as there some issues of interaction with local veterinary clinics.

I believe our partnership with Cleveroad hasn't ended as we have much work to do. I am satisfied with what Cleveroad provided: great interface design, an easy-to-use app and, most importantly, flexible app logic that enables us to add new features and improve app performance.

It was an internal system for this law firm, for the document management and for their client management as well. It was the first project of this kind that we had with this company. If there were any challenges, Cleveroad coped with them well.

In general, we have used Microsoft Web servers for this project and ASP .NET technology. The design was done using AngularJS.

I had some colleagues that had worked with them. I didn't know much about them before.

I think it was around $30,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

The whole process took about six months, and the work is completed.

I can tell you that the client is satisfied with the work Cleveroad did. They are a successful law firm, so this management system has helped them to increase their profits. They also have better communication with their clients. From this point of view, the project has been a great success.

How did Cleveroad perform from a project management standpoint?

I think they were great. Sometimes when you work with an outsource company from another country, it's hard to find people who speak great English and have all the necessary communication skills to understand your requirements and the situation that you're working with, along with the details of the project. There are probably different systems in the US than in Ukraine. So I think Cleveroad did very well with getting to know the requirements that we had.

What distinguishes Cleveroad from other providers?

I think they are quality people, and I'm thinking about working with them again on a different project.

I'm not sure. I didn't have any problems with their work.

We're not a big company, so we just made an application and are a startup. This application involves a social media network that is popular with Russian speakers in Russia and Ukraine. The aim of the application was to make searching for social groups very easy and organize groups.

They built an application for us. It's an Android application. It's a very popular app with various Russian speakers involving social media.

I found them a couple of years ago because they also are based in Ukraine and can work well with the Russian language.

Could you provide a sense of the size of this initiative in financial terms?

For the Ukrainian market, it is in the average cost range. We received great value for the money because the application was highly functional with no major bugs.

What is the status of this engagement?

The application was launched about two years ago. We probably need to work with them again soon to get a new version developed for the latest Android system.

Could you share any statistics or metrics from this engagement?

It was our only project with Cleveroad, but we are happy with our choice because it was a successful project. This project was highly successful because we profited a lot and still remain close friends with the Cleveroad team. I was happy to do a review for them because of the help they provided.

They really know Android and the Ukraine and Russian markets.

Is there anything Cleveroad could have improved or done differently?

It would have been better if they anticipated changes in the Android system more. So, probably, we will update the application for the new operating system. In general, everything is OK and we are happy.
