CitrusLeaf provided us with 2 Node & 1 Flutter developer to augment our in-house development team. While we handled the core features, they were responsible to add new features on top of our releases. They created APIs on the collection feature and served it for the flutter app. The APIs were automated for testing.

With ready-to-join and skilled resources we reduced the time to market and saved money on the hiring process and waiting time for resource joining.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The developers took the job from day one and started pushing features within a week's time. We were able to track the progress via JIRA and assign tasks over it. The daily stand-ups and EOD status helped us to track progress effectively.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The developers had expertise in the required field and finished assigned tasks with proper code structure. Also, they were proactive in communication and even gave some great suggestions during the implementation of the project.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

We couldn't find any issues with the work. The developers quickly became the part of the team and started work without any need of guidance.

Several businesses are going online and we wanted to create an eCommerce business website and it's very own mobile application that will work on both Android and iOS. Since we had limited resources, we opted for Flutter and the platform surprised us as it gave us transparency that we needed to achieve this project. CitrusLeaf Software used Nodejs and Vuejs to create the backend and frontend of the website. For mobile applications, they used Flutter.

This project was all about creating a link between the merchants and customers including great discount deals. Where a customer can save their money using the discount coupon on a particular product or service while we are being paid a commissioning amount from the merchant. I wanted different sections for every product or service category.

I must say that the outcomes of the project were amazing. The application was well designed according to the requirements. It helped me in launching my idea in a very good way. They embedded all the features in a single application.

Honestly speaking, I was not sure whether these complexities can be developed but they helped me achieve the milestone. Also, they suggested me to remove a few features along with good reasoning.

Initially, there was some misunderstanding about the project functionalities because of some uneven communication between us. Later, the team maintained proper communication to ignore any disrupt in the project progress.

I am impressed by the transparency that they followed during the overall project development. When I asked them about the tech-stack, they shared every relevant detail with me.

They discussed each app’s functionality with me before development. I was confused about the designing part of the app but they helped me through it and provided with great designing ideas. Almost every milestone was delivered almost on time.

I guess apart from the communication gap there is nothing negative about the company’s work system. I had a delightful experience with Citrusleaf team and the way they handled my project. Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The results have been great so far. They did manage to wrap a good amount of functionality into a good looking and very usable app. Previously it was hard for our sales team to work on the CRM using the web interface but they find it very easy to manage their leads in their territories. Overall, I'd say the target was achieved rather pleasantly.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The workflow was rather uneven in the beginning as with every project because of changing requirements and communication issues but they were easily sorted out once we got along in a few days of time.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The most impressive things were the way they explained technical things and suggested better solutions to what I had in my mind. They also introduced us to Flutter which no other company did. I'd say it was a win for me us as it saved both my cost and time.

Are there any areas for improvement?

They could improve on the communication and management part a bit. However, nothing was a deal breaker though.

I had an initial call with Amrit. I explained the project in detail. He asked me a few questions and he had understood the scope of the project on a 15-minute call. He gave us a quotation that was quite lower than the market.

His professionalism and smarts could be sensed during that short of a time. And he promised a delivery time of 3 months, which again, was very fast compared to the market. So, without giving it a second thought, we chose to go with Citrusleaf.

We required a front-end for the customers with the account, authentication and a wallet system. We wanted, on the back-end accounts for the senior management, middle management and executives. We wanted the leave and incentive management for the executives and invoicing of the freelancers to be integrated into the back-end.

There was a knowledge base to be designed as well. The biggest and the most important thing for us was workflow automation development. We wanted automatic allocation of a new order based on multiple complex criteria. We had provided them with wireframes and functionalities required.

They provided us with some great graphics and logo designs for the front-end. They also provided us with a lot of suggestions on the functionalities that we had missed out.

We had been assigned one project manager, one developer and one quality specialist.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

Ah! The tremendous amount of costs that we'd save in the years to come as a direct result of the work-flow automation solution CitrusLeaf has developed for us.

The design of the front-end landing pages has helped us achieve a high landing page experience in Google AdWords which again helps us save on our marketing costs. In general, there is a lesser need for intervention when it comes to the day to day operations of our business.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

We had agreed on milestones. Wherein functionalities of the web-app were to be developed in a phased manner. The project manager and I would touch base a few times a week to understand the progress and come up with solutions to any challenges that remained. One communication channel was established so that everyone involved would stay on the same page throughout.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The turnaround times offered by them. The project was vast. They managed to deliver the entire project in about 60-70% of the time. average time taken by the market without compromising the quality.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Yes! There were a couple of minor inconsistency issues like different date, name formats on different pages. Nothing major. I think a tiny bit more attention to detail would help. Also, if they could take an extra step in providing a customized on-page SEO set up instead of the basic one, it would have been lovely. But, all in all, highly recommended for quality work in a short time and low cost.

Communication was primarily via Skype and email, which worked well for me. All deadlines were met, and there were never any issues. They provided a constant stream of revisions and updates. I always felt Amrit listened and responded quickly to my requests.

What challenge were you trying to address with CitrusLeaf Software?

To convert our existing stickers app into an e-commerce app.

After analyzing multiple paths to promote our brand, we decided to go with a WhatsApp stickers app. The idea is quite unique and since we've customized designs for our target audience, it turned out to be a great fit. We saw a manifold increase in conversions through this channel. After sometime, we decided to convert the stickers app into an e commerce andorid app to let our customers purchase directly from the app.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We already had a design on papers so the discussion was rather quick. We were also targeting only Android users for now so that further reduced the overall timeline of the project. There were some issues with the limitations of Flutter and CitrusLeaf were very upfront about them. So we decided to remove some features. Apart from some minor hiccups, the overall process was smooth.

Our overall experience working with CitrusLeaf is very positive. With prompt replies and detailed explanations, the team has been very responsive throughout the project. There were minor issues with communication initiall but those were mitigated quickly. The overall coordination was easy and everyone on their team were approchable.
