The scope included backend architecture setup, third-party data integration, caching strategies, authentication layers, and full API documentation, all following industry best practices for performance and maintainability.

Throughout the work, numerous updates and revisions were made to the website to enhance user experience and SEO. Specifically, the functionality for updating prices was improved, SEO plugin issues were fixed, and new elements such as fonts and blocks were added to the pages. Efforts were also focused on optimizing the checkout and cart processes, including input validation and addressing payment and delivery errors.

Work was done on refining the API integration, including improving product display on the website, enhancing filtering and sorting features, and optimizing the functionality of recommended products in the cart. Additionally, significant improvements were made to the category and article display, as well as mobile version adaptations.

Changes were also made to the blog structure, creating new features to improve navigation and article reading, such as "show more" buttons, and optimizing reading time. SEO work included editing titles, descriptions, and URL settings to improve the website's visibility in search engines.

I’m an app developer.

What challenge were you trying to address with StarApps?

I needed someone to develop a mobile app for me called SpeakPro.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They’re developing a mobile app for Android and iOS. The Android version is live. The iOS is still being worked on. 

It’s a voice calling and chatting app. I put 98 different language buttons on it. Users just scroll through buttons and tap on their preferred language. They will be connected with other users that tapped on the same language. It connects strangers who want to chat. 

I made a PDF document of all the requirements, features, functionalities, buttons, and appearances, and they started working on it. 

What is the team composition?

I was in contact with the project manager.

How did you come to work with StarApps?

I found them on Upwork. They’re in Ukraine, and I’m in the U.S. U.S. developers are expensive, so I looked for someone cheaper. They speak Russian, as do I.

I’ve spent about $2,500.

We started working together in May 2020, and our relationship is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The Android app was quickly developed and easy to publish on Google Play. The app looks professional. 

It’s not easy to get an app published on the App Store. They have a lot of requirements. We’d submit, and they’d return and reject it. We also ran into some delays because I was sick with COVID-19 for several months. That’s why it took a long time and why the iOS version isn’t live yet. 

How did StarApps perform from a project management standpoint?

I communicated with the project manager through Upwork. Once I trusted them, we moved to Skype for calls and chat.  Every time they completed a milestone, I’d test the app and give my feedback. We’re always in contact back and forth. Communication was straightforward.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re true professionals who know what they’re doing. They listen to my needs. They try to do their best to meet and exceed my expectations. They don’t hesitate to help out and share their ideas and experiences. Customer satisfaction is their priority. They never rushed to get my money. They wanted to make sure I was happy first.

Go ahead and give them a chance. They know what they’re doing. Their top priority is the quality of their work and customer satisfaction.

They’ve developed a systems integration app for a customer of ours. It enables the user to check if a list is right and working, through an application from their iPhone or iPad. The application communicates with the SAP.

The customers say the apps work really well and that the team did a good quality job. I’m completely satisfied with the work. Overall, they have the skills we need, and our experience with them is very successful.

We have a project lead on our side who works with their project lead and they coordinate very well. The work is always done on time. We visit each other, and we also often work remotely. Next week, their Ukraine team is coming to us in Germany.

It was truly an awesome experience working with Taras.
