Cocologics is a pioneer and innovator in the field of mobile photography and best known for its flagship iOS app ProCamera. I am part of the team as communications manager since 2015.

We chose App Radar back in 2020 because they offered the full service we were looking for: a sophisticated data center for App Store metrics, multi-lingual experts, many years of experience and a flexible pricing model. The partnership is still going strong, so we made the right decision back then!

The continuous service they provide to us can be broken down into two categories: ASO + ASA. This means optimizing our App Store page (most importantly: App Store keywords) in various locals + managing our Apple Search Ads account where they intelligently search for and bid on the most relevant keywords (Paid Search).

From the beginning of the project, we worked closely with the Director App Marketing Services. For both ASA and ASO we have personal account managers who work with us on a very regular basis, including monthly online meetings and constant exchange via Slack.

We have seen a noticeable increase in app sales which can be directly linked to better App Store rankings on multiple continents. We are very pleased with the constant monitoring of rankings, paid search and the focus on key performance indicators. It's a data driven optimization so we see again and again that the budgets are spent smartly.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

It's a very effective workflow that has proven to be just right for us in the last two and a half years. By having scheduled, monthly meetings that are based on detailed presentations as well as the opportunity for direct communication via Slack every day of the week, we feel like we are in very good hands.

Their network of experts worldwide, which allows them to provide tailored services, has stood out in the workflow. (e.g. native speakers for linguistic and cultural feedback in Asian markets).

When we asked about switching to certain platforms they could always meet our requests.

Our costs per sign-up and active users are great, which are the two main KPIs of the project — we’ve decreased our costs by more than 50%, which enables us to invest in other areas.

They always meet our deadlines and budgets. In addition, they’re very responsive — we use Slack as our main communication tool. We also have weekly calls to review the numbers and what we want to do next.

Generally excellent. Any issues were professionally resolved, and we continue to work with them today.

Willing to deal with startups and the quality of work has been excellent. As always, good communication is required to ensure a good working relationship.

Some additional education and explanation of thought behind the process would be helpful. Also, more engagement to help solve peripheral issues, such as 3rd party tracking solutions, etc. Overall, a minor complaint.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We implemented all the texts suggested by App Radar, however, the update collided with the reduction of paid traffic. Therefore, we did not notice any noticeable effects on organic. Nevertheless, we were satisfied with the quality of the metadata.

App Radar met all the deadlines, we communicated via Slack and also held monthly meetings.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

We were satisfied with App Radar's team professionalism and expertise. We were especially happy that our app page now looks more "native" to German speakers.

The only thing I would like to mention is presentations: there was too many texts on the slides, so it was hard to look through all of it in the course of a live call :)
