Instead of trying to patch the existing system, Acquaint proposed a more forward-looking structure. They designed a headless commerce setup, where the frontend and backend were decoupled.

On the frontend side, they built a Progressive Web App using React. This made a noticeable difference immediately, pages loaded quickly even when browsing heavy product categories like architectural lighting collections.

On the backend, they developed a Node-based API layer that handled:

Product catalog management with flexible attributes (important for lighting specs).
Campaign logic (bundles, discounts, promotional rules).
Integration with our ERP and inventory systems.
Marketplace synchronization.

They also introduced structured workflows for product updates, which meant our internal team could manage listings without worrying about breaking something.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

One of the most noticeable changes came from our internal team before even customers mentioned it. Product pages that used to take time to load became instant, especially on mobile devices.

During one of our seasonal promotions, we typically had issues with stock mismatches between online and in-store inventory. This time, the system held up. Orders were processed smoothly without the usual manual corrections afterward.

Customer behavior also shifted, users were browsing more categories in a single session, which wasn’t common before. That told us the experience had become more intuitive.
