we were ready to launch on time with happy teams and clients! What more could you ask for?

Very effective. We used multiple channels such as discord, email and zoom and while there was a time difference, it didn't impact the project our communication.

Their work ethic and overall quality impressed us, but they were just fantastic overall to work with. Friendly, smart, and understood what we wanted to accomplish.

What challenge were you trying to address with 4experience?

We were looking for help with our VR app, which is an educational piece for the use of marketing and advertising an industrial project.

What was the scope of their involvement?

4experience assisted in developing our VR app, which is Oculus-based. Their team provided 3D assets for the VR experience and providing coding and development services, working in Unity, Autocad, and more. The app allows the user to shrink down and go inside a cell, so it’s pretty high-concept.

I provided them with UI/UX designs that I had mapped out with the client and concept art. They worked with me to develop three rough models based on the client’s guidelines. From there, they offered their perspective on how to heighten the experience and more effectively deliver on what the client wanted.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Our client was happy and so were we. This project was a big challenge because we were creating something that hadn’t been done before. 4experience did a really good job executing on that idea. The experience was put on display at conventions for those with a general technical background.

4experience is communicative and awesome at project management. The team proposed regular status calls without me having to push them to do so. 4experience always takes initiative, offering creative and logistical solutions. They’re adaptable and worked to make the product more effective.

Industrial Research Institute for Automation and Measurements PIAP was established in 1965 as a national institute, which basic task was preparing and implementing new technologies, utomation systems, production facilities and specialist measuring equipment in various branches of industry including special mobile robots application solds more than 18 country all over the world.

Nearly fifty years of our close cooperation with industry brought about a number of newly developed products and significant implementations. My professional and scientific activities focus on two main areas:

• Additive manufacturing technologies targeted at the needs of demanding industrial applications
• Mobile robotics targeted at work in harsh environments that are hazardous to human health and life, including potentially explosive areas.

For what projects/services did your company hire 4Experience?

We wanted a better way to demonstrate top-notch quality of our 3D printers. Massive, heavy components are often bulky to carry and might cause some disturbance to people nearby while in use.

It is also hard to visualize its true dimensions without asking the buyer to go directly into the company's facilities. The challenge here was to precisely reproduce the printer’s mode of operation by creating animations of the entire process (e.g. opening of some elements).

What were your goals for this project?

We needed a fully portable mobile app, that would be useful not only for the company’s representatives but also for customers wishing to familiarize themselves with the 3D printer offered by PIAP.

The basic idea was to show the visitors how a 3D printer device works. The goal was to provide the option to see the inside of the device.

How did you select this vendor?

4Experience was referred to us. We were looking for someone experienced, who offers high-quality products for competitive prices.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

The application uses surface scanning technology to generate a 3D printer model in the scanned area. The user can approach the device, look closely at the printing process, press virtual buttons and watch an animation of the printer in operation.

Although the user has no influence on the animation itself, it is possible to view the components of the device from the inside. Basically, the app is able to show everything that should be included in the technical and operational documentation of specialist equipment.

I was responsible for managing the work as a Product Owner. At the vendor side, there was a PM, a Unity 3D developer, and a graphic artist.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

The project served as a pilot for the implementation of new AR, VR and MR technologies in our innovative products, designed in accordance with industry 4.0 convention.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

We worked with a project manager. 4Experience’s team used the Scrum agile framework combined with regular stand-ups. During our weekly calls, we would go over and review progress. They also organized regular feedback sessions, as a result of which there were constant improvements being made to the project.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The dynamics in the operation of the 4Experience team was important for us, both at the stage of application development as well as its implementation and technical support.

They are always available and extremely knowledgeable in the field of AR/VR development. Our company was on a tight timeline and strict budget to create a mobile app and 4Experience was the perfect partner. We would like to have an innovative VR solution to show our office and culture to both people applying to Selleo and our prospects. At that time we have observed that the client was much more prone to select us in his tendering process if he had the chance to visit us and see the company for himself. We have thus decided that we want to give that ability to all prospects that visit our website by incorporating a 360-degree virtual tour of our offices.

What were your goals for this project?

Our goal was to provide the opportunity to have a glimpse of the experience on how it is to work in Selleo. We wanted to show our environments and the people that deliver the service. An important part of the project was to incorporate the videos of us performing our typical daily activities on the clients we serve. We wanted to have a web version of the project for our clients and a Gear VR version to use during career fairs.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We perceived the solution to be based on virtual reality and we needed the provider to perform all the image acquisition on-site so we selected a local company for convenience.

The project was to design and acquire all the images and video shoots onsite and convert them to interactive 360 panoramas and videos. The videos included a pre-recorded lector who was guiding the user through the experience. The final experience was delivered in two variants: the first one was embedded on our website and the second one was playable on Gear VR devices which we used during events targeted at potential candidates for future employees.

I was responsible for managing the work as a Product Owner. At the vendor side, there was a PM, photographer, web developer, Unity 3D developer, and a graphic artist.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

We have been using the virtual tour ever since during our sales process but also a few of our prospects mentioned that they are impressed by our offices and the daily routines we have presented even though they have only visited us virtually. As it comes to employee-related events our VR glasses are always a way to stand out and a fun experience that gives a glimpse of what it is like to work at our company. We got the EBStars Recognition for Best Digital Action at the 7th edition of the Employer Branding Stars.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

The photoshoot was professionally organized and took two days including the filming of the daily routines. At first together with their project manager we created a scenario and planned most of the activities involved.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I know that at that time their VR technology was in the infancy and yet the vendor already an impressive portfolio of realizations. They had excellent knowledge of their domain.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Delivering the final product required some additional back and forth as some of the initial requirements changed during the production.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Happy clients, great press, great engagement from users. AR definitely has that novelty factor where everyone's drawn to it.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Really good. We met daily and had a very good experience working with them. As I said, they are very nice people to work with.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They are a specialty shop. Focus on one thing and being really good at it. This can give you a lot of confidence that they can do the job. Also the people are very enjoyable to work with. Labor in the European Union is not the cheapest, but it's very close to your experience with a US team at still a significant discount. They care a lot about their clients and put in a lot of hours to make deadlines work. It really shows when you have a team who cares.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Level of effort estimations could be improved.

We are a software company developing solutions for elderly people based on AI. Our product is under research and development, so it's not on the market. I am the CFO of the company.

How did you select this vendor?

We found 4Experience on Upwork, and after an interview the team seemed very talented and understood our needs very quickly. We were reviewing eight different freelancers/companies. My main developer and I were involved in the selection process.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

They created a scene on Unity, (like a flat with a bathroom) and the program placed a person randomly in the room. The person could either fall, sit on a chair, or lay down on the bed. On the top of that, they built a console application in C# so we can generate thousands of falling videos quickly. The console program allowed us to modify some environment variable (light, speed) The expected result is a video of the scene.

We used to talk to a project manager, and two/three engineers were working on 3D and programming.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

We are on our way to improve the falling recognition system, and with the work from 4Experience we are able to train a system that understands a human fall by just showing video.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

The project manager took our needs, and we used Trello to set up all the tasks. It was quite efficient.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their capacity for understanding our needs quite well and finding the right solution for a very reasonable price was great. They were very reactive to our feedback and answers.

I don't have any improvement in mind. They are very impressive.

We're the Polish branch of an international parcel delivery company and operate mainly in the express road-based market. We strive for a more personal approach to delivery. We needed a developer to help with parcel-sorting-line visualization design, VR simulation development, and animation.

What were your goals for this project?

There were three areas that required the team’s attention. First, we needed a way to teach our new employees how to pick up parcels from a semi-trailer and place them on a sorter properly and efficiently. Our aim was to teach our employees how to spot parcels of irregular shapes and sizes pre-emptively. Second, we wanted to teach sorting line workers how to properly pick up parcels from the conveyor belt to transfer them onto a perpendicular belt. Third, we needed to teach our employees how to transfer the parcels from the sorter to the semi-trailer. Our aim was to teach them how to optimally stack the parcels on the semi-trailer.

Can you go into detail about the services they provided and the scope of the project?

4Experience developed three apps for the HTC Vive, which simulate a workstation with specific directions and locations. In the first app, their team configured the "conveyor belt to perpendicular belt" training simulator with three different speeds for the three different stages of training. In the second app, their developers configured the "semi-trailer to the telescopic sorter" training simulator with features that only allow parcels of a certain size and shape to be placed. They also created a special bucket for all irregular and untypical parcels and parcels longer than 150 cm inside the simulation. They programmed a report generator at the end of each stage with the number of mistakes made and a confirmation if they can proceed to the next stage. They also implemented an aggregated report generator that shows the number of parcels that have been sent incorrectly and on the number of parcels that have been passed through.

The team consisted of one graphic designer and two Unreal Engine programmers.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

4Experience's training solution was incredibly versatile. We fully implemented the apps in our organization, constructed a special training room for them, and planned follow-up VR training sessions. We used the apps not only for training but for recruitment purposes.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

4Experience did a magnificent managing our needs and expectations. Their workflow was exceptional. Although the project grew as it progressed, 4Experience demonstrated an incredible ability to pack a lot of quality features in a rather narrow time frame.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The quality of the apps was outstanding. The team modeled every single detail with such accuracy that the simulations feel lifelike. They were always supportive and understanding, even with the large scope of work we entrusted them with.

The project took more time to complete than we initially expected. However, their team warned us about that in the beginning.

Using our technical documentation, they created sealing models and animations. The 4Experience team designed an entire room displaying our products using Unity 3D, Gear VR, and HTC Vive technologies. Their team made sure users could freely move around the room and preview all the products. They also configured our products to be interactive—allowing users to scale, calibrate, manipulate, rotate, and take them apart. 4Experience also added animations, technical details of our products, and background music.

In order to optimize the applications, our more complex models were put in a second virtual reality (VR) room. Their team created this room to allow users to see what operations are performed when assembling a particular sealing model (welding).

The team included graphic designers, who were responsible for object modeling and preparing the VR environment. It also included a lead developer, who was responsible for coding and preparing the apps.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

The software and apps prepared by 4Experience are heavily used by our marketing department and our resellers. They reported to us that the technology allows them to present our products and principles of operation in an easy, entertaining, and accurate way. Because the size of the seals makes them difficult to transport in larger quantities, the apps came in handy by facilitating the presentation of our products. Apart from the visual impact, they also easily convened basic information to our clients. The modern designs they produced display an innovative image of our company.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

The team showed an exceptional level of professionalism and was open to all our challenges. They worked flawlessly according to a tight schedule and provided us with assistance at every stage of development. 4Experience delivered subsequent software builds every Thursday. On Fridays, the team held a meeting with us in order to review the current version of the software and apps.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

We were delighted with the team’s approach to our challenges. Their meticulous 3D modeling and attention to even the slightest details made a great impression on us. The way our products came to life in their software was nothing short of astonishing.

Can you go into detail about the services they provided and the scope of the project?

They helped plan the app, an employee training tool for banks, and developed multiple demos. The app was developed in Unity for SamsungGear VR, and allowed trainees to interact with six personality types, asking them questions to determine which of the six products was the right one for them. The app went through multiple demos during development.

We had a project manager, but we also worked with a developer and a 3D-designer, as well as character designers and animators.

We continued working on the project with the end-client, and they were very impressed with the results.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

They demonstrated an exceptional level of expertise. The entire project was completed according to a well implemented Scrum method. None of our questions were left without answers, and the team was very specific as to the scope of work. There were daily stand-ups, as well as reviews prepared on a regular basis. They provided demos periodically showing the current state of play.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They are extremely knowledgeable about VR. They’re also very responsive to inquiries and turn around budgets for us very quickly. We can clearly rely on them.

1. After a number of releses during 2022 we had a lot of problems with the software. The first half of 2023 was dedicated to correct and stabilise the system.
2. Update of programme enviroment to newer version during Q4 of 2023.

They have a clear hierarchy and division of tasks and positions. Each member has a high level of expertise in their respective areas. Provisional delivery times were not met. Overall, response times were good over the year.

They have expertise in a large part of the IT industry.

Are there any areas for improvement or something 4Experience could have done differently?

Since there are cultural differences between Poland and Sweden, it can be good not to take too many references from Poland on, for example, the design of furniture etc. The difference in technical knowledge between us as a customer and your technicians is sometimes too big, which means that we do not understand what is said or written. It is important that we understand each other in order to produce a good result.
