We don’t just build brands that look good. We build brands that work well.
3 Owl is a technology-centered branding agency serving those with bright visions and bold ambitions. We build data-driven creative solutions that adapt to clients changing needs and support transformational growth. We proudly call Atlanta home as our clients take us around the world.
Strategy
Successful brands start by pinpointing not just who you are as an organization, but why your business exists. This is why strategic thinking and planning is always the first step in our process. We research and establish the truths that make up the core of your business, hone in on the correct target audience, and determine the “why” before we create any “whats”.
Visual Identity
We’re here to help build an emotional connection between brands and consumers, and that means more than just a pretty logo. (Don’t worry, you’ll get one of those too). Our iterative process stays strategically sound and based in research so our time creating is spent efficiently and results in unique and scalable identities.
Language and Communication
Beautiful brands simply work better when language is held to the same high standards of creativity. We establish distinctive voices for our brands based on the same research from which we design to create an entire ecosystem which can be applied across all touchpoints.
Fully Custom Web Development
We build fully customized websites and digital experiences. Proper tech makes for better brands.
No project is “one size fits all”. We build a shared project understanding by assessing all existing technologies from content management system down to hosting configuration. Once we understand your technology systems, we’ll build a flexible content management system to ensure your site is flexible and scalable (and of course, easy for you to update).

BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the director of JumpSpark, Atlanta’s Jewish teen initiative. We’re part of the Jewish Education and Engagement Funder Collaborative and an innovation initiative of the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta.
We serve teens, parents of teens, youth-serving professionals, and give out grants in Atlanta's Jewish teen space.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with 3 Owl?
My first day on the job was spent in the 3 Owl office. We’re a grant-funded operation, and we worked with them to build a brand from the ground up.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
3 Owl helped with a variety of branding services to showcase who we are as an organization. They named our organization, designed a logo and collateral, built our WordPress website, and manage social media. They created a voice and tone guide for us while selecting our brand colors. At first, we worked with them closely to create social media content and templates and grow our audience. We were able to take those tools and use them ourselves.
What is the team composition?
We’ve worked with at least five people, including David (Director of Strategy), a copywriter, and their design team.
How did you come to work with 3 Owl?
That predates me, but the initial executive director did some research, and 3 Owl’s name came up. They came highly recommended. They’ve also worked with a lot of Jewish organizations within the community.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent between $60,000–$100,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
Our first meeting with them was in August 2017. We’re in the middle of a website refresh with them.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
As our brand has evolved, 3 Owl continues to work with us. I felt that 3 Owl understood the marketplace we were coming from in Atlanta. They did a lot of research, remaining intentional throughout their processes. They’ve been there with us from the very beginning.
Everything we’ve accomplished has been because they’ve given us such a strong foundation and branding. Our website has actually won awards because their team built such a beautiful website. Our social media reach is amazing across multiple platforms. We’re part of a collective, and our social media presence is stronger than anyone else’s. We’ve actually brought them in to speak to other organizations.
In our data, 50% of parents say that they know about opportunities for their teens because of our presence on social media. I attribute a lot of that to our strong branding and marketing foundation.
How did 3 Owl perform from a project management standpoint?
We’ve always been in total communication constantly throughout the various projects we’ve worked on. When we were building the website, we used Asana. Some of the smaller projects have been handled over email. We’re always kept in the loop with every step.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They’re amazing. David cares deeply about the work that he does. I don’t even have a sense of how many clients they have because I feel that he is dedicated to us. Whenever I talk to him, I feel like he knows what’s going on with us. It’s a very personal and warm engagement. We feel very cared for.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I don’t have anything but positive things to say about them. It’s been wonderful.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
I have been in meetings where I just talk and talk, and they really listen. They’re able to bring that down into website copy or language. Clients need to be honest about who they are and what they’re trying to accomplish. The more you let them into your process, the more helpful they can be.

3 Owl provided rebranding and web development services for a music festival organization. They ideated the partner's new name, developed a new website, and created visual collateral such as logos and icons.
The partner is happy with the deliverables and feels that they achieved the desired vision. 3 Owl met every deadline and maintained regular, effective communication. Their team had a custom approach and worked collaboratively with the partner to produce the best results.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited
transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the executive director of Neranenah. We were formerly the Atlanta Jewish Music Festival.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with 3 Owl?
When I came on, I knew the name Atlanta Jewish music Festival wasn’t the right name for what we do. We brought 3 Owl on to help with our rebrand.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
It was difficult to find the right name for what we were looking for. 3 Owl helped us change our name to Neranenah, which means let’s come together and sing in Hebrew. Additionally, they handled the visual look of our new brand. The objective was to have a fun, cool, and classy look and feel.
At the beginning of the engagement, our board met with 3 Owl and we just talked. They asked us questions for five hours in order to get a feel for where were wanted to go. It was almost like a strategic planning session. 3 Owl took all the information from that day and put it into a 100+ page document. They sent it back to us to approve and came up with the first round of names. It took about 2–3 rounds to nail it. But once we got it, we had it.
Their team created our new WordPress website from scratch as well as provided a brand style guide, logos, and icons. They designed our social media profiles and gave us sponsorship material.
What is the team composition?
We worked with five staff members during the board retreat. However, during the rest of the engagement, we worked closely with two staff members including David (CEO) and Brandon (Creative Director).
How did you come to work with 3 Owl?
I’ve known David for a while. We do some work with another organization that he’s on the board for. I’ve always liked their work. I interviewed a lot of agencies and gave all their presentations to our board. We all agreed that 3 Owl was definitely the one.
How much have you invested with them?
We invested around $60,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
The engagement was from November 2019–September 2020.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
I had a vision in mind but wasn’t really sure if it was attainable or realistic. 3 Owl helped me realize it was both; they really nailed both the rebranded name and look all while encompassing that vision.
How did 3 Owl perform from a project management standpoint?
They were great. I have nothing negative to say. They met all deadlines and were very communicative. We mostly corresponded through email and met weekly.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They’re very creative, thoughtful, and flexible; 3 Owl thinks outside of the box. They stand apart from their competitors because their approach was to work together with us to find the right name; not just tell us our new name.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, I can’t think of anything. I was satisfied.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Be honest and upfront about what you’re looking for, and they’ll make it happen.

3 Owl provides branding services for a philanthropic organization. They help to improve the client's brand language and communication. They have also worked on their mission, vision, and core value messages.
Stakeholders of the organization express confidence in the team's output. 3 Owl has built a strong relationship with the client by paying attention to their interests and executing the project creatively. Impressed with their work, the client plans to use the team's services again in the future.
The client submitted this review online.
BACKGROUND
Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the Innovation Manager at Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta, our community's philanthropic champion.
We support dozens of partner agencies to ensure a more dynamic and thriving Jewish Atlanta. The Innovation team, which is a small yet mighty team of 2, focuses on new Jewish ideas (1-3 yrs old) and the visionaries who bring them to life.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
For what projects/services did your company hire 3 Owl?
3 Owl helped us improve our brand language for internal and external uses. Innovation can be tough to define and sometimes tougher to value. With 3 Owl's expert guidance, we tweaked our team's mission, vision and core value pillars.
What were your goals for this project?
We yearned for brand language that would support team Inno's messaging that is often communicated by colleagues on our Philanthropy team. We also wanted to make progress on our external talking points so our staff and lay leaders feel comfortable speaking about our impact throughout their networks.
SOLUTION
How did you select 3 Owl?
We have extensive experience with 3 Owl, which has become Jewish Atlanta's most desirable agency. Most recently, 3 Owl helped develop the JumpSpark brand, the Neranenah rebirth (formerly AJMF), and the debut of Helen Marie Stern Memorial Fund's public-facing presence.
We are fond of David's leadership and knew 3 Owl would provide high-quality service and deliverables we expected with this process.
Describe the scope of their work in detail.
3 Owls branding support addressed Federation Innovation's mission, vision, core pillar values, elevator pitch, and voice/tone guide.
What was the team composition?
We worked with David and Brandon throughout the duration of the project.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We recently wrapped this project so it's a bit too soon to judge lasting success. However, I and my Inno colleague Jori are thrilled with the work completed and believe we are poised to more effectively speak about our impact both internally and externally. We will continue to utilize 3 Owl's bevy of services for future needs.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Workflow pace was acceptable. We had some slowdowns during the Jewish High Holydays which were expected. We also had to stop and start at points during the process to engage and incorporate feedback from colleagues. This was anticipated as well.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
I am truly impressed with the authentic relationships 3 Owl has developed in the community and how attentive they are to various stakeholder interests. In one view, this is a few month projects in service to a two-person team (think small scale).
Looked at from a different vantage point, this is an inflection point for an investment team that allocates hundreds of thousands of dollars annually to uplift a thriving niche community (less of a small scale project). Executing this project took nuance, creativity, and care. I'm not sure every agency can claim those characteristics.
Are there any areas for improvement?
I am having trouble identifying an area for improvement.

3 Owl came into the picture to refurbish a parenting resources store's existing website, make it more secure and reliable. They used WordPress and WooCommerce to rebuild the site and added new features to it.
3 Owl's delivery resulted in a 500% increase in sales over the client's one-day sales record. As a team, they performed like an extension of the partner's in-house team, rather than an external one. They were quick and reliable, but they stayed on budget and provided estimates ahead of time.
The client submitted this review online.
BACKGROUND
Please describe your company and your position there.
We provide parenting resources for birth through toddlerhood. We have several products, a consultant network and extensive knowledge center.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
For what projects/services did your company hire 3 Owl, and what were your goals?
Our old website was a mess of plug-ins, workarounds and outdated technology. From a user experience perspective it was slow, confusing and hard to read. From an ownership perspective, it was cumbersome to manage, prone to cyber attacks and unable to support the analytics reporting that we needed.
We needed a website that aligned with our mission -- to simplify parenting by cutting out the noise and providing practical, straightforward advice. This means that our website should be easy to navigate, easy to tired, sleep-deprived eyes to read and fast. Meeting these objectives would also provide the added benefit of increased conversions, search engine visibility and traffic.
SOLUTION
How did you select 3 Owl and what were the deciding factors?
3 Owl "got it". From the very first conversation, they established themselves as a partner and extension of our team that was truly invested in the best interests of our company.
They understood that while we know our clients best, we don't know the technology best, and found the perfect balance of providing the client experience we envisioned with the most effective use of technology. They listened and took the time to truly understand our business.
They provided recommendations and options that were clearly thought out from end-to-end -- what it would be mean for the client experience, how it would be executed, and what the downstream implications would be. They were organized, communicative, and met deadlines.
They stayed on budget and always provided estimates ahead of time, with the option to scale up or down depending on needs. They took the time to give thoughtful, specific guidance. All of our crazy ideas were answered with "the answer is always yes, but here are the different things we need to consider".
It felt like a true partnership, with the appropriate amount of structure to remain agile and execute quickly.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
3 Owl took our existing WordPress site that was built on a standard theme with many plug-ins and WooCommerce, redesigned it and rebuilt the site using a custom theme while maintaining our main integrations which helps us to cut down on costs and launch time significantly.
Included in the site redesign was a complete design overhaul that is completely ADA compliant, new copy, new organization to our WooCommerce store, new product photos and brand new pages for our extensive Knowledge Center and consultant network.
They did all of this within 3.5 months, finishing on time, despite it being a holiday week. Our site was launched in conjunction with a huge promotion (which was risky) but the site performed and we had resources on call to handle anything that popped up quickly.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
We worked with a number of people from 3 Owl including David, the founder and CEO, Brandon, the copywriter, Justine, their project manager and indirectly with their development and creative leads.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
The promotion we ran in coordination with the new website launch resulted in a 500% increase over our previous one day sales record.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timelines.
3Owl utilizes Monday which is an extremely transparent and user friendly task management system to track all deliverables, upload files and provide updates. The applications used to provide site design mock-ups, our project proposal and all other materials were top notch and made the collaboration process seamless and efficient.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
The feeling that they were an extension of our team. Just the right amount of structure to not be cumbersome and pave the way for efficiency and collaboration. The thoughtfulness that went into every recommendation. The transparency and open lines of communication.
They even graciously jumped in to help us after hours a few times for issues with our existing site! They have partnered with our other vendors beautifully to ensure smooth transitions and keep everyone on the same page.
Are there any areas for improvement?
The only thing we may do differently would be to not launch on a holiday week, but that was our own doing!

3 Owl conducted a full rebrand for a musician support and development organization. The rebrand included a new logo, style guide, copy, website, marketing collateral, and social media and email templates.
3 Owl's work has contributed to an overwhelmingly positive response from stakeholders. The team was patient and were excellent leaders. They put thought and care into everything they did.
The client submitted this review online.
BACKGROUND
Please describe your company and your position there.
ATL Collective is a musician support and development arts organization. I'm the Treasurer of the Board and acting CFO.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
For what projects/services did your company hire 3 Owl?
A full rebrand - new logo, style guide, copy, website, marketing collateral including poster/flyer, social & email templates
What were your goals for this project?
Our transition from a for-profit to a non-profit warranted a complete overhaul of our brand and all marketing collateral including a new website.
SOLUTION
How did you select 3 Owl?
A subcommittee reviewed several agencies but having worked with 3 Owl previously on marketing and the excellent work they had already done for us (and the fact that we were getting a special non-profit rate) they were a clear choice.
Describe the scope of their work in detail.
The discovery process was extensive and impressive ranging from a design charrette with our team to interviews with multiple stakeholders - audience members, musicians, production, ALT Collective team & board, and sponsors. They then met with our marketing team on a regular basis allowing us multiple opportunities for feedback along the way. The scope was broad - full re-branding including website, logo, style, copy, SEO, templates and other collateral - but 3 Owl seemed to have deep expertise in their team for all components.
What was the team composition?
We mostly worked with an Account Manager who was super helpful, and directly with the Creative Director who also gave a fantastic pitch / reveal of the brand at our annual fundraiser that was just incredible.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Our operations have changed considerably due to Covid, so it's hard to show specific metrics, but we've had an overwhelmingly positive response from stakeholders in the community and are doing remarkably well given the current economic climate - in large part thanks to the rebrand.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
3 Owl were very patient with transitions in leadership and were like clockwork at all marketing team meetings. No complaints!
What did you find most impressive about this company?
We got what I would consider world-class branding at an accessible rate for our nonprofit. The thought and care that went into everything was first rate. They are exceptional storytellers as well as visual creatives and have a solid technical team to back everything up.
Are there any areas for improvement?
I think we were lucky to get to work with them!
