I’m the owner of Carla’s Cookie Box, a Toronto-based online bakery specializing in award-winning butter tarts, gourmet cookies, brownies, and dessert subscription boxes, shipped fresh across Canada.

What challenge were you trying to address with 1 At Bat Media?

I hired 1 At Bat Media mainly to boost sales and get the buzz out about Carla’s Cookie Box. The focus has been on running effective ads, creating newsletters that connect with my audience, and building more awareness around my business. My goal was to see real growth through marketing campaigns that actually drive orders.

1 At Bat Media handles the digital marketing side of my business. Their scope of work includes paid advertising, email marketing, campaign management, and strategy and support. They build and manage campaigns on Meta (Facebook/Instagram) to drive sales. They also design and send newsletters with promotions, product highlights, and seasonal updates. 1 At Bat Media fully handles ads and newsletters from strategy to execution, ensuring everything is consistent and professional. The team guides me through the process, advises on messaging, and helps generate buzz so my bakery can reach more customers.

How did you come to work with 1 At Bat Media?

I discovered 1 At Bat Media through Clutch and an online search. I was doing some research on agencies that specialize in e-commerce and digital marketing. Their profile on Clutch, along with what I found in the search, gave me the confidence to reach out and learn more about how they could support Carla’s Cookie Box.

After my disappointing experience with another agency, I was very unconfident about marketing agencies. When I spoke with Travis, he immediately understood that and went above and beyond to earn my trust. He not only took the time to listen but also sent me mock-ups of newsletters, ads, and even my own website to show how serious he was about helping my business grow and thrive. That level of effort and commitment made it clear they were the right choice over any other agency.

Since starting with 1 At Bat Media, the results have been clear and measurable. My online sales have gone up thanks to consistent ad campaigns that actually convert. I’ve seen more repeat orders coming in through the newsletters they design and send on my behalf. Beyond just sales, there’s been a noticeable increase in buzz around Carla’s Cookie Box. More people are engaging with my brand online, following on social media, and discovering my bakery through the campaigns they run. Overall, our online sales have increased by 1,056%.

1 At Bat Media’s project management has been excellent. From the very beginning, they’ve been organized, clear about timelines, and proactive in communicating what’s happening next. They deliver exactly when they say they would — from launching ads to sending newsletters — and they continue to deliver consistently on an ongoing basis.

Having them handle everything on time and without me needing to chase for updates has been a huge relief and lets me stay focused on running Carla’s Cookie Box. We communicate through ClickUp.

What did you find most impressive about them?

What impresses me most about working with 1 At Bat Media is how personal and proactive they are. Travis doesn’t just give me generic advice — he really listens to my concerns and takes full ownership of my ads and newsletters. On top of that, we have weekly meetings, which keeps everything transparent and ensures I’m always in the loop. They’ve made me feel confident in marketing again after a disappointing past experience. The fact that they continue to deliver consistently, without me needing to chase, is unique. Their effort to treat my business like their own and show me real results is what stands out the most.

All sales metrics increased substancially and revenue specifically increasing nearly 100% from previous period.

Project management is, has been stellar. Deliverable have always been on time. Addressed additional project requests immediatle while maintaining shedule on existing deliverables.

Not really, for the scope of our contract. Would have like to focus more time on our companies marketing statagies as a while, perhaps a bit more consultation as a transitionaing ecommerce business

I'm the owner of Sourcing Simple, an agency that helps Chinese companies market their products to US customers. Our services include digital and email marketing.

What challenge were you trying to address with 1 At Bat Media?

We needed help with paid media advertising on Meta and Google for one of our customers, and we also needed email marketing support. Before hiring 1 At Bat Media, we were working with another marketing agency and had a really bad experience. 1 At Bat Media came into a scenario where our customer's ads were not profitable, so we were losing a lot of money. The other marketing agency had also helped us design the customer-oriented website.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

At a high level, 1 At Bat Media helped us with one of our customers' paid ads on Facebook and our email marketing through Klaviyo. They also took over the customer's Instagram account and managed its posting. Although 1 At Bat Media's work required some SEO for the ads, they didn't write blog posts or anything like that. Moreover, the team helped us fix broken things on the website, which required some customer coding.

1 At Bat Media's work included designing creative assets for us. I sent them photos from a photoshoot, and they then designed all of the creative assets needed for the posts and ads. Additionally, they managed platforms where we could pay influencers to get video ads.

1 At Bat Media also helped us with our customer's Google Ads account, which had been blocked. The team helped us get it unblocked and ensured that everything was legal and didn't break any rules. As for email marketing, we had been blacklisted on a lot of email servers, so their team helped us get off of those blacklists.

We mainly worked with two teammates from 1 At Bat Media, including Travis (Founder & CEO) and Anchella (Operations Manager).

How did you come to work with 1 At Bat Media?

I found them on Clutch. I was looking at a lot of different agencies and interviewed several of them. Travis was very transparent and seemed like he had a small, focused team instead of a big agency. Their pricing was very fair and reasonable for the value they delivered. Moreover, their Clutch star ratings were hugely important as well.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent $7,500 a month.

We worked together from April–August 2024

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

1 At Bat Media joined when we were in a very bad situation and went above and beyond to get our ads to break even. They also helped our customer increase their average order value by 40%, which was huge. Moreover, the team increased the conversion rate on our website from 2% to 6%.

How did 1 At Bat Media perform from a project management standpoint?

1 At Bat Media was incredible and never missed a deadline. If anything, they were waiting on us to get things done. We used ClickUp to get approvals for the creative assets and email campaigns, and we communicated through Slack.

Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?

Travis and Anchella were both amazing. Anchella made sure to get all the needed approvals, and Travis was our main point of contact. He worked with us and had video calls with us every week to explain things, which was amazing. Moreover, Travis was incredible and always met our needs. He was always on time and never said a bad thing about us. He always took extreme ownership and responsibility for their actions and didn’t make any excuses.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Most marketing agencies overpromise and underdeliver, but 1 At Bat Media doesn't do that. They were straightforward, under-promised, and over-delivered every time. They didn’t try to nickel and dime us for every little thing they did.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can't say anything bad about them; they were awesome.

Pay attention to the weekly calls and trust Travis because he knows what he's doing.
