Initially I had a number of phone conversations and emails to get a good feel about how the company worked, and to see whether it would suit my business. Once I decided to go ahead, the HR team began recruiting. I set up job descriptions and tests for suitable applicants. Once suitable recruits were narrowed down, I interviewed and made my selection.

Describe their billing or cost structure.

We pay a monthly seat fee, which does not change each month. Then we pay another invoice which covers all the employee's wage amounts.

What was the team composition?

Our employee works solo and engages the Australian team on a daily basis.

Can you share any outcomes from the engagement that demonstrate progress or success?

Since employing with TGT, I found that I had more time to grow my business and put on more employees in Australia. Since the engagement, my business has grown significantly.

Their team is fully integrated with all of our operations. As a software company, all of our systems are cloud-based, and they’re working with the same systems. Their workforce is highly skilled, and we trust them to work on anything our in-house team works on. We don’t just give them overflow work. Our teams are practically interchangeable.

Our main point of contact is Godfrey (Operations Manager, TechnoGlobal Team Inc). Because of the communication structures they have in place, he is always available. If needed, the center manager is always happy to engage with us.

We were starting to do research into various options when they were referred to us.

We started working together in November 2016 and the project is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

They’ve given us the ability to scale as required. Their team ensures that we can always finish projects within a reasonable amount of time, giving us the ability to take on new projects. Their leadership runs a well-organized center, and we’re happy to work with them. Through training, they’ve established a standard that meets our requirements.

How did TechnoGlobal Team Inc perform from a project management standpoint?

Obviously, communication is key. They ensure that our collaboration runs smoothly by putting a lot of effort into providing information to both their staff and their partners.

Although our teams come from different backgrounds, they run several initiatives that have been very helpful. All of their employees are enrolled in cultural training to create an organizational culture and help staff members learn about the Australian market. They’ve also sent a few people to our offices for a week to ensure assimilation with our company culture. We’ve been invited to participate in a forum where they can ask us questions and we can provide feedback.

Educating us on Filipino culture and trends, our partnership goes both ways. They even send newsletters with pertinent information like language, local phrases, and logistical planning. For us, working with them feels like doing business with someone down the road.  

What did you find most impressive about them?

 They’ve remained flexible to our needs while being careful to maintain the integrity of their service. When we need to amend a procedure, they’re willing to sit down and discuss our needs and theirs. In the three years we’ve worked with them, they’ve maintained a 100% retention rate amongst their employees.

Listen to their advice. They’re highly organized in terms of information flows and they’re very well organized.

From the begin, Carmela was excellent, never pushy and always willing to provide support and advice. The process was clearly explained and we have been and still being supported through the journey as we continue to grow our business and footprint.

Bringing on TecnoGlobal Team Inc allowed us to get those reports and checklists done along with a bunch of other lower-level tasks. Beyond that, they also provide an HR component as well as regular reviews, updates, and operational reports on their performance.

Hiring was fantastic and well run. The training was challenging but not impossible. Local management was responsive and well-meaning even if at times there was a bit of lost nuance. The fact that they have a couple of Aussies working out of the office and a couple of Filipinos who could have passed for Aussies meant that there was a very quick cultural alignment of our businesses and an escalation process that worked.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They handle everything with outsourcing some of our hires. We've offshored four people in the Philippines, and they manage recruiting, HR management, physical desk and office space, and all the employee services for our people there.

Working with them is fantastic, and they deliver a white glove solution. This was a new region for us, but they helped us establish a presence there and navigate all the needs and legal requirements. They align with our needs well, and we don't have to interview as many candidates as I initially thought we would need. Almost every candidate we've hired is really excellent.

We work intimately with four or five people. The owner and the other team members are very involved in the process and make sure everything goes well.

How did you come to work with TechnoGlobal Team Inc?

We're in a peer group for our industry, and we heard about TechnoGlobal from one of our partners. They put us in contact, and we spent a few months getting to know each other. They made working with them really easy, and they lowered a lot of barriers for us in the Philippines. We started with three people and almost immediately increased the number of team members.

How much have you invested with them?

We spend about $10,000 per month, and we plan to increase it to as much as five times that amount in the next couple of years.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started talking to them in January 2019. We signed the contract by late February, and we had our first employee onboarded by late April 2019. The contract is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I highly recommend them, and I was pleasantly surprised by how easy they made the process. They broke down all the barriers, and they're so involved and engaged in our success. The level of detail in their process is great, and they're a well-oiled machine.

Their project management is excellent. I rarely give anyone a perfect score, but I would happily rate them ten out of ten.

What did you find most impressive about them?

This is the only provider we've hired for this kind of project, so I don't have anything to compare them to. Their executives are intimately involved in the project, and they provide a high level of oversight.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could make their invoicing and billing a little clearer, and we did face a bit of a learning curve with the cultural difference. Other than that, I have no critical feedback for them.

We met the candidates, shortlisted our favorites, and completed the hiring process. They collaborated with us during our training process.

We had two main points of contact. One was more heavily involved in the interview process, but we worked closely with both of them. We have three staff members from them at the moment.

I don't have any analytics, but we've avoided any of the pains or challenges other companies face with offshoring. We've never had a problem with them, and our outsourced staff handled calls from the first day. Customer feedback is positive, and most users don't even realize that they're in Manila.

This is new to us, so we follow their lead. TechnoGlobal Team Inc manages all of the follow-up meetings and HR needs for us, and they provide regular reporting. The team is entirely responsive, and they are there for us whenever we need anything.

What did you find most impressive about them?

TechnoGlobal Team Inc's responsiveness is good, but we're most impressed by their procedures. They're prepared for everything, and they have experience in every challenge that arises. They went over and above with onboarding. Everything flows really well. They do a lot to improve staff morale, and I've brought a lot of their office culture back to our offices in Australia.

I can't think of anything they should improve. They impress me in so many areas, and the only thing we could improve are our own internal procedures.

The first role they filled was a sale admin role who did technical quoting. They narrow down who they consider to be the best candidate to the role that we want and we get to actually employ them. For the admin role, they put forward 5-6 candidates to choose from.

My initial interaction with them was with a sales account manager. She then referred me to one of their directors. Then we were taken care of by the HR team for the hiring process. Once the hiring process was complete, there was the transition over to the operation’s team. They help with the setup. Once our first employee was set up, then we deal with the team leader for that area. It was all quite seamless. They really made a concerted effort to make sure the communication flowed right through so that I wasn’t having to have a new conversation because all that information must be passed internally for them very well.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Their HR team really try and put you forward as a good company to work for. They really create an environment that people want to work in. They work hard for you to find the right candidate. We had a situation with our second candidate where the candidates they were putting forward weren’t hitting the mark for what we were after. What I found to be as one of the best things about working with them was I was able to have a really good conversation with the HR team and go more into the personality. It was a partly customer-facing role and we explained what we thought the candidates were possibly missing. They went back and started again. They went through and put forward new candidates. It just showed they were so willing to take on feedback and so willing to work with you for what you are trying to achieve as a company. They made it easy because they took constructive feedback well. They’re fast to provide results.

How did TechnoGlobal Team Inc perform from a project management standpoint?

We communicate by email and phone. If we’re having a meeting with our team or we need to have a meeting with HR prior to meeting with our team, we do video conferencing.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They are quick to answer a request or query. They always provide the best possible results.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They address things as they go. The weekly reports they were providing didn’t really give me any information that was relevant to me. After a phone conversation with them, they spoke with their data analyst and came back with me numbers that are relevant to me.

I’m the CTO of a cloud services provider based in Australia.

What challenge were you trying to address with TechnoGlobal?

We’d been offshoring to India for years, but it was a difficult and cumbersome task to run a staff and maintain reliable management overseas. TechnoGlobal took over all of our business processes.

What was the scope of their involvement?

TechnoGlobal is taking care of the operational aspects of my staff. Their main job is to ensure that my staff is happy, healthy, and at work. They’re focused on understanding Australian business, and they have Australian staff involved in the work, leading to a synergy between the Australian and Filipino cultures.

The mentality of their management team is good, and the HR team is part of that. We work directly with them and they hire people I approve of. Their knowledge is extensive compared to mine, and they make good choices on how to operate the team. They understand the legal scenarios and the cultural aspects around the employees themselves, but they’ve also introduced me to other customers of theirs, encouraging a community culture in which we share knowledge. 

They also provide other operational services, such as an in-house nurse. They understand many of the reasons why people change jobs and are working to mitigate those. Their retention rate is far superior to similar companies.

What is the team composition?

I work with their operations, HR, management, and IT teams, talking with pretty much all their departments. I talk to all their important people whenever I need to, and they’re usually available. I have one contact in each department, and IT comes in as needed. In terms of key staff members, we have an operations manager, an offshore manager, and an HR manager.

How did you come to work with TechnoGlobal?

TechnoGlobal tailors its services to Australian companies, with a lot of IT clients in particular. We chose to work with them as they eliminate our worries around the legal, benefits, and regulatory aspects of running an offshore staff. They’ve enabled us to operate our business, without having to worry about the staff and other things that come with it.

Our investment across the years has been $100,000–$1 million.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with TechnoGlobal in 2017, and the engagement is ongoing. We’re looking to grow the team there.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They give us the right platform to find the right staff. In terms of impact, their customer community and social engagements are always important. They encourage people to share their successes and failures, so I don’t have to be there all the time to experience those myself; I’m able to learn from other people’s mistakes.

How did TechnoGlobal perform from a project management standpoint?

They have good-to-high-level responsiveness, but I’m very easy to deal with and I only need to talk to them once a week. We have direct access to their staff, so we take care of most of it internally. From an operations perspective, we judge things on a case-by-case basis.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The biggest key for business success is their ability to focus on running the business, preventing us from having to worry about dealing with overseas politics and cultural items. They make it easy for me to run the business seamlessly.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There are always procedural improvements that young companies can make, but I don’t have any complaints. They’re pretty free and open, social events are seamless, and they’re keen to help us engage with staff and other clients. They’ve always been accommodating to me, discussing my travel plans, and picking me up from the airport.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

A long trial, of several months, is better than a shorter one in order to adjust to cultural differences. Success is predominantly based on the procedural maturity within a company. We thought we were organized with our procedures, but we weren’t, and you can never be too prepared.

Have a regular physical presence to establish respect and authority amongst the team. Organizing social events and taking an interest in the staff’s culture—who they are and where they’re from—is a key aspect in that.
