Project Overview:
Spark Generation partnered with Qubiz to enhance and scale its digital education platform, focusing on three core pillars: Academic, Future Readiness, and Wellbeing. The goal is to provide a high-performing, reliable, and user-friendly solution that meets the needs of students, teachers, and school administrators across multiple geographies.

 
Scope of Work (SOW)
1. Platform Architecture & Infrastructure
Review and refactor existing codebase for scalability and maintainability.
Improve platform architecture to support growing user base and international expansion.
Set up and optimize cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS/Azure) for performance, security, and cost-efficiency.
Implement CI/CD pipelines for seamless deployment.
2. Frontend Development
Redesign and implement responsive user interfaces for:

Student dashboards
Teacher & administrator panels
Wellbeing and career guidance modules
Ensure accessibility (WCAG compliance) and performance optimization (Core Web Vitals).

Qubiz demonstrated strong project management throughout the engagement. They worked in structured, bi-weekly sprints, with clearly defined goals, timelines, and deliverables. All major items were delivered on time or ahead of schedule, with minimal need for revisions.

They were highly responsive to our evolving needs — adapting quickly to feedback, reprioritizing tasks when necessary, and maintaining transparent communication via regular check-ins and status updates. Their team proactively flagged risks or blockers early and proposed practical solutions, which helped us stay on track.

Their use of tools like Jira and Confluence (or insert your actual tools) ensured clear task tracking, documentation, and accountability across both teams.

What stood out most in our collaboration with Qubiz was their deep alignment with our mission and values, particularly around the role of technology in transforming education. From the beginning, they demonstrated a genuine interest in understanding not just our technical requirements, but the impact we aim to create for students and educators.

They took the time to immerse themselves in our vision, which translated into a high level of empathy and clarity in their approach. Their ability to ask the right questions, challenge assumptions constructively, and anticipate user needs was invaluable.

We were also particularly impressed by their UI/UX capabilities. The designs they delivered were not only modern and visually engaging, but also intuitive, accessible, and well-suited for our diverse user base—including teenagers, teachers, and school administrators. Are there any areas for improvement or something Qubiz could have done differently?

While our overall experience with Qubiz was very positive, there are a few areas where we believe there is room for improvement:

More Strategic Product Thinking
At times, the team was very focused on executing specifications as provided. We would have appreciated more proactive suggestions or challenges from a product strategy perspective — especially in early-stage decisions where technical and user experience trade-offs could have been explored further.
Early Clarity on Resourcing
In the initial stages, there were some delays in finalizing the full development team. A clearer timeline and visibility into resource allocation from the outset would have helped us plan internally with greater precision.
Documentation Depth
While we received good technical documentation, we would have benefited from more comprehensive end-user documentation or handoff materials, particularly for onboarding new internal team members.
That said, Qubiz was always receptive to feedback and showed a clear willingness to improve in real time, which made the collaboration productive and solutions-focused.

I'm the co-founder of a SaaS company.

We had an idea for a new software product and needed a partner to build it.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Qubiz has helped us scope the project. The team has worked on the UI/UX design, technical build, user testing, and deployment into the live environment. Qubiz has shared with me several different visions for how the product would look and feel, and we've worked collaboratively with them to make the final choices.

What is the team composition?

We've worked with various teammates from Qubiz, including one of the co-founders, developers, designers, project managers, testers, and coders.

How did you come to work with Qubiz?

I knew Qubiz's co-founder from a previous engagement and also because I had seen the quality of their work on behalf of this client.

How much have you invested with them?

We've spent around $400,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in January 2020, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Qubiz has consistently performed on time and within budget.

How did Qubiz perform from a project management standpoint?

We've set up project teams on our side and Qubiz’s side. We've had ongoing weekly meetings throughout the entire project's lifecycle. We haven't had issues around budget inflation or timing delays. I believe Qubiz uses Jira internally.

I want to highlight Norbert's work.

Qubiz's team has nice people who do excellent work.

I have no complaints at all.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

The Qubiz project team are great, but I would recommend having someone on your own team who is fully committed to your project and has at least a basic understanding of technical issues, product development and project management.

Better interactions and patient and healthcare provider were very content.

Weight loss as a idirect effect on patients using the app. 

More controll of chronis illness by patients and more engagement in treatment.

Relase of Master data also incl. refactoring and implementation of additional functions. Release of Vehicle Insurance application in Nov. 2023 and optimization until June 2024

Yes, items were delivered in time. Unfortunately, the quality was very different. Some things were implemented very well, others with sloppy mistakes or mistakes due to misunderstandings.

We appreciated their In-depth knowledge of architecture and UI/UX development.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Qubiz could have done differently?

Due to the language barrier, the requirements should be better understood. Or if not, be clarified in advance by asking questions. Also documentation of DTOs and APIs should be done side-by-side with the development. I had to follow up several times in this regard.
