As an Independent Software Vendor we also develop our own Dynamics compatible apps. Our project and resource management solution, proRM Fast Start, integrates seamlessly into Dynamics 365 and offers a compact tool box for small and medium-sized businesses. It’s entirely compatible with Dynamics 365 for Project Service Automation. We also offer Project Management add-ons for Dynamics 365 for Project Service Automation that provide further tracking, approval management and project planning functionality.

I’m the owner and CEO of hhpberlin, a fire safety engineering company.

What challenge were you trying to address with proMX AG?

We needed help integrating a resource management add-on solution to our Microsoft Dynamics platform.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We were using Microsoft Dynamics, a highly CRM-focused solution, and we needed more resource management functionality. proMX AG developed a product called proRM, which is an on-premise resource management solution. It helps us organize and schedule our expert resources. It works as an add-on to Microsoft Dynamics. 

We later integrated Power BI for added data visualization functionalities. proMX helped us migrate our system to the cloud and transition from proRM to Microsoft Project Service Automation. They guided us through Microsoft’s different cloud features and helped digitize our processes. The team also manages our cloud subscription and environment. 
 
What is the team composition?

The team has changed over time. We use a project manager to oversee everything as well as a person to coordinate our roadmap. As we’ve grown an internal team to research potential solutions, proMX AG provides expertise for us to leverage.
 
How did you come to work with proMX AG?

We wrote a request for our requirements—a plug-in to add resource management features to our Microsoft Dynamics platform. proMX AG beat out their competition with a forward-thinking solution.

How much have you invested with them?

We spend €80,000–€100,000 (about $90,000–$113,000 USD) per year for consulting, development, and licensing.

We started working with proMX AG in 2011. The collaboration is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Thanks to proMX AG’s consultation on our Dynamics environment, our revenue has grown by 20%–30% over time. We had the opportunity to share our transformation and fruitful collaboration with proMX AG to 40,000 attendees at a Microsoft event. The system gives us greater transparency and enables more automation. We can find more cost-saving strategies and our engineers can easily create projects, send invoices, and communicate with customers.
 
How did proMX AG perform from a project management standpoint?

We use Team Foundation Server and a scrum approach to tackle work. We create a digital backlog of items on our end, and proMX AG assigns appropriate resources to those tasks. We have meetings every six months to reprioritize topics. We talk with their project lead about strategic decisions, and then both sides go to work at different speeds on parallel tasks.

Our continued engagement with proMX AG is a testament to our trusting and open relationship. We can describe our needs and requirements transparently, and we trust their team to help us find the best solution. We’ve learned how to work with each team member directly. They’re excellent developers, and we’re thrilled with the state of our collaboration.

We appreciate their openness and lack of ego. We can talk freely about positive and negative experiences and learn from each other.
 
Are there any areas they could improve?

proMX AG currently has more projects than they have resources to tackle them, which limits how many customers they can work with. The team could use a strategy to develop more experts internally and collaborate with university talent.
