I’m the technical intelligence supervisor at a mobile water and wastewater technology company. I oversee all of our IT, data, and software.

I wanted to push our focus into cybersecurity.
What was the scope of their involvement?
They provide all of our redundancy in our cloud storage, cybersecurity training, audits, intentional phishing, and other things of that nature.
How did you come to work with Juern Technology?
Neal (Founder) had a prior relationship with our CEO and he was helping us with IT. When we got bigger, we went to a bigger IT partner but missed the specialized attention and felt we were open to cybersecurity attacks. We decided to shift back to Juern Technology and have been happy ever since.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CEO of Meals on Wheels San Antonio, an almost 50-year-old nonprofit organization serving the South Texas region. We primarily serve home-delivered meals, but we also operate Alzheimer’s activity centers.
What challenge were you trying to address with Juern Technology?
We had been using a technology provider that was cloud technology, but it was getting dated and it was more of a terminal server environment. I think the company was probably moving in another direction of a business line and this wasn’t front and center like it was. We needed something fresh, agile, something that was more pertinent to today and could change with the changing times. With this other group, it wasn’t feeling that way and it was clunky.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Juern Technology provides a virtual IT person to help anyone with any problems whether it’s a Microsoft product or specialized software that we use in our work. One of our main concerns has always been security and ransomware attacks; we have to have everything HIPPA compliant. As a nonprofit, we have a lot of donor information on clients and we would hate for that information to get out. They make sure that everything is as secure as possible and staying up to date. The team offers ongoing training with the staff as well. Juern Technology migrated us from the previous internet service provider to the Microsoft 365 environment.
What is the team composition?
We work directly with Neal (President) and 2–3 other people. Once we got up and running, we worked directly with the help desk.
How did you come to work with Juern Technology?
I had seen them in the community and was hoping to get more local once we realized things with our previous provider were going downhill. Around that time, I had gotten a direct mail piece from Juern Technology inviting me to a webinar and we connected through that.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent about $10,000, which is not nearly as much as we expected.
What is the status of this engagement?
We officially began working together in September 2020 and the relationship is still ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
They’ve been very open and honest without trying to hide any issues or things that slipped through that we forgot about.
How did Juern Technology perform from a project management standpoint?
They are spot on. Juern Technology has their worksheet and charts and they share them all. They keep us up to speed with what’s going on. We had some schedule adjustments and had input in getting that done and they were one of the best that I’ve ever had in any type of project management effort.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They’re great communicators and they’re local. One of the problems we had with our other provider was the response time was slow. The provider responded electronically and it was oftentimes hard to get a person on the phone.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Some of our workstations didn’t have enough RAM to operate in the Microsoft 365 environment as well as they could and if we had known that ahead of time we could have been ready for it. The other part primarily came from our side but we failed to fill out the paperwork for our internet fax line and we scrambled to get it done.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Tell them upfront what your expectations are and what you’re looking to achieve. Don’t hold anything back because the more Juern Technology knows about your business, the more they can do with anticipation and planning down to the implementation.

I’m the operations manager at a general contracting company.
What challenges were you trying to address with Juern Technology?
We approached them for antivirus protection and data security for the IT systems at our company.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We moved our central data and file access to their cloud, and we moved our accounting software back to hard drives in our corporate office. Thy installed devices for daily backups of data. They also implemented remote access for both our file database and our accounting system with different levels of security. They streamlined the entire process and made everything much more seamless.

I think there were about 6 people assigned to work with us including Neal (President) and Steve (Technical Manager).
How did you come to work with Juern Technology?
I did some research on providers. I gave them a call, and they were exceptionally responsive. I called their references, and each reference gave glowing reviews.

What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with them in October 2019. The transition was completed within about a month.

There have been no data breaches or compromises to our system. In contrast, with our two previous providers, we had multiple security issues where our systems were compromised. They fit in seamlessly with our company, it felt like they were instantly part of our team.

Their communication and project management was great. They always let us know when different tasks were to be completed and who was the point of contact for each task.

I’m the managing partner of a mechanical and electrical contracting company.
What challenge were you trying to address with Juern Technology?
We’ve grown relatively fast over the last 10 years, so we needed them for day-to-day IT services. Within the last year, they helped us with our IT infrastructure relocation.
What was the scope of their involvement?
They helped us address hardware concerns upfront, growing to understand our growing company and its challenges pretty quickly. In our last location, they were aware of our major IT and hardware concerns. We addressed those as part of our relocation. They delivered the hardware to us and handed some of the installations. In addition, they were responsible for all of the commissioning and system startup.
What is the team composition?
There were probably 4–5 working with us at any given time. At some point or another, we’ve probably worked with everyone on their team. At first, as their company was starting up, we worked only with Neal (President, Juern Technology).
How did you come to work with Juern Technology?
The founder of their company had a connection with another company that we bought hardware from. Based on the pleasantries, we reached back out to him to set up the hardware. At the time, we were looking for an IT provider. He seemed like he was capable of providing the products and services needed. Our reliance on them has grown over time.

We started working with them in 2012, and our engagement is ongoing.

I’ve received positive feedback from my team about their skills and capabilities. We know that we’re not their only customer, but they’ve been able to help us through all of our problems with minimal delays. Oftentimes, they can get on it right away or point us in the right direction.
How did Juern Technology perform from a project management standpoint?
We don’t have any regularly scheduled interactions. Our team will email them if we run into a problem. They’ve set up a help desk email that we utilize. If there something urgent, we call into their help desk. About once every month, we see them in-person. The majority of our issues are handled remotely.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They offer a personal touch to their client in their work. When we call them, we’re often on the phone with someone we know and have a history with. At some point, we’ve talked to all of their go-to guys. I’m able to voice my concerns, and we work on a solution.
Are there any areas they could improve?
They struggle with manpower, like many in this industry. But, they’ve been able to add some staff members and have consistently done a great job for us.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Early communication is important, especially if it’s a larger project like our office relocation. Because we brought the project to them early, they were able to do a hardware inspection to gain a clear understanding of our needs and goals. Everyone was on the same page, and the project was successful.

For what projects/services did your company hire Juern Technology?
We contracted Juern Technology to design and implement a WiFi network for our campus.
What were your goals for this project?
We wanted to provide a robust, campus-wide wireless network to serve the needs of an anticipated one-to-one computing program. In this program, each student would have the ability to access course materials using an electronic device.
How did you select this vendor?
After reviewing our current vendor’s proposal for expanding our wireless network, we invited Juern Technologies to propose a controllerless WiFi system. We hired Juern Technologies because we liked their proposed system, implementation plan, and their additional support.
Describe the project in detail.
The team evaluated our campus to decide how to localize and install the access points. During the implementation, they installed hardware, supervised the installation of additional cabling, and configured the cloud-based system. They also provided training so that internal stakeholders could manage the system.
What was the team composition?
Neal (President, Juern Technology) was our primary consultant. He brought in his team to install the hardware while he configured the management dashboard.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Our one-to-one computing program has been a success, demonstrating the capability of the WiFi network to meet our needs.
